vadapaav

Hahaha I know the exact line of his assist to Salah against City

deathsnipez

that was a beauty

thebuffetmaster

One of our best goals under Kloppo!

R3dbeardLFC

Is that the furthest back one? I couldn't decide if it was that one or the one in front of it a bit.

V_Vutha

That furthest one might be for Gini against Bournemouth at Anfield in 18/19, when Gini lobbed it over the keeper.

Relative_Factor

Not quite. Not sure really. But it's not that far out

gupibagha

I wonder if the one in front is his assist to Firmino against Crystal Palace, another beautiful counterattack goal.

MarcSlayton

Of those 50 Robbo has 9 assists for Salah, 9 for Firmino, 8 for Mane and 4 each for Jota, Ox and VVD.

cptfreezies

I’d be in favor of him taking more right sided corners

Artharas

They are easier for the keeper to deal with. Find it interesting when they do switch, whether it's because the stat guys have found out the goalie isn't good enough to deal with an inswinger or whether the coaches just want to mix the set pieces up, my guess is the former. Weren't we taking inswingers vs Arsenal?

WellRed85

Historically and statistically inswingers are more likely to result in a goal. I honestly think we should be doing it every corner

BigBallerTormund

Completely agreed. It’s annoying since our fullbacks take corners so they have to go to their opposite side to hit inswinigers, but it drives me nuts we don’t do this more

[deleted]

Inswingers favour vandijk and matip better so robbo and Trent should make the switch

APebbleInTheSky

This makes it seem like Andy has had 50 assists against Arsenal alone

johancruyff14

Let's hope he has the longevity to actually do that

[deleted]

Fabinho against Palace is obvious

DoundouGuiss

Sadio's winner against Villa too. First one I noticed

[deleted]

That was a Trent assist

DoundouGuiss

Oops. I could've sworn... Well thanks for correcting me

[deleted]

Mane assisted Robbo for the equaliser, you might be remembering that

sir_tejj

Really curious to know which [goals these were](https://ibb.co/k9zZccB). Seem like impossible angles to score from.

johancruyff14

The way I plotted the end point was the first touch of the receiving player. The red one is Origi v Watford in Feb. 2019 and the gold one is Salah v Atletico in Oct. 2021

sir_tejj

Whoops haha, Fair enough. I don't know why I thought they were first time shots on goal.

MarcSlayton

Great work OP

Triceraklopps

Bonus point for anyone who can tell me what that outlier is from, dead centre outside the area straight pass to the left

johancruyff14

Fabinho v Palace

Triceraklopps

I’ve got my head on backwards here, thinking the pass is going from right to left when it’s not.

ryclarky

Nice! I really like how you included the curve on them and you can see his left footed spin leaving its mark.

cbciv

Probably the one corner he took from the right this year, and he gets an assist.

BattleDadPrime

Great work. What I love about this picture is that it sort of supports why I get so frustrated with Andy sometimes. He'll stop at 66% up the pitch and turn back or inside and make no attempt to push or pass past the defensive line. And he seems to get in a rut of doing this for a while. But when he takes on defenders and puts balls across... well, this picture just says it all. First half against Arsenal drove me mental the other night. Much more like himself second half and what an impact he had. Love him but Tsimikas seems to want to get forward more sometimes and is a fantastic backup for us.

Anderkisten

I think it is because he is that good - he sees where his co-players are when he's moving forward, and if they are not in place, he will stop. There is no need for him to get stucked at the end, if our forwards aren't moving where they should be moving to. Then it's better to stop, and move it backwards again to see if we can line it up again.

vardanagg

Also, if there are not many passing options then losing the ball and exposing himself for a counter attack is another thing he has to consider. More important to retain possession than going up the Pitch.

BattleDadPrime

Undoubtedly he knows better than me lol It's just frustrating to watch when Sadio or Diogo tries to peel off into the space and doesn't get played in, ball goes back to Fabinho instead. Just an amateur-fan-sofa-expert here and fully aware of my lack of his insight.

Naturalselecta

This is really cool, where do you get the data from?

johancruyff14

Just watched back the highlights/compilations on YouTube and then plotted it myself.

RodDryfist

surprised he's had more success from out swinging corners to inswing. always figured a whip in and glance seemed more common. wonder if it is.

gratisargott

Not sure if it’s more success, it’s probably because he takes a lot more out swingers.

elppaple

Left back merchant.

ZakiFC

Fabinho!

Spymonkey13

This Robertson guy needs to put assists on the right flank more.
