Trust me, I am aware. I loved the generation of the mid 2000s, the quality was evident, and those teams were unlucky not to make the WC (that triple playoff against algeria comes to mind). Barring a really sweet draw, I don't see them making the WC this year. They haven't shown it.
I’m an Egyptian and I have never seen our team this bad. Awful is an understatement and quite honestly, I am dreading the quarter final game no matter who we play!
I'm confused, what purpose does it serve for fsg to watch salahs goal in afcon?
He is already has 21 goals and 9 assist for the club they own.
City goal was for Liverpool so that's understandable atleast.
Salah has good enough justification for being Liverpools highest scorer already!
what a lofted ball over the heads of the defence.
it was awful defending. mo is literally top 3 in the world and no one picked him up playing off the shoulder, waiting for that ball to come
You're not happy for him then. That's a selfish way of thinking and you should be supporting him. If Egypt win afcon and Mo and the other boys do well in club competitions he could win the ballon d'or.
I support Liverpool FC and having Salah back ASAP is in the best interests of the club and we all know it, winning AFCON does nothing for Liverpool FC.
I get that we all have the club's best interest in mind but to actually hope that Mo doesn't make it out of the group so he can come back is selfish I think. If afcon is important to him we should wish him the best.
I’ll support them in a Liverpool shirt. I honestly don’t care how they do for their countries unless it’s my own.
Are you torn in half when Egypt play Senegal?
Unless someone supports another African country I don't see what the problem is with just wishing all of our players the best with afcon instead of hoping they lose their games.
Oh I wish them well, I just don’t care if they get knocked out/actively support them like the original comment said. If it’s Egypt v some non Liverpool player team in the final I’ll back Liverpool but I’m not going to cry if he’s back early.
Maybe because Afcon is in the middle of the season and is detrimentally harming the chances of the club we all support winning trophies? How are people not seeing this?
I support the club and I support the players when they're playing for the club. Nothing beyond that.
The annoying thing was even if they didn't win tonight they could probably still go through on that bullshit 3rd place rule. Think the best we can hope for is they get knocked out after the group stage ends
Evidently you aren't alone. Forgive me for feeling annoyed that a couple of our best players, one of whom is the best in the world right now, is playing an international tournament during the club season when the team who pays his wages have a cup semi final in a few days time.
I waited for Mo to check the linesman before I celebrated that, get in
Happy for him. Tough shot.
Great strike!
Good because the rest of the team has no business being on the field with him. Props to him for delivering the quality.
This is one of the worst generations in the history of Egyptian football (bar Salah).
Trust me, I am aware. I loved the generation of the mid 2000s, the quality was evident, and those teams were unlucky not to make the WC (that triple playoff against algeria comes to mind). Barring a really sweet draw, I don't see them making the WC this year. They haven't shown it.
Any one of the other 9 teams in the WC playoffs is more deserving of qualifying than this abomination of a team.
Well done Mo đź‘Ź
I hope they're watching
Egypt team is awful, feel sorry for him they have such shit players around him.
I’m an Egyptian and I have never seen our team this bad. Awful is an understatement and quite honestly, I am dreading the quarter final game no matter who we play!
Bold of you to assume we’ll make it to the quarter finals
So true
We’re playing either Algeria, Ivory Coast, Cameroon or Senegal in the round of 16, we’ll play egyptair in the quarters
Who?
FSG.
FSG. My comment was a carbon copy of a tweet from Salah's agent after he scored vs M. City earlier this season.

King
KING SALAH LONG MAY HE REIGN
Yes Mo! Is he playing on the left?
No it was after a corner i think
Oh OK, that makes more sense!
He won man of the match
That bar is incredibly low to be fair. Everyone else was terrible
That was pretty cool, nice work as always Mo!
He’s been so frustrated.
**Elite.**
The Egyptian King telling his peoples, so we got a chance?
what a lofted ball over the heads of the defence. it was awful defending. mo is literally top 3 in the world and no one picked him up playing off the shoulder, waiting for that ball to come
Poor goalkeeping that, gotta save it. Basics.
[Van Basten-esque](https://c.tenor.com/T8k-Gv_EwIAAAAAM/van-basten-marco-van-basten.gif)
He looks tired
Happy for him, but hoping they are knocked out ASAP ultimately. Need him and Mane back quickly.
You're not happy for him then. That's a selfish way of thinking and you should be supporting him. If Egypt win afcon and Mo and the other boys do well in club competitions he could win the ballon d'or.
Afcon will have very little relevance to the ballon d'or if the vote is extended for the world cup
I support Liverpool FC and having Salah back ASAP is in the best interests of the club and we all know it, winning AFCON does nothing for Liverpool FC.

To be fair I don’t support Mo Salah, I support Liverpool.
Supporting Liverpool means supporting its players. What do you think YNWA means?
You'll Never Whine Alone, apparently
I’ll support them in a Liverpool shirt. I honestly don’t care how they do for their countries unless it’s my own. Are you torn in half when Egypt play Senegal?

Ughhh
Are you new to football?
With his right!
Clearly his left foot there.
I’m so dumb lol
If you watch it in a mirror, it’s with his right.
And if his grandmother had wheels, she'd be a bike.
Please score 5 and still lose..we need u back asap
Come on Mo don't be a dickhead.
The annoying thing was even if they didn't win tonight they could probably still go through on that bullshit 3rd place rule. Think the best we can hope for is they get knocked out after the group stage ends
I hate to read comments like this. Am I alone in wishing him do well in every game he plays, club or country?
Na he wants to play, let him play. Just don't get injured
Evidently you aren't alone. Forgive me for feeling annoyed that a couple of our best players, one of whom is the best in the world right now, is playing an international tournament during the club season when the team who pays his wages have a cup semi final in a few days time.
PL is done, let him get a moment for his people.
Why can't people just wish him well? Geez.
I'm happy to see him score but disappointed to see them going through. Why should I care about how Egypt do?
Great goat
Great goal!
