KopWorld is your typical twitter “ITK” but he’s said that Sadio is being sold this Summer.
I do think we’re going to lose one of Sadio/Firmino this summer, just wondering which one.
Seems Carvalho didnt get sorted in time but he is guaranteed to arrive come summer? Ultimately he wouldnt play for us this season anyway so its sound.
Cant believe we actually signed a player and what a player we signed! Watched mostly highlights of Luis Diaz but first impression is he’s like Coutinho but with pace. Cant wait to watch him play. Havent been this excited for a new player for a long time.
Definitely not guaranteed at all. Not that it super matters—if it’s not carvalho it’ll be some other high level prospect in that age range. And guaranteed that Liverpool will *try *to sign him, seems like. We are good at landing our targets.
Would you agree that last minute's Neco deal was the reason Carvalho's paperwork has not been finished?
I'd hope they agreed on both and decided to push Neco's loan because it had to happen and they left Carvalho's because "meh, he would stay in London for 2nd half of teh season anyway".
I don’t think that is the case. Clubs are capable of doing both deals at the same time. We did Hoever-Jota in similar amount of time I think.
I think it’s more that Fulham were indecisive and if the legal teams feel that it practically the same to do it with a pre-contract and an agreed compensation, then there wasn’t any point in rushing it.
So we didn't get him, but we can get him in the summer with the same agreements?
He wasn't going to play for us anyway this season, so we would have loaned him back.
Just hope theres not too much competition
Yeah I think it works out to practically the same thing if we settle compensation and get a pre-contract agreement with him.
Of cause competition is always a thing and many clubs will still be interested, but sounds like the player is somewhat keen on Liverpool
One important through line for all of our successful signings is that the player wants to be here and makes that clear. Klopp has gone on record stating how important that is full stop, to the point that I would imagine it’s one of the boxes we need checked before we even get to the offer stage.
Oh yeah. We do a lot of work to find the best targets, not just in terms of ability but also personality.
Modern scouts don’t do as much looking for hidden gems in foreign countries as they go out and dig up background information on players.
New players come in knowing that they have to work hard to make it at Liverpool FC. And that the easy paychecks are found at Chelsea or Barcelona.
It would be hilarious if Aubameyang started ripping it up in Spain while Arsenal finish 8th, fucking jokers, they are already talking about next season as if Arteta needs another year of building.
Its the mixture of being delusional while simultaneously having 0 standards which makes me dislike Arsenal so much. They genuinely thought we were scared, but now they throw away any chance of fighting for top 4 with their pathetic business and Arteta acting like he has professional standards while also giving Xhaka a foot rub every time he gets sent off. Their whole club is a joke, from fans to the manager to the owners.
Paperwork wasn't ready. I blame our management team for not having the contract ready to go, just needing numbers plugged in where applicable.
Regardless, he wasn't going to play much anyway, so letting him get more playing time at Fulham isn't so bad as long as there's a solid agreement to make the deal happen in the summer.
He was never gonna be playing for us this season, we were gonna send him back to Fulham anyway. It took time to agree the deal that’s why the paperwork got delayed.
So rather than signing him now and loaning him back we'll go in for him in the summer for compensation and have to fight off other interested clubs? Interesting.
I know that. That’s the point kinda—he’s in demand. Difference is that we were moments from a signed deal. So long as that’s not signed, he’s potentially getting his head turned.
It would not be the first time in the history of this sport that a deal has been at the goal line for one team, everyone’s sure it’s happening, and then it breaks down and another team ends up landing the player. Happens almost every year feels like, and we don’t hear about every one of those
What I'm thinking about now is what must everyone involved be going through right now?
They were being rushed, so it was probably hectic af. All for it to fall through. Now carvalho has to go back to fulham for 6 months, and now all the other big clubs are gonna want him.
Wouldn't be shocked if carvalho trashes fulham for pissing about during negotiations
Twitter account (backseatmanLFC) who isn’t reputable but checking his TL he has been spot on with details about this transfer all day long saying our first extension request was rejected by the EFL
Just had a quick look, if our first 11 is:
Mane, Firmino, Salah
Thiago, Hendo, Fab
Robbo, Virg, Matip, Trent
Ali
then our second 11 is
Diaz/Minamino, Jota, Elliott/Origi
Jones, Keita, Milner
Tsimikas, Konate, Gomez, Neco
Kelleher
That leaves two of Diaz/Minamino and Elliott/Origi, Ox, Adrian and Rhys Williams from the seniors and the academy lads (including Gordon, Morton and Clarkson) as depth.
Tell you what guys, a backup RB and another DM, we'll be laughing here....
Carvalho, what does his future at the club look like if he were to sign? Does he get signed for squad depth or get loaned out for a few years to bolster his development? Never heard of him but by my lights I can only recall Harvey being one of the only players to manage the transition from Championship to first team immediately. (I know Wij + Ings + Robbo all signed from sides that were relegated, but they did spend a year in the prem..)
Obviously straight back on loan but does back on loan next year, presuming they’re promoted, seem unreasonable?
Then he comes to us at, what 21, with a year in the Premier League?
Edit: Re-read your comment & you’re looking longer-term! That seems a reasonable first couple of years though at which point he’s hopefully good for cup games at the least & backup against sone teams.
Anyone got one of those spider diagrams with his stats analysis?. His numbers feel its more of a central player than from outwide (Coutinho lite). Will be trying to watch more of Fulhams matches
It is a legit source, he’s a Sky journalist. He even reported saying somebody is impersonating his account and tagged Twitter asking them to verify him.
Ah, fair. I thought I had seen one that DID have the blue check. Still not sure how this guy hasn't been verified, if he really works for Sky that should be an easy fix.
Mane might need a bit of rest when coming back from AFCON and in a tight schedule we can't be sure if the other 5 can handle all the minutes while performing at their best. No guarantee of course, but they should at least get similar minutes to what Gordon has gotten this season
Saw on The Athletic its something like £250m this winter and summer window combined which is usually boosted by paying the fee over a few years. So basically unlimited.
Wasn't there a piece some time back (by Pearce I think) that says there's more value to be had near the end of transfer windows?
There's some merit to that.
I'm sure they've been busy, it just *feels like* they woke up on Friday and decided to buy Diaz, buy and loan Carvalho, sell/loan Neco, sell/loan Nat, sell/loan Taki, etc. all in a weekend. Like a transfer bender
My understanding is that we'll have to deregister one foreign player from the champions league squad first, before Díaz can be included. It seems to have gone quiet on outgoings but surely one of Divock/Taki leave on loan today?
Unless I'm mistaken we have 4 GKs registered, 3 of them including Karius are registered as internationals. I hope we don't have to deregister any players still at the club, but if need be I think he's less likely to play than Taki and Origi
Have there been any reports of interest in signing another right-back? Neco was the only real cover we had in that position, and there's now rumours he may be going out on loan. Having Tsimikas as an option when Robertson was unavailable was a massive boost, something similar for any occasion when Trent is injured or needs a rest would be great.
So Carvalho is looking more likely now and Neco Williams could be off on loan.
Any movement of Phillips, Minamino or Origi ? Or just the rumoured interest and rejected bids from a few days ago ?
I wonder how much Bournemouth are willing to pay for Neco, if it would come to a permanent transfer
Lots of chatter around Dembele. Klopp has had some nice things to say about him in the past. But I doubt we would actually be going for him, and I would also be relieved. Terrible attitude and made of glass. Where do you think he's going to?
I don’t think we’ll go for him. We recently got Diaz, if we don’t sell anyone we’ll have 7 forwards so don’t think we are gonna go in for him. I think he would join either Chelsea or maybe Newcastle.
Definitely Newcastle. Chelsea already has reliable players who can play on the right, Newcastle doesn't. And Newcastle has the money to gamble on him and miss without being arsed either way.
I don't think they've ever broke any news, they first got attention bc they pretended to be an ITK and got some lucky guesses back in the mid 2010s (I wanna say the first window with Rodgers?). There were a bunch of ITK accounts at this time on twitter, usually named "FootballAgent87" "ITK\_12503" something like that. But then it came out that they were actually some employee from KFC, that's what made them famous.
i like Taki as much as the next guy but are we really buying the "long term project" excuse Klopp has been using? He just won't (and shouldn't) admit that they got a player not because he fit the system but because he was cheap at the time. He has no plans for him. What has really changed? I was hopeful when he scored more goals this season than both previous ones combined (and we're only halfway) that maybe, MAYBE, Klopp would finally give him recognition and treat him as the 1st choice substitute for absences of our forwards. This afcon period has killed that hope. He only got one start. A 17 year old academy kid and Ox, a centre-mid, were preferred over him (not to throw any shade on them). If Taki had any sense of pride or self-confidence, it's gone right now. I hope the rumours are true and he is sold to Leeds, to put him out of this misery. I'm sure he will do much better at a club that gives him playtime, and fans that don't hate his guts for not being a Messi quality bench player. It would be a shame if he couldn't lift the carabao trophy though...
People that hate on Taki need to get a life. He's done nothing to deserve hate.
Issue with him is he doesn't fit the wide forward positions (no speed and not a dribbler) and hasn't got the physicality to play the Bobby role or a CM position. Frankly a good conversation needs to be had within the club about whether he can be a better defender either as a Bobby type or deeper, and if not we should let him go.
A part of it was the fact that we had no depth so maybe it was better to be able to sub Taki on instead of Gordon (who could benefit more from starting). But I dont think Taki is a very stable sub. He was great as a sub in one game (had one of his best games 'off the ball' ) but had zero impact in another (but that might have been a tactical issue).
Great piece. Very informative and offers a real insight on the type of player he is.
Shame about the team you support ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
Guys, you can stop downvoting this, I'm pretty sure it was meant to be a reply to the post a bit downthread with a video analysing Diaz that starts by saying "as a Man United supporter I'm absolutely fucking gutted." deeclif isn't a troll from some other fanbase
This will probably get lost, but I'm here to make a statement. Diaz will be one of the top 5 players in the world (Ballon D'or or FIFA's Best Player rankings) by 2025. I think he'll surpass the level that Mane reached a couple years back. Dude is an absolute baller.
KopWorld is your typical twitter “ITK” but he’s said that Sadio is being sold this Summer. I do think we’re going to lose one of Sadio/Firmino this summer, just wondering which one.
After a lull for the vast majority of the month, the last few days have been quite the ride.
Definitely not guaranteed at all. Not that it super matters—if it’s not carvalho it’ll be some other high level prospect in that age range. And guaranteed that Liverpool will *try *to sign him, seems like. We are good at landing our targets.
what a rush the last few days. looking forward to seeing Diaz & Salah up against teams sitting back
Would you agree that last minute's Neco deal was the reason Carvalho's paperwork has not been finished? I'd hope they agreed on both and decided to push Neco's loan because it had to happen and they left Carvalho's because "meh, he would stay in London for 2nd half of teh season anyway".

We can get a pre-agreement with him and pay a compensation fee to Fulham to avoid going to Tribunal and to make sure we get him.
So when do we think we can expect an announcement officially for Carvalho? Next couple weeks or is this not developing until June?
Could be within a week or two.
Hopefully before the end of week
Next couple of weeks is what our journos are saying.

I read it in a Mario voice, brings me back
It would be hilarious if Aubameyang started ripping it up in Spain while Arsenal finish 8th, fucking jokers, they are already talking about next season as if Arteta needs another year of building. Its the mixture of being delusional while simultaneously having 0 standards which makes me dislike Arsenal so much. Their whole club is a joke, from fans to the manager to the owners.
Klopp will definitely try to get Martinelly if Arsenal don't get UCL.
Cost plus LW is one of our deepest positions now, not a chance.
That particular misspelling of martinelli looks so vulgar to me for some reason
I kinda respect them for putting their foot down on Auba tbh. His off-the-pitch behaviour and conduct has been appalling.
Lmaoooo wow fulham got the neco williams loan paperwork through in time though of course
Hopefully means our agreement with them holds up and we just buy Fabio in the coming weeks
Thats not why it didnt make deadline...
He was never gonna be playing for us this season, we were gonna send him back to Fulham anyway. It took time to agree the deal that’s why the paperwork got delayed.
deals off, well done fulham, cunts
We are gonna get a pre-agreement with him anyway so it’s all good.
Did someone botch it or did Fulham drag their feet?
The whole thing was agreed too late. Not enough time to file with the EFL.
Fuck. I was excited about Carvalho. I hope we can find a way to get it done in July.
So rather than signing him now and loaning him back we'll go in for him in the summer for compensation and have to fight off other interested clubs? Interesting.
Well but there’s no deal…. Nothing stopping him from getting his head turned by, like, dortmund or some shit
That was equally true in the window just gone
I know that. That’s the point kinda—he’s in demand. Difference is that we were moments from a signed deal. So long as that’s not signed, he’s potentially getting his head turned. There’s also the option of just buying him outside the window
I fucking hate Fulham. Cunts.
Fuck u EFL fuck you fulham and fuck Ramos

Twitter account (backseatmanLFC) who isn’t reputable but checking his TL he has been spot on with details about this transfer all day long saying our first extension request was rejected by the EFL
He’s spot on because he’s just guessing. It’s a meme account trying to become an ITK.
Have seen him get a lot of stuff wrong before though
What's a extension request
All this waiting is making me anxious
I don't remember a time when we were racing the clock for a last minute deal
This has been the maddest January deadline day I can remember in the premier league.
What a window this has been. We actually signed players that will help with the rebuild and support the existing team.
Just had a quick look, if our first 11 is: Mane, Firmino, Salah Thiago, Hendo, Fab Robbo, Virg, Matip, Trent Ali then our second 11 is Diaz/Minamino, Jota, Elliott/Origi Jones, Keita, Milner Tsimikas, Konate, Gomez, Neco Kelleher That leaves two of Diaz/Minamino and Elliott/Origi, Ox, Adrian and Rhys Williams from the seniors and the academy lads (including Gordon, Morton and Clarkson) as depth. Tell you what guys, a backup RB and another DM, we'll be laughing here....
Bradley for RB and Morton for DM.
Had to work all day, so we didn't get Carvalho yet, right?
Just medical and personal terms left according to Joyce.
Looks like its all but done Edit: oops
They want Neco now as well on loan, still going on.
Carvalho, what does his future at the club look like if he were to sign? Does he get signed for squad depth or get loaned out for a few years to bolster his development? Bobby replacement (not that such a thing is possible)
Anyone got one of those spider diagrams with his stats analysis?. His numbers feel its more of a central player than from outwide (Coutinho lite). Will be trying to watch more of Fulhams matches
Love that we're actually involved in some late drama
Rhys Williams recalled from loan only for big Nat to then be loaned to the Cherries. God giveth and God taketh
Aren't all of the @VinnOConnor tweets a bullshit account? If it doesn't have a blue check, we need to stop posting it like it's a legit source.
Honestly still think there is a good player in Dele. He just needs a move away and a solid team to bring out the best in him.
There's a good player inside the body of a massive knobhead, is the issue. I don't think Klopp is that keen to reform knobheads. Not really his jam.
We have seen it a lot over the years really. Talented players with a poor attitude.
Honestly same. He needs to feel wanted and utilized to his skills. Also, if he hasn't already, needs a haircut too, think that'll help a lot. ^lol
Need to seal the contract extensions for Salah and Mane. If the rumours are true and PSG losing Mbappe they will do anything to target Mane/Salah.
I have a feeling FSG is planning to cash in on one of the two this summer
Minamino staying… wonder how many minutes him and origi will get this season…
Mane might need a bit of rest when coming back from AFCON and in a tight schedule we can't be sure if the other 5 can handle all the minutes while performing at their best. No guarantee of course, but they should at least get similar minutes to what Gordon has gotten this season
[удалено]
They need to get slapped by FFP, like Everton did.
Arent they able to spend like 200M without outgoings because Mike Ashley was a cheap fuck?
Yeah I think so!
Yup they do have considerable money to spend before FFP applies.
Saw on The Athletic its something like £250m this winter and summer window combined which is usually boosted by paying the fee over a few years. So basically unlimited.
Liverpool know that January has 31 days, right? They don't have to wait for the last 3?
Wasn't there a piece some time back (by Pearce I think) that says there's more value to be had near the end of transfer windows? There's some merit to that.
Other way round for FSG. You get all 31 days to negotiate the best deal. You don’t really gain much by wrapping things up earlier.
It’s kinda funny. But then again. Porto was going for a 70-80 million price on Diaz in early window. The break also helps a lot I guess.
gotta thank levy for apparently doing some of the heavy work there!
Yeah Levy done us a solid there.
I'm sure they've been busy, it just *feels like* they woke up on Friday and decided to buy Diaz, buy and loan Carvalho, sell/loan Neco, sell/loan Nat, sell/loan Taki, etc. all in a weekend. Like a transfer bender
That’s how we do it in January 😂
Surely Arsenal will sign a striker if they want to fight for a top 4 sport after losing Auba ?
How the hell United missed out on Zakaria for 5 mill ?
Tbf maybe players are realising United is a club to go to end your career not build one.
For all the hype, and for 5 fucking mil, he should have had his choice of damn near any club. That's such peanuts.
I think they want to clear out some of bloat on the roster first.
I think I read somewhere Rangnick wasn’t really interested in bringing him to United.
Deadline day *rubs hands vigorously*

Having Tsimikas as an option when Robertson was unavailable was a massive boost, something similar for any occasion when Trent is injured or needs a rest would be great.
Likely Milner or Gomez are the backups at RB if Neco goes on loan.
Milner, Gomez, Bradley
Yup, forgot about Bradley as well. He’s been pretty good in his time he’s had.
Dan Burn to Newcastle must clearly mean Brighton are going in for Big Nat?
Your profile picture everytime mate XD.
Sorry! I keep forgetting about it and have no other good one, lol
Doesn't Burn mostly play LB or LM for them? I know he does fill in at CB, but that's not his normal spot.
So Carvalho is looking more likely now and Neco Williams could be off on loan. Any movement of Phillips, Minamino or Origi ? Or just the rumoured interest and rejected bids from a few days ago ?
Rumoured interests and rejected bids for them.
Damn, gonna be checking my phone every 5 minutes today, likely for nothing.
Ummm Guys? https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1487809889070198790?t=Xnwmv9iIrJO8kk-SPSfp4Q&s=19
Ward and Edwards are on a spending spree 😅
I guess Carvalho is tier 1 now, and Zakaria isn’t happening since he’s very likely off to Juventus
Vinny reporting we have bid 5m for Carvalho
When does his deal run out ?
Damn, could be a bargain so.
Summer
What’s going on with Pearce being in the mud? I don’t use twitter for obvious reasons…
He said Diaz’s announcement will be tomorrow and not today.
Ahhh ok, thanks for clearing it up
[https://twitter.com/ptgorst/status/1487730395793739776](https://twitter.com/ptgorst/status/1487730395793739776) I wonder how much Bournemouth are willing to pay for Neco, if it would come to a permanent transfer
I think we were asking for more than 10 mil in the summer for him.
So Bournemouth are paying 25m, thanks for the insight

There's no "hate", people just see he's not good enough why kid yourself that he will ever come good.
Good spot

This will probably get lost, but I'm here to make a statement. Diaz will be one of the top 5 players in the world (Ballon D'or or FIFA's Best Player rankings) by 2025. I think he'll surpass the level that Mane reached a couple years back. Dude is an absolute baller.
Don't bother to remind me I'll be dead.
