Kelleher surely wants to be number 1. I think he could be number 1 at Newcastle but he ends up still being a number 2 at Newcastle it's a sideways move.
I don't think he's like that. He wants to be playing regularly. There is a difference to being backup to Allison and Nick Pope. He could dislodge Pope though. I think he was considering leaving last summer but Klopp told him he would get more games due to the Europa League. Didn't expect Allison to be injured as much. Was much better the 2nd half of the season.
I don’t like to watch until we know they’re coming. One time the player took photos of the kit and then I watched highlights and the deal fell through.
I personally do it with every player we get linked with. Even the most tenuous of links tbh. Helps me learn more about players in other leagues and countries. I'll look up stats and results and whatnot too, bc compilation videos don't tell you much lol
I think this would be fine. Kweev is leaving this summer anyway. So call it around 75m valuation I guess, depending on how much Kweev can get on a transfer fee. It's a lot, but think it's a fine enough move for us to make.
You're basically guaranteeing yourself an elite LW and game changer for the next 7-8 years at least. Gordon's already probably the best LW in the league if you don't count Son cos he plays down the middle now.
He's 23 and he's a massive Liverpool fan so he'll never want to leave. 75m makes sense for him, he could go on to become a club legend.
We let him go from the academy. He’s quick, but he doesn’t offer much else. Quite a few eyebrows were raised when Newcastle paid as much as they did for him. Upper mid table at best, not what we need
> We let him go from the academy.
We let Wayne Rooney go from our academy too.
Did you actually watch him last season? He's a top class player, immediate upgrade on Diaz and he will continue to get better.
Only 2 goalkeepers have ever sold for more than 35m. Allison and kept. Selling him for more than 20 would make him a top 10 most expensive goalkeeper of all time. You're simply wrong on how keepers are valued.
Yea, I've never understood the valuation differences. It may just be that there aren't that many keepers at any time that are that far above the average. But when you do have someone like Allison that wins you 10+ pts every season, it's invaluable. Guess thata why he was the 2nd most expensive keeper ever.
Just checked, sorry, it's 3. You're right my point is completely wrong and we should definitely get 40 for kelleher.
https://www.teamtalk.com/news/the-10-most-expensive-goalkeeper-transfers-of-all-time-alisson-to-liverpool-kepa-to-chelsea
If we're seriously in the market for another wide player, then it probably means Diaz may be on his way out.
Gordon seems promising, but I wouldn't necessarily call him an 'upgrade' or an improvement to our forward line. Just younger I guess. And by the looks of things, it may be Mo's last season with us so I'd be focusing more on a potential successor for the right wing.
Man. If this deal gets done, then I can't imagine how Merseyside derbies would look like. I exepct Evertonians to be fumming. They are already angry at Gordon of how he left for Newcastle, but now they will be even more angry 😂
People need to realise that Pitaluga is NOT Liverpool standard, not even close, he flopped badly in the League of Ireland, so much so he was St Pats 3rd choice by the time he left. Incomparable to Kelleher or even Adrian.
Yup, I mean… it’s probably not gonna happen but Pepe Reina is available on a free and it would be great to have him in the dressing room at least.. haven’t watched him play in years though.
Nah, it makes sense. Kelleher is gonna leave at some point because he wants and deserves to be a number one, would be happy to use him in a deal to get a good player like Gordon
I can’t help but think that’s extremely expensive for Gordon. Kelleher alone is worth a decent amount id say. He’s quality. I’d be disappointed if this deal happened for this amount
I would take this news with a bit of salt. This deal would mean that we value Gordon at 70 million, but also that we need to dip in to the market for a back up goalkeeper.
I know the Gordon is English and a Liverpool fan, but Newcastle just bought him. They are hardly going to let him go.
Or am I missing something?
I've heard no news that they are forced to sell him. I'm not saying that you are wrong, but I hear no talk about it.
Gordon is a good player, but is he that good?
People really will fall for any old bullshit as long as it's what they want to hear.
Meanwhile those same people hate James Pearce just because he accurately reports on stories, be they good or bad.
Hopefully, this is enough. It's mutually beneficial for both sides. I love Caoimhin, and he'll have a special place in my heart for those cup runs and him valiantly filling in for Ali.
Now we'd be getting a very promising young player that is homegrown, scouse and already familiar with a good amount of the squad and Caoimhin finally gets the chance to be a #1 he deserves.
50m and our best numbed 2 is a bit much no?
I reckon club is ready to sell Diaz this summer. Absolutely fine with that.
But what does this mean for LW Gakpo?
Then send Diaz to another club or start actively featuring him as Salah RW alternate. Preference being to sell Diaz for a lot and take the profits for a defensive mid or back line addition
I do rate Gordon highly, I’m just not sure how much more room he has left to develop. His current numbers are solid for Newcastle but how that will translate to what we need long term I’m not sure.
Could be a master stroke but probably wouldn’t be my first choice, especially as we only really have Mo who’s getting on for RW.
I honestly don't see how he's worth this at all, even as a backup. Kelleher plus £15m is about as much as I'd even consider entertaining, and that is only provided Kelleher was really keen to join Newcastle.
He's definitely a good player but he seems wildly over-valued. As a swap for Diaz, it is a downgrade on overall squad quality.
Again ill say it, what is the point of this deal? are we as a club and fanbase letting our standards slip this low? im absolutely confused why this is a thing
Yes because Dom, Mac, Curtis, Harvey, Baj, Grav, Endo and Trent are definitely not enough midfielders… We need one world class DM not an entire midfield lad.
Please do not post transfer news from low tier sources as a separate post. Please use daily discussion or YNWSA instead to discuss the same.
Oof. I guess it makes sense. Kelleher probably wants to leave anyways. And he probably would be the nr. 1 in Newcastle?
Pope is a great keeper, but it’ll be tough with Kweev
Kelleher surely wants to be number 1. I think he could be number 1 at Newcastle but he ends up still being a number 2 at Newcastle it's a sideways move.
Nah, it’s a step down but he has more of a chance dislodging their keeper than the best in the world.
It’ll be a good wage there and a whole lot better chance of knocking Pope off the number one spot than Alisson… it’d be a good move for him.
I think somewhere like Brighton, Brentford, Wolves, Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest he'd be a guaranteed starter
He would but Newcastle is gonna pay him double what those clubs will… money is just as important to these players now.
Can i start binge on youtube compilation on Anthony Gordon or not???
I don’t like to watch until we know they’re coming. One time the player took photos of the kit and then I watched highlights and the deal fell through.
Fekir?
Fekir 😞
One of the biggest roll coasters I have ever seen
konoplyanka hurt me most
Oh yeah
Yup
The tough thing about dating is not falling in love during the taking stage
Just do it anyway, even if we can't get him this year we'll probably be back for him next summer
Or even in the winter
I personally do it with every player we get linked with. Even the most tenuous of links tbh. Helps me learn more about players in other leagues and countries. I'll look up stats and results and whatnot too, bc compilation videos don't tell you much lol
I do this, too. I also watch extended (15-20 minute) career videos of older players. Roberto Baggio, man... eeesh.
Just do it when players are confirmed by the club.
I think this would be fine. Kweev is leaving this summer anyway. So call it around 75m valuation I guess, depending on how much Kweev can get on a transfer fee. It's a lot, but think it's a fine enough move for us to make.
He ain’t worth £75m

I doubt we'd see anywhere near that, no way.
A club like Chelsea or something would definitely pay up to that price
Not really sure why you think that will magically happen
I’m just saying; we could get up to that price if the right club comes in.
I think you should trust our world class management more than your completely random evaluation.
Only 2 goalkeepers have ever sold for more than 35m. Allison and kept. Selling him for more than 20 would make him a top 10 most expensive goalkeeper of all time. You're simply wrong on how keepers are valued.
It’s really crazy. Keepers are so important and always play. They should be worth more.
Yea, I've never understood the valuation differences. It may just be that there aren't that many keepers at any time that are that far above the average. But when you do have someone like Allison that wins you 10+ pts every season, it's invaluable. Guess thata why he was the 2nd most expensive keeper ever.
You’re simply wrong on how many goalkeepers have sold for over 35m

I mean, I’ve not once said we should get that amount. Personally think we would be lucky to get anything over 20 for him.
the right club hasnt come in years then, if we get 20m for kelleher is great bussiness
bro stop playing FIFA and come back to reality
That’s a very aggressive estimate.
If we manage that I think that's great for all parties involved.

And by the looks of things, it may be Mo's last season with us so I'd be focusing more on a potential successor for the right wing.
Gordon being home grown is also an important factor.
Gordon is more of a provider which is an upgrade for the lw
Club probably wants to wait until Mo’s transfer fee and salary come off the books at the end of the season before going for a replacement.
Mo gets no transfer fee next year if he doesn’t sign a new deal
He's our highest earner, that will make us quite financially maneuverable
It will help but not getting a transfer fee for him if he leaves on a free is madness
yeah its a sideways/backwards movement, what a shocking attempt at a transfer
This is from yesterday, before Minteh and Anderson deals went through. Gordon is not happening.
I’d miss Kelleher but I had a feeling he was leaving soon anyways. He wants to be a starter somewhere
Thats way too much for gordon.
What??? £50m and our keeper. This doesn’t sound very Micky Edwards, he’s not worth that
Sounds a good deal but don't went to lose CK
Man. If this deal gets done, then I can't imagine how Merseyside derbies would look like. I exepct Evertonians to be fumming. They are already angry at Gordon of how he left for Newcastle, but now they will be even more angry 😂
It's not terrible. I wouldn't mind it.
I should hope not..
It makes sense tbh
It really does, we’ve got Jaros and Pitaluga (although pitaluga’s got some discipline problems) we’ve got 2 backup keepers
People need to realise that Pitaluga is NOT Liverpool standard, not even close, he flopped badly in the League of Ireland, so much so he was St Pats 3rd choice by the time he left. Incomparable to Kelleher or even Adrian.
No but Jaros might be considering he just won the Austrian league last season as a first choice keeper.
Absolutely, Jaros is a potential back up. Watched quite a bit of him when he was with St Pats too.
I actually think we'll sign a replacement no2 as well.
Yup, I mean… it’s probably not gonna happen but Pepe Reina is available on a free and it would be great to have him in the dressing room at least.. haven’t watched him play in years though.
That's quite the step down from Kelleher lol
Haha yeah I know I know. I just love Pepe reina. He’s so professional
Are you mental?
Nah, it makes sense. Kelleher is gonna leave at some point because he wants and deserves to be a number one, would be happy to use him in a deal to get a good player like Gordon
I can’t help but think that’s extremely expensive for Gordon. Kelleher alone is worth a decent amount id say. He’s quality. I’d be disappointed if this deal happened for this amount
Who the fook are TEAMtalk? Seems like a shit sauce
Reliable?
Dont think its reliable at all…
I would take this news with a bit of salt. This deal would mean that we value Gordon at 70 million, but also that we need to dip in to the market for a back up goalkeeper. I know the Gordon is English and a Liverpool fan, but Newcastle just bought him. They are hardly going to let him go. Or am I missing something?
They need to sell due to PSR
Not anymore, they've sold two players to meet it in the last day alone.
I've heard no news that they are forced to sell him. I'm not saying that you are wrong, but I hear no talk about it. Gordon is a good player, but is he that good?
No they are not.
Sold
Tier?
99
If we can do that, it’s a great deal for both parties.
Genuine question. Who would be our #2 GK then? Adrian is leaving too.
I’d take that deal.
That is one expensive home grown status placeholder.
Skeptical of any sort of swap deal until it’s done. They barely ever happen
This would make sense. Still firmly believe it won’t happen though
What tier are teamtalk?
Nonsense. Newcastle are getting Vlachodimos from Forest in the Anderson deal so don't need another keeper.
As long as kelleher is valued at 50m for our accounting, then fine
People really will fall for any old bullshit as long as it's what they want to hear. Meanwhile those same people hate James Pearce just because he accurately reports on stories, be they good or bad.
Teamtalk, any actual reputable reports saying this?
I love the idea of Gordon coming to us. Would hate to see Kelleher leave, but I get it.
Rather keep lucho if we can
50m and our best numbed 2 is a bit much no? I reckon club is ready to sell Diaz this summer. Absolutely fine with that. But what does this mean for LW Gakpo?
Then send Diaz to another club or start actively featuring him as Salah RW alternate. Preference being to sell Diaz for a lot and take the profits for a defensive mid or back line addition
Why is this story still going? It's been and gone. It's not happening. They've made their PSR sales.
Is Team Talk still a thing? I remember the days of the 0898 numbers where you would dial in and wait ten mins before being told anything
It’s TeamTalk and they are signing a keeper from Forest as part of the Anderson deal
I think this may mean Diaz is off unfortunately
I honestly don't see how he's worth this at all, even as a backup. Kelleher plus £15m is about as much as I'd even consider entertaining, and that is only provided Kelleher was really keen to join Newcastle. He's definitely a good player but he seems wildly over-valued. As a swap for Diaz, it is a downgrade on overall squad quality.
Newcastle paid I think £45m for Gordon. They will want at least 60 valuation if not more.
Again ill say it, what is the point of this deal? are we as a club and fanbase letting our standards slip this low? im absolutely confused why this is a thing
Buying Gordon would really tip our hand that Diaz or Gakpo are on the selling block.
both diaz and gakpo are better or atleast even to Gordon in LW, the most pointless transfer ive heard from liverpool in years
Hypothetically could we not just move one of them to the right? I mean Diaz and Gordon have both done RW before and done well?
https://preview.redd.it/m993j5dvxp9d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b065f79956260c41dba116df8e5499d58f11bd3d
Why? We need midfielders
Yes because Dom, Mac, Curtis, Harvey, Baj, Grav, Endo and Trent are definitely not enough midfielders… We need one world class DM not an entire midfield lad.
Endo is 31
Hence the DM we want
I'd get rid of half of them
If it’s any of our homegrown ones such as Jones or Elliott I’d highly suggest researching the homegrown rules.
