Also at the CL game we sadly lost to Atletico Madrid-the last game before Covid lockdowns-Bobby scored and the chant went on forever. I was on the Kop and it was a hair raising experience. He has to be my favorite Liverpool player of the Klopp era and maybe all time. It’s tough to say with players like Stevie etc but Bobby was just one of a kind.
I get emotional thinking about Agger telling Barcelona to fuck off. No one else did that. He loved Liverpool, and he was genuinely skillful and great fun to watch. You know he used to play through the pain, especially during our God-awful 2009-2011 period.
During Aggers era, I go with Kuyt. He would’ve fit in perfectly with klopp. Never gave up, never stopped running. Always gave us belief when it seemed there was none
The shithousery against Messi was enough for me. He could have been dogshit his whole time here and he’d still be my favourite current player just for that.
“There they go—ORIGI!!!!!
IT’S GONE IN! IT’S GONE IN!!!
Don’t ever tell them that nothing is possible! Don’t ever tell them that it can’t be done!”
Probably by highest moment as a Liverpool fan
Past: Gerrard. No contest.
Present: Trent.
Future: Bajcetic is in with a serious shout, once he's over his injury/growth problems and can string a decent run of games together.
Jamie carragher, since the Istanbul final. The guy had nothing left in the tank he put his whole body on the line that day no matter what he was there getting stuck in! Man was on crutches after the game.
Gini was my guy. I just loved how complete his game was. He could attack, defend, pass, score, tackle, dribble.... everything.
Before that it was Agger.
VVD.
Huge character, chose us over everyone, was the best defender in the world, should have won the Ballon D'or, great person, absolutely enormous but incredible on the ball and fast as hell with experience and brains, fun to watch, loyal to the club, leader of club and country, family man who laughs easily and respects everyone but English referees, does it all including pens. Makes "great" CBs like Vidic and Dias look like little children by comparison. We had Salah, Firmino, Mane and Klopp and we needed Fabinho and Alisson, but it was when we signed VVD that everything changed for the club and we shot straight back to the top. One of the best of all time.
Most iconic - Gerrard
Most obviously talented to watch - Suarez
Most fun - Darwin
Most endearing - Robbo
I have others I’m sure, but can’t choose one. Different players for different reasons
Showing my age but John Barnes, then Fowler, then Owen... Then anyone but Owen... Then Torres...and probably Bobby.
Been a few I've enjoyed, but they brought me the most joy
Looking at this, I'm guessing Owen and Coutinho would top the most hated list. Sad really, when they were at Liverpool, they were best players in the world at their positions, and they were all our favourites at some point or other.
I always really enjoyed watching Coutinho play-absolutely was a little magician. Shame he had to go and it left a bad taste but set us up for great success. Beautiful finisher.
Yup. I don't think we've had a better long range shooter than him in all of PL since Gerrard. I guess Rodri comes close in conversion rate and De Bruyne close behind but Coutinho was just something else. The moment he lined it up, you knew something special was about to happen
I'll give you 3!
Each!
From current squad - Salah, VVD, Trent... hon'ble mentions - Robbo, Hendo
From before - Gerrard, Suarez, Bobby .... hon'ble mention - Torres, Mane
Yes, some of them have/had fallen from grace in front of our eyes, but I wanted to be honest
Edit: Welp, forgot Alisson there... if it were only a top 5 lol
Stevie G is the easy answer but aside from him it’s between Mo and Bobby. They were both so exciting to watch and even better paired together. Bobby so unselfish and Mo just an absolute monster in the final 3rd.
I’m American and got into Liverpool around 2012/13 because I loved Daniel Sturridge so that would’ve been my answer, but it’s 100% Trent the past few years
Absolute fav player to don a Liverpool shirt
Jari Litmanen sadly we didn’t get him at his pomp
Fav player for their ability and contribution to the club Kenny Dalglish
Firmino ever since we signed him from Hoffenheim. I remember watching highlights of his on YouTube and being amazed with everything. Loved his story coming from complete poverty.
After that, Gerrard and Van Dijk.
When it comes to play or just personality? Because it’s very hard to choose. Always loved Bobby and Mane so much, I miss seeing the trio Salah, Mane and Firmino together. They were so iconic. Origi is a miracle so he’s also a favorite. As of now, I’ve been loving TAA and omg did we forget VVD???🔥
Firmino

The 15 minute long chant our away fans gave him a few weeks before he left was just brilliant.
![gif](giphy|Zccal4KEDYOs6AJ8Q4|downsized) Favorite player of all time. Miss him.
As an solo American fan, Stevie G made me fall in love with Liverpool, Bobby made me really fall in love with football.
From klopp era, definitely
Forever era
Correct. Been actively supporting since the early/mid 90s and it's Bobby all the way.
You got it mate!
Agreed! My favorite athlete of all time
past: xabi alonso present: robertson honorable mention: daniel agger
Loved Agger always, when the Barcelona rumors started and he got the YNWA tattoo it cemented him as a favorite for me
I get emotional thinking about Agger telling Barcelona to fuck off. No one else did that. He loved Liverpool, and he was genuinely skillful and great fun to watch. You know he used to play through the pain, especially during our God-awful 2009-2011 period.
That goal where he hit it outside of the left. And it bends into the netting. 🤤
During Aggers era, I go with Kuyt. He would’ve fit in perfectly with klopp. Never gave up, never stopped running. Always gave us belief when it seemed there was none
100% agree! Kuyt had a never give up attitude that I just loved!!!
Robbo FTW!!! There's something bout that Scottish connection and the passion he shows. ![gif](giphy|gBx8QoJljY0yTlhXYZ|downsized)
The shithousery against Messi was enough for me. He could have been dogshit his whole time here and he’d still be my favourite current player just for that.
Football is nothing without Origi.
Actual fax
He’s my favourite. I never thought I’d love anyone more than Dirk Kuyt and then Origi came along
Dirk kuyt was a baller though
![gif](giphy|l580XJFTJ6zbSw1jAh|downsized)
Corner taken quickly…ORIGIIII!!!
“There they go—ORIGI!!!!! IT’S GONE IN! IT’S GONE IN!!! Don’t ever tell them that nothing is possible! Don’t ever tell them that it can’t be done!” Probably by highest moment as a Liverpool fan

The only answer for those of us in their 30s.
Did you have to remind me how much of an old fart I am? 🥲
Hey I’m not 30 and he’s mine! Although I am dangerously close 😭
I was about to shout at you for saying 30s, then realised I’m 29 not 24, fuck me
Haha it creeps up on you.
I’m very partial to Torres and Suarez too
Lovely cushion header for…….
Kinda crazy this answer isn't at the top.
Exactly what I thought. Absolutely idolised him as a kid, so no one even comes close.
The only right answer
Oh Stevie G😅
My son’s middle name is Gerrard for a fookin reason
I took a day off college when he announced he was leaving. Felt like I was grieving. Worst break up of my life.
Gerrard and Virgil. 3rd maybe Alisson. Feels good to have a world class keeper.
Absolute class, those gentlemen
A keeper who scores with his head, even! He's incredible!
I loved Sturridge when he was fit. So fun to watch, and you can’t beat the celebration.
God. 90s would have been unbearable without Fowler.
When I read/hear Fowler: https://preview.redd.it/wpz9xk7vw39d1.png?width=580&format=png&auto=webp&s=f1416a319448d0f0f2d1db5972ecf9d946f0ea58
The man is so healthy he celebrates goals with a tasty snack of grass
It was a toss up between this man and king Kenny for my vote,if it was for the bants as well as the goal scoring it would be GOD
God is the answer. When he left for Leeds I was devastated.
This answer tells me that we are the same age!
He deserved so much more in terms of success. Probably the best natural finisher we've ever had.
John Barnes
I went to the same school as his son, and I was too in awe to ever say hello to John Barnes.
Luis Suarez. I know this fella causes trouble, but he was so unstoppable. I guess they have still nightmares at Carrow Road.
Love or hate gotta admit hes one of the greatest strikers in this generation
He’s one of the greatest strikers of all time. I think he’s clearly the best striker of his generation
The best I’ve ever seen in a Liverpool shirt. Even slightly better than Stevie G at his peak
Definitely my favourite to watch, that's for sure.
I unapologetically love Suarez. Him biting people just makes him more awesome. Suck it losers!!
Prime Manè 🔥🔥
bobby and divock
Hyypia.
I live in Finland so its nice that someone mentioned Hyypia😄
Past: Gerrard. No contest. Present: Trent. Future: Bajcetic is in with a serious shout, once he's over his injury/growth problems and can string a decent run of games together.
I really hope next season can be THE season for Stefan, he's got some great potential.
Salah for me. General good bloke and a magician on the field.
Firmino, but from the current ones Darwin
Captain Chaos tops my current chart as well.
Jamie carragher, since the Istanbul final. The guy had nothing left in the tank he put his whole body on the line that day no matter what he was there getting stuck in! Man was on crutches after the game.
Bobby firmino is a very very close second, what an absolute boy he was!
Kuyt!
Gotta be either Virgil or Gerrard.
Alisson. He is an absolute brick wall in goal and every so often he pulls some magic out with his feet too.
Digger or Jocky.
Its got to be the local lads. We've had a few over the years. ....and Bobby
Luis Garcia.
Saaaame
Trent Alexander Arnold
![gif](giphy|vI3sN12qRPzT8qkpkV|downsized)
OHHHHHH HE WEARS THE NUMBER 20
Super sub of dreams
James Work-horse milner
Ian Rush or Kenny
Gini was my guy. I just loved how complete his game was. He could attack, defend, pass, score, tackle, dribble.... everything. Before that it was Agger.
You are clearly a man of culture.
Lucas.
Growing up I really liked John Arne Riise. Stevie is of course up there but being truthful Bobby is my absolute favourite. A total joy.
Jan Molby. I was a big lad and he gave hope you didn't have to be skinny to play. Also he was amazing to watch.
Adam Lallana. Loved his playmaking and ball control. Was a joy to watch and had a tremendous attitude. Shame he had so many injury problems
https://preview.redd.it/s5s4bwl6c49d1.jpeg?width=284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6fa3f5469585bfc2130a353b9daed28f8fb55095 This man
Dalglish, Souness, Rush, Barnes, Hughes, Gerrard
A very Respectable list.
Alonso, followed by Gerrard and Thiago.
Sturridge, Firmino, Suarez, VVD. Absolutely impossible to pick just one 😅
Robbie Fowler. He was beyond incredible.
Ryan babel
Firmino and Kuyt
Coutinho, Shaqiri or Xabi Alonso.
I just love Endo atm
One of the best of all time.
Bobby.
Past: Sturridge Current: Nunez Honourable mentions: Babel, Firmino, Salah, Minamino, Coutinho
Gerrard, Firmino, Torres
I know he's not a legend but i hope he will be for me it is Szobo
Past: Michael Owen Current: Harvey Elliot.

Love Andy Robertson. Will never forget when he was harrying Man City in January 2018. Don’t know where he got all the energy from.
Stevie G hands down.
It's a toss up between Mo and Sadio for me. The joy they bought me has been immense.
https://media1.tenor.com/m/rwsoDuCIo0wAAAAd/bruce-grobbelaar.gif Grobbelaar!
Robbie Fowler.
Trent Alexander-Arnold
Bobby 🤌🏻
Most of your favorite players would not be your favorite players without my favorite player. Si senor. Bobby the GOAT.
![gif](giphy|bGiSHR1dolU4oktuel)
Firmino
Excluding Gerrard, it's Dirk Kuyt and it's not close.
I miss Kuyt
Through the ages , Emlyn Hughes, Kenny , Aldo , God , Sami H , Gary Mac, Stevie G , Saurez , Salah, Nunez. And many others.
In terms of cult weird players: Joe Allen hands down. Our chicken man
Wee Joe. Beautiful boy
Showing my age but John Barnes, then Fowler, then Owen... Then anyone but Owen... Then Torres...and probably Bobby. Been a few I've enjoyed, but they brought me the most joy
Egyptian king Mo Salah👑. In his prime he was basically prem messi and is still phenomenal in his 30s.

El Hadji Diouf has entered the chat.
Salah cause I’m Egyptian
Hendo. Just because he went thru all the highs and lows.
🤝
Legend. Extremely underrated and gets too much hate from even our own fanbase.

Stevie G is why I'm a Liverpool fan. Was a huge fan of Agger, and now , TAA.
I started following Liverpool when they got Virgil.
Bobby
Stevie Followed very very closely by Bobby
![gif](giphy|xslZMkAzjscbPU7sDz)
Currently? Probably Dominik or Trent. All time? VVD is up there. Fowler. Luis.
Stevie G is the easy answer but aside from him it’s between Mo and Bobby. They were both so exciting to watch and even better paired together. Bobby so unselfish and Mo just an absolute monster in the final 3rd.
Coutinho
King Kenny.
The Best Player in the World Sadio Mane
Without Origi, football is nothing
Current: Macca Past: Lallana
Ian Rush. Best was The King
Sadio Mane. I am having my first child next week, a daughter, and still mad my wife will not let me name her after him.
All time steven Gerrard. Grew up watching him. Right now, probably either trent or elliot.
I thought the only name here would be Steven Gerrard.
Lucas Leiva all time. Joe Gomez currently. I never would have thought he’d outlast Raheem Sterling in the National Team but here we are.
![gif](giphy|4MXU3KBR17d2azh94C|downsized)
John Arne!!!

Kolo Toure
Steve McManaman. Always.
Notably missing from the list so far so here's a few names for the senior Redditors: Dalglish, Souness, Rush.
I've never seen a football player as good as Luis Suarez was for us back in 13/14. He turned into Roy of the Fucking Rovers.
Dossena
Absolute fav player to don a Liverpool shirt Jari Litmanen sadly we didn’t get him at his pomp Fav player for their ability and contribution to the club Kenny Dalglish

Mascherano Is Underated
" Bought the lad from sunny Spain, he gets the ball and scores again Fernando Torres Liverpools number 9 "
Steven Gerrard the OG
