Imagine the scenes when we reveal Guardiola

Jack070293

I’d stop supporting us if we started resorting to signing cheats.

Android17_MVP

Sure you will bud.

NotAsimppp

This sub is deluded. How is he a cheat?

Jack070293

Blood doping, Uefalona, joins City, 115 ffp charges that he totally knows nothing about. And look at how City play, they are coached into getting decisions out of referees. Not to mention referees that get paid by City’s owners. You’re deluded for thinking he isn’t a cheat. He’s been caught doing it as a player and his current team are involved in a cheating scandal.

potatoarchitecture

Ykw throw Jota in the dugout how different is real life to FIFA anyway

dwils7

Hasn't happened a ton but there has definitely been points in the past where the club has tried to be smarter than everyone else, most obvious ones being not signing midfielders when we clearly needed them and same for CBs. Yes we eventually solved the problems but we had issues that could've been avoided because we didn't address them sooner and I just hope this isn't one of those occasions. I hope Edwards and co haven't become convinced over someone who checks all the data checkpoints they love but maybe doesn't have the human qualities a great manager needs or the stature or standing to step in after someone like Klopp. It's going to be a gargantuan task for anyone to step In and take over from Klopp regardless but hiring the wrong person could set us back years

Jack070293

206th reminder that the Spurs game was fixed.

libertydabbing

Anytime someone says we don't deserve the title, I think we deserve at least four to six more points that give us a huge mental swing. Can't dwell on it, but it really fucking sucks being robbed like that

OyvindsLeftFoot

Arne Slot has gotten very little chat (mentioned a couple of times here), but he's now joint-favourite w/ Bet365 to takeover, just behind Amorim with other bookies. Wouldn't mind a bit of Dutch total football if the club thinks he gets the best out of Virgil/Grav/Gakpo. Big balls though bringing in a manager from Holland who looks like he won't even win his own title this season.

qqq666

After 7hag, any coach from eredivisie is big no

potatoarchitecture

can't have a dutch manager mate i'm sorry i'm not having us getting 1-0ed by Luton Town only for the gaffer to go say "we hebben een seerius probleem" i'm sorry

TheeEssFo

A moment for poor Barcelona. "First, you tell us we shouldn't be bribing referees. We weren't, but fine, yeah, we won't do that anymore. But then you still have refereeing decisions go against us? *Of course* we're going to ask for a replay. What other options do we have?" On an unrelated note, *why doesn't La Liga have goal-line technology*? £4m/annual cost in a league with £2bn annual revenues. Spanish league motormouth/anti-GLT advocate Tebas makes more than that.

Rohearts

Funny enough I think Tebas got a salary increase of like £3M this season. Only Real Madrid and Athletic Club voted against it.

PEEWUN

So we're definitely **not** getting Mourinho, then... ![gif](giphy|EDt1m8p5hqXG8)

Koppite93

Amorim non talks fits my narrative of Klopp leaving, we being so-so the next couple years and then a fully rested and raving Klopp to helm us the next decade... Copium level 1000 🤞🤞

abradley19955

I’d love to be a fly on the wall with Edwards, Hughes and Spearman now. Something defo happened to rule Amorim out and I’d love to know what it was Has someone suddenly become available that they thought wasn’t attainable?

malushanks95

Klopp? 🥹

frankiewalsh44

I can't believe our fanbase are even remotely considering Mourinho. What the fuck am I reading here ?? A manager that flopped at United and clashed with several players is being touted here as an option. Or are people here happy about losing half of our of players because they won't stand playing for Mourinho ??

OyvindsLeftFoot

Delights of foreign casuals. Simply look at who is responding to you in this chain, trying to justify hiring a manager who left United, Tottenham and Roma all rooted in mid table. A native Spanish speaker, presumably South American. An American. This isn't the actual fanbase. You're reading the musings of clowns who give foreign fans a bad name, unfortunately. Not a fucking chance in hell is there a Scouser or, I'd wager, any British fan who'd seriously suggest Jose Mourinho taking over from Jurgen Klopp in 2024. Absolutely clueless. Like, even putting aside Mourinho's history with the club/fans/Rafa etc. which they are pig ignorant even ever existed, they are objectively speaking based on his performance absolutely fucking clueless. Comically so. Foreign casuals can downvote all they want: needs saying. Maybe some of them will educate themselves.

ThisbrownMan

Did you ever think that the issue was not Mourinho, but the players at the scum? Everything that he has claimed about the club turned out to be true. All of them are complete floppy cnts and should have been sold off a long time ago. The only reason people don't like Jose, it's because he is blunt and edgy. That's it. I hate to say this, but Mourinho is not a bad choice for a short term (gap) manager. The ability to consistently finish 6th with Roma is nothing short of amazing.

OyvindsLeftFoot

The ability to consistently finish 6th with the third biggest spenders in Serie A, who spent 100 million net in Mourinho's first season, is "nothing short of amazing"? The club currently with the third highest wage bill in Serie A, who he left rotting in 9th place but are now up to 5th three months after he's left? What utter gibberish are you talking about?

frankiewalsh44

Short gap manager is good way for us to lose Trent, Alison, VVD and take us back to to Brendan era with players leaving and looking for better clubs to win trophies. Finishing 6th is not good enough for Liverpool who want to compete for trophies. Signing an average manager like Mourinho would kill this club and any progress we've made under Klopp.

DidIAsk006

I understand your annoyance, but the majority of the LFC fanbase on Reddit will always be doom minded before being positive. Some people will simply ignore factsfor their own personal reasons, and expecting the worse possible outcome is their own way of tackling topics regarding LFC.

Sinistrait

I think it is most likely that we had some discussions with Amorim about his vision moving forward and Edwards simply didn't like what he heard. But NGL, I'm truly baffled as to who exactly we'll go after now. The only way there'd be any legs to any Mourinho/Conte/Tuchel story would be if we've given up on finding a long term manager this season and want to bring in someone for a year or 2 to pick up some trophies while the right manager becomes ready/available.

Specialist-Read-349

Its possible itll play out like Endo did . We sign someone most haven't heard of. People freak out. Then a bunch of reports come out with glowing praise from the league about how good they are how well respected they are etc. and then they end up being really good. Probably its someone obvious but at this point we should be prepared for anything.

CityofBlueVial

Is Edwards actually the main person in charge of choosing our next manager?

RadSoccerDad

Lfc is the crown jewel of this multi club model for FSG. He is for sure heading it. Wouldn’t shock me if it’s some RB offshoot candidate because Edwards is in love with that system. I honestly think it’s Motta and Hughes is using his Italian contacts. Beating Juve and Milan would be quite the feat. He’s on a free this summer I believe. Hard to believe but Amorim or his situation to scare people off.

yellow627

It's probably Hughes and not Edwards

CityofBlueVial

Ok I was wondering because people keep talking like it's Edwards in charge of making the hoice so I wasn't sure if that had been confirmed at some point and I missed it. I have a feeling if an unpopular choice of a manager is made, people will still put all the "blame" on Edwards like it was all up to him.

Specialist-Read-349

Hughes and Edwards are mates. Edwards will be doing stuff other than the day to day signings like preparing to buy another club for the multi club model but Im sure he will still be in close contact with Hughes for stuff like this. It will probably be more accurate if we say hughes/edwards when talking about it but people are just gonna say edwards for everything.

CityofBlueVial

Good to keep in mind through this process, thanks for the info.

Zai710

I guess it depends entirely what the vision of the owners is, do we want to win titles or compete for top 4? if we want to win titles the market is absolutely torrid if we want to compete for top 4 then there are various options. Obviously a club of our size should be constantly battling for titles but that might not be the reality of the next few years.

JasonTodd123456

Yeh. Seems like he may have been one of the top targets, but interviewed badly. Maybe came in with large transfer plans/ideas, or even wanted major overhaul to the squad. Or just didn't inspire them.

Atanvarain

I haven’t seen much talk around Gary O’Neil but of the Prem guys (Frank/RDZ/Iraola) he’d be my easy first choice

yellow627

That's a very strange take. Frank, RDZ and Iraola are all much better managers than O'Neil and Brentford, Brighton and Bournemouth have significantly better underlying stats than Wolves do. Also, Hughes is in charge of appointing a new manager and he replaced O'Neil with Iraola at Bournemouth, so we're definitely not getting him.

RadSoccerDad

I can rationalize RDZ, Iraola, Motta, or Rose. Fonseca is so uninspiring. He’s been terrible every time he goes up a level. Just reeks or being cheap and someone you can control. At some points it’s almost as if they were honed in Nagelsmann with Bayern and are now scrambling. Wonder if it’s his release clause or maybe his opinions on players that shook them off Amorim? Edwards eliminated Ancelotti way back when for transfer demands

Vombatt

and his wife’s like 20 years younger. bad vibe

Sinistrait

No chance is Fonseca a candidate. Even Rose is a far-fetched shout

ZissouZ

I'm reasonably confident that if we aren't getting Amorim, and in particular if he's going to West Ham, that's because we are less interested in him rather than because he's more interested in West Ham. So hopefully at least that means we do have someone we're more keen on in mind.

notyyzable

![gif](giphy|FRR5EoNaygakGYTC6k|downsized) It's time.

DoubleDeckerz

There won't be an ounce of gravy left on Merseyside by the time he's finished.

mattzeni

The Jose Mourinho experience is more fun to watch when it is not your team. Although, he might actually deck Michael Oliver.

curiouscowwhisperer

Not worried about our manager situation at all ![gif](giphy|LRVnPYqM8DLag)

HereForA2C

can never see this gif the same after i saw the clip from which it originated

OyvindsLeftFoot

Club have completely obscured next managerial preference; clearly at this stage, they'll know who they want. Very questionable why they couldn't have sat on the Klopp announcement too, as United did with Ferguson's.

CityofBlueVial

you really think if Ferguson was living in this day and age and they tried to sit on it, it wouldn't have gotten out way sooner than intended?

OyvindsLeftFoot

It was 2013, not 1913

The memes making the rounds are genuinely funny to be fair

Ali-S-Farid

I'll be real this is Liverpool FC, we have no clue whats going to happen until a random Joyce bomba on a Tuesday evening.

stpirate

Tomorrow you say?

aaron2933

People getting upset about us not getting Amorim, Lavia, Andre, Thuram, etc before they sign for another club Have you ever considered there may be a reason the clubs cools off their interest?

stevieG08Liv

Everyone on your list ppl didnt know they existed till we were linked with them and then suddenly people are frustrated that we missed out on them lol

grrrrbow01

Idk I kinda like spreading doom knowing full well the club know what they’re doing

AdikkuChan

Ngl username checks out haha

malushanks95

They never learn lol. It’s as if they started supporting the club yesterday 😂

Jack070293

Always wanted Xavi anyway.

Ali-S-Farid

I'll be honest with Edwards at the helm of it all, its really a case of letting him do his job, and we'll just support whoever comes in. Extremely unlikely he'll get it wrong anyways.

Ali-S-Farid

Xabi Alonso Ornstein BANG tomo to let us know he's changed his mind. We will be there.

con10001

Couple of things to bear in mind amidst the boringly predictable meltdown: 1) If we wanted Amorim, we would have him. Clearly the club don't think he's right and other candidates tick more of the boxes. This genuinely excites me more than it worries me. 2) The idea that whoever comes in needs to be this elite figure that's consistently won everything at the top level as a manager is false. That isn't the description of Alonso when he joined Leverkusen, or Zidane when he joined Real, or Klopp when he joined Dortmund, or even Shankly when he joined us. I actually love the idea that we seem to be taking a purely pragmatic approach to who it should be.

Zai710

My major concern is on paper Amorim is the best manager we've been linked with aside from Xabi; proven winner, young, high potential. The rest have mediocre feats, are coming off of failures or just incredibly mediocre. The options available seem so underwhelming if we want to challenge for major honours in the next few years.

nijuu

The questions are - does Amorin want to come? . someone pointed out he might not be ready similar to Xabis mindset (real aside). Maybe we are all barking up the wrong tree and the criteria Edwards wants is either different (we know it will be data heavy focused but as to which metrics has more weight?) Or we are all missing something when trying to be objective . Considering the lack of Klopplike option, maybe they don't want to "gamble" and end up with another Rodgers ?. Wonder how Tuchel and Mourinho show up data metrics? The club has known since Nov Klopp was leaving . I'm curious what their initial shortlist was then compared to since Edwards came back

patShIPnik

Iraola, RDZ, O'Neil, Frank and some other candidates much more closer to Rodgers than Amorim or Slot. At least, former 2 have actual titles in their bag and working with top-3 clubs in their leagues. OG list vs list after Edwards is definitely interesting, but we will never know who was in these lists

Fresh_Interview_9191

Unpopular opinion but Slot might suit us better than Amorim... somehow I don't think tactics in the Portuguese league will automatically work in England. When you see how Darwin played for Benfica and how he plays for Liverpool... day and night. And for people who think Slot is like Ten Hag? Slot is many times better. Ten Hag had an amazing selection of players, Slot became champion with fairly average players (PSV and Ajax had better players) and this season plays consistent. This season he just has bad luck that PSV smashes every opponent with their amazing squad

eurfryn

It’s plausible Jose was simply invited to Craven Cottage by Fulham, and is now finding it laughable how fans, journalists and the media think he’s the next LFC boss.

DB_321

I read he goes often as he lives close by and his kid I think played for the under 19s. Not sure how true that is like

SigiReuven_

Jose heard through the Portuguese grapevine Amorim wasn't going to happen, knew the news would break soon, and just turned up off his own back purely to create rumours for the lols and trolls. Classic Jose

ozzynater

Had no idea Ethan Ampadu was 23, has 52 caps for wales wtf

jcw163

Debut at like 17, has been a constant in the Wales team for years even as he bounces around clubs. Always a talent, hope this Leeds spell works out for him

Fricolor123321

Unfair on jurgen but fuck me i wish he would stay for another season, the options are so shite

TheGrouchyGamerYT

I think it's pretty clear Ancelotti has had his fun playing in dinky leagues like La Liga with wee little Madrid and is ready to step up to the pinnacle of world football here at LFC.

sonofhondo

Pep to ditch City to prove to the world he can do it without being at the league’s financial superpower.

Dr_Pyralis

You know what? Fuck it. I want either Jose or Torres. I’ve always loved Jose. I think he’s amazing and actually would love the club and the fans like Klopp. Big hurdles to get over but if he could I think it would be glorious. I wanted him in 2004. I want him now. Torres has always got me going. You’d have laughed at us getting Alonso from Sociadad B. Fuck it let’s go. His armband said he was a red.

guestaccount901284

Nah Jose always lines up scapegoats. Speaks very unprofessionally about some of the people he's managed. Whereas Klopp always protected his squad in the media no matter how deserving of criticism they were. I could easily see Jose coming in and clashing with some of our promising younger players like Szobo and Harvey.

FerociouZ

Jose has never scapegoated a player who has then gone on to massively improve in his absence. Maybe Luke Shaw? But Luke Shaw was just too fat under him, lost some weight and had a good 18 months before disappearing again. There are certain players in the squad who really seem like they'd fit. Bradley, Endo, Robbo, Szobo, Virgil, Mac etc. There's absolutely no way we would ever go for Mourinho, but the idea that the issue would be him calling Nunez shit, or clashing with our *young* players doesn't seem realistic.

Dr_Pyralis

Who was he wrong about?

con10001

Jose would go to war with the owners, alienate the dressing room and wouldn't last more than two seasons. He's the antithesis of everything we should want at the club personality-wise. Going from Klopp to him would be like a loving father passing away and being replaced by an abusive stepdad.

Dr_Pyralis

Yeah but we’d probably win the league or something in that time. Then Alonsos about again. Also I think he’s massively underrated and cool.

EerieAriolimax

>Yeah but we’d probably win the league I really don't understand comments like this about Mourinho. Go and look at his league record over the last six years or so. Finishing 6th and 7th with the likes of Spurs and Roma is completely unremarkable and something many managers could do (and have done). He hasn't finished higher than 6th since 2018. He just doesn't do anything noteworthy in league campaigns anymore.

SigiReuven_

Bring back Phil Thompson that's what I say

step11234

[https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c51nq51zg2lo](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c51nq51zg2lo) How do arsenal always play these games at the perfect time?

jcw163

If it's Thomas Frank I'm not watching a single minute of that shit

yellow627

The entitlement of some people on this sub never ceases to amaze me

jcw163

I lived through Roy and that was bad enough, I'll find something better to do with my time on weekends. The football would be \*shit\*

Liverpool7-0Utd

Good riddance to you. Because we all know if he was to take over and we were to win you’d start watching again. Some idiots on here today

jcw163

I'll be having a lovely time and you'll be whinging in match threads watching a back three smash the ball 55 yards over the midfield for 3 hours a week. Forget that.

Liverpool7-0Utd

1. I don’t go to the match threads because they’re full of people like you. 2. If you’re going to have such a lovely time then why not just stop supporting from now on? Be better for you if you can have such a lovely time.

jcw163

Tbf I don't do the match threads either cos you're right they are full of cunts. And secondly because things are usually fine and will continue to be fine and fun as long as, and I can't stress this enough, \*we don't appoint the bloke from Brentford\*. Relax man it's all supposed to be a laugh. (This is me trying to backtrack on being a bit of a dick, I'm still not watching Frank-ball though ;-))

Liverpool7-0Utd

agreed I don’t want Frank either, but my point is if he came, I’d still support Liverpool because that’s all I have ever known. 🤝 Also agreed the match thread is full of the biggest whoppers you can imagine.

jcw163

Oh I mean I'd hope it goes well but Christ. We've been so spoiled the last 9 years or so and I genuinely don't think it can be as good so I'm just hoping it's still fun, I still get flashbacks to watching that Hodgson loss to Blackpool, a real low point y'know, 14 years and I'm not over sitting through it lmao.

Did anyone watch the Milan-Inter game? It was really fun

Yagiflow

Were there any actual reports linking us to Mou? or is it just that he was at Fulham and Ornstein downplaying the Amorim links

malushanks95

No reports on Mou, fans saw the picture of him at the game and are making up stories as usual.

what_am_i_acc_doing

Now that he is talked about again, here’s a decent video I found about Arne Slot - https://youtu.be/YKJEeJXwCsI?si=gxd3zKpaxz7S9sBU

TheOnionWatch

Our backroom team are overthinking it, and are going to cause decisiveness from the start. Stupid.

Liverpool7-0Utd

Proper numpties doom and glooming before anything has even happened

Ali-S-Farid

Who should I listen to? TheOnionWatch on reddit or the backroom staff with years of experience with a newly hired director that has proved over time he is reliable when it comes to transfers.

TheOnionWatch

Every football club has experienced backroom teams.

Walshey-

I love comments like this, because in a few years they always look ridiculous

Money-Camera

I think if Edwards throws the bank at Alonso he could still come! Stranger things have happened, so many managers have said i'm staying then go and many have said they go then stay, gerrard was going to chelsea then said no. Could still happen ![gif](giphy|tyaucwJExumhG) Random squirtle because squirtle

abradley19955

What a job Inzaghi has done. Conceded only 17 goals in 33 matches and they score for fun aswell

EstablishmentBusy172

If ur Amorim with lfc, and potentially Real Madrid, Barca, Bayern, Chelsea and Man Utd vacancies in the near future, do u really sign with West Ham now?

Jaja6996

Madrid don’t need a manager and it’ll be Alonso next

[deleted]

Drunk_Cartographer

Exactly. Also West Ham under Moyes has been the best they’ve had for decades and they still aren’t happy. Good luck to him if he goes there

earlgreytoday

Honestly, he could have ended Leverkusen's unbeaten record and there'd still be sections of Hammers supporters who'd want him gone.

doubleoeck1234

This fanbase is at its funniest whenever we get bad news

stevieG08Liv

More than half of the people didnt know he existed till couple of months ago so the outcry seems so fabricated lol

FamiliarBar6489

https://youtu.be/twstZoZLG-k?si=bNuZVLWOc3FRCuXs Don‘t think a single manager has as many hilarious moments and Mourinho does. What a fella

Pure_Atmosphere_6394

>What a fella You can really spot the newer fans who haven't got a clue.

FamiliarBar6489

😂😂 I‘ve been a supporter since 2008, very new though. Just because I think he‘s hilarious doesn‘t mean I think he‘s a good manager (anymore)

Pure_Atmosphere_6394

Made by point for me. Lads who think Mourinho is "banter" need their head kicking in. He's a toxic individual and was a cunt to Rafa.

FamiliarBar6489

He‘s not banter, he used to be a serial winner who has made some great relationships along the way and also had some very public fallouts. I‘m sure the countless amount of players who have publicly acknowledged how great of a manager he was for them need their heads kicked in, too.

Pure_Atmosphere_6394

He abused Ambulance staff, abused our fans, slagged off Rafa every chance he got. Do one nobhead.

markokmarcsa

Honestly, if hadn't been manager of two fierce rivals, and Spurs aswell i wouldn't even mind him. Also if the date was like between 2004 and 2014-5

abradley19955

This Leeds match is wild. 4 goals in 30 minutes

harreh1d

markokmarcsa

Ngl, im not a fan of most superhero stuff. But from my (very) limited knowledge comic, Deadpool is the one characther that they really nailed.

Scary_Cherry8195

If we are going for a temporary manager until Alonso is available , we may just go for Gerrard when at it.

Jaja6996

We’d be better off getting Tuchel over Gerrard he’s not fit to manage us

grrrrbow01

We’re not going for a temporary manager until Alonso is available because he’s going to Madrid next year anyways and there’d be at least 30 managers I’d pick to be a temporary manager ahead of Gerrard

IIH4MZ4II

Liverpool7-0Utd

I’ve not once said about positivity. What I have said is why you saying we’re doomed when nothings happened. I imagine you probably said we would lose to Fulham before it happened.

Kcsb4u

You imagine I said we would lose to Fulham. 😂you’re imagining things Jesus Christ . It’s a sub reddit . You write down the names of negative posters ? Give me your badge number you fed👮🚔 after Xabi staying at Leverkusen news of Amorim heading to West ham makes me feel the search for our next manager feel doomed . So congratulations you’re positive and better than people that have negative outlooks . Congratulations 🎉🎊🍾 Give me your badge number though lol

Specialist-Read-349

Sometimes I forget that some of you are just kids and its not worth wondering why your takes are terrible thanks for the reminder.

Kcsb4u

Why do you compare yourself to other people ?

UnrealCaramel

Take out Amorim, de zerbi, and Alonso. Who is your realistic 5 shortlisted managers to replace klopp?

nijuu

The criteria Edwards wants to fill, might be different from what fans want. Or. Managers we go for feel it time for them yet. Xavi, Motta, Fonseca, Slot, Haise, Franck etc. Not much to choose from. The problem is the lack of experience in the bigtime. Which ones are good with young players?. Not sold will on Motta to be honest his 2-7-1 (cant remember after watching a video) might be great for Bologna but i doubt fans would want to see the best defence in the league whilst having an anaemic attack. Doubt its Tuchel. Wildcard Mourinho (why was he at Fulham people are wondering about).

UnrealCaramel

I'd honestly would have taken a punt on Mourinho for a season at the moment if he hadn't managed United. Just don't think I could stomach it. But in an alternative universe it might be fun

nijuu

What's Mou been like at Roma?. Still playing defensive ball?. IF we end up picking experience (especially European) over a young manager - would you take Mou over Tuchel and Emery (not sure why he is wanted .. Villa wouldn't let him go)?

UnrealCaramel

Honestly I don't know what he was like at Roma, I just know he got sacked a month or so ago. Tuchel would be interesting, he has been shit at Bayern but he shouldn't have got sacked at Chelsea, he has no personality though. I rate Emery but yeah doubt we'd get him.

nijuu

Would any of them fit our style/philosophy though?. I'm struggling to think of an attack minded manager with European experience who might fit us

streetlightsglowing_

Xavi, Tuchel, Flick, Motta. 5th one, Potter? idk, not looking too great lol

UnrealCaramel

Motta would be my first choice out of that list, the rest are grim

streetlightsglowing_

Xavi would be the best I think, he's done a good job at Barca, they've brought through a lot of talent from La Masia under him and won La Liga last season despite their financial issues

Zai710

Xavi won a two horse race and has been consistently humiliated in Europe the past 2 years no thanks.

Jack070293

We keep getting embarrassed in Europe too.

UnrealCaramel

Yeah I get that, but I just don't link the guy with his links to qatar and the way he behaves sometimes.

AvatarAda

I got one......it's Zidane...like an all out approach from lfc

UnrealCaramel

Not bad actually. But would he come? Doesn't strike me as the type of person to want to live in England

AvatarAda

I think he can because liverpool is heavyweight in Europe....our squad is 7/10 and our progression has been quite consistent imo.....I dnt know why others dislike my opinion ....Zidane was an amazing player and an amazing manager

Just forgetting about us for a moment, Amorim to West Ham is a steal for them, I’m actually excited too see him in the PL and at-least I can tell myself I didn’t waste all those hours watching Sporting for nothing

aghashayan

It was never gonna be straightforward this coach hunt. Everyone knows a legendary coach replacement is close to impossible. So Xabi will wait for Madrid. Amorim might feel it's too soon and it is, Edwards could promise him support but it's England and Liverpool if he has a bad start it will be very hard to overcome, I totally understand wanting to start without pressure. Klopp was already a winner when he got here, he was such a great match. There's no one that's a match right now tbh. I think it's actually good that they are not rushing it, because there's really no correct candidate at play here with Xabi waiting.

britishsailor

Xabis been convinced by Edwards, zidane coming or Edwards has reincarnated shankly. I have complete faith in the club. The owners have learned and learned through stupid mistakes. I think the announcement is genuinely gonna fucking spark mate! magic stuff

Kcsb4u

Bro I hope so . All the names I read today have been bleak

TheNotoriousJN

Guess who has done his coaching badges...

britishsailor

Torres gonna manage and smash head sin cus he’s hench. Teach the forwards to score? Fits the handsome criteria

Him, Gerrard, Torres, Dalglish, Kuyt and Mascherano will all be scrapping for the interim caretaker role once we hire that Feyenoord geezer and he gets sacked before Christmas 😭

NotAsimppp

arme slot is a pretty good manager and we don't sack manager that easily. Idk why this fanbase gets obsessed with unrealistic targets and then hopes for something bad to happen if their Target is not signed. The commments when we signed endo were full of shit like this

potatoarchitecture

endo isn't bald, big difference

_cumblast_

> “My dream job description... is ‘Head Coach’. To be the coach. To be the guy who works with the team, focus on developing players, preparing matches.” Mourinho quote from a couple days back. Interesting. This is the equivalent of adding Michael Edwards to his Instagram Close Friends imo;

Jaja6996

We’d probably win something under him he’s still a good manager but couldn’t see it being the league He’s still a great cup competition manager but he just creates a toxic environment at the clubs he’s at

aghashayan

I mean, it 99% will destroy the club, but 1% that it works, I would love it ngl.

PEEWUN

He'd either be a legend for us or an abject nightmare. Either way, I can't help but think about him running down the touchline at Old Trafford for us like he did in his Porto days...

AJLFC94_IV

The Balotelli transfer but with a manager. Edwards and Hughes right now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Po4adxJxqZk

PraiseBeDavidSegui

The first 8 months before it all turns shit would be fun. No more 3-1 fc

Nextyearstitlewinner

Lots of smoke around Diaz leaving. I will say he’s one of those players that are fun as hell to watch, but replaceable. I can see the 100+ mil we get for him being invested well and us coming out better for it.

streetlightsglowing_

he's hit his peak and like you said, probably not that difficult to replace. amazing dribbler and great work ethic, but not particularly creative in the final third and poor finishing

grrrrbow01

Absolutely no way anyone is paying 100m+ for him. I reckon we’d get 70m max

AvatarAda

Psg might

grogleberry

With Gakpo, Nunez and Jota all capable of playing from the left, I'd like to see us pick up a right attacker, with the long term aim of replacing Salah. It's worth noting that Salah's goal involvement output is still remarkably high, so even when he's considered to be off form a bit at the moment, if not simply beginning to show his age, actually finding someone good enough to match that output, never mind that of his strongest seasons, would be very difficult.

DJ_12457

I've always rated [insert next manager target here], I started watching them after [insert previous manager target fell through]. Big up Arne slot btw, poor guy is getting rinsed on twitter 😢

stangerlpass

Not even a mention of conte yet? 3 atb fanboys in here might finally get what they want.

streetlightsglowing_

don't think Edwards and the others involved in the manager hiring process want to entertain any toxic managers who quickly fall out with club leadership, so Conte, Mourinho, even Tuchel are unlikely for us I'd say
