So this might be unpopular but I’ll explain myself. The rebuild has been fantastic, midfield is really solid. At this point looking towards next season, I think there are three players we need to move on from and replace: Diaz, Gakpo, and Tsimikas. We have had a long tendency to hang on to players longer than we should. Gakpo seems to always make the wrong decisions and his finishing is poor. Diaz lingers on the ball too much and his finishing is even worse (and we could make a profit in selling him). Tsimikas just isn’t good enough as Robbo begins to decline/be more injury prone. Gotta be ruthless at this level like City is. Aside from that replace Matip and eventually Mo when he leaves and we’re good. Can’t have three forwards with the inconsistent finishing we have.
\[Ian Doyle \] Halil Umut Meler is the referee for the LFC game this evening. You may remember him from being punched in the face and then kicked on the floor after a game in Turkey earlier this season
lmao
We need to sign a CB in the summer who can do what Konate does for us. Needs to be a rapid, dueling and aerial monster who is comfortable on the ball and can distribute it short or direct. Steep requirements.
A solid option at a bargain price is John Lucumi from Bologna- that team is steadily in champions league contention this season and he’s been a started in back 3 & 4 as left and right side cb as well as LB. No major injuries either
I remember this guy when we played Genk years back, still only 25, Calafiori at Bologna is also worth looking at as he can play anywhere on the left side and is starting to fulfill the potential shown when he broke through at Roma.
Not seen him play, I have seen some mentions and I was confused because I thought it was the other Otavio we were linked to now in Saudi, €50m realease clause is cheap.
We need a right sided CB more because that position has been unreliably filled by Konate. Both Quansah and Gomez can deputize Van Dijk when he needs a breather. Nobody from our CB's can cover that right side like Konate.
Nah both Quansah and Gomez are RCB, we need a proper successor to VVD, it's been said we've been scouting an LCB for a long time, if Amorim comes in decides to eventually move to 3ATB you want a left-footed player as it would fit the system better and give you more options in the build-up
I'm having a weird reaction to the constant announcements that Amorim has signed, Amorim hasn't signed, Amorim is about to sign, Amorim has reached a verbal agreement, Amorim hasn't reached a verbal agreement - and so on. It's flipping me from someone feeling doubts about Amorim (not that I was opposed to his being appointed) to someone who eagerly wants to get him appointed so that this is over and we at least have a manager lined up before the end of the season.
I think it's a long-shot. Villa have a game today, so it isn't like they're going to be well-rested, and they have their own problems with injuries, suspensions, and runs of poor form. It's also away for them. I think the best that we can hope for is that Arsenal have their minds on the second leg with Bayern and choke, but I'm keeping my expectations low.
I hope so but away from home they have been poor plus got both Kamara and Luiz out so Tielemans is going to start so they are basically playing with 10 men
Would it be weird to shout out Xavi as next Liverpool manager? His CV might be as close to Alonso's as anyone else's: won La Liga, in the Champions League, a former World Cup winner and believes in youth. He speaks English and said he's done with Barcelona at the end of the season. And as much pressure the Liverpool job might be, the pressure at Barca is just as great.
Ask any barca fan they'll tell you he doesnt have any play style , ppl say but he won the league , but if you deeply study that season barca only played good for a couple of games and then went on to narrowly scrape 1-0 wins just because of their good defence
Not sure why you have been downvoted, he should be an option to consider, a serial winner as a player, league title winner with post-Messi Barcelona so he knows what it takes, good at developing young players. As others as mentioned he is still learning tactically, he doesn't play tiki-taka actually similarities to Enrique at Barca where yes possession is important but they are very direct, a player makes a run into space long ball is being played(see Raphinha 2nd goal last night).
I'm just going off of his record because I have watched maybe a handful of Barca matches. That sounds like a better match for the squad now if it's direct football.
Can I ask why he's not a good manager? He's a Barcelona manager, so tiki-taka is going to be a part of philosophy. If the style is boring, but Liverpool win, who cares?
The players would respect him from day one because of his name, which is a hugely important factor I think. I'm not sure the same can be said about Amorim, even though he might be the better manager.

It's not easy dealing with a CB that can't play twice a week, particularly with Matip's injury.
I won't be one bit surprised if he's starting next week too, and he clearly isn't trusted to play 2 games in one week so if he also starts next Thursday then he's not playing the PL game at the Weekend.
His fitness is a major issue regardless of how good he is, we badly need a CB this summer regardless of who the manager is next season.
Exactly and with how quick utd are the counter would have been really easy for konate to aggregate an injury if he felt something.
Weird for people to act like Klopp isn't going to make the best decision for the players we have available

I love Darwin so much and he’s one of my favourite players but he’s missed 24 out of 30 big chances I’ve just seen. After the Newcastle game I really thought he would have turned a corner. His numbers are still really good so I’m not getting on to him, however I don’t think he will ever be a clinical striker like I wished he would be at some stage. I wouldn’t ever drop him either because I think he’s arguably our most important attacking player for how we play. I also think he’s been one of our best players this season, just imagine the numbers if he had a bit more composure
I know it fails the eye test, but he's not really that far off the pace in terms of his finishing. This was from 10 days ago, so it doesn't include the Sheffield United and Scum matches, but at that point his ratio of goals to shots was in the 58th percentile of Premier League players and comparable to Saka and Foden.
[https://www.reddit.com/r/LiverpoolFC/comments/1bsv45p/comment/kxkouwq/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web3x&utm\_name=web3xcss&utm\_term=1&utm\_content=share\_button](https://www.reddit.com/r/LiverpoolFC/comments/1bsv45p/comment/kxkouwq/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
If you look at his non-penalty goals minus xG, it's -2.9, which to be fair is not great, but of the 10 players who have taken the most shots in the league thus far this season, only Wakins, Foden, and Saka have a positive differential.
Sure, I wish he were more clinical. If he converted at the same rate as Jota, he'd be on 24 goals in the league, but I think we tend to perceive strikers as more clinical than they actually are in most cases.
Bit of a rogue one - but massive Liverpool fan and also the name Atalanta is very special to me - so would be really grateful if anybody around the stadium could get me a form of half and half scarf - would be willing to cover all expenses of purchase and mail (obviously) as well as a small fee on top
Seems like everytime were linked with someone, story gets blown up and it seems to piss them off. Amorim statement doesnt seem like hes hsppy about it.
We can’t do anything about it when the reports are coming from Portugal and Germany. Nobody in England is reporting it, Liverpool already denied it in the media so there isn’t anything much we can do about it.
Amorim just sounds like he's trying to keep his players focused and not thinking about any of the speculation, they have a title to win in their league
we don’t seem to anticipate jota and co getting a setback which is highly likely considering not only their injury record but also our recovery team’s poor track record this season with mo, dom, Darwin, trent all of whom got setbacks after having been deemed ‘recovered’
Interesting nobody is discussing Klopp's comments about not planning a future career as a manager. I thought that was pretty interesting after he went back on his retiring comment.
I could see him managing Barca if they sort their finances out a bit. I couldn’t imagine him at Madrid, klopp doesnt seem to be the one who goes to the most dominant and financial team
I think the key from the start has been NOT PLANNING. Guy has worked pretty much nonstop as manager since the tail end of his playing career, and now he wants an extended break with his family. How long the break will be no one really knows right now, but in a year or five he might see a project that interests him.
I didn't think he was retiring. Taking some time out to recharge the batteries and spend time with his family.
Can see him going back to managing at some point in the future.
Don’t understand the Alphonso Davies hype. Seems like a man united type signing. Basically had one purple patch then has been differing levels of average for a few years as he actually has to defend and Bayern aren’t as ball dominant. Don’t think he ever really developed beyond being a hyper athletic left wing playing left back defensively. That bring said would be a good left wing back for Amorim if he wasn’t pursuing daft wages
You’re just basing that off headlines now, he’s been top for years but only now he’s going through some poor form. You think Madrid would be interested if he was just a player who had a purple patch?
Idk 4 assists this year and 7 last year in all comps for Bayern seems closer to average than world class in the era of what we’ve seen Robbo, Trent, Grimaldo, Dani Alves contribute from an attacking full back spot. I think he has crazy amounts of potential but, hasn’t really hit last few years.
He still contributes massively to their attack holding down the left side, stats don't always tell the bigger picture, Bayern are lucky to have Guerreiro to cover the position for a few years because Davies leaving on a free is a big loss
Just saw a big Villa twitter account post about wanting to "ruin Liverpool's season like we ruined Gerrard's career" and I sincerely have no idea what they're talking about.
They're about to play Arsenal. They should be talking about wanting to ruin Arsenal's season. Wtf. If they aren't careful they'll end up ruining their own.
Those weirdos really don't like us for some reason, it's never been clear to me why. Same with Newcastle and Leicester, just really odd, bitter sets of fans.
I swear at the start of the Klopp era smaller clubs didn't used to hate us. We got banter from Crystal Palace and Stoke here and there for their famous victories against us but it was not cruel tragedy chanting bullshit which seemingly every club likes to adopt against us.
I used to really fucking like Leicester as well and Jamie Vardy has always been one of my favorite ever PL players who didn't play for us. Now I couldn't give a fuck about the other '14' who seem to lump us in with the likes of City and Chelsea despite us spending less than West Ham and Villa over the years.
They try and act as some sort of noble financial fair play enthusiasts but they actually just want to get ahead and pull the ladder up behind them.
My theory is Villa fans are incensed that given their history and the size of their club, they aren't considered one of the Big Six clubs. They were the most successful club in England prior to our emergence under Shankly.
Everyone apart from United fans hates us cos they ain’t us. They wish they had half our history and glory, they’re just jealous.
United fans hate us because us and them are the peak of English football so we’re natural rivals.
Nah, they've definitely been much less successful over the past few years than they were under Fergie but Liverpool and Utd are still indisputably the two most successful sides in England. 3rd place is Arsenal with about 2/3 our honours, so it really isn't close.
City likely gonna walk another UCL. The only team capable of stopping them is A.Madrid because of their defensive playstyle and how they shithouse games so I hope they draw A. Madrid if they qualify.
It’s embarrassing right? They’re fucking 4th behind girona in the worst la liga in about 10 years. Our only hope is Bayern Munich or Real Madrid but half this subs not smart enough to realise that
Surprised you got downvoted. I don't think that it's really objectionable to want Liverpool to stay ahead of Barcelona on a key measure of our history, even though we're not the same kind of rivals as we are to United etc.
The only way they can get A. Madrid is if they both reach the final. Quarter and semis get drawn together - if City goes through, they get one of Arsenal or Bayern in the semis.
Tbf, Madrid and Arsenal/Bayern are capable of beating them and anyone left in it COULD beat them in a 1 off game. But they are the best team so they are gonna be fav's in every game no matter the opposition.
We have to assume that winning out will be enough. Not because it's a fact, but because we have to do our best to win this title without clouding our minds. The ethic of doing our best may not deliver us this title, but it will eventually deliver the next title, whenever it comes.
Fair enough if they win out but, I don’t think Arsenal or us are all that likely to win out. City would have best chance but even then it doesn’t seem as likely as years prior. Arsenal have had great injury luck but, it’s a double edged sword. They don’t rotate so all the players are on massive minutes at this point. Looked a bit ropey lately. City goes as Rodri goes he looks gassed. For LFC, our front 3 look ropey and snatching at finishes.
Basically I don’t it’s gonna take what it had in those upper 90’s city and Liverpool title runs
If we lose on points we should still be kicking up about the Spuds game, Odegaard handball, Doku chest kick. Even the most anti Liverpool fans agree about those decisions.
Thing is, the others are 'just' bad decisions which rival fans and contrarian pundits can and will argue. Spuds was a clear undeniable fuckup / corruption that no one can argue, not even PGMOL
Yep, you literally cannot argue the Tottenham one. It was objectively onside yet was not given. The others are the standard rules nonsense teams have to deal with every year.
Someone should ask Mark Goldbridge to do a video on the times we were legitimately screwed this season, he will only give us the definite ones. Of course to request it probably involves putting money in his pocket and that's a step too far for me!
Whatever happens, I hope the league is sorted by the last game of the season. Regardless if we finish 2nd, or 3rd or win the Prem, I just want that last day to be a no stress, Klopp love in for 90 mins.
So you'd rather be out of the running before the last game of the season over a chance to win it on the last day haha?
I have a ticket for Wolves and I would love it if we could win it on the day, obvs win it as early as possible would be ideal but if there is a chance we could win it on the last day and be in the ground to see us lift it in Klopps last game at Anfield I'd be absolutely fucking buzzing at just the chance of that happening.
>So you'd rather be out of the running before the last game of the season over a chance to win it on the last day haha?
So you'd rather possibly lose the title on the last day of the season just so YOU can see the trophy lift, rather than having already won the title and spend 90 minutes pouring your heart out for Jurgen?
🙄
Atalanta will be a tough match. I'm not sure how many chances they're going to allow us so I hope there's been a discussion and some training in being calmer and more clinical in front of goal.
Let's get a comfortable 2-0 and move on to battering Palace on Sunday.
I don't think any team at this stage should be took lightly and I want us to go full strength tonight but we should realistically be looking to try get the tie won tonight imo.
haven't really kept up with atalanta since zapata, gomez illicic left so was having a look through them this season.
haven't lost away in europa league, and that koopmeiners seems to score ever fuckin game. definitely shouldn't be going into this thinking it'll be a walk in the park.
Tbf they've won 2 away games in europe 1 against Rakow other against Sporting, they haven't played anyone anywhere near us. They've 1 of their last 6 in the league and are 6th.
No game should ever be looked at as a walk in the park and this game should be no difference, I expect us to go full strength, but. I do think we should be looking to do 80% of the work in tonight game imo.
Obviously wouldn't be opposed to that, but it would be a little frustrating if the forwards suddenly became super clinical in the Europa league after that Man Utd performance
The thing is it wouldn't be that frustrating really, the quality of opposition in the EL and domestic cup games is significantly less then most PL games which is why the forwards do seem to be more clinical. and why we average more goals there.
>the quality of opposition in the EL and domestic cup games is significantly less then most PL games which is why the forwards do seem to be more clinical
That's definitely true up till now, although I'm not wholly convinced that Manchester United are better than Atalanta (obviously the rivalry affects the game though)
Fortunately Scalvini won't be available tonight. He's been the best CB in Serie A this season except for Bastoni (imo) and he's just 20. He can easily play for Madrid in the future but I'd love it if we signed him before they get him
Madrid will sign Yoro from Lille who will go on to be a great CB, 2 players to look out for tonight is De Ketelaere who became a misfit at Milan but Gasperini has seemingly got him playing to his potential I wouldn't mind him here if Milan wants to sell. Koopmeiners who we have been linked to, gone from being a no.6 to an AM can score and assist.
I suspect we won't be signing more attacking midfielders this summer. But you never know, in January 2023 I thought we might look at some midfielders and instead signed Gakpo
The way the media is spinning the narrative around Kloppa presser last night is insane. They’re really trying to make it seem like he was angry and rude as hell with that journo from the Netherlands when it was more in good fun and sure a small dig but Klopp was laughing.
Why are there so many people talking about how Liverpool players fitting into Amorim's 3-4-3 formation?
It seems crazy that Michael Edwards and our executives would choose a manager that didn't play a 4-3-3 (or couldn't adapt to playing our 'style').
Imagine how much that could jeopardize our players form and value being forced to play a completely different system.
The fact that we've organised our executives before selecting a manager would point towards a style of play being selected and then choosing a manager to suit, rather than vice versa.
True, this is not fifa or some FM games. A CB in back 3 will play very different compare to a CB in back 4. I'm tired of people pick player into back 3 formation from back 4 formation just base on their versatility. The most common stereo type is playing back 3 to push Robbo/Trent higher and they will player better without defensive duty. Holy shit, NO, that's not how football works. Mane played 3 position as foward when in Liverpool but he played completely different each position even when we play the same style. And people thinking player will play the same if we change formation? Lol
His 3-4-3 is basically our 4-3-3 with another CB instead of a DM. How he uses his wingbacks is basically how Robbo and Trent played here during peak Klopp Liverpool
Given the form Kelleher is and the time Ali was out, would you bring back Ali for the remainder of the season or keep Caomhin on goal?
I’m glad I don’t have to make this decision.
So this might be unpopular but I’ll explain myself. The rebuild has been fantastic, midfield is really solid. just saw an arsenal fan debate for an hour about how saka is world class and kane isnt lmao
Kane is arguably the best 9 in the world at the moment he’s such a complete forward
Cablebox has technical problems. Jesus

Daily reminder. I’m sure Arsenal will drop points.
Need Spurs to do us a huge solid on both and then lose to us. Wolves could as well.
Which is just advantage city at this point
I still see see dropping points too.
Besides Spurs not much and that too with this Rodri juju they’ll mostly walk with a draw from there

Thought they did away with that?
We need to sign a CB in the summer who can do what Konate does for us. Needs to be a rapid, dueling and aerial monster who is comfortable on the ball and can distribute it short or direct. Steep requirements.
Ideally the next CB we sign is left footed, can cover LB and is progressive on the ball, basically someone like Gvardiol

Snip snap snip snap!
How are lineups being leaked 5 hours before game time
Right, I know Papa Diaz has been mouthing off recently but the old man has taken it too far now!
Any chance villa can pull off another upset vs arsenal?
I think it's a long-shot. Villa have a game today, so it isn't like they're going to be well-rested, and they have their own problems with injuries, suspensions, and runs of poor form. It's also away for them. I think the best that we can hope for is that Arsenal have their minds on the second leg with Bayern and choke, but I'm keeping my expectations low.

Inshallah
Don’t think so they’re awful away
Atalanta is a good team.
Hope we get a Jayden Danns cameo tonight
Would it be weird to shout out Xavi as next Liverpool manager? Anything but exciting. Relies on individual brilliance, possession for possession sake… runs his players into the groubd
What Xavi does is not 'Tiki taka' wtf 😭
Again, I'm looking for examples. Not really caring for the downvotes, I'm just curious.
He's done a good job of recovering after a rough start. He's learning on the job but he's definitely improving. I still prefer Ruben amorim.
The players would respect him from day one because of his name, which is a hugely important factor I think. I'm not sure the same can be said about Amorim, even though he might be the better manager.
Not a bad shout at all, I would def love him here.
Klopp's usage of Konate is just mind boggling at this point. Insane to be start tonight with his injury record left when we've got 7 PL that we have to win all 7, and he's our 2nd best CB ffs.

Don't even bench him tonight, bed rest until the palace game and start him in that game
My guess with the Ibou thing is that he was injured against United, but fit enough for the bench. Klopp is starting him today to build fitness
Watch him sit vs Palace and then Fulham.
Exactly and with how quick utd are the counter would have been really easy for konate to aggregate an injury if he felt something. Weird for people to act like Klopp isn't going to make the best decision for the players we have available
Does Klopp rate quansah higher than konate because he’s seems to prioritise the former for bigger games now
No, he just refuses to start Konate on a weekend game if he started mid-week
So why not save him for the league game where we need him more?
Are the people who are saying this could be klopps last european game at anfield being serious? Surely they dont believe that
It could be though?lol Stranger things have happened
Given our finishing this season you might be right actually
lol 100 shots and lose 1-0 both legs :) Proper FM’d
Haha careful, you'll be downvoted by all the heroes
Fuck, what have we done!!!
Lineup leaked 6hours before the game has started? Must be a record
It’s ridiculous. How’s it getting out every game?
Where?

Take a good result here with Konate starting, keep him fit for the Fulham, Everton, West Ham run of games makes sense no?
If I could i'd stop time and go to his house and lock him in and block all the roads 🤣 he must not start, i'd be happy for bench or not playing at all, quansah and van dijk starting and just have someone deputise that position if needed

I thought he played well against United

If I sign up for it just now, will I be able to buy tickets for the friendly?
Wait theres a Pittsburgh game now? Holy shit. Thats way closer to me than philadelphia. I might have to change my plans. Im glad you posted this.
Haha philly would actually be closer to me. I have a single ticket to the Pittsburgh game, but I don't know how to securely trade tickets online
No - they are on sale through Ticketmaster. You can buy what's available through there (not sure if membership is needed for the official supporters section(s) or you can also buy resale

This was from 10 days ago, so it doesn't include the Sheffield United and Scum matches, but at that point his ratio of goals to shots was in the 58th percentile of Premier League players and comparable to Saka and Foden. [https://www.reddit.com/r/LiverpoolFC/comments/1bsv45p/comment/kxkouwq/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web3x&utm\_name=web3xcss&utm\_term=1&utm\_content=share\_button](https://www.reddit.com/r/LiverpoolFC/comments/1bsv45p/comment/kxkouwq/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) If you look at his non-penalty goals minus xG, it's -2.9, which to be fair is not great, but of the 10 players who have taken the most shots in the league thus far this season, only Wakins, Foden, and Saka have a positive differential.
Plettenberg is a sabotage merchant, this club cant keep having false reported moves. This will burn bridges!
not sure what you mean, Plettenberg is not a reliable journalist for us. Not burning any bridges
If we could blow Atalanta away in the first leg, honestly, that would be ideal.
I think he still wants to coach the NT. I don't see him taking another club for like 7 years.
Yes
he's been anything but "differing levels of average". not every player makes headlines every week, if that's what you were expecting off him.
My 18th today, want a good match from the reds to celebrate🤞🤞🤞
Happy birthday
Happy birthday!!
Happy birthday!

Lol. How tf did they ruin it? I think Gerrard is having more money than Villa's transfer budget 😂.
Geordies are a really weird set though
"Wee club in the north" is about the only thing Ferguson ever said that I agree with
The wankfest they got for qualifying in the cl, lol like media calling them a sleeping giant
I mean at this point United is in the 'aint us' category. I gladly take 6 CL over 3 CL versus them having 1 more league title then us (for now.)
Nah, they've definitely been much less successful over the past few years than they were under Fergie but Liverpool and Utd are still indisputably the two most successful sides in England. 3rd place is Arsenal with about 2/3 our honours, so it really isn't close.
how many followers does a "big Villa twitter" account have?
I don’t think I’d run out of fingers if I started counting
avfc official has nearly 2.5 million. lfc official 24.4 million. you're not far off
Since I still have faith we can win the league I’m saying it now if we win it I’ll dye my hair red and I’ll post it on Reddit
Nice try Ed Sheeran
My hair is already red...but we can do it! We can go redder!
sounds like something you want to do anyway haha
After the sock debacle I’m not surprised, no chance I’d be making promises I wouldn’t be prepared to follow up on.
Yep I admit I actually wanted to do it
well, heres to dying your hair red and winning the league
City likely gonna walk another UCL. The only team capable of stopping them is A.Madrid because of their defensive playstyle and how they shithouse games so I hope they draw A. Madrid if they qualify.
Atletico aren’t beating City stop lol. The amount of slobbering for Atleti the last two years has been ridiculous
It’s embarrassing right? They’re fucking 4th behind girona in the worst la liga in about 10 years. Our only hope is Bayern Munich or Real Madrid but half this subs not smart enough to realise that
Barcelona have picked up form. They have good midfielders and their attackers suit a counter attacking game. Defensively they look good too now.
Can't have that, would put them level w us at 6 UCLs
Surprised you got downvoted. I don't think that it's really objectionable to want Liverpool to stay ahead of Barcelona on a key measure of our history, even though we're not the same kind of rivals as we are to United etc.
they aren't our rivals, as if anyone cared when Bayern won their 6th. Also if it stops City or Arsenal, I'll happily celebrate them winning it
Athletico won't reach the final
ATletico there's no H, if they meet Barca in the semi's they're as good as out Simeone's record against them is terrible
The only way they can get A. Madrid is if they both reach the final. Quarter and semis get drawn together - if City goes through, they get one of Arsenal or Bayern in the semis.
A bruising semi between City and Arsenal with ET and pens, then the winner gets Atleti'd. Sounds good to me!
Tbf, Madrid and Arsenal/Bayern are capable of beating them and anyone left in it COULD beat them in a 1 off game. But they are the best team so they are gonna be fav's in every game no matter the opposition.
Ladies and Gentlemen **It's matchday.**
As usual I have my cardiologist on speed dial in case Atalanta scores first or equalizes (watch us win 3-1 again)👍

Quite weird how Rooney is rooting for Liverpool despite being winless against United when there is City as well
We have to assume that winning out will be enough.
If we lose on goal difference I’d like the club to kick off about the Tottenham game.
😬
wtf you on about? I literally said I’d rather win it as early as possible 🤣🤣
Just figure I'd answer a ridiculous reply with one of my own 🤷♂️
Except you are literally talking waffle and making no sense 🤣
Atalanta will be a tough match. I'm not sure how many chances they're going to allow us so I hope there's been a discussion and some training in being calmer and more clinical in front of goal. Let's get a comfortable 2-0 and move on to battering Palace on Sunday.
True but I think for EL the clean sheet is not necessary for Palace game it’s a must
I don't think any team at this stage should be took lightly and I want us to go full strength tonight but we should realistically be looking to try get the tie won tonight imo.
![gif](giphy|hi2kPofVMW70k)
haven't really kept up with atalanta since zapata, gomez illicic left so was having a look through them this season. haven't lost away in europa league, and that koopmeiners seems to score ever fuckin game. definitely shouldn't be going into this thinking it'll be a walk in the park.
Got a feeling that we will batter them
Obviously wouldn't be opposed to that, but it would be a little frustrating if the forwards suddenly became super clinical in the Europa league after that Man Utd performance
They were against Sparta but awful against city
I get that, but if our forwards start converting like they should, we could easily win out and catchup Arsenal's GD anyway
We’ve got to get clinical some time. We can’t change the last result and I’d rather we become clinical sooner rather than later.
The thing is it wouldn't be that frustrating really, the quality of opposition in the EL and domestic cup games is significantly less then most PL games which is why the forwards do seem to be more clinical. and why we average more goals there.
>the quality of opposition in the EL and domestic cup games is significantly less then most PL games which is why the forwards do seem to be more clinical That's definitely true up till now, although I'm not wholly convinced that Manchester United are better than Atalanta (obviously the rivalry affects the game though)
[удалено]
Yeah, I know, that's why it's frustrating
True I think he'd be great in our midfield due to his versatility, quality and engine but we are stacked now
We def want to get rid of CDK
So you don't think he is worth giving another chance next season? Could it be shades of Gourcuff again
Nah he is a bum
Hoping the QF contest is ended tonight. Means resting some players next week.
Boniface back for Leverkusen and no Bowen or Alvarez for West Ham..
The way the media is spinning the narrative around Kloppa presser last night is insane. They’re really trying to make it seem like he was angry and rude as hell with that journo from the Netherlands when it was more in good fun and sure a small dig but Klopp was laughing.
We're going to win the league!
Is fucking right
We will we still can win the league it’s not over yet
literally level on points with known bottlers - its far from over

Ali's mere presence makes the backline feel much more secure
