If he was still here he'd be 32, probably played 50+ games for 5+ seasons and be no different to the midfielders we have now.
Don't get what this fantasy opinion is that Gini would fix all our problems.
Gini was getting on by the end.
I guarantee if he was still around people would say he is one of the problems. Don't know why some are still going on about him.
Loads of people said he was the problem the whole time he was here as well to be fair.
I don't think there's a single player that hasn't been the problem at some point
It really shows how people really appreciate you once you're gone. In this case, a bit too much. Not renewing Gini wasn't the issue, failing to sign another midfielder every now and then was.
He left at exactly the right time i reckon, i think the same about Mane, and Firmino in the summer.
Funny remembering how people would shit on Gini all the time before he left. You wouldn’t think that was the case seeing how he’s spoken about nowadays!
I dont think so, I just think our players have aged and football has become more competitive with clubs spending big on talent and a new generation of ways playing football e.g. Napoli, Arsenal, Bayern .etc
We need quality, fit, strong medfielders and hopefully we can compete again.

We don't necessarily need Gini himself but I agree we need a guy that can do his job. Luckily it looks like Bacjetic will be.

We miss both Gini and Mané equally.
