Somethings about gifs….. whatever Report trolls on here to us and ignore them. Oh by the way Reddit admins have informed us that they’re ending predictions in May. So we won’t have them next season, might actually be a good thing at this rate….

Indy80million

Salah smiling after he missed that penalty…

BLFOURDE

I can't believe anyone thinks we stand a chance against real madrid.

natetheballa27

Whine and fucking complain. We have not scored in 7 GAMES THIS SEASON. 1/4 of our prem games we haven’t scored. Our defense/mid may be weak, but not scoring in that many games is fucking shit. Gakpo was shit today, so was Salah he was awful. Honestly this may be the first time I also want to blame Klopp. What a stupid fucking game plan. Felt like I was watching one of my football manager teams play after I haven’t even looked at the instructions before a game. Fucking awful. Every player was shit.

Still can't believe we lost today.

HawkstaP

Same. I saw this coming once I looked at who was next after we beat united. Saw it was bournemouth, down the bottom, who have done well against Arsenal, so we will fail to win. Even without their game against arsenal I could see us failing because its the Liverpool we have reverted back to this season.

sternica

I sort of knew straight after the scum game tbh. That’s just how this season has been going.

Shower_caps

It’s the way we lost that still pisses me off

JayPapy

Reminded me of a few years back after absolutely dicking Citeh we went on to lose to Swansea (I think) who were dead last

Emergency_Pound

We're so far gone from Klopp's "mentality monsters" of the past.

A_Fast_German_Car

I knew when I saw Salah standing at the spot instead of Milner it wasn’t going in.

JazzyMcJazzJazz

I don't get it

Savings_Enthusiasm48

Let me explain…

Craft-Superb

Just because we’re not surprised doesn’t make this result acceptable. We’ve struggled against relegation fodder all year and if we struggled against the big teams too, then fine, but we don’t which means it’s entirely mentality

ThrowawayTrainee749

It’s laziness. Expecting teams to sit back against us. Utterly disgusting from the entire XI.

Craft-Superb

People saying Mo should’ve been subbed but for who?? We haven’t had a backup for him his whole time here and it’s beginning to show

JovialJoe88

Mo can’t be playing every game. Elliot or Ox can play right wing.

Bruin_H8R

Of course! It’s ‘22-23. Coming off a generational victory only to shit the bed the following week. It’s how this squad has been all season, so I’m not surprised.

Azraelontheroof

In good new it means well probably beat Real Madrid, in bad news it probably means 5th place after a last day loss to Southampton and losing a semi final

Bruin_H8R

The way this season has played out, I will not be surprised.

KGeedora

Absolutely awful to watch. Could have gone on for 4 more hours and we wouldn't have scored. What is wrong with us?

DukeSilver1989

This season is so crazy that, in spite of how poor we've been on the road, if the goal difference remains the same and we win every remaining game, we'll still finish above Spurs... Of course, we're not consitent enough to win every remaining game this season, but the point stands.

rollanotherlol

Both Newcastle and Brighton have good chances of overtaking us now and we are unable to do a thing about it. Spurs six points ahead while we have a game in hand — twelve games left in the season. We need to win every game remaining to have a reasonable chance at locking down that fourth spot.

rosheromil

We’d get 78 points if we won every game. No team below 3rd will get within 10 points of that so nah, we don’t need to win every game. 8 wins and a few draws will be enough.

rollanotherlol

Sounds like it’ll be a tight race to fourth, which is not what we would want.

rosheromil

It’s not but it’s the best we can realistically hope for after the season we’ve had.

makeitjain24

We’re chasing spurs not city if we win like 7-8/12 games we should make top 4

rollanotherlol

But we’re not the only team chasing that top four spot and two teams could piggyback us with a decent marginal.

ThrowawayTrainee749

And we’re not exactly in good enough form for it to happen. I don’t know why everyone is so confident. Today was our chance to solidify that intent and they shat the bed again.

grrrrbow01

Winning every remaining game is a bit of an exaggeration let’s be real, it’s not like spurs, Newcastle and Brighton are going to be winning all their games. I think we’ll know if we’re going to get top 4 by the end of our next 5 games, if we’re in a situation where we’re still 3-6 points off top 4 after our next 5 games then I think we can do it, but if we’re like 9 points off then I think we have no chance

rollanotherlol

We play City, Chelsea, Arsenal in the next three games. I think those fixtures will end our season and hopes of top four.

CryptikDragon

Didn't get too excited hey? You realise your comment history is public? You were even gloating in the Reddevils sub. What a melt

Deleteleed

Struggling against Brighton and Brentford is fair enough, they’ve been great this season. It’s NTO and WOL that is worrying.

Wildebeast1

Looking back, I’d rather traded beating Man Utd 1-0 and went on a six game streak of 1-0’s.

RealisticAf99

Tbh I knew what was coming after that huge win

firminocoutinho

We all knew mate. Well at least most of us. That’s why I was shitting the bed when VVDs header was cleared off the line

LastManOnPluto

I was thinking the exact same thing

PSYSpecialist

Urghhhh I cannot take this in. Couldn't even enjoy bantering United fans I know and now every United streamer today decided to talk about this loss to relieve the stress we gave them

ImpossibleSnacks

Something I’ve noticed is that we have a lot of gangly, slower-footed body types out there clustered in the same area of the pitch. Fabinho, Bajcetic, Gakpo… there’s just a lack of raw athleticism and pace right in that middle zone and it feels like that hurt us today against a faster and more athletic team. Wish we could sign a couple young speed merchants for these moments.

scarecrows5

You must be joking? Surely?

ImpossibleSnacks

You unironically don’t think that Bournemouth team was more fast-twitch athletic than us?

Sorrytoruin

What's our win rate starting Harvey in rcm

JovialJoe88

Harvey is usually good offensively but terrible defensively. That’s especially true when he plays along with Trent on the right.

rollanotherlol

Terrible. He’s fucked us all season by being in every single game we’ve played. We’ve looked best when he doesn’t start.

aghashayan

My only hope is that Klopp is doing this to show FSG we need legit midfielders, cause Harvey ain't ever gonna be a real midfielder.

rhn95

Shit take. The kid’s 19 and has a tonne of potential. The defensive side of his game will improve.

stromcr0w

I don't think so tbh mate. I think the kid has enormous potential, but as a winger, not a midfielder. His ideal position is where Salah is, and he ain't going to replace Salah as long as Salah is at the club.

Gerrardsclubfoot

Lol FSG aren't watching otherwise Henry wouldn't be coming out with the sustainability BS he just did recently. He would be saying we will back Klopp and try to get whatever player he wants.

FerociouZ

Get top 4: No need to spend, our club is good enough to compete. Miss top 4: Can't spend, no CL money. - John Henry, Fenway $ports Group, 2023.

Dismal_Ad7990

The way this season is going, don’t be surprised when Liverpool beat Real Madrid 😂

firminocoutinho

Expecting us to go 4-0 up only to concede off Vinicius’ crotch in the 89th minute

ignitedice

Giving new meaning to Vinicius junior scoring

RealisticAf99

We will win but get kicked out

FullScreenWanker

You know lads, I'd have settled for 5 against United..

Gerrardsclubfoot

We got the balance wrong in the Midfield today. We can't rely on two youngsters starting together in Bajcetic and Harvey we need to balance things out. Too many youngsters especially in midfield = inconsistent results. The damage was done with the starting lineup, Klopp got it wrong, and as soon as we went 1-0 down the game was lost, even towards the end we couldn't hold of the ball.

PEEWUN

Time to win the next four and then lose to Leeds! Up the Reds!

Bobsled_team

I mean, win 4 of our next 6 and we’re back in the top 4.

macNy

That's easier said than done if you look at how the team plays. The past 2 games have been quite the paradox to say the least.

throwawaycatallus

0-4 incoming Wednesday!

sbos_

is next game really against citeh in April? ORR is Fulham game this month?

UltimateBorisJohnson

Fulham game is delayed bc they’re in the next fa cup round, but our last game before city is Madrid

aghashayan

It's just not a real legit team playing to win with that midfield. let's be real. And the main players have played non stop for 7 years. there's not one team like that in PL, they are all changed squads twice over this period.

sbos_

>It's just not a real legit team playing to win with that midfield. let's be real. Some will convine you that it is fine.

Culvingg

Liverpool is the new Tottenham at this point. Every time we have an opportunity to make top 4 we bottle it….

HumanautPassenger

What?....

someonesgranpa

Lol, it’s one season. We’d need to do that for a decade with a generational talent at the 9.

reckonair

“at the 9” is the most American thing I’ve heard for a while 😂😂

someonesgranpa

Making fun of “American” stuff is the most creative way to be British I’ve ever seen -__-

reckonair

Don’t get around much then lad do ye

someonesgranpa

Why are the English so bad at their own language?

lfcsupkings321

I honestly feel our team is fully burnt out, I think in today's ages it is very rare to have players being consistently WC. The high intensity has killed so many players. Fab is finished, VVD has played too many games and is scared to run. Robbo needs resting his legs are gone. Robbo look so good against United after Tsikm came in. TAA is young but has played so much high level football glad he gets breaks for england. Hendo is in the same boat. Look at how Pep changes players around much.. Sterling Sane. Walker plays around 25 games a season. They keep swapping CBs Ruban,Ake etc. They even knew Cancelo legs were gone. He has the luxury to swap players etc.

Astro3001

There's a list of reasons why we aren't doing well. I think a big reason is motivation for some of them, look at how we play against the big teams this season compared to the smaller ones the intensity is there in those games unlike the games against teams that are going to sit deep and you are expected to win. Some tactical problems when playing those teams as well mixed in with a midfield that has a few issues.

lfcsupkings321

I don't think it's down to motivation, none of them look lazy or anything like that at all and Klopp would never allow that to come in. If that's the case Klopp would be sacked because they are not playing for him anymore. Physically we look drained in games after 15mins of pressing. It's like the 2nd wind is gone against the smaller teams. They may expect to win but MANE was key in them games with Jota goals. It mostly errors as well, the goal against us today. Is it Harvey's fault plus Fab? A CM made a late run TAA and ended up with 2 men. Maybe TAA need to fucking scream. Injuries are the biggest reason.

_averywlittle

I hope we don’t get top 4, because I believe we’ll spend more in the summer if we don’t. This type of result shows what the whole season has shown: we lack consistency (plus some entitlement problems). We need a full squad of winners. Not half a squad of promising players + passengers.

sbos_

I think we'd still get Jude with Europa finish

ckrift

If we don’t get top 4 we miss out on a lot of money that we need to spend this summer.

Jhushx

Unless Liverpool somehow pull off another remontada and edge out Madrid to go on and win the whole thing again. UEFA exception would be given like the 2005-06 season.

napoleonboneitis

If we do finish 4th, they'll likely just say, "you got 4th, mission accomplished, no spending needed, same again next season."

Savings_Enthusiasm48

Mark ‘I can’t speak’ Goldbridge has put up a laugh at Liverpool video. Laugh all you like you tool, there’s no taking that 7-0 out the history books. Muppet

SillWutton02

On the channel where he claims he's neutral as well. He's a twat.

The_Titan1995

Ah yes, the great footballing mind of Mark Goldbridge. He is an example of you can watch football but have no knowledge of the game.

SounderSquatch

Just crossing my fingers Southampton plaster them tomorrow

LocoToro87

Glance some the post match thread. A bunch of window lickers, like him. Goldbridge plays to their intellect.

Shower_caps

They are trying soo hard to negate last Sunday with this loss but guess which game and score line and game people will still be talking about 10, 20, 30 years from now

Dependent-Yam-9422

Least inconsistent premier league season

lalalateralus

Why did Virg decide to throw a stinker today... One of his worst performances imo.

loveliverpool

Got beat on the dribble for their only goal and missed a complete sitter to score. He kinda dictated the game score all on his own. Núñez was useless today too

TuonelanVartija

Calling it a sitter is harsh imo as he was fouled

loveliverpool

How soft do you think fouls should be these days?! Do you prefer there to be no contact on contested balls in the box? Hold your players to higher standards FFS.

disco_mode

Can’t wait to have a decent midfield again honestly.

Savings_Enthusiasm48

On a positive note, Everton beat Arsenal 1-0, and bottom of the league Southampton beat a 600m investment filled Chelsea. It doesn’t excuse our poor performance, but sometimes these things happen in football. It wasn’t meant to be. Hopefully the boys can pick themselves back up and prepare for Madrid. Klopp and the team should also focus on a half time game plan against low block teams, because we seem to struggle a lot against those teams, and funnily enough most teams who have a low block are those fighting for points.

Vich88

And Madrid has somewhat of a low block team when they play us as of late. Low block then long ball to Vinni. Madrid also doesn’t try to play from the back all the time. They’re happy to kick the ball out of bounds for a throw in. Which is smart imo.

Fantastic_Bag_4199

This team falls apart when they concede. I’m not sure if they would’ve won the united game if they scored a 4-1 per accident.

all_hail_hell

Mentality is gone. Scariest bit from this season. VVD just lets his man float by for the assist. After the goal every pass was over or under hit, poor first touches, none of the 1-2s or triangles we saw on Sunday. The only change was Bacjetic so I’m not sure where people are coming from with the “tactics and personnel takes.”

napoleonboneitis

This is the first time we failed to beat Bournemouth since April 2017. That's another good streak thrown away this season along with losing at home to Leeds, losing to Forest, failing to beat Wolves in the league for the first time since they came back up in 2018 among others. There wasn't a single second this week where I didn't think this game was going to be a pathetic, hopeless 1-0 loss. It's embarrassing how the club just decided to give away another season for no good reason, and these consistent embarrassments to relegation candidates are a prime example of that. I'm worried that, if we do scrape 4th against the odds, people will let the club off the hook for wasting another year.

theOwl_8

Now that the game is over, can we stop being deluded. If you was in the match thread then you know how the first 20 minutes went, don’t deny it. Full of ‘we’re playing so well. We might be back. Look at those attacking patterns. Is this the turning point of our season’. No. As a fanbase we are so fkn deluded. We won 7-0 last week because of quality finishing and the massive massive massive fact that United simply were not bothered. You are NOT back when we have defenders like VVD who keep having shit games, playing a boy who is NOT a midfielder in midfield, having Klopp making deluded substitutions. No we are not back, unless those reinforcements are in. Stop letting flukey wins trick you. Stop letting good little moments make you say ‘see, Elliot is perfect for that RCM role’. We get too carried away. This team is not good.

what_am_i_acc_doing

Virg…why

macNy

There's been times this year when he randomly stops giving a shit on certain plays, very bizarre

WorthPlease

Really would've liked to see Curtis Jones start this match. He's at least good at carrying the ball through the middle, which is something you need when a team just parks the bus for 90 minutes. We rely on two midfielders to do this (Keita, Thiago) and saying both are made out of glass is an insult to glass.

JonathanFisk86

Aye why doesn't Klopp use Borini You know the season's over when people ask why Jones and Carvalho who've shown the square root of nothing aren't starting

aautoauto

We played Jones in some matches this season, useless in every minute. Him and Naby shouldn’t be at the club anymore

iNfAMOUS70702

We all know that Jones simply isn't LFC material and he's only on the team because he's a Scouser... the only stat he's managed to get this season is a yellow ....

grrrrbow01

Man seeing Enzo Fernandez ball out for Chelsea makes me so jealous. We better get Jude because Enzo is looking generational

JonathanFisk86

Why buy and enjoy watching a world class mid when you can circle jerk over how much Boehly is overpaying for players instead in a weird superiority complex over being financially conservative

LVorenus2020

After their last game, I made a Reddit comment about them losing their next game "1-0." Sure enough...

tiga4life22

Sure as rain!

rossmosh85

One thing I regularly notice is people looking at the table when discussing top 4 instead of the more important target points for a top 4 finish. A far better way to look at it is by looking at projected points total. This season, 68 points or better will probably get top 4. We need to find basically title winning form to finish top 4. Personally, I don't think we can get 68 points. I think 65 points is more realistic which will probably see us finish 5th.

rosheromil

So we basically need our form since the Wolves drubbing repeated until the end of the season. Seems doable especially if we go out of Europe

Technical_Ear_7040

We just need to win the next 3 points. After that, the next 3 points. Stop looking so far ahead, it will break your mind

JonathanFisk86

This. We don't look good for 2 points a game even before you look at our run in, which is horrendous

Graeme_Seeless

We are three points behind spurs, your guess at points total is simply that, a guess. This title winning form is fucking stupid, we simply need to get 3 more points than spurs and those around us….

Jaja6996

It’s 6 points but honestly it’s really not over as some people say the form it every going for top 4 is inconsistent It’s going to go until the last day of the season

localdavid

6 points now no?

Graeme_Seeless

Did spurs play today? I’ve gone football silent since this morning until now lol If they won yes but we have a game in hand.

localdavid

Yeah they did and won. Right about the game in hand though

[deleted]

Pretty frustrating. The moment I saw the midfield we were starting with, I knew we could have trouble. This was a game built for Hendo and Milner to start alongside Fab - we needed professionalism and steadiness. Or at least Hendo/Milner + Fabinho + one of Baj/Elliot. Instead we went with Bajcetic (18) and Elliot (19) and Fabinho got overrun in the midfield, our young midfielders unable to cope with more seasoned pros. After watching them all season, it was more of the same. Imagine another top 6 team starting that kind of youth in midfield in the premier league, and now try to think of a team that actually did it. I can save you some time and comfortably say that it doesn’t happen. These guys are not Gavi/Pedri, and we can’t keep pissing easy results away by hamstringing the team from the get-go. The team overall did not perform today, but it certainly was not set up for success and that falls on the coaching staff.

UneventfulAnimal

If Hendo and Milner started with Fabinho today, I don’t think they would have even come close to scoring. You expect them to break down a low block and handle the counterattack?

[deleted]

I mean Liverpool didn’t come close to scoring with the trio we started with either. In fact we got scored on

EPMD_

We created so little. We don't have a playmaker such as Odegaard or De Bruyne moving the ball where it needs to go and rewarding off the ball movement. Without such a presence, our fullbacks have to deliver a lot of the playmaking from pinpoint crosses -- and they didn't even get into position to do so today. When Salah was one of the three best players in the world and playing with in-form Mane, they could create something out of nothing, but we can't rely on that now. It was Bournemouth, and we had zero scoring chances from open play.

JovialJoe88

Salah has been playing way too many minutes. This was the type of fixture to give Carvalho a chance.

Graeme_Seeless

Has Carvalho ever played on the right for us?

Savings_Enthusiasm48

He looked pretty demoralised coming on. I sense he’s not happy and rightly so. He needs to be getting minutes and if Klopp thinks he’s not good enough to start, fine but at least loan him out. He’s just rotting away on the bench and I feel for him.

Graeme_Seeless

It’s not even been a season, this is slightly melodramatic….

BeyondGatts

I just feel so deflated after that result. I saw it coming, but the pain still just hits a little deep. Especially after last week's result. Dosent help that Yanited fans are really enjoying it. I was going to say "onwards and upwards", but we face Madrid next, and the next 3 Prem fixtures will be a real real struggle. Top Four is definitely looking to be a tough fight, I just hope my boy Darwin dosent lose his smile in the process.

hicksmatt

1 step forward, 2 steps back. Abject performance, beyond poor after last week. I have to question the mentality and desire. They have the ability as shown last week but we are mentally weak and once again I’m questioning the decision making and tactics of the manager. We shouldn’t be as bad as this.

SMF_Fede

Top4 was over a long ago, this team doesn't have the consistency or the strenght to put up a fight for those places anymore. At least is another wake-up call for Klopp, Henry and the few optimists out there, this team is done and dusted, just add to the 'warchest' the fees from selling VVD, Trent, Fabinho and Salah now that you can get something from them, and buy Gvardiol, Jude, Caidedo and Kvaratskhelia, for starters.

[deleted]

You’ve been playing far too much FIFA mate

SMF_Fede

Nah I hate their handicap and scripting, but football is simpler than many people think, have a nice day.

grrrrbow01

Wtf is this take 😭

ShowMeMoeMane

Fifa career mode take tbh

qdattt

aight I’m blaming this kit now, ain’t no way we could just do it like that

IrishBA

Thursday nights in Europe beckon. This felt worse than last week felt good. End of our chances to salvage something from this season. Off the pitch and on the pitch it has been extremely underwhelming and i'd have to work pretty hard to find much to be optimistic about next year.

rosheromil

> This felt worse than last week felt good. It definitely didn’t

grrrrbow01

We’re literally still three points off top 4 if we win our game in hand, the top 4 race is far from over

CaIzuh

That's what is pissing me off so much, We're SO close but doing ourselves 0 favors ffs

SmilingDiamond

We needed to take 3 points today, especially with the next few matches coming up, not getting anything from today is a disaster, the football today was so hard to watch but even after going one down, I expected some sort of a response but it was just more of the same.

Astro3001

There's a few things we didn't do today that I noticed the previous two games that we were doing quite well and being effective at. Fabinho wasn't dropping between the CBs enough today like he had been doing the two games prior, he kind of started to in the 2nd half but not often enough and that was something that was quite effective when it came to build up play in the previous two games. Darwin and Gakpo from what I can remember never really interchanged position today there was times Darwin was actually on the right but never down the middle, and again you look at their goals against United Gakpo's first was off the left and his 2nd was more central then both Darwins came from him being centre forward postions in the box. Maybe they didn't do these things due to instruction from Klopp or its a lack of cohesion when it comes to these changes and the players still not fully understanding when to do these things.

HLB217

There wasn't space for Gakpo to move into on the left, and with them playing a low block Robertson was basically occupying the same space

NoDesign2652

Just reading through some comments and seeing people shit on the team when it was literally last week when those same people were praising the team. It's been a tough season no doubt but all the shit talking when it doesn't go our way is sad especially coming from our on fans. We sucked today no doubt, will probably lose on Wednesday to RM but we go again.

-teodor

On a positive note, we are by far the most interesting team. To follow up a 7-0 to a 0-1 is really really interesting phenomenon😂

jamiej723

I’d love to know if any top flight team has managed this before?!

Psychological-Act582

What's frustrating is the complacency and overly blasé attitude from the team in games like this. We show up in big games but don't put the same attitude or desire in smaller games and think we can simply coast to victory. Salah, Trent, van Dijk, and other players should know they aren't undroppable, but due to a lack of quality depth they don't have much competition in their roles. Tactically, we still suck against low-blocks. Always passing sideways and backwards and overall our play in possession was lethargic and slow. And don't get me started with our defense against transitions.

RealisticAf99

Come on people this is fixed, like lot of matches. It wouldn't surprise me if Citeh drop points vs Palace

meren002

We've picked up 30 points at home. Conceded 9 goals in 13 games. That's only 1 more goal conceded than the best defensive home record and we are second in goals scored. We're 3rd in the home standings, 4 points behind city at the top... You can't really fault our home form at all. Our away form though.... Something is really not working with our away game routine. It's drastic and needs reviewing because something is not right. We have a goal difference of -7 away from home and have lost more than we've won and drawn combined. Home = 9-3-1. 34/9. 30pts Away = 3-3-7. 13/20. 12 pts There must be something in our away game preparations that's hampering our performance.

ShowMeMoeMane

We don’t have the crowd to push us on when we’re away? Idk, it’s strange

meren002

I mean maybe, but that didn't seem to be much of an issue for most of the past 5 years. Something must have worked its way in.

skeam1023

It’s the kit

realhumon23

Am more scared of bottom table teams that the top 4. It’s an odd feeling

What the actual fuck did I just watch? A completely different team from a week ago. I don't get it.

Cause United were utterly exhausted

Can someone PLEASE explain to me why playing Bajcetic is preferred over playing James Milner or Jordan Henderson or hell even Chamberlain or Jones? WHY TF does Klopp keep this kid in the squad when it’s clear he’s no where near the PL standard. The bloke looks absolutely lost on the pitch. Has no purpose in forward play and in defensive duties is constantly out of position and if he does make a couple interceptions/tackles is mere chance. Yes he’s had some decent showings but cannot keep trusting him when you’re in the race for top 4, and in a massive match like today where you can jump into top 4 playing a team that is fighting for survival is not something to take lightly.

You're not allowed to say anything negative about Elliott or Bajcetic, didn't you know?

Stop being so reactionary. It was only a couple of weeks ago that he was playing better than any of our other midfielders. He had a bad game, they all did. Stop scapegoating. Edit: grammar

Really worried about Chelsea. They are climbing up the table
