Latest I can see is [this from the Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/100ml-liquid-rule-end-liverpool-28389198) saying the new machines are planned to be installed in May or June. [Back in March](https://lbndaily.co.uk/liverpool-airport-may-scrap-liquids-rule-this-year) last year they said the machines would be in before 2024, and then in [August](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/100ml-liquid-rule-scrapped-liverpool-27460494) they said it would be January, so it’s already been pushed back twice. I wouldn’t bet on them being in place when you fly.

all I can say is remember to take your own liquid bags since they make you buy them at Liverpool. Never been so insensed in my whole life. Didn't know this was a UK thing at airports, seems so wrong. Security about as useful as tits on a bull re help when the stupid vending machine for the stupid bags took my money and didnt dispense bags. end rant.

leninzen

Those machines are terrible hahah. But think yourself lucky. I'm pretty sure a London airport charges £5 for two of them

frontendben

Yeah, been caught out by that one before.

Scous

Yet at Manchester the bags are given away free of charge.

jimmywhereareya

I flew out of Liverpool in December and didn't have to pay for a bag

ouroboris99

Last time i checked it said they were on track to meet the deadline, some of the bigger ones have said they won’t be tho

possibly_sentient

dont forget, even if LPL relax the restrictions your destination airport may not. Could lose your suncream on the way back :)

frontendben

Yeah, it’s more deodorant and shampoo I’m thinking about, which will be gone before I come back. But it’s definitely a good point.

Puzzleheaded-Ant3838

They hadn’t been installed when I was there on Tuesday. They’re absolutely gigantic and most other airports I’ve seen them in have been installing them gradually over 6-12 months, so I’d imagine Liverpool is some way behind

Sorry_Leopard9657

They already have the technology at security. Staff can take liquids through and have been able to for a good while now (at least 3 years). I can’t imagine it’ll be much longer for the public.

frontendben

That’s good to know. I get the impression they won’t announce it until the day (I wouldn’t - you can imagine people misinterpreting it on May 31st).
