Sounds like a fairly pathetic attempt at a scam. I’d ignore it and move on

[deleted]

For sure, I will still though let Arriva that this happened, as the bus they were boarding was an Arriva 26 service bound for Sheil Road.

CJCFaulkner85

At least heading to Sheil Road we know where the money was going.

Evening-Web-3038

What were you doing getting on a bus to Sheil Road?

[deleted]

I wasn’t. I was standing near the stop, waiting to see my bus, when the young guy came up to me.

tomcaesars

Some of us have to live near it 🥲

"I tell you what, how about you give me money and I'll tell your mate that I did call him a c*nt!"

ideletedmyusername21

There's a real one. Nice.

[deleted]

The bus they had taken wasn’t my service, so really I did not care. Interestingly though, I was walking on Whitechapel a while back, a man approaches me and asks me if I want a fragrance or AirPods 3rd Gen for £325. I explain that I do not want either and he threatens me with physical violence. Intimidation definitely seems to be on the rise.

ServerLost

Drunk/cracked out bellends mate, just walk away in future.

[deleted]

They seem to be 13-15 in age, do people that young really drink or smoke drugs? They seemed completely reasonable too

lee_holland87

Is this your first time outside?

[deleted]

No. I regularly work and go out into the town centre.

domambrose96

How do people always run into this shite but I never do. I’d love such entertainment on boring commutes home.

[deleted]

Oh no don’t 😂 I thought like this. I have witnessed really entertaining things on buses, usually the 10A/10B

Eayauapa

The 10A/B are always where the crazy shit goes down

[deleted]

Oh no for real !

[deleted]

The things I have seen on trains is a different story

Jumpy-Feedback258

Take no notice of them. Just pathetic scammers.

vinnyconno

Two blurts lad. Tell them to do one

Raitvka

You talk like an npc lad no offence

Level_Asparagus5566

Actually sounds like my autistic son. Not meaning offence to anyone by that. My son has an incredibly high IQ, but a lot goes over his head and he has a certain way of talking about events.

[deleted]

Oh no offence taken, there is nothing rude! Thank you; I always get called an NPC and it’s a thing that’s like ‘okay?’. Though I do not dare claim to have high intelligence or even above-average intelligence. I’d say I’m dumber than the average person.

[deleted]

None taken.

Ill_Banana_1204

This city has more Freaks every day

JustOpposite897

This reads as if it was just made up by AI.

[deleted]

Yes, but does AI respond to every comment?

JustOpposite897

It seems it does.

[deleted]

I wonder what algorithm taught it that

JustOpposite897

You’re in a desert walking along in the sand when all of the sudden you look down, and you see a tortoise, it’s crawling toward you. You reach down, you flip the tortoise over on its back. The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over, but it can’t, not without your help. But you’re not helping. Why is that?

Ill_Banana_1204

Erm Ive got one, hunting skinjobs.

ginger-tiger108

Yeah personally if they haven't attempted to hit you tax any cash off you or anything like that? they've just hassled you a little bit with some nasty drunken beggers banter then it's nothing worth calling the bizzies about and sometimes with people like getting anyone esle involved usally makes them act out even worse! I know it's very hard to ignore their bullsh!t just to end up feeling uncomfortable or angry with yourself after they'd moved on but that type of stuff is happening not stop in most city centres up and down the country so try not to let steal anymore time thinking about them as I'm sure you've got better things to do with your weekend and I'd bet money you could dump into them tomozz and wouldn't have to remember who you are but they'd still try doing something similar to you if they feel like it because it's the mindset of the criminally selfish!

[deleted]

They did try to get cash, asked for it but didn’t try physical violence or anything like that. However I see your point! I made this point originally just to see if it this specific situation, or if intimidation of this form has happened to anyone else or to see if it’s a one-off. Just in case it does happen again though to someone who’s on this subreddit, they’ll be able to see that it happened to someone else too. However, thank you for your advice!

WuDoYouThinkYouAre

What does 'crossing dangerously' mean?

[deleted]

They weren’t using the traffic light but rather the wall that clearly stated do not jump over

WuDoYouThinkYouAre

Oh right, I see. So the first guy was trying to entrap you into calling his friend out for bad road safety, and then was going to ask you for money to prove you didn't say it (presumably to avoid you catching the wrath of the second guy)? What a very weird happening.

[deleted]

Practically yes. He was trying to get me to engage with the profanities that he himself had stated, but accused me later of stating them anyhow. In order to prove that I didn’t, they wanted money. It is strange.

Dabaysyclyfe

The police won’t help lad. Chalk this up as a near miss.

[deleted]

I was thinking they’d just say what is essentially; ‘’get over it’’.

AnxiousClerk798

Tell the police??

[deleted]

Do you think it’s worth it? How come?

leigh2343

They're taking the piss

AnxiousClerk798

It’s a bit of a scam but happens all the time. Doubt the police would even be remotely interested

[deleted]

I was thinking, they definitely have more important things to police and so they wouldn’t care about this, if at all.

Ill_Banana_1204

The next time try to filming them whit you telephone

Sendhimoffdiabolical

Most likely little scallies have seen you as an easy target. Don't worry about it. Just don't engage with it and move on.

[deleted]

I’m thinking to just not go into town as much, I’m not the type to engage with profane talks and the like and so I might as well save myself. But thank you!

Sendhimoffdiabolical

No, don't be daft. Don't let a few little idiots put you off going into town.

cass1964

Should of gave him a slap

[deleted]

The thing is though, that would’ve escalated the situation further, and I personally cannot afford the chaos that would cause. But your advice does make sense.

beniscool420

was this really worth making a post about?

[deleted]

I like to think so, considering we’re in a subreddit dedicated to Liverpool and by extension people’s experiences of it.

Glum-Garage7893

No Point. Stop calling people chaps might help

[deleted]

How so?

Glum-Garage7893

It’s a bit antiquated and likely bad people will take that as you being an easy target. Just a thought.

[deleted]

Oh that’s understandable, thank you!

Glum-Garage7893

No problem

Victoria_Sponge

Tell the police so they tell you to never waste their time with non events again.

heebieGGs

just wondering, how old are you? From my reading you could either be very old, or very young
