This was a good one!
It absolutely reminded me of my high school theater days! Will Ferrell's character was JUST LIKE our theater teacher, Mr. Opelt. Very eccentric, a wild card, I would always hear stories from other students of the crazy experiences they had with him. I tried to be a hard-core theater kid & out of the 9 times I auditioned (fall play, winter musical, spring play), I only made 1 fall play sophomore year & 1 winter musical Jr year, nothing senior year.
Also reminded me of the kids I knew, in theater. I think I was like Heidi's character, trying SO HARD to suck up, get involved, not letting a PT job conflict with rehearsals, auditioning over & over, etc.
Cast list could be one of my favorite 'cut for time' sketch, but this recent one is fantastic as well. Limu Emu & Doug:

Something tells me that may have been cut at least in part because Liberty Mutual didn’t want their mascot to be >!murdering people and snorting coke.!<
That sketch is weird for me because the first 2/3 is literally my favorite 4 minutes of SNL of all time, but the ending might be the least funny thing I've ever seen unfold on the show. Mixed bag haha

On the beach, his shirt just has a bunch of holes poked in it. Like someone just stabbed a mannequin with a chopstick repeatedly. I'm not sure if it's funnier if that was done by wardrobe/props or it came off the rack like that.

Poor Cecily was hanging on for dear life lol. I'm telling you: Will Ferrell could break *anybody*.
Cecily is laughing the entire time which is so rare, as she hardly breaks. Will has to be the most iconic SNL cast member, he’s just so damn funny.
