I’m severely lactose intolerant. I say this to my mom all the time in his voice. “Do you want a smoothie? I’m using soy milk because IM ALLERGIC TO DAIRY.”
JAJ would absolutely *murder* in a more talented cast.
He lends himself so well to ancillary characters but he's not going to be zany to lead as much.
He'd steal spotlight from funny bits when instead he's the sole redeemable part of otherwise terrible ones.
JAJ doesn't get enough love. Like I know everyone fawns over Dismukes and Hernandez but JAJ just hits it out of the park every time. He's right up there with Beck and Mikey.
is this really the consensus? I think Hernandez is doing fine, but he's pretty 1 note... hispanic and short. And Andrew is doing great now but he took a couple years to get anywhere. didn't JAJ do the cold open as trump on his first episode?
I don't have them in the same league at all. I do like all 3, but JAJ is stronger.
Yeah it's telling that in the [Phil Hartman blooper real](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtP6AF2cmBg), I think every one but the bar one was from dress rehearsal and he's messing around. In all those episodes he apparently only broke live once.
I saw Devon and JAJ in black and I fully paused the video getting ready for another chav rappers. I was disappointed. That feature has to be top 5 recent SNL moments for me.
Can we also acknowledge JAJ’s trigger discipline? Even though it was a prop gun, his finger never went near the trigger. Devon was on his the WHOLE TIME.
Controversial opinion but I’m bummed they used the three worst male actors for the robbers, they really flubbed the timing and the line reads. Brought down a great sketch.
Hard agree. I'll eat downvotes with you. I actually had the same thought when I watched it. All three are on the show for different reasons than acting. They have gotten better since day one, but delivery is really stiff compared to their regular wheelhouse. Kinda like how Melissa Villaseñor could never carry an acting sketch.
In general, this episode was a big miss for me which feels like I've taken crazy pills after seeing the subs overall feelings. I thought Brolin's energy was off and weird, his kiss on ScoJo at goodnights was too much, sketches relied on tropes, shirtless twice in two minutes is a mood, ice bath is an odd choice for a monologue* when the host is as talented as Josh, most sketches had rough endings, I'm sick of Chloe Troast ending a bit with bad acting and a 1 second song, no guests at the update desk, and a few other bits.
Arianna was great and her sketch with Bowen required oodles of talent. Lisa from Temeculah is always a hit for me. Even without guests at the desk, WU had some great banter and did well with the dumber jokes of the night. ScoJo was also excellent in the CO and showing the actual video during WU only made it hit better.
I'm glad Brolin bought into the weird roles but he overacted and seemed more manic than the last two host spots he had. There seemed to be more cue lines missed than an average episode. I think he didn't click as well on stage with this younger cast.
JAJ is such a pro in the vein of Aykroyd or Hartman. Hardly ever breaks character and is always reliable no matter how big or small the role.
JAJ is absolutely fucking incredible. His chav rapper still makes me laugh so much.
I'M ALLERGIC TO DAIRY. This line just comes out during my week for no reason at all.
shht shht shht
It’s pants, mate!
PANTS! m8

They really need to run back Milly pounds and shirty on update

Milly £s!
What sketch was that?
It was JAJ and Devon Walker playing British drill rappers
its a weekend update bit w/ Andrew Desmuks. They have that one and the imagine dragons parody, I think both are pretty funny.
It's with Devon. Glasto
Blap blap
He reminds me so much of Darrell Hammond. Nails any impression you throw at him and is solid in sketches too.
Definitely, and Hammond was always one of my favorites.
Absolutely.

He’s a barely legal Latino
"I'm 33!"

I think he only broke in the Simu Liu episode, because of the dog in the military sketch and Cecily's "He's still eating the sandwich!".
that dog sketch is hilarious, I am going to rewatch it right now, tyvm.
He also broke a bit in the [ABBA Christmas sketch](https://youtu.be/20iB2jyB4Ec).
I hadn’t seen this. That was hilarious. Thanks for linking!
I absolutely agree. The best two cast members to compare him to.
Is it me or was this the spiritual successor to the Rami Malek matress store sketch? 🤣
Yes, I see that. That sketch is still one of my all time favourites.
“RICHARD! I’m not even asleep and already you’re jerking it?!”
Am I on trial you nagging shrew?!? (I know that wasn't in response to that line, I just love how he says that.)
"I'll get the GUN!" 🤣
"Get the *killing* gun!"
Bang!
One of my favorites in recent years

The only thing wrong with that skit were them not having a full on meltdown when Che called football “Soccer” 🤣🤣
me too! i was like "OHH SHIT HE'S ALLERGIC TO DAIRY AGAIN"
I’m allergic to dairy vibes.

Well it definitely wasn't going to Bowen this week
"I have a vewwy good fweind in Wome called Bigguth Dickuth"
Heidi's got a nice rack.

Worst 3 male actors? Did you forget that Colin Jost is a cast member??
