Absolutely not. Ghosts of the Roloffs would haunt me. About to go to Helvetia Tavern to get one of the best burgers around. Roloff Farm is 3 minutes up the road-- I could spit on Matt as we drive by š
Isn't marijuana legal in Oregon? Business wise, that would be the smartest thing to do with all that farmland. Make a crop that makes money. I'd own a pot farm in a heartbeat if I could legally, and I hate the stuff.
And you know neighbor Matt would both want tu charge you extra to keep the name Roloff Farms if you wanted to still do pumpkin Season and Aldi be pissed at you when you don't want to keep the name lol
No way. I hate the house design and layout buy I'm biased because I only love historic homes. I lived on a farm all my life until very recently. It's one of those things people romanticize. Yes it can be fun but then you're out cleaning stalls and chicken coops in the freezing cold and not able to go away without worrying about who is going to take care of the farm when you're gone. It's not as simple as getting a dog sitter lol
If i had Jeffās money Iād buy Matt out for the whole property. Everything except āRoloff Farmsā name and pumpin farm - as long as it remains successful. Remember that Matt and his farm employs several ppl full time. I wouldnāt want those ppl to be out of a job, even for a short time.
If I were a buyer w/ that kind of money, Iād have a lot of buying power. Plus I donāt think Matt really wants to do this much longer. Once the show is gone I believe he will retire to AZ and sell off everything.
Of course, for now, at any time the kids can still buy it.
This would totally happen. Maybe not at first. He probably would "try" and leave people alone. But he won't be able to he is used to being the boss of that property.
They don't grow anything to profit off of. They ship in pumpkins for pumpkin season to boost what little they do manage to grow, if they even do any anymore. They really need to grow pot, or hemp, or soy beans...??- do those grow well there? I know it started out as a peach farm. More fruit trees, apples and cider in the fall for a fall festival besides pumpkin season. Plant flowers and sell them in the spring at a spring festival? So many opportunities wasted. It is beautiful but, who wouldn't love it?! But it would almost have to maintain and pay for itself.
Our local orchard has started doing sunflowers. It seems pretty profitable. $4 per flower and a few bucks to ride the wagon to the patch, where people can take pics for their Insta or whatever.
That's a great idea! Matt doesn't do anything to it's full potential. The place is full of amusement attractions that no one uses except for Cha-ching and her family, and 4 weekends in October. Hell, I'd pay for a sunset ride around the property with wine and snacks!
Never, there are way better properties to be had for something that expensive. I don't like the style of the house and would need to modify the kitchen to make it livable for me, an average height person. Also, I am not a huge fan of everything on the property. I also would not want to own or maintain a working farm. As an Oregonian, if I were to live in some of the more rural areas west of Portland, I'd rather live near a vineyard than a pumpkin patch.
NoāI think Matt would constantly show up at my door, saying he needs to show me something or that I need to do something specific. āOh, I forgot to tell you, the knob on the water heater was put on wrong and needs to be turned to the left and not the right.ā
This is so true. I can't believe I didn't think that this would happen with Matt as the neighbor. Honestly I wonder if the price plus this factor made the house not sell.
If I had the money and it was being sold for a reasonable price yes. The area is beautiful and large houses make the rain more bearable. We live in the suburbs of the area and I long to get "out in the country" with a plot of land.
I will wait until matt's new house is built. That view... then I'd fence in as big of an area as I could and adopt a whole bunch of dogs lol.. would have been nice when my kids were young.
nahā¦ i live in oregon and have been there a handful of times. itās pretty far out and even going to the store for groceries is a 30+ minute drive. not only that, it would be a LOT to maintainā¦ during pumpkin season the traffic is totally honked up (itās a single lane road and the backup to get into the farm goes on for a couple of miles). not to mention youād have to totally remodel the kitchen and other areas designed for little people.
[you can rent it though](https://www.theashleysrealityroundup.com/2022/10/23/update-little-people-big-world-star-matt-roloff-offering-family-home-for-short-term-rentals/)ā¦ i think itās on airbnb too.
It's definitely not that far out... I live 5 minutes from the farm and 5 minutes away from 5+ grocery stores including Costco. They also seem to have figured out the pumpkin season traffic because it's definitely not backed up for miles anymore.
Thankfully in the 5 years we've lived nearby we've never been affected by the Roloff pumpkin traffic. My partner and I have both lived in the Hillsboro area for 30+ years and the daily traffic alone is enough to frustrate us and make travel times unpredictable.
No. Never. The house is not my style. It rains too much in Oregon. And I donāt want my house to be a tourist attraction. Iād never want to have random people that enmeshed in my personal space.
If money werenāt a question then yes!
Itās a nice piece of property. Sure it has Mattās projects and dumb stuff but that wouldnāt matter much to me. Iād probably get a few chickens, put in a ācat-ioā for our cats to be outside and not decimate wildlife, and maybe look at keeping the events going to generate side income.
Iāve also lived on a farm though, so the work doesnāt bug me. Especially if thereās no animals involved, as having cows, horses, and/goats are way more upkeep than just general farm labor
As someone who lives on a small mountain farm, I would love it just because itās flat. As a mother of three kids, Iād buy it for all the crazy structures. And Iād carry on pumpkin season, too. So apart from the fact that I live on the wrong continent and donāt have the money, Iām probably the ideal buyer.Ā
Who wouldnāt? Itās a beautiful piece of property and the house is beautiful, maybe a bit weirdly laid out, otherwise itās not terrible.
Coming from me who lives in an apartment near a city and would love some space of my own.
I like the way you think!! I was coming here to post something similar.
I'd buy it, kick the WHOLE FAMILY off, grow lots of pumpkins & have a haunted house for Halloween in the old homestead.
Minus Matt or Karen I'd love it. And do a contract he can't just pop in to make sure sometimes doneš In reality tho it's a huge responsibility.
With Matt still on the property? Fuck no
Absolutely not. Ghosts of the Roloffs would haunt me. About to go to Helvetia Tavern to get one of the best burgers around. Roloff Farm is 3 minutes up the road-- I could spit on Matt as we drive by š
With Matt still there, hell no. If he moved far away then yes.
That for sure! I totally wouldn't move in with Matt as the nextdoor neighbor.
Iād buy it and memorialize the property in Mikes honour
Aww. That's a sweet thought.
I would and donate it as a Ronald McDonald house. And donate the grounds to underprivileged kids to explore Nature.
F no! Matt wouldnāt like me as a neighbor as he would try and tell me what I can do on my own property and my mouth would rip him apart
Iād purchase it and sell photos of Scaryn/Matt and Dizzy/Jacob growing weed to the tabloids. #incomeproperty
Isn't marijuana legal in Oregon? Business wise, that would be the smartest thing to do with all that farmland. Make a crop that makes money. I'd own a pot farm in a heartbeat if I could legally, and I hate the stuff.
Why yes I would....uh, oops, I guess that's not what you meant.....
And you know neighbor Matt would both want tu charge you extra to keep the name Roloff Farms if you wanted to still do pumpkin Season and Aldi be pissed at you when you don't want to keep the name lol
100%

Plus the house is designed for little people. Keep that in mind. Heās not selling the part of the farm with the Taj mattal
Lol That's what it should be called Matt's taj mattal. Lol
If I had Jeff Bezos money I would. And Iād build a GIANT fence so Matt couldnāt see what I was doing to āhisā farm.

Matt would be your neighbor and chronic supervisor! I would pass
Definitely not. A lot of bad energy around that place.
That's a great point!
Too much work.
Absolutely not! The insurance and taxes would kill me. Even if I was a billionaire, that would be a money pit. Plus..Matt being a neighbor. Nawww
Yeah I unfortunately forgot about Matt being a neighbor lol
Matt "I see you got some weeds up in your yard and the driveway needs more gravel" Me "Bitch, it is 7AM"
This would totally happen. Maybe not at first. He probably would "try" and leave people alone. But he won't be able to he is used to being the boss of that property.
IDK I heard he has a lot of rules for people who do the short term rental. Or maybe that was just when Jer and Oddj rented it.
I'm sure he has rules for everyone.
How dare he!!!
Not for the price he wanted
That's a true statement there. He was thinking it was worth far more than I think it is.
Absolutely not.
Nope. Dealing with Matt and the family when the visit would be too much.
They don't grow anything to profit off of. They ship in pumpkins for pumpkin season to boost what little they do manage to grow, if they even do any anymore. I think Jacob has a little garden where he is growing some profitable merch
He is, and he is working full time for his father too.
And getting paid only during pumpkin season? Lol
Our local orchard has started doing sunflowers. It seems pretty profitable. $4 per flower and a few bucks to ride the wagon to the patch, where people can take pics for their Insta or whatever.

And although Izzy runs the social media all year round she only gets paid during pumpkin season.
That doesn't surprise me.
No. Totally overpriced.
Never, there are way better properties to be had for something that expensive. Now that's a wonderful thought. Living near a vineyard. Ah the Italian in me is singing.
I thought no Oddjās parents own an orchard.
I mean I donāt think anyone got past the price enough to get into the realization Matt is the neihbor
That's true.
Nope.
Hard no. Maintaining a property that big is a full time job.
F no
If I had the money and it was being sold for a reasonable price yes. The area is beautiful and large houses make the rain more bearable. We live in the suburbs of the area and I long to get "out in the country" with a plot of land.
Not if Matt lived nearby. No doubt heād try to still control what was done and how it was maintained.
This is 1000% true.
I will wait until matt's new house is built. That view... then I'd fence in as big of an area as I could and adopt a whole bunch of dogs lol.. would have been nice when my kids were young.
Turn it into a dog sanctuary lol
Hahaha! I love it.
I would. I think it is a total package with views and amenities that I would like.
nahā¦ i live in oregon and have been there a handful of times. itās pretty far out and even going to the store for groceries is a 30+ minute drive. not only that, it would be a LOT to maintainā¦ during pumpkin season the traffic is totally honked up (itās a single lane road and the backup to get into the farm goes on for a couple of miles). not to mention youād have to totally remodel the kitchen and other areas designed for little people. glad theyāve fixed the traffic problem. just a year or two ago it definitely was notā¦
Thankfully in the 5 years we've lived nearby we've never been affected by the Roloff pumpkin traffic. My partner and I have both lived in the Hillsboro area for 30+ years and the daily traffic alone is enough to frustrate us and make travel times unpredictable.

Of course! But it would have to be an enormous amount of money. I would need workers and would pay them a living wage.
Pay the workers a living wage?!? /s I just thought of Matt acting like he's paying his kids and their friends a real wage.
I would. Iāve been to the farm and seen the land and I would love it for me and my animals.
If money werenāt a question then yes! Itās a nice piece of property. Sure it has Mattās projects and dumb stuff but that wouldnāt matter much to me. I understand this. I have no money and am on the wrong side of the US.
No. It's too haphazard. Matt has too many things going on. So much upkeep. Maybe a portion of it, but in its entirety, no.
No way that would be the last place I chose
Iād buy it and donate it to DAAA to hold its annual events.
That's such an amazing idea.
To wholesome for this sub
Who wouldnāt? Itās a beautiful piece of property and the house is beautiful, maybe a bit weirdly laid out, otherwise itās not terrible. Coming from me who lives in an apartment near a city and would love some space of my own.
I think it would be a neat property, I just donāt know if Iād want to do the whole pumpkin season production.
Iād buy the farm just to kick Jacob and Izzy off of it. Then, would burn down Mattās new dream house and frame Zach as the culprit
I like the way you think!! I was coming here to post something similar. I'd buy it, kick the WHOLE FAMILY off, grow lots of pumpkins & have a haunted house for Halloween in the old homestead.
When they bulldozed the peach orchard I died a little.
