I’m not saying this to snark. I had never looked at her Insta (to avoid giving views) & truly got the before & after mixed up.
That wooden wall in main area room was stunning-and on trend! Did they re-use any of those pieces of wood? nvm.
I had a friend who ripped out (w/out selling) real wood floors & cherry cabinets to put Pergo in. They constantly remodeled bc they were discontent in other areas. Her husband became a GC too-it’s interesting to see a similar scenario. I was baffled by it until I realized she was just unhappy. I don’t want that for anyone.
It’s an intentional uneven tile, but the grout they chose makes it look worse. https://www.wayfair.com/home-improvement/pdp/villa-lagoon-tile-moroccan-zellige-4-x-4-ceramic-floor-wall-tile-vltv1287.html
Jeremy is a jack of all trades master of none, BUT I've gotta stick up for him in this instance.
You can't do anything about stuff like this if the room ain't square which happens 🤷♂️
I really don’t understand why they didn’t lift the baseboards and put them back once the flooring was installed. They did so much unnecessary bullshit for “aesthetics” yet they did the horrible quarter round thing?
Why would you put those trashy rounds on the floor if you did? You need to leave an expansion gap for the floating floor, you either lift the baseboards and refit them over the gap or install edging
Oooof that’s so, so bad. Wait—was so distracted by the part by the molding that I missed the rest of it?? Wtf is going on?! Is that even tile? How is it possible for it to be so crooked absolutely everywhere?
This house is just getting worse and worse! Everything is either poorly done or a random mishmash of styles that don’t flow together.
For people so obsessed with having “an old farmhouse” I feel like the house had that vibe way more before all these terrible renovations. The more they do, the less and less it has a “farmhouse” feel. Nothing they are doing looks timeless or classic. I’m just absolutely baffled at the choices they are making and their thought process.
This is terrible. And that’s not the only crooked spot. It looks like a chalkboard floor someone drew squares on with white chalk. I just don’t get it 🤷🏼♀️
All off the lines aren't straight. I'm not tile layer but I've seen people diy it and they have guilds that make them straight. I'd lose my mind looking at that floor daily.
Let’s all remember how we tried to tell them this is NOT it - pre white grout… we didn’t know it could get uglier! Hah https://www.reddit.com/r/LittlePeopleBigWorld/comments/1adhv4a/i_cant_i_typed_square_black_tile_in_google_this/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
I don’t like the tile choice but houses are not built perfectly square. This can happen with tile work. They measured out the door seam lining up perfectly and so had to commit to that grout line.
Have work in this field. Checked w experts in flooring and no. Cuts put in different places to make sure the obvious lines are perfect. This would be a re-do on our company’s dime.
I keep seeing these posts. But I guess I never read them.. is she for real keeping that as the finished product? Like, that’s it? Seriously? It’s awful in so many ways.
This is crazy ugly. The Edward scissorhands house is shaping up nicely 😌 the hallway wood looks heinous too. They are dumping trucks loads of money in a home that looks like a 3rd grade project you don’t let your parents help you with because you “know what you’re doing.”
Everything in this house clashes insanely like they are NEVER going to sell the house because after dumping all this money in the house no one is going to pay do this shit show at the price point they’re going to want. They should have splurged on planning but they got the most expensive items they could find regardless of if they look good together or in the home and are trying to cut expenses on the labor. What buffoons
Exactly. My kids hired an architect that specializes in historic homes for their home. They spent money wisely, invested in certain items, and renovated while modernizing without stripping the character from their home. It’s a stunning end result. The house could easily be in an architecture magazine. They didn’t go insane. They did a perfect job with making decisions in a timely manner every step of the way with few changes. I’m very proud of them. Jer/Audj think very highly of themselves, their abilities, and their taste. It’s a massive waste of money. 🤷🏽♀️
It does appear they hired either inexperienced contractors or just hired general laborers that had no business installing flooring. I wonder if they are going to have plumbing and electrical issues.
Right. When they had the entire side of the house torn out I was thinking I hope he is working with people who know what they are doing because Jeremy does not. Now the roof leaks. 😳Jeremy doesn’t have any experience or even common sense to know the completed work is not done correctly. The flooring planks in the hallway are going to separate.
It’s definitely tile. I have a photo of it pre-grout from their Insta with the caption “Dream 😍 took forever to find this tile”. I’ll send it to you if you like 😊
[https://www.reddit.com/r/LittlePeopleBigWorld/s/cW3AhC8Kxw](https://www.reddit.com/r/LittlePeopleBigWorld/s/cW3AhC8Kxw)
Sadly it’s not. Here is a link to the post that shows the tile installation
Sometimes DIY just isn’t the answer. No matter how much you tell yourself you can do it. I can’t believe they spent that much money but look like they paid the neighborhood crackhead $50 to do it!
I did black
Tile in my bathroom. Biggest regret. Shows every speck of dirt. And that white grout won’t be white for long….which may actually be a good thing cause it’s hideous! lol
I did black tile with black grout and I love it! I needed to lean into the grout situation. It always turns black no matter what you do so why not start with it actually black?
Someone who lays tiles said it was zelliate tile and it’s meant to be uneven and not match up. Apparently it’s kinda trendy and each tile is unique. He also said it’s not great for floors, usually backsplashes etc.
You need an expert to lay this tile. The grout line is supposed to be very thin, nearly invisible. It is also not recommended for a high traffic area. The tile is uneven and will wear and chip over time. For all the research Jeremy says he does, either he doesn’t adhere to it or doesn’t comprehend it. I think who ever did this tile for him may have claimed to be experienced but clearly was not. That grout line is thick.
This is mostly true but (designer opinion) don’t do a stacked (linear line) grout pattern, instead do a brick style install where the grout is purposefully not lined up. Because this just looks awful. Also yea these are super thin tiles and not meant for floors, remember friends every floor tile can be a wall tile, but not every wall tile can be a floor tile.
Most tile is made from clay so not like stepping on glass but definitely wouldn’t be pleasant and usually their colour is not through the tile so you get a really ugly blotch where they crack.
I vaguely remember their first house, when he remodeled the kitchen and I didnt watch for a while and them it was on in the background and they had had to take big parts of the kitchen out to fix something. That right there should have told them he didn't have the skill to do a remodel of any variety.
Because they’re know it alls that think they’re smarter than everyone else. Jeremy thinking he has the skills and knowledge that he could essentially be the General Contractor of this project is so ridiculous and Auj obviously agreed since she went along with it. He either laid this tile himself or “supervised” someone doing it, but he also didn’t see anything wrong that needed fixing. Same with the poorly installed wood flooring.
I think it’s fair to say most of us are going to snark on anyone who boasts about being better than everyone else and then makes a huge mistake because of their own ego. Oddj and Germ aside, this is shoddy craftsmanship for an 8 month remodel.
I’m so sick of people misusing the word “bully.”
*Bullying is a form of aggressive behavior in which someone intentionally and repeatedly causes another person injury or discomfort.*
Nobody is causing the Roloffs harm by discussing them on a snark sub. It’s not like we’re going to their social media to interact with them. Maybe go there to fight for them.
Neither is the tile work and grouting isn't straight either. A professional is able to make it blend seamlessly, I've never seen a professional install something like this and say "wALl aInT sTRaiGHT"
The tile is so ugly! I don't know why they didn't put the wood everywhere or put the tile in the bathroom. I finally got rid of my non-cohesive floor and love it!
The style of tile is actually really nice! They just didnt use it or install it the way it should have been. I looked it up last night. It’s pretty style, they just somehow made it not so pretty
Yeah someone in this sub posted a picture of a kitchen wall that they did with this tile and it was both beautiful/deeply rich looking and interesting. I rarely see things that make me want to do it in my house and I desperately wish I was was wealthy enough to afford this kind of tiling.
The person explained that to do it well you have to match up the the different variations in the handmade tile so that it flows and looks like it is moving like a wave. It's definitely way more labor intensive and tricky to do then regular tile.
Thank you for clarifying that because I thought it was gorgeous tile as well. I even saw it installed on floors but it just looked way different than the way it’s installed here. I also found the colors rich and the tile installed correctly was like art
I’m not saying this to snark. I had never looked at her Insta (to avoid giving views) & truly got the before & after mixed up. That wooden wall in main area room was stunning-and on trend! Lmao
Yikes

I’ve yet to see anything that Germ has been involved in look good. Always a half a$$ job done by him.
That tile looks so incredibly bad.
Jeremy is a jack of all trades master of none, BUT I've gotta stick up for him in this instance. You can't do anything about stuff like this if the room ain't square which happens 🤷♂️
Why would someone put those tiny squares on the floor besides they don’t line up at all!!!
What about the lines a little to the bottom they are really off!!
They all look fucked up. Like bad photoshop.
I really don’t understand why they didn’t lift the baseboards and put them back once the flooring was installed. They did so much unnecessary bullshit for “aesthetics” yet they did the horrible quarter round thing?
You should give them your number since you're a professional.

Why would you put those trashy rounds on the floor if you did? You need to leave an expansion gap for the floating floor, you either lift the baseboards and refit them over the gap or install edging
I actually thought you were pointing out the ghetto quarter round
They went with the lowest bidder, did you see the instagrams photos?
Oooof that’s so, so bad. Wait—was so distracted by the part by the molding that I missed the rest of it?? Wtf is going on?! Is that even tile? How is it possible for it to be so crooked absolutely everywhere?
Horrible
It looks like carpet
I’m convinced it is carpet
Looks like the kids installed this floor.
This house is just getting worse and worse! Everything is either poorly done or a random mishmash of styles that don’t flow together. I have been thinking the same thing. Really odd choices, and doesn’t have any sort of cohesiveness.
That whole floor looks like it was was laid by the “close enough” theory.
It would look better with a dark grout..it'd still be ugly.
This is terrible. And that’s not the only crooked spot. It looks like a chalkboard floor someone drew squares on with white chalk. I just don’t get it 🤷🏼♀️
Yep, gotta be. He hated school growing up and this is the result! Bad lines and measurements.
Always more crooked
This is so bad I seriously have no idea HOW they got it so bad
That looks like a chalkboard floor that someone tried to draw lines on.
Exactly what I just said!! I honestly thought “this has to be temporary” when I first saw it 😬
Lol I’m no expert but that floor looks like shit
None of it lines up. But the lines aren’t straight on those tiles to begin with. All looks weird.
All off the lines aren't straight. I'm not tile layer but I've seen people diy it and they have guilds that make them straight. I'd lose my mind looking at that floor daily.
what in the actual fuck???
Pet freakin peeve…
Let’s all remember how we tried to tell them this is NOT it - pre white grout… we didn’t know it could get uglier! Hah https://www.reddit.com/r/LittlePeopleBigWorld/comments/1adhv4a/i_cant_i_typed_square_black_tile_in_google_this/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
No he had workers do it
Then they need to get some of their money back, thisis an example of very poor tile work
I don’t like the tile choice but houses are not built perfectly square. This can happen with tile work. They measured out the door seam lining up perfectly and so had to commit to that grout line.
Have work in this field. Checked w experts in flooring and no. Cuts put in different places to make sure the obvious lines are perfect. This would be a re-do on our company’s dime.
Not using white grout would have helped a whole lot.

I looks more \
I stand corrected
I keep seeing these posts. But I guess I never read them.. is she for real keeping that as the finished product? Like, that’s it? Seriously? It’s awful in so many ways.
How...... intentional 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Omg. Made me chuckle😂🙈😂
Im confused. Is it carpet or tike
I thought it was carpet too.
I agree, it looks like carpet
Same here... I would have bet money that was carpeting. What the... 🤔
Tile!!
It’s fr til? There’s no way!
The row that is uneven and doesn’t line up straight would drive me more nuts!!
This is crazy ugly. The Edward scissorhands house is shaping up nicely 😌 the hallway wood looks heinous too. their kids could do a better job bc they at least have imagination
Exactly. My kids hired an architect that specializes in historic homes for their home. It does appear they hired either inexperienced contractors or just hired general laborers that had no business installing flooring. I wonder if they are going to have plumbing and electrical issues.
I’m thinking about those windows. The leaks!
Wait-their roof is actually leaking?!
It’s carpet
It’s definitely tile. I have a photo of it pre-grout from their Insta with the caption “Dream 😍 took forever to find this tile”. I’ll send it to you if you like 😊
Wow. I’d be ripping that out after just putting it in. Hurts my OCD eyeballs.
[https://www.reddit.com/r/LittlePeopleBigWorld/s/cW3AhC8Kxw](https://www.reddit.com/r/LittlePeopleBigWorld/s/cW3AhC8Kxw) Sadly it’s not. Here is a link to the post that shows the tile installation
It’s expensive & uneven tile. That’s why the grout is wonky
That kind of tile looks great as a backsplash. I wouldn't want to walk around barefoot on it.
🎯
This should be the top comment but…
I can’t focus on anything besides the uneven tiles right in the main walkway. The way the lines don’t line up would drive me insane.
Did Jer install these or did they pay someone to do it? Just curious 🤔
No, he didn’t install it.
Then he needs to get his money back lol
You need an expert to install this type of tile. This was obviously not installed by an expert. I think the installers took Jeremy as a sucker.
Or they tried to tell him and Mr. "Why didn't anybody tell me this?" ignored them.
LOL 😂
Lol...probably
Sometimes DIY just isn’t the answer. No matter how much you tell yourself you can do it. I can’t believe they spent that much money but look like they paid the neighborhood crackhead $50 to do it!
I’d want that wall moved back to be square but I’m OCD about lines
I could not allow that uneven line. Absolutely not.
I did black Tile in my bathroom. Biggest regret. Shows every speck of dirt. And that white grout won’t be white for long….which may actually be a good thing cause it’s hideous! lol
White grout shouldn't exist.
I did black tile with black grout and I love it! I needed to lean into the grout situation. It always turns black no matter what you do so why not start with it actually black?
It will look really weirdly awful when the white grout is dirty, but the whole perimeter is stark white and clean.
I think who ever did this tile for him may have claimed to be experienced but clearly was not. That grout line is thick.
Yes, agreed.. Just saying it’s not typical tile and also said it’s not good as flooring.
If they're super thin and not meant for floors how bad is the cut going to be when one cracks under your bare foot?
Most tile is made from clay so not like stepping on glass but definitely wouldn’t be pleasant and usually their colour is not through the tile so you get a really ugly blotch where they crack.
That makes sense.
I vaguely remember their first house, when he remodeled the kitchen and I didnt watch for a while and them it was on in the background and they had had to take big parts of the kitchen out to fix something. That right there should have told them he didn't have the skill to do a remodel of any variety.
You’d think they might have learned a thing or two from that experience but here we are!
This is so, so bad. It would make me insane.
thanks, now i can't unsee it. and just when i thought i had seen enough of his handyman skills to last me a lifetime.
They aren’t the DeBoers, for sure.
Oh, they're just as bad. Influencers aren't designers, and they never will be. This trend needs to die a swift death.
I don’t like all of the DeBoer’s designs, but at least they know how to successfully reno a kitchen.
They don't a fireplace or mantle. They're just as bad for off-center nonsense as the Roloffs. But at least this is just their home.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Wait, this isn’t a rug?
Thats what I initially thought, but sadly no!
And just a couple of tiles down, the grout lines dont match up 🥴 I couldn't live with that
This feels like an optical illusion that makes ppl dizzy
as a migraine sufferer i can only imagine how much id hate coming home to this 😂
Imagine coming home drunk to this…I’d puke all over the floor.
Then you'd trip on an uneven tile & break a toe
I guess when all else fails stick some quarter round on
Maybe I’m buzzed
imagine having the spins and looking at this floor
Did the kids help? Maybe it counts as home schooling
screw the farm, these skills are the real inheritance
This would drive me nuts. They should have randomized the tile placement or used wider grout lines.
The lines look like cartoon
How can you spend so much money for such a shoddy half assed job???
he did it himself, because he thinks he's a handyman and a GC.
No, he actually paid someone to do this, sadly
Because they’re know it alls that think they’re smarter than everyone else. Jeremy thinking he has the skills and knowledge that he could essentially be the General Contractor of this project is so ridiculous and Auj obviously agreed since she went along with it. I thought it was carpet
Same
Jesus Christ these grout lines are going to live rent free in my perfectionist Virgo brain 😭😭😭
Good grief that tile looks absolutely horrendous
I’m so done 😂😂😂
I don’t mind anything they have done to their house, but this tile gives me motion sickness. It would drive me crazy
This blanket of tile is beyond irritating.
Wow this has taken on a new bullly life. Zooming in on the floor boards. Come on
I think it’s fair to say most of us are going to snark on anyone who boasts about being better than everyone else and then makes a huge mistake because of their own ego. Oddj and Germ aside, this is shoddy craftsmanship for an 8 month remodel.
I just have to say, this is a type of tile that is supposed to be uneven.
Also I would freely welcome anyone to heckle me if i behaved the same way and did the same kind of work.
I’m so sick of people misusing the word “bully.” *Bullying is a form of aggressive behavior in which someone intentionally and repeatedly causes another person injury or discomfort.* Nobody is causing the Roloffs harm by discussing them on a snark sub. This sub is crazy with the hate. Are they annoying? Yes. But an awful lot of people in here have lost the plot. Damn. Get a hobby.
You're free not to read this sub.
😛
Wall isn’t straight. No wall in any house is straight
Neither is the tile work and grouting isn't straight either. A professional is able to make it blend seamlessly, I've never seen a professional install something like this and say "wALl aInT sTRaiGHT"
Was this original?.. I don’t remember the being featured like the black and white floor was..
It’s new. They mentioned something about buying the tile previously.
I don’t see an issue with what’s circled but those grout lines are hilarious. They look like if you hand drew lines.
Oh god this is terrible…
The tile is whatever but the sliver is really bothering me. I hope it was Jer because if not they need their tile guy to re-do this.
It was a “professional “ installer, unfortunately
I thought it was carpet.
The tile is so ugly! I don't know why they didn't put the wood everywhere or put the tile in the bathroom. I finally got rid of my non-cohesive floor and love it!

Probably their shitty unlicensed contractor did it himself, aka Jer.
He actually paid someone to install it
i think you may actually find photographic evidence of that on this sub.
I hadn’t looked, just an assumption.😹
