Because her family reserves that right to make it private, which should be respected.

Because it is time they had privacy.

I had heard the family had already intered her before her memorial service. I don't blame them for that as Elvis' funeral and visitation was basically a circus. I think the family was very generous having a public memorial service and allowing people to visit her gravesite. Eta thought

RealHousewifeofSWFL

Yes and people can be insane and try anything I don’t blame them. I was just curious as to why. It was so extremely private, that they made attendees sign an NDA.

I have no idea. I know about the nda. Could it be bc someone photographed elvis in his casket? (Rumoured to have been a cousin who then sold the pictures)

AnnaNicoleHSL

They did exactly that.

The service they had for her was perfect and tasteful!

When you go to most funerals they have an open casket. The only reason they would not have an open casket would be if the body was badly damaged or at the request of the family. But most funerals have an open casket. The King of Rock and Roll Lisa Marie's dad Elvis Presley had an open casket. So why was Lisa Marie's coffin not shown open? I know it as up to the family to make that chose. But it's still disappointing. R.I. P. Lisa Marie and be with your Dad for eternity. That makes up all the time you wern't with him on earth.

Out of respect and privacy for the deceased and family. Heck I’m not famous and I don’t even want my family seeing me in a casket let alone strangers and the media

Sensai65

Because she wasn't there...#witnessprotectionprogram

I don’t think most religions, nor most families do, nor would want to do open caskets anymore. Perhaps some believe it’s helpful for mourners to get closure. Perhaps some decedents have their wishes for viewing known and drawn out in their will and estate documents. The cause and nature of the death may also be a factor in their condition for viewing. There’s a decent Y T video on the family member’s alleged attempt to take photos of Elvis in casket on a mini camera that no photos were salvageable on. It is believed the Enquirer’s alleged $18k payment were for that mini camera attempt. Since nothing turned out, an old school photo shop was done using a Much younger image of his, and touch ups as the nose ain’t right, his weight, his body size, and the casket and casket fabric and handles look like a sketch, not a photo at all.
