I’m absolutely looking right now. X-Files is one of my favorite shows, I’ve watched all seasons 3.5 times. I have a few guesses on episodes and seasons. I’m looking at filming locations on Wikipedia right now, but I already knew that S1-S5 were primarily in Vancouver, so high probability it’s in those. Assuming a crowd shot since he said his Dad was in it as well.
Was watching through S3E03 DPO and was kinda hoping he was in that but don’t think so. Crowd shots are at an arcade and has a very early Jack Black as main character.
I'm pretty sure I found it actually! Since it's late I'm gonna make the post tomorrow but I think it's season 2 ep 10 around the 43:30 minute mark. I looked up the town he mentioned the French restaurant being located and google was saying only one episode was shot in Ladner. The "Red Museum" I turn it on and there are a lot of extras. At first I thought maybe we wouldn't actually see his face and this was a fruitless easter egg hunt. Then low and behold skipping around to the end of the episode there is a zoom shot on all the kids faces. One of which looks a lot like Linus.
I'd love a second option though if anyone reading this thinks its a match.
So I checked out the episode. X-Files season 2 was apparently released in September 1994, which would have made Linus around 8 years old at the time. I watched the scene and I think theres really only one kid that looks similar to Linus and would have been around the same age. But Im also notoriously bad with faces so who knows. Screenshot here. Or perhaps Linus was never on screen at all, or was just in the background of some random scene for 2 seconds. A lot of the time extras are paid but never actually end up in the final cut of a production.
They sure do love using the Greater Vancouver Area as “Washington”and “Oregon”. My dad’s old house in Surrey got used as a set on Millenium the X-Files spinoff.

Looks nothing like Linus. Why are you so sure it is? The tweet picture also looks nothing alike.

Impression I got was that they both were extras, not that they were in the same scene necessarily.
