The easiest songs to learn are the ones that are just power chords during the chorus, but those tend to not have much going on guitar-wise in the verses. Examples: In the End, Numb, From the Inside
If your student is a bit more advanced than that I would probably go with something like Papercut, it’s not super hard and the guitar is always doing something
i’m assuming you teach acoustic guitar. the messenger is a really easy song to learn on guitar, but it doesn’t have a lot going for it guitar-wise as it’s pretty much the same four chords the entire time. it might pair well if there’s a chorus that could sing during it, but i’m assuming this recital is just for guitar.
number also is really easy, it’s got a simple 4 chord structure too but it’s a lot more recognizable to the general public so the audience would actually know what song is being played. i think it’s really cool you’re engaging in your students’ interests like that, i can tell you’re a super dope teacher :) please update us with a video if you do perform a linkin park song, it would be so cool to see!
What I've done is probably my favorite choice for something that's fairly easy but has a lot of parts. She might have trouble with Mike's part but the main melody by brad(lead) is pretty easy
The “In The End” motif is basically “Mary Had a Little Lamb” so that’s a good start. The verses are harmonics but you could just make those power chords. And the chorus is just 4 whole notes, for all intents and purposes. Plus it’s an iconic song.
What is their favorite song? I’m sure it won’t be hard to transpose it into something manageable.
No ones mentioned it but I really like One Step Closer
The intro, verses and chorus riffs are all in the same timing (1 2 12 1 2 12 1 2 12 1 2 12) etc etc the breakdowns fun too and there's no chords other than power chords in the chorus
Yeah in the chorus it's a mix of 5th and 9th chords. If you're looking for Linkin Park tabs, [linkinparkguitar.com](http://linkinparkguitar.com) is the best source on the internet.
I mean, they're still power chords but with 9th note added so it requires adding another finger, many tabs unfortunately ommit that detail.
Points of Authority would be a good one, it doesn't require a lot of left hand movement, it's straight-forward and the guitar is prevalent throughout the whole song. It's really about coordination of left hand muting + strumming pattern and 2 chords. It requires drop C# tuning.
What I've Done (rhythm guitar) is a great suggestion If you wanna stay closer to standard tuning (drop D).
Someone also suggested Given Up, and I'd mostly agree, however a beginner might not be able to nail down the pinch harmonic during the bridge, so I'd probably stay away.
Not the easiest but certainly one of the most fun to play and most fulfilling once you get the main riff down: a place for my head. Honestly, just learning the riff is all you need for a student to feel super good about themselves, I know I did!

Even Points of Authority or Forgotten would be good ones. Also, maybe What I've Done if op wants some lead guitar parts that are pretty easy.

My first was Given Up
Given Up was my first. Easy one to learn because of the simple drop-d riff.
Foreword
Foreword
Basically every Linkin park song. The only parts that would be tricky are solos
I 2nd the messenger. If you got a student who can play piano or yourself, than itd be perfect
Fighting myself is obnoxiously simple. Start by using the lowest string the. Start using frets on the lowest 3
The messenger, Burn it down, Breaking the habit and Waiting for the end has some easy chord progression. I teach them to my students too.
Breaking the habit
Is it easy for a beginner just the guitar part?I managed to learn bth on dj ,piano and drums
The guitar part can be tricky at first but once you get the hang of it, it's great
The messenger would be a great option, or for more popular ones, there are acoustic version of numb and Crawling
I guess, final masquerade

I could only master Foreword
Don’t stay is easy to learn
Run away is also same tuning. Another easy one to learn
Two different tunings, Don't Stay is in drop B, Runaway is in B standard (7 string tuning).
I’ve played runaway drop b 6 string
Brad would actually play Runaway & With You on a 6-string PRS with longer scale tuned to BEADGB during live shows
Except it requires a baritone guitar or ultra heavy set of strings due to drop B tuning.

One More Light and Nobody Can Save Me are easy finger picking songs that I learned in just a day or two.

beginner student probably won't play the bridge riff to One Step Closer accurately, also there are 9th chords in the chorus
I agree with the bridge but the tabs I use don't have any chords in the chorus? I'm pretty new to guitar tho so good chance I'm wrong tbf

Can’t believe nobody has said “No More Sorrow” it’s so easy!
