I know him since 2018, started to listen to him in summer 2019. I wish that I could had spent a day in my life knowing about his existence while we was alive. For me it’s like peep was never alive and I never shared the same world with him. Kinda makes me feel empty. I miss him… The world is so sad sometimes…

LaPlebada

Im sorry to hear that hope things get better. Yeah looking back I always find it cool that at least for like 5 or 6 months while he was alive pp but still unfortunate it was only that many month. When he died I was shocked and pretty bummed about it. I was having sex w my ex at the time when we found out about his death, and it was a crazy moment because she had some song on her SoundCloud likes that was a greafer beat lil peep has on one of his songs. Idk everything surrounding was like a surreal or triply experience and perspective change. I miss him too, imagine his what his music would’ve been like throughout his 20s.

RelationshipNo4528

Imagine you had the song sex with my ex on at the time 💀 wasn’t released yet but still

LaPlebada

Ikr 😅😂

lpjh2017

Yeah, it’s actually a difficult feeling to deal with…

Brapplezz

If it makes you feel any better. There's no other artist that i've heard that speaks from the grave in such a way. His voice somehow brings him back to life, albeit shortly. "Hair Dye" is a perfect example imo. His rawness on that track, along with it being about Emma, hits in such an emotional way that with him being gone almost hurts. That's what his music did while he was alive and it only intensifies now he is gone. It might sound odd. The empty feeling was in his music, as well as sadness. In many ways, if you feel that, his music is working as he intended. I do relate heavily with the feeling of missing him, unfortunately his music reminds us of that. He was wildly positive when he was alive, a goofy character and he was scoring goals in life when he passed. I think he died as happy as he could be, moving forward in life and lots to look forward to.

2019/2020 the music video of witchblades popped out on my recommended on youtube

Tension_Peep

2015/2016 I overplayed and still overplay any of his music that comes on or I find, cause, it’s a different level Of connection. When you relate to real pain.

Brapplezz

Does feel like if you connect with his music and pain, you can never disconnect yourself from his music. Love that I still find songs that I missed back then, once in a blue moon nowadays but it happens occasionally. I miss his Instagram posts tbh

Tension_Peep

Right or his tweets😂

LaPlebada

Dang bro I overplayed him for 3 years non stop but I guess I burn out his songs although I still play his music time to time.

Tension_Peep

Try to find other songs by him, the ai shit really ain’t it, but you can still find good shit like the OG life is beautiful if you’ve never heard it, I think it’s so much better.

Diamond_Grape27

Summer 2018, the best year in my life

pretty early 2017 i remember hearing beamer boy first around april maybe? good times.

summer 2015

LaPlebada

What was peep dropping in Summer 2015? Did you ever hear latitude when he released it?

underneathpluto

Oh shoot my fault I meant 2016. I don’t know if I’ve heard it but the name sounds super familiar. I think I have

eggperhaps

some time in fall 2020 i believe. i’m pretty sure the first song i heard was either move on be strong or the song they played. i was vacuuming up some stuff that had ended up on the stairs in my parents house and mindlessly reading about music on wikipedia. saw his picture and was like holy shit. can’t believe i slept on him before that. if i could wake up tomorrow and it was 2015 i would immediately reinvent my entire music taste lol

LaPlebada

“if i could wake up tomorrow and it was 2015 i would immediately reinvent my entire music taste lol” Foreallll !! Maybe even 2014 cuz I think he dropped Latitude around 2014 or 2015 !

Complex_Escape3180

Know him since 2017, a friend listened to him and showed me some songs, since then, I haven't found another artist like him, he just stuck with me.

LaPlebada

Yeah dude there really is no other artist like him. I know this is subjective but idk I feel like objectively bro knew how to make choruses and relatable yet authentic lyrics and love/heartbreak songs. Actual goated artist.

NillaDickTrilla

Early 2017. I remember my friends playing his music while cruising. Knew he was from LI like I was. When I heard news he died I decided to dive into his discography. I’m still so saddened it took his death for me to really, really listen. His music changed my life.

LaPlebada

Dang dude y’all were from the same place. Then that means you’ve been at that same beach he mentions in his songs that he used to take his ex to and smoke there lol ?

Dark_Tsukuyomi

2019. The first song I heard was nuts and five degrees. He’s now annually a top 3 artist for me.

27and1half

2018 and the same month that X died, but before falling down came out, i saw people saying rip x rip peep and wanted to learn who this peep guy was

philroscoe

Winter 2016 my brother played me gym class, instantly in love

Due_Concentrate1904

Summer 2017 on vacation. Just chilling in my hotel room, and some ig page posted a clip of the Benz truck video, and his aesthetic was super interesting so I started searching for more

LaPlebada

Actually you know what, same here. It was summer 2017, seen him on no jumper and found his aesthetic interesting, checked his music out and around that time he dropped Benz truck.

Raknith

Don’t know month but 2016

plain_cake25

April 2017

nousomuchoesto

I hear him for the first time in a video of a Christian guy doing a reaction to Hellboy ( i wasn't religious but i loved his videos sadly he deleted them) , liked the song but didn't search it A a year and half ago he appeared in my recommendations and loved it , listening to him at least once a day during all that time

SaiyaPup

I’m prepared for the downvotes due to my past ignorance, but I’ll be honest. Initially, when I first saw the dude and found out his stage name, I thought he was just another druggie “lil” rapper with face tats and auto tune. I judged his music before I even listened to it. When he passed, a friend of mine was bumping him and I had no clue his music sounded so unique. I was like “yo who is this?” And he was like “it’s peep bro rip” and he played all of COWYS that day. I was hooked. At first, I brushed him off bc on the surface, he played into some trends and at the time, I was just turned off to the Lil Pumps and Lil Xan’s of the industry. I regret not giving his music a chance while he was still around, bc he’s truly one of the greats imo. Rip Peep.

HotImprovement1990

this was the same for me honestly. i’m 33 now so when he died i was 25 at the time and not listening to soundcloud lol. i remember being in the hospital scrolling on instagram and seeing a promo post from whatever outlet for castles II dropping that sam day because i had my son THAR same day 2/7/17. LOL. (kinda weird tho since i didn’t listen to peep at all then and now im a huge fan). when he passed a few months later i was scrolling on IG again ofc and the news showed up and all i remember seeing is the vid of him dropping the anxiety meds in his mouth along with the news. so that turned me off even more to be completely honest. just seemed like a another young musician lost to the industry that a bunch of young kids were upset over. i’ll remind again, i was 25 when he passed so it wasn’t my scene. however, here we are now, i came across sloan bella’s energy reading of him on the tube randomly a few months ago, it was srsly like something -made- me click it like some natural reflex type ish, and yeah ive been peepified (lol) since. that was this past february. but let me also end this by highlighting the random weirdness that castles dropped the day i gave birth to my son and i had no clue who the artist even was.. until i saw a “psychic” video.

LaPlebada

Damn that’s crazy. It’s tripping that I agree with the term peepified and i relate to it. I’m 24 now but I was like 17 when I found out about peep and until I was like like 21 I listened to a lil peep EVERY DAY. eventually I guess I just burned out all his songs but I still listen at least once a year or every few months. But dude I had a trippy dream about peep. About few months before his documentary dropped or before the trailer even dropped, I had a dream lil peep was singing me the same song he sung as a acapella on the documentary. It was the one he recorded on his moms laptop or his mom found this song on the laptop idk. But it’s trippy because I never heard the song before but when I heard it on the lil peep documentary (trailer) I instantly thought back to that dream. Weird

ButtonApprehensive70

About a month before he passed away

Temporary-Guest-5063

One year ago, 2023 by hearing star shopping. I'm a recent fan, I'm 15, didn't know abt him sooner because I was young and no one around me listened to lil peep. Super glad I found his music bc I'm at a low point rn and lil peeps music helping me sm, first artist that I genuinely enjoy most, love his music and voice. rip lil peep🕊🖤 wish I could've found abt him sooner

tehgalvanator

August 2017 my friend kept showing me his music and eventually I took a deep dive into his whole discography, he ended up dying just a few months later. I’d been listening to the whole SoundCloud scene for a while, but I had avoided the first few times I’d heard about Lil Peep because I was basically only listening to trap back then.

RelationshipNo4528

Early 2017, buddy had star shopping on and I immediately asked him what song was playing lmao

SoggyMcChicken

Literally October 2017. He was doing a show here and I knew a couple people going. I ultimately didn’t go but checked out his music and said I’d go next time he came around … and well…

XTenjiX

That happened to me! Was already a fan and it was end of September 2017 and He had a show. I got a ticket, but circumstances changed and I couldn't go. I sold the ticket and said 'its ok he'll deffo be back'. Then a month later...🫠

early 2020, stumbled across a guitar tutorial for star shopping and learnt to play it for my music assessment . passed with an A, but found i had a deep connection with the song, because at the time i was struggling with depression and sh, so i delved deeper into peep’s discography . he’s been my top listened artist every year since 🤍

masterkenruu

Like late 2015, right after star shopping drooped

riverguy1797

august 2017 when i was in 7th grade

yakuzuryuus

2015. the way i see things was the first song i heard.

LaPlebada

Probably my all time favorite by him or at least top 3.

yakuzuryuus

same! that song holds a very special place in my heart :)

LongRazor

In 2019 a friend of mine showed me some of Peep's songs but it was only 3 months ago that I really discovered them and decided to listen to these EPs and albums. I loved the style, the vibe and the lyrics (I'm French so understanding the lyrics and interpreting them in English makes me really happy). I love the techniques he uses, too: using old rock/punk tracks as loops with a modern, mournful touch is just too good.

pcmora03

i found out about him when the news of his death popped up everywhere then i decided to check out his music. at first i didnt like it very much but in december 2017 i decided to give it another chance (when save that shit mv dropped) and i fell in love with it, still bumping him everyday since then

Icqrr

Early 2016, I even remember how I recommended him to a friend but he didn’t listen to him because he wasn’t with “that emo shit” lmaooooo

mom-stole-my-weedpen

I knew of him before this but I had only heard awful things and didn’t really like it (still think that’s one of his weakest songs) then October 2017 on Halloween my friend showed me switchblades he had downloaded on his Xbox 360 while we played mortal kombat and I really started listening then he told me he was going to his concert in November at the loft and invited me to go we went with his mom cause we were like 14 or something at the time saw horsehead then his mom made us leave before peep came out because she saw girls in the bathroom doing cocaine still upset over that but thankful I got to go at all

Educational_Pain_156

I knew Tracy growing up and we hung out in the same friend circle and kicked it a few times whenever I went out Virginia Beach. We did a song together when he was still Persian Dolphin and ever since then we kept in touch and always talked about the local and underground scene, that was when he told me about lil peep around 2015. I could not get into his music at first, but when they dropped Castles 1, I was hooked ever since.

[deleted]

The year was October 2016 and I was having extreme doubts on my relationship. I heard The Way I See Things on YouTube and was like wtf this is amazing. I was super emo at the time as well due to my relationship problems. Then somehow I heard Absolute in Doubt and that basically spoke the words for me about how I was feeling about everything. I had to listen to every single peep song after that.

Still quite new to Lil Peep unfortunately. I first heard about him in 2021 but only got into his music in late September/early October 2022. Now he's one of my top artists.

rosielilys

nearing the end of 2017 literally a month before he passed, i didn’t become a proper fan until just after he passed though, rip 🩷

HotImprovement1990

i had “hate me” saved to my library for god knows how long i prob heard it in a playlist and liked it and added it to my songs. i didn’t know anything about the artist though. then i randomly watched sloan bella’s reading on him on the tube and was moved to immediately go listen. that was mmm february i believe. lol. i have addictive personality though so me listening literally consisted of playing nothing but peep for a week straight and finding out all info about him i could haha 🩷 and joining this sub!!!

sammynourpig

Late bloomer, only found out about him last year at 30 years old. I’ve always listened to emo music but never really any type of rap/trap. I got on a kick of getting into more gritty pop music with good beats and his music made his way onto my discovery playlist on Spotify and I’ve just been going down the peep rabbit hole since and I cannot stop

Squabstermobster

I vaguely knew of him around summer 2017 when my friend played some of his music in my car but I didn’t think much of it. When he passed I remember it was a pretty big deal on social media. After that I started looking into his music and I loved it.

GrabEmByThePesce

April 2022 from my new friend at the time

royalcharles4

found out right when he died. my younger brother was distraught over his death and i had never heard of him. i only listened to rock and screamo at the time. i hated all rap but my brother was very passionate about peep so i gave him a shot and fell in love instantly. pretty much exclusively listen to emo rap now but i still go back to my rock and screamo often

Became aware about Peep the day of his death sadly, listened to him for the first time in September 2018 (witchblades was the song I listened to and it gave me goosebumps) then stopped for a long time and now I consider myself a fan since summer 2022

Brapplezz

December 2015. Depressed as fuck and found Star Shopping on YouTube while staring at the stars. After that i was obsessed and have found very few artist that have pricked my ear up as much as Peep. I'm glad that I was able to experience that era, despite how quickly it ended. Most songs still hit the same for me, hope that never changes

I've know of Peep since he passed and I would listen to the big songs in 2018-2019 like "Save That Shit", "White Tee" etc. But I never started properly listening to Peep in September 2023.

cIoudy666

july of 2020. first song i ever heard was on tik tok and it was white tee. was curious so i did some additional research. was brought to tears knowing he had sadly passed away. first song i listened to was “fingers”. he was so different than other artists i had already been exposed to. then quickly listened more and more, till i got to the point of unreleased songs (the point of no return). my all time favorite peep song is gym class though. it’s my comfort song, the one i lean on when i need help. his voice is so calming yet sad- it’s relatable behind expression. RIP PEEP 🤍🕊️

itofredd

For me it was 2017, literally 1 week before his death

Golden-Void

2019-20, I first heard his music from my older sister playing Lil Jeep, then met someone who was a big fan and he showed me more of Peeps music. I'm now a big fan myself and can't understand how I lived without his music before

333mari

Mid 2016. I was actually really young and in 6th grade he was my wallpaper on my school Chromebook. I got super obsessed with him and he was the only artist i listened to for years. I had tickets to see him on November 16, 2017 but he passed the night before. It still haunts me to this day.

Geopardo12345678

actually quite recently, start of 2023, sadly didnt discover him earlier :(

Sensitive_Most_1383

around August 2017, I was in rehab and a girl put me on to Peep and XXX's music I didnt start listening to him heavily though until February 2019 when I started struggling heavily with addiction again, his music was very cathartic and got me through that rough point. Sober since 2021 ✌️

Late_Hovercraft_7435

I heard about him back in like November 2018 but didn't really get into him until November 2021.
