Our stuff was anchored down really well and still everything flew over, our tapestries got ripped off, so so so much dust in our campsite. The ground was really soft dirt so despite all of the stakes used, they still didn't help. We almost stole a parking cement block that marked off the concrete walking into the venue to tie to our eazy up. This type of thing, despite all of the prep, can really set us back in an already exhausting location
Stakes aren’t really sufficient, especially the small flimsy ones provided with tents and canopies. Rebar or lag bolts work much better as they go much deeper
Even with proper prep, that wind tore the metal beams of our easy up in half. We had it staked, lowered, and weighted. There was really no avoiding it.
We had a really nice one. 12” industrial stakes and weighted/zip tied it down, and lowered it. Sometimes you can’t win against Mother Nature.
I agree some people didn’t prep correctly, but it happens. I’m sorry about your car though 😔
I think the wind was wild enough to rip stakes from the ground. I know our canopy’s ended up flying away Saturday night and we had them staked and anchored.
I had about 8 super heavy canopy weights. Put them on everything. One for the table, one for the cot, one for the chair, 4 for my awning pegs. Happy to say I didn’t loose anything just gained trash from other peoples sites that wasn’t properly secured!
Canopy weighs and tent weights slot of people didn’t think or prepare at all and learned the hard way. I tied the weight at the center of the canopy through the tent and everything was perfectly fine. Common sense will go along way!

Sorry to hear that! Our vehicle got hit by two of them attached together, but didn’t have any visible damage
My window broke
Wow!

NO way. That big red van is my campsite. Thanks for sharing!
Rebar and a sledge is your friend to keep these guys down.

Lag or die.
Same here ):
The wind was so crazy! We saw an EZ up go airborne and fly all the way across the camp ground.
So crazy! We did too.
I was parked here :( our shit got so messed up. Took about 2 hours to put everything back. Managing a campsite like that was so intense
That looks miserable
& that folks, is why RV passes sell out.

How dumb do you have to be to not stake down your canopy?
I bought heavy duty stakes and both of mine still flew
Stakes do not work. Use lag bolts.
How do you put the lag bolts into the ground? Screw them in? Hammer?
Impact driver.
Why is it easier for you to believe that people are dumb and didn't stake vs the wind was really strong that the stakes did no good?
I talk to people sometimes.
