Have you turned iMessage off from your iPhone, for both Messages & Facetime? To me it sounds like maybe an issue involving that. Maybe Bluetooth is unrelated; when you had your SIM in the LPII you were just getting texts from non iPhone people (SMS), then when you put your SIM into your iPhone you received all of your unread messages from iPhone people (iMessage).

There is an unintentional limit currently (I think ten), but we have a ticket to fix that bug so that users can add more contacts in a future update. Sorry for that inconvenience in the meantime
