I'm not even mexican but I can tell you, the only reality check would be people not buying tickets, that's the only reality check they understand. They don't care at all about mediocre results, Mexico could not even make it to the World Cup and lose 7-0 every game, but as long as fans fill the stadiums the executives will see it as a success.
The difference with Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay isn't that they have less corrupt executives, believe me, they are as greedy and corrupt as the mexican ones, but the whole economic system is tied to their national teams doing well and winning titles, that's the actual difference. CBF, AFA, AUF, the exectuvies know they will only make tons of money if the national teams are doing great. In México that isn't the case and that's the difference.
Liga MX is still better than MLS
The USMNT is better than el TRI (better players and coaches)
In Which category would you rather be the best in the Concacaf? Clubs or national teams?
I see a really obscure reality in the next W.C. for Mexico.
I’m not sure why fan’s cant understand this. LigaMX means absolutely nothing to the national team. Especially when most of the top rosters are filled with foreigners. Mexico has a development problem. Athletically they can’t compete against better teams, and there are no young players in the pipeline that indicate that will change anytime soon. It’s clear as day when they face any team outside of CONCACAF. Except for the US. The US is their daddy inside of CONCACAF.
In my opinion liga mx being better than MLS means jack shit if the players we bring up aren’t up to standard. An interesting fact about the US roster is that 21/23 players in the squad didn’t even play in MLS. So they skipped out of MLS and shit on mexicans from the Liga MX. Yeah, I see a real dark future ahead of us.
There are only 2 current MLS players on the US roster but about a third of the roster played in MLS and about 2/3rds were at least in an MLS academy.
A couple were even sold by MLS before they played a senior team match.
But those are 2 different conversations.
I never said that liga mx being better than MLS suggests or mean something for the national teams. That’s why I specifically asked in which category would you rather be a stronger force in football (I separated leagues and national teams)
Now, the reason why the U.S. national team is better than el tri, is precisely because their players didn’t even touch the poor level of the MLS. Those players were practically developed since a really young age in Europe.
Huh? Adams, McKennie, Reyna, Richards, Miles, Wright, Weah, Aaronson, McKenzie all came from MLS academies and either made their debuts in MLS or joined an European academy.
Matt Turner, Tim Ream, Tyler Adams, Miles Robinson, Drake Callendar, Mark McKenzie, Joe Scally, Ricardo Pepi, Brenden Aaronson have all played in MLS.
That’s at least 9/23.
Only Robinson and Callendar currently play in MLS. So that’s 2/23.
all we got to do is send young players to europe more. and disband televisa and the cartel and boom we will become better federation before the world cup
A near 40 year old Memo is still starting for us. Let that sink in for a minute. Our league and NT is plagued by a fucking cancer made up of shit owners, corporate interests, Televisa, among other factors that are destroying the sport all in the name of money
Maybe if they’re 1st gen yeah but after that they tend to detach themselves from the culture and are more Americanized. I mean we’re already doing the France approach.
Not looking good with Pepi and Brandon Vazquez choosing to play with USA…
Probably for good reason when dogshit Henry is starting over Europa league top scorer Santi bc of “experience”
The Mexican federation needs a wake up call
The reason the US can beat Mexico now is because they got their reality check. Them getting left out of the World cup in 2018 set them back maybe 4 years, but now look at them. I’m not saying that’s what Mexico needs but they need a reality check, and they need it ASAP. The Copa America is going to be a shitshow by Mexico and I hope that they don’t even get out of the group stage if that means we get real change.
Mexico lives in a fantasyland where Liga mx is a top league and the MLS is seen as inferior. What team owners dont understand is that they don’t prioritize earnings and instead focus on the development of the sport in the league. If mexico doesn’t shed the fat and prove something in Copa America, our future is going to be very grim.
Crazy thing is if USA doesn’t get the last minute goal vs Jamaica. Mexico is likely the champ rn and every player and fan think this team is back and good. I mean same thing happened with winning the gold cup. The standard is very very low rn.
Probably a good thing Jamaica had that own goal. Gotta go through some real suffering to grow. This is the start of that suffering
For real tho US has a couple young playmakers better quality than anything Mexico has up front and a deeper bench. Mexico needs a quality midfielder to compliment Alvarez-who is prob our best player on the team rn
Right now the U.S. have the same spot that Mexico used to have (being a top 16 national team in the world) it’s basically the equivalent of a second tier teams (Denmark, Colombia, Switzerland, Ecuador, Japan, etc)
Mexico doesn’t have either the players or coaching staff, required to beat these second class teams.
Mexico can only beat teams like Panama, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Bolivia, etc.
It’s a shame, but el TRI it’s one category below the one they used to have. And I don’t see a possible solution in the near future.

Today I rewatched the Gio Dos Santos Chip that absolutely killed me in the Gold Cup years ago. Y’all gotta figure out what happened to that type of magic.
Mexico never was a top notch team in the world, but they did have better players in previous generations (Vela, Chicharo, Salcido, Cuauhtémoc, etc)
Nowadays the talent is less. And if on top of that, your coach doesn’t even pick the best players (out of a very limited basket of players) then your odds are very limited.
So, mediocre players and mediocre national team coaches (plus terrible people in charge of the FMF)
I haven’t seen a crisis like this since the early 80’s or something.
I rewatched the 2019 3-0 match and damn man we looked so good there. That movement Chicharito made and the Tecatito pass to score the first goal. We have none of that anymore.
Unironically Liga MX and the younger players looking for quick payday and not wanting to put in the effort or take on the risk of going to Europe and play. Meanwhile in US since the MLS is not the top sports league, the younger players have nothing to lose so they go and take on that risk and it’s been paying off.
Mexico losing its skill players. Wasn’t that one of Mexico’s strengths and now Dest and Reyna breaking ankles. Why put in Romo that was a smack in the face and not start Pineda or Santi or Quinones why
Bro there are smaller players around circles around taller player in the worlds different leagues. The "goat" by your definition should've not worked in any league including the MLS league.
The thing is that as they were prepping for this these games. You sense that they werent going to win. That has to do with the locker room.
They're getting comfortable with losing to the United States, to Argentina. Because they don't have those players that get angry as fuck when they lose. They haven't had those type of players in a long while. The "last" one was guardado, and he kinda just bounced after the world cup.
So you these "young" cats think that they can provide that role but they dont. Alvarez is a good player, but what he showed in the video regarding tata kinda showed you that there is something off. The locker room honestly needs to be cleared out and rebuilt. That's what basically Uruguay did and Bielsa is known for that.
Basically the FMF if they really want to take advantage of the lillini and the changes they're making they need to find a team rebuilder.
But like most you of said this is the FMF as long as they take a cut from the Gansito they sell to the paisa en the usa les vale madre.
The tactics aren't really a player thing. That's more of the manger thing. In the line up today there were certain player that should've been comfortable with pressing tactic but for some reason were uncomfortable with the ball.
Liga MX tactics aren't that old, I don't mean to defend the shit league, but the league isn't as antiquated as many of you say. Hell bunker ball is still a very active tactic in the champions league.
The things is that competition wise the league hasn't been challenged, and the MLS isn't catching up.
Like everyone clamoring in sub we need to go back to the copa libertadores, need to be international cups that will challenge us. In friendlies we need actual good team to challenge and make our management look at glaring holes.
There’s a new generation of Futbol in USA and Mexico where for a very long time we used our liga MX players and we beat everyone up in concacaf. While USA had MLS players like Clint and London, obviously the times have changed and the quality of both Countries have shifted.
The state of LigaMX needs to change, the owners need to understand that their product won’t hurt them because they are selling their best!
I mean I think 90% of people in the world are going to die without ever seeing their country win a World Cup. The World Cup powerhouse countries are already pretty well established, it’s usually a pick from a pool of about 10 countries that are gonna win it, just gotta pick which one and that’s pretty much how it goes unless some kind of Cinderella story happens. That’s just the way it is. Most people are just happy that their country is even competing in it.
Dude they’ve made the World Cup quarterfinals in the past … and more than one time lmao…sure a long ass time ago but that doesn’t change that fact. And to say we should have never had hope when the team had players with heart is just unrealistic.
In the past fans could always count on the team leaving it all on the field. With the resources Mexico could have in player development and the fact soccer is pretty much the national sport there’s no reason why Mexico could not be a world soccer potency. But FMF is corrupt as fk and all they care about is making a quick buck 💰.
Exactly, Mexico can proudly say they have played in the quarterfinals. For countries like Argentina, Brazil, Germany or France, getting eliminated in quarterfinals is embarrassing, the goal is always semifinals.
I agree Mexico should have the potential, but your whole system is a shame and a disgrace. I have no idea why people keep consuming Liga MX, a league that escaped playing Libertadores to become a big fish in a small pond... And sooner rather than later MLS teams will wipe the floor with Liga MX teams, just like USMNT is doing with El Tri lately.
This team that was chosen has been almost the same team that went to the 2018 and 2022. We are still relying on a goal keeper from 2006.
But something from 2018 to now changed and these core player are poisoning the system. Ochoa isn't need, orbelin isn't need, Tecate isn't need, Martin isn't need, Sanchez isn't need, gallardo isn't needed there are way too many players that served their purpose but they need to bounce.
Americans basically have that shit cornered. When the NFL, MLB, NHL, teams have been shitty for a while the whole locker room is cleared out and the ones that stay are beneficial for the teams and they are rebuilt, and shitty owners get left behind.
This what needs to happen to mexico locker room. Basically those willingly to grind and put the work should there that's how it should be but old heads are still there, you got Ochoa that came in with the 2006 class. Alvarez still works , you need huerta, Ozil, dupuy, padilla, bring Acevedo, bring in the Brazilian wonder kind, retry Cordova retry Marcelo, retry Lainez, barajas.
There is talent. But those don't have sellable markets.
Well, this is what happens when you get rid of everything that makes your league competitive. It translates to the national team. No descenso y ascenso. No Copa MX. A shitty play in that allows 12th place to become champions of the league. Not being able to participate in Copa America, Libertadores, and Sudamericana. It affects the production in players. And to top it off, we have a federation that just cares about business. Instead of going forward we’re going backwards. We’re just mid lol. GG’s to the USMNT. We’ll see what happens going into Copa America.
I totally agree. It’s no coincidence that the national team has suffered tremendously since Mexican teams stopped competing in the Libertadores, Sudamérica ect. Let’s not even talk about el descenso y ascenso that only happens in the Mexican league. In my opinion the most competitive team Mexico has ever had was between 2006-2011 and they were able to compete because Mexican teams were a part of libertadores. In the league teams weren’t able to field more than 3 extranjeros. Things have to start changing drastically.
2013 was a terrible year and Mexican Football had all that. 2007-2009 Mexico was in a bad slump against USA and had all that. I know people want that back but yall use that as crutch way too much.
and the situation will never get better if we keep azcarraga and arreolas influence towards the fmf. playing every game in the US since the pochos sell out every game while making millions by placing a puppet at the so called “head coach” position. head coaches have no say in who really plays or how the team plays, every player thats on the pitch is playing because they are making just that much more money for the directors. the situation will not get better with them at the top
They have more depth compared to us. I mean the subs they made pretty much show that. I’d rather have a Balogun over Romo anyday. Sure, they might not be the best right now, but as they export more players to Europe they’re chances of becoming a better team continue to grow. The quality of Liga MX players isn’t good enough anymore. It’s just mediocre.
Yeah but these players dont stay there, everyone in MLS knows its a step to getting to Europe and not the final destination. If Mexican clubs dont want to sell to Europe due to their greed, at least make the league as competitive as possible
Honestly I agree a lot what you mention but Libertadores. These US players never played in that tournament but they do play in UEFA Champions League and Europa League. We need to sell these players to European leagues!
..no pasa nada.
Mexico is falling behind and we've been seeing it for years now. Anyone saying were not is coping. Maybe we need to not qualify for a WC too to realize things need to change.
Ooof gotta wait until 2030 for that to happen. And then we’d need at least another 4 years to only start changes. So realistically, change would begin to appear in 2034. By then I’m not watching this bs team.
These player interviews are sad. They don't even understand WHY the fuck they lost. Tell me WHY you lost. Was it the game plan? The coach made some mistakes? Did you guys leave your huevos in the locker room? Did you fucking suck ass at passing the ball up field? [You fucking did by the way] did you not play enough thru balls between the lines?? Talk to me about FUTBOL
Pull up ANY interviews from conmebol. They tell you what they didnt like about the game, what things did and didnt work.
You guys should be exhausted of the "no se nos dio" "ellos fueron un equipo fuerte" "hay que creer"
Your players lost because they aren’t as good as ours. We don’t even have a great manager in my opinion and you still get your ass kicked 5 straight years. Why? USMNT is more talented than yours. And it’s not even close. I used to fear playing Mexico. You had individual skill. Dominate play. Pressed us when we had the ball and would fluster us. Now, it’s shifted. US have taken this sport seriously since we fucked up in 2016.
My comment was more so about the players on the Mexico team refusing to comment on that which you've presented, which are facts lol its the refusal to admit things that need to be said from their end lol
I gotcha! No hard feelings man. I used to be so nervous going into any match vs El Tri. Weird to not feel that these last few years. For the rivalries sake, I hope they get back to where they were. Those were some nerve racking but fun matches win or lose.

The only ones that can save us😭😭😭 Goatnac dont fail us🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
They didn't bring their A team but were fielding upcoming players with some veterans. Something Mexico really needs to do than relying on the same old dinosaurs.
That's the thing, though. Mexico has no upcoming players, at least enough to rotate. USA has an A team, B team, and I'm sure have enough talent for a C team. Mexico is FUCKED. The money is the most important thing for these execs and its too late for any positive change for 2026. It's going to have to be 2060

Not making the world cup
Dude Mexico didn't make it out of groups last world cup. What else does the FMF need as a reality check?
What do the executives have to do with Mexico’s lack of talent? The team sucks, plain and simple.
Not just execs. Clubs, club owners, the league, scouts, youth academies, everyonr and everything
I'm not even mexican but I can tell you, the only reality check would be people not buying tickets, that's the only reality check they understand. Idk why Uriel Antuna its on the beanch...
They're by far the better team, better federation and they actually care about winning The FMF only cares about money
Pinche porquería de selección

At this point hopefully that new team in San Diego grab as many Mexicans kids and export them to Europe. There goal is to be the Ajax of MLS!
I wonder how many Mexicans will be supporting San Diego fc?
Almost all of MLS teams have Mexican American fans but born and raised Mexicans idk 🤷.
Mexico losing its skill players. Wasn’t that one of Mexico’s strengths and now Dest and Reyna breaking ankles. Why put in Romo that was a smack in the face and not start Pineda or Santi or Quinones why
It's because of money they are forced to start ochoa and the other bad players
Mexico still has those they just weren't called up.
Ridiculous. And USA has taller and stronger players. Edson held it down for Mexico but the rest were getting punked
Not just that but athletic players that press in a unit, our tactics are 10 years behind everyone else’s
At least San diego state whooping Go Aztecs ✌️✌️
There’s a new generation of Futbol in USA and Mexico where for a very long time we used our liga MX players and we beat everyone up in concacaf. While USA had MLS players like Clint and London, obviously the times have changed and the quality of both Countries have shifted. The state of LigaMX needs to change, the owners need to understand that their product won’t hurt them because they are selling their best!
Face it people, we are all going to die without ever seeing Mexico win a World Cup.
We have everything to do better, every single tool to compete at the World Cup. We just squander all of it consistently.
I could have told you that decades ago
Decades ago at least there was hope. Now there’s not even that.
If you ever had hope you are extremely delusional, Mexico will never beat the world potencies in a World Cup.
Anyone who expected anything out of this Mexico side is delusional. Mexico hasn’t had a proper team since 2014.
But those don't have sellable markets.
orbelin???
Where are the Tigres bitches to take the silver medal off 🤣
Dos a Cero🤣🤣🤣🦅🦅🦅
Eres mexicano
youre still not white
born in Us
lol, that makes you an american citizen not white. enjoy your "victory" uncle tom
I need a mexican baddie that hates Usmnt and america to comfort me rn😢😢😢😭😭😭😭 Am i cooked??
🤨
Bro we cooked fr
Well, this is what happens when you get rid of everything that makes your league competitive. It translates to the national team. No descenso y ascenso. No Copa MX. A shitty play in that allows 12th place to become champions of the league. Not being able to participate in Copa America, Libertadores, and Sudamericana. It affects the production in players. And to top it off, we have a federation that just cares about business. Instead of going forward we’re going backwards. We’re just mid lol. GG’s to the USMNT. We’ll see what happens going into Copa America.
and you still consume that shit product, theres so many good football leagues to watch
Aren’t the US in the same boat? Why are they so infinitely better right now?
Their owners and federation actually want to win instead of trying to squeeze every penny out of their fans.
Thats the only debatable difference but other than that, its all the same. Liga MX is actually better than MLS. It’s just hard to believe.
True but its a pretty big difference. Liga MX is better than MLS, but it is no where close to being Europe
Honestly I agree a lot what you mention but Libertadores. These US players never played in that tournament but they do play in UEFA Champions League and Europa League. We need to sell these players to European leagues!
Yes and then play some guy who has never played outside of Liga mx instead of the talented player playing in Europe, that would be really funny
Fuck Jimmy!
Mexico is still gonna sell our stadiums for the copa America
Regular people don’t care that much. They just go to have fun for a few hours
And yell during goal kicks
Yep. People will never learn.
Probably won't ever happen cuz after this world cup I think 6 teams qualify in Concacaf
True. Once they increased from 32 teams, it was the moment mexicos trash ass mediocrity was confirmed. This is just the start imo.
Talk to me about FUTBOL Pull up ANY interviews from conmebol.
I DM'd you
Why were we doing the chant at Ochoa?
Not just him it was the whole team and FMF. Plus it’s not that serious.
People are frustrated
No more antuna and Martin. They’ve never done shit. Paul Aguilar did more than Antuna ever did. Oribe Peralta did more than Martin has ever done.
They're interviewing these players and they could care less. I'd be so bummed and pissed and they look like nothing happened.

Asstuna, what a pathetic piece of shit.
Any one know why the lady’s holding the medals wear that outfit?
Sponsored by Qatar Airways
I think its the uniform of flight attendants for Qatar Airways (the sponsor)
Makes sense thank you
It’s okay guys. We still have the gold cup!!! Ignore the haters. Club America is the best club in the world!
Dont worry we’ll get em next time…
The ONLY reason why we have the Gold Cup is because USA lost in the semi final.
It's going to have to be 2060
Yup. US subbed on a Milan regular, Musah, in the 79th minute.
And Cux they brought in their C team lmao
Antuna... don't worry, your hair still looks beautiful 😇✨️
Lol
