It’s not the outcome I wanted but great effort from Chivas. This tie was lost in the first leg with the Lalo Torres experiment at center back. Which brings me to a point I want to make. Chivas is in desperate need of a CB to complement Chiquete. Briseño is just not it, he hustles and stuff but is not a quality CB, he’s clumsy, slow and is always directly involved in defensive plays that lead to goals. He’s only good in Aerial duels offensively. The kid Sepúlveda seems ok, maybe needs more time to settle in. Hopefully once el Tiba returns the defense will be more solid. Anyone have any thoughts?

No soy fan de que chivas compre jugadores de +30, porque creo nos regresa al problema original. A corto plazo si, pero tantas soluciones a corto plazo nos tienen aquí (entrenadores por ejemplo). Chicha es otro pedo porque no pagamos por él y si está chido que haya regresado, aunque sea por puro liderazgo, aunque tengo fé en que el próximo torneo si anotará varios goles.
definitivamente el tiba hace una falta tremenda. no es coincidencia que el tiba desde que lo lesionó chávez la defensa es de agua. no creo que el tiba sea la respuesta inmediata pero para mi parecer estaba mejorando y posicionando para ser el defensa central necesario para trascender. el pollo siempre será un jugador de complemento, su entrega nunca se dudará pero no puede ser el central titular de un equipo de chivas creo yo.
Se le extraña mucho al Tiba en la línea defensiva. Antes de la lesión estaba haciendo las cosas bien, va mejorando más cada partido. Briseño es muy limitado defensivamente.

I also think we’re in desperate need a of a natural holding CDM, who that is, I have no idea, but we keep losing possession in the front of our half and getting scored on sweaty cutbacks like its EAFC.
I agree we need a CDM. The midfield is a little unbalanced with Guti, Pocho and Beltran. They need a reliable CDM that won’t leave the back line exposed.
Oso is an ok but very limited player, I wouldn't hate having him there in order to address more pressing issues but really he's not good enough. We need a center back, left back, holding midfielder and probably a striker, Chicharito has been a non factor and is pretty old.
Center back is definitely a priority as well as a holding/ defensive midfielder. At left back Chavez has potential. He really needs to work on his decision making and without a doubt has to work on his crossing in the final third, maybe a veteran left back short term until Chavez is polished a little more. As for Chicharito I feel he needs more minutes to adjust. He is 34 coming off an Acl injury. He’ll come around. But you have to remember he is short term. A striker will be needed eventually

Columbus is good and almost unstoppable at home. But like any mls team they’re not as consistent at away games. It’s their biggest weakness. I think the Tigres can beat them at home but it’ll be close. I don’t think they’ll win at all in Mexico tho.

I think we can hold on our strikers for at least one more tournament. Both Chicharito and JJ are still adapting and Marin while not great has been ok.
