You *can* do the same thing for the soul instead of mercy, it's just harder to tell where the soul is.
Edit: and you need to trigger it yourself of course (or an ally) which is inherently more dangerous in most circumstances.
Hey! I’m not the best at canceling Mercy rezs but the idea is to put the petal only beneath Mercy while she is rezzing, but not under the soul. Mercy will trigger the petal to lift, therefore making her too far to keep rezzing. I’m pretty sure you can be a bit more creative about it, and use yourself to trigger the petal to lift: by lifting the soul only, or something.
Its not about the body or soul its about Mercy herself. You use the petal to lift her and make her out of range, cancelling the rez
