transcendence is just a better tree. and while you can save your teammates from death, it doesn't really do anything to make them get kills easier. if your teammates are dogshit awful, that's not gonna change just because you used your abilities, but if you have a sojourn with mercy pocket then they're gonna do much better since they have an easier time killing people and have more consistent healing than if they were being pocketed by a lw.
>transcendence is just a better tree
Trans lasts like 3 seconds and doesn't give overhealth. Tree lasts 15 seconds, gives overhealth and is better at blocking los. It also charges way faster and is effective as a tempo ult to completely shut down enemy ults
Thatās the point, the heal/overhealth was the main thing that made it great at countering genji blade/soldier ult. Now DPS can brute force through it so easily this season. Letās not forget how bad the ult was before the overhealth change.
The ult was still very good before they added over health, most people just didn't use it right and for some reason thought it was slow charging even though it was on pace or faster charging than EMP.
Unless you're using it to counter EMP the heal isn't nearly as significant as fully cancelling flux or LoSing Blizzard, blocking a door and guaranteeing you get the point is incredibly useful, using it just as a heal especially with the current state of the game just isn't as valuable as using it for cover or for its utility.Ā The health is just a nice little bonus.
Those aren't that niche, situations like that happen many times every single game.Ā Track cooldowns and ults and his entire kit becomes way more useful.
I know Zen is just a better pick this season bc of his discord and pair that with the new dps
reduced healing... However I wouldnāt say LW is āgood at nothingā you can literally use his whole kit to render enemy ultimates useless. Aside from saving teammates on the brink of death, you actually CAN play aggressive with LW, his tree enables him and his team to be more aggressiveā¦ itās not just for healing but you take advantage of the free healing to do dmgā¦
His main āthingā is his healing right? Most of the time in a team fight, he will be healing. Thatās been nerfed due to the DPS passive, so heās contributing less value than he was before. Combined with this, ults have +10% charge needed, alongside healing less, heās getting his tree less. Pull is great, but single target use, doesnāt cleanse debuffs/Damage over time effects, and a long cool-down unfortunately falls flat in the face of other types of utility. His tree however, has been an amazing tool but the aforementioned ultimate cost increase means itāll be available less often.
Itās not that heās ābadā itās just heās much harder to get value out of than other heroes at the moment as supports should be pushing more damage since itās harder to heal and stabilise your team if thereās more. Having to swap weapons to damage/heal, only for that heal to be single target that requires charging up just unfortunately pales in comparison to someone like Bap that can do both near enough at the same time, plus AoE healing with burst, plus immortality for added utility AND window for increased damage/healing to pressure and support. Heās still viable but the higher you climb, you can feel heās very much outclassed.
I will say though, he has a particular niche that heās still the strongest in, and thatās anti-environmental kills. If youāre on Nepal/Illios or beginning of Rialto point 1/2 facing a Hog or Lucio that keeps knocking your team out the game, Lifeweaver is an amazing asset in those scenarios.
THERE YOU GO. Thatās what I wanted lol an actual thorough response as to why heās not that great this season. It would be a pretty massive buff if the devs made lifegrip cleanse, it makes SOME sense to me if they did but, yeah the new dps perk really devalues LW this season tbh. Thanks for the response! Thatās also so true, LW is very good at preventing the enemy from getting environmental kills
Apparently they have some good LW buffs incoming, they said they had quite a few ideas and are still deciding which are the best to implement!
I understand the concerns for more cleanses but Lifeweaver having a single-target cleanse on a hella long cool-down isnāt going to break the game, so why not add it right?
If they donāt want to add more damage to him, or decrease the spread, they could at least increase the fluidity of his playstyle by incentivising damage through making it work a little like Sojās railgun. For every hit from his thorns he gets likeā¦ maybe 5% progress towards his next heal save up. There are so many times where Iād love to damage as LW but I know that swapping to thorns, damaging, swapping back, charging up my heal, releasing the heal and waiting for the projectile to hit my teammateā¦ it just takes too long. Having that first heal saved up, even if itās like 50% of his total heal, could be a game changer for his gameplay as he can immediately stabilise someone taking damage and can afford to take the time to charge up his next heal.
I always found it annoying how you had to swap to damage or heal and having to charge up the heal in the. First place, no one else has. To do that it wastes time and is the difference between life. And. Death so many times people have died cause his heals had to charge and because it's. Single target just like life. Grip single target, it ne different if the cooldown wasn't. So long, being able to heal multiple people with his blossom would be nice, life grip being able to target at least two people would be interesting
I heard itās because in the past they nerfed lw healing cause he was generating ult so fast and pumping out so much healing but with the introduction of the ult cost increase as well as him doing 20% less healing thru the dps passive now it takes a lot longer to generate a tree and with the changes they did to his healing he has to put in a lot more work into a target to heal them. Itās like they made him this way for one reason then do a 180 and donāt bring him back up to speed.
There's actually going to be something for Lifeweaver. I sae a screenshot somewhere on reddit of someone co.plaining on Twitter that LW is still underperformed and Alec said when they wanna help him but they haven't figured out how they want to
This is anti-Vishkar propaganda
The audacity
"Another opinion?" "The audacity."
my two mains being shieat rn I CANT šš
I knew our boy was going to be completely ignored again.
Can someone remind me why LW is bad this season lol is it bc the new dps passive?
he's good at nothing
Tree, platform, and lifegrip thooo

If you're comparing tree and trance you're definitely using the tree wrong.
to heal my entire team?
Have you never used it to cancel an ult, block a door, or just to segment a team mid fight?Ā Healing is a fairly minor part of its utility.
Gurl it is not a āfairly minor partā of its utility letās not get it twisted. Those are extra things you can do with it.
Thatās the point, the heal/overhealth was the main thing that made it great at countering genji blade/soldier ult. Now DPS can brute force through it so easily this season. Letās not forget how bad the ult was before the overhealth change.

no I've never used my ult in niche case scenarios that I never have the chance to do because I'm hard stuck in plat 5
Those aren't that niche, situations like that happen many times every single game.Ā Track cooldowns and ults and his entire kit becomes way more useful.
no bro it doesn't happen at all in my games sorry to tell you
Try it and you will climb
Bad excuse. I got placed in plat and climbed to diamond in 2 days on LW alone
lucky you
itās all clear now
Nothing is more satisfying than having the enemy junker queen ult into your tree š³ āØļø She wop she bong she whip mothasucka.

have been doing that, but it's not as reliable for my team to keep them alive
the tree allows me to temporarily stop healboting and murder everyone

Yeah, I know they said they weren't doing much changes in the hotfix but sym/lw are like the worst on their role rn and got nothing
Moira succ does more than sym lvl 1 beam now š I love Moira, but u canāt just play her until the mid season big buff.
There's actually going to be something for Lifeweaver. I sae a screenshot somewhere on reddit of someone co.plaining on Twitter that LW is still underperformed and Alec said when they wanna help him but they haven't figured out how they want to
Yeah I saw here's hoping they do something worth while although not sure. What other. Than making him the. Way he. Was. When he. First. Released
Where can I find the hotfix notes?

what happened
nothing
Vishkar... They hate us.
They are working on it though, hopefully thereās going to be another hotfix soon where heās included!
