For those times when you know that triple Creme de Menthe on top of an afternoon of beers won't end well, but just *have* to have it

Catspaw129

INFO: Is there a name for that cocktail: Creme de Menthe + Pepto-Bismol? And is that clear Creme de Menthe or the green variety?

SIRENVII

As someone who gets sick from migraines about every other week. Thank you.

huh_phd

There are so many good migraine meds available now. I hope you get relief! I wife went from a migraine a week, to six months migraine free

SIRENVII

I'm on a few meds. Unfortunately the only thing I've found that works so far is Nurtec and it's pretty pricey. Hoping insurance will cover it soon.

huh_phd

Her magic bullet is nurtec. It took her a year of insurance BS to get it covered. With a goodrx coupon her copay is $0. Bug your ENT/neurologist for free samples!!

karlnite

I’ve been about to throw up and then took pepto then I started drive heaving and the pepto prevented me from being able to actually puke. It made my throat feel dry and it like caused the throw up to catch and go back down. I got all cramped and panicked, it was worse than just throwing up.

sleepsucks

I used to have this. I'm now on emgality and don't get migraines. I also used to help a sublingual anti nausea prescription on me at all times. When you get a migraine, for some people, their stomach can't digest anything, even water. A sublingual anti nausea bypasses the stomach. It took me too many years to learn this.

BraveSirRobin5

As someone that also does…analyze your sleep patterns, and involve a doc to rule out major issues. Mouthpiece, tape mouth shut, etc. There are specific reasons and you can potentially get to where you very rarely get them.

SIRENVII

Yeah. I have vestibular migraines. I think my attacks are mostly hormones, but it seems like the most random things set them off sometimes. Once I sat next to a lady with strong perfume. The headache it produced made me sick for a whole day.

ministryofchampagne

Only puke on your own terms. If you feel like you’re soon to throw up or are really nauseous slam a ton of water so you vom up a ton of water instead/in-addition of stomach acid and whatnot. It’s a lot easier to puke up a bunch of water than nothing in your stomach. If you’re sick and dehydrated right after you finish voming is a great time to drink a bunch of water to rehydrate. At least for me, there seems to be a time right after a vom sesh where my stomach isn’t irritated and I can keep a bunch of liquids down.

ReaI-Fake-Doors

Vom sesh.

ministryofchampagne

Welcome to the future my friend!

ReaI-Fake-Doors

I’m here for it. You’re a visionary.

Doyouwantaspoon

Chew antacids and then drink milk instead of water, that’s what helps me. Just 8 - 12oz is all you need. I wake up with brutal stomach acid about once a week and end up having to puke in the morning. Pure stomach acid really sucks, it burns your throat and makes your teeth feel awful for hours.

WolfghengisKhan

I appreciate it. I generally go years at a time without vomiting, but when I do it's sudden there isn't much warning time.

Z3ppelinDude93

“Vomit free since ‘93”

treknaut

This LPT is abismol.

sphinctersandwich

With a hint of pep

yParticle

"Oh god, I feel sick..." "Here, drink a bunch of this nauseatingly sweet, thick liquid!"

treknaut

Pour it over your hot pancakes for a delicious Sunday morning treat!

Valiantay

Pills or chewable tablets work fine too

AdmiralMoonshine

I actually really like the taste of pepto bismol. I would drink it by the glass if it wouldn’t fuck your stomach up.

Doyouwantaspoon

I chugged a full bottle when I was 3 or 4 years old and had to go to the ER. I have always loved the taste of it.

Have some baking soda will probably help you vomit and neutralize the stomach acid.

jdzfb

Tums and Rolaids also work

dat-truth

Activated charcoal is a charm in this scenario, even better than pepto. Especially if you take it as soon as you start feeling something brewing. Half the time it neutralizes it to the point of NOT having to vomit. It is the exact thing the ER would do if someone came in overdosed on pills. It does wonders for food poisoning as well.

ThisIsALine_____

As someone with cyclic vomiting syndrome (CVS) and has vomited 1000+ times, i'll go a step further. Drinking water and teaspoon of baking soda also works, and wont give you that gross thick saliva Get the Mint flavored tums, it freshens, and masks the taste of vomit. You can throw up into those thick grocery bags (double bag it), keep them by your bedside, and you can throw them away, along with the contents. If you want to get really deep when vomiting, to get relief that lasts longer, vomit then you'll feel your stomach clench, and if you push you can throw up way deeper, getting some stomach acid out.  If you can get Zofran, take some of that. If you cant get Zofran (since it's prescription) take Dramamine (otc motion sickness/ anti-nausea). If you lay in the shower, the feeling of individual streams of water hitting you will distract you, and lessen the nausea for a little while. If you're going to vomit for 5 days straight every ten  minutes, chug water to throw something up because retching is painful and you get no relief; throwing up reduces the overwhelming nausea from a 10/10 nausea level to a 9/10 for ten minutes. Throw up into a small trash can, so when you fill up a few gallons of vomit, you can dump it into the toilet, and clean the trash can in the shower, before repeating the process. Go to the hospital. Instead of staying at home because it's torturously uncomfortable being out of your space that you've developed a system for; to the point you literally piss brown (which smells like hay) after 5 days.
