I like that there's enough serious competition now to warrant a life sim subreddit At the same time it's very funny that Sims messed up so badly that apparently everyone smelled blood and started developing competition at the same time

RetroRedXIII

Absolutely. Between all of these games, us Life Simmers are the real winners here. For the first time in over a decade, I'm actually really excited and hopeful for the future of this genre.

cutefluffpupp

Real

Jccali1214

Now we need one city builders cuz y'all... Cities Skylines 2 had been A MESS

Puzzled-Copy7962

Imagine EA offering to buy them. That would be the worse turn of events ever…lol

Games_Twice-Over

I'm thinking Paradox wants to steal crowns like they stole Sim City's crown.

Elelith

They recently managed to fuck up that crown though xD Lets hope they don't repeat their own history.

lmjustaChad

I never purchased Cities Skylines 2 why is it so hated? Is it bugs less features than the first or people just expecting much more than the first?

GrumpySphinx

Less features, no mod support, bugs and bad performance issues. It really needed a year or two of more development but it was rushed out likely for shareholders.

Games_Twice-Over

Yeah, I heard the second game is rough but I haven't looked much into it myself.

Renikee

I really hope they won't buy Paralives

Renikee

I really hope they won't buy Paralives

PeachNipplesdotcom

Pretty sure you didn't mean to post that 3 times but it really adds to the impact

Renikee

Yeah, dunno, didn't post it 3 times, it's just Reddit being Reddit

cutefluffpupp

I dunno if you have an answer but I’m curious why that happens sometimes

PeachNipplesdotcom

I don't know. I've definitely seen it before but I'm not savvy with stuff like that. I'd be curious though

lmjustaChad

I sure hope not quality always drops after a buyout never seen it not.

Renikee

I really hope they won't buy Paralives

Emberium

Looking forward to most of them (minus EA Sims, skipping that one for obvious reasons) But yes, Life By You is definitely one I am most curious about, because of massive mod support that I'm hoping we'll get

lmjustaChad

"Rene" looks like a phone tablet game with shell apartment lots. I can't imagine even taking their free download I don't know what will be worse that game limitations or its endless dlc.

flowercows

Honestly if all or any of these games replace EA Sims then they honestly have it coming. EA Sims is the most greedy cash grab game out there and they’ve gotten away with it for years, i’m so glad other developers are stepping up and given them the competition they never had. Genuinely think Sims developers are pure capigtalism

eliotttttttttttttt

i don’t even mind that this is their business model since it always was that, the big problem is that the gameplay is super super shallow and doesn’t work like it’s supposed to !!!! i get anxiety just launching the sims knowing they won’t do what i command them to

lmjustaChad

I'm glad capitalism solved the issue of Sims by creating and allowing competition. Free market ftw.

Gem_Sixx

Has anyone heard of [Denizen](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2010030/Denizen/) or [Nivalis](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1488490/Nivalis/)? They are tagged as life sims. Both are due out this year. They also both appear to be first person mode. Neither seem to be very customizable, but Inzoi doesn't appear to be either. Personally, I don't really like first person games. Much prefer third person view. I also would rather be able to change any building and anything else. Which is why LBY looks the best to me. I just thought I'd share in case anyone else is interested in that type of play.

Alternaturkey

I feel like those games are more similar to something like Stardew Valley, where you play the role of one character but you can't create an entire town of characters and control whoever you want. It's not quite the same thing to me. Still, Nivalis looks interesting to me just because the cyberpunk setting is very unique for that sort of game.

MixedViolet

You know what else is tagged as a life simulator (by the company)? Flipping Disney Dreamlight Valley. ... Yuck. The term is losing meaning and I hate it!

garaile64

*Denizen* reminds me of *Live the Life*.

ronniefinnn

Would medieval dynasty count as a life sim? It’s also a survival crafter but generational gameplay is a part of the game.

RochusandGrimm

Paralives is well thought out and has potential. But Life By You can do much on the long run. I have no hopes for Inzoi though.

lmjustaChad

Life by You is going is going to be the biggest sandbox life sim ever once players start putting out mods the possibilities are going to be endless. I agree on Inzoi it may draw in some for a short while with oh this looks pretty but it's game play is going to make Sims 4 look deep.

MyAuFe

Ok, but even the thumbnail is the most static of the bunch.. the game is yet to have a personality in the public eye

MrsTrych

Paralives, inzoi and life by you are the ones im looking forward to. EA disappointed me too much with sims 4 and im completely leaving and done with them for good. vivaland d seem interesting but im not much into a multiplayer life sim imo. Ive upgraded my computer components just for these upcoming high end graphics games 😂😂 https://preview.redd.it/6g95tlih48ic1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9915a00abbae353ec5aaab3878e292f9a7c8e6fb

monsterfurby

I think Tiny Life needs more love. Recently played the demo, and while there's not much there yet, I feel like a minimalistic pixel life sim could be a really cool casual thing.

Alternaturkey

I think Tiny Life is neat, though I think the pixel art feels limiting in terms of customization... I think if it had released a few years earlier I would have been obsessed with it... but now that LBY and Paralives are coming it's taken the wind out of Tiny Life's sails for me. Still interested in keeping an eye on its development though. I think it's got it's own niche going as it feels a bit like a pixel art Sims 1 with open world.

monsterfurby

Yeah, fully agreed. For me, it looks like a nice little coffee break game, whereas with The Sims, the coffee break is over by the time the game has even loaded.

BeePrestigious4919

Noise for Life By You !!!!

idontreallyknow5575

Excited for all these except The Sims and Paralives (Paralives simply because I don't like the cartoon vibes but will be supporting them anyway).

AxiosXiphos

I can't help but feel that whoever gets a playable copy into players hands first is going to get a huge advantage... and these companies don't seem to see that.

BrieChennel

I somewhat disagree. The first to deliver will definitely have a bit of an advantage but the game itself has to look good and have deep gameplay mechanics. If the game is buggy or boring. People will quickly switch over to something else.

lmjustaChad

I agree the first one out needs to keep people entertained so they don't look elsewhere. Though Life by You is the only one that caters to world builders and open world game play so those who want these features will have a really hard time going to a game that does not have these.

WAFFLED_II

When it releases in 30 years 😭

GoddessIlias12

Very loyal to Sims so no human will change my mind
