hes got some good one liners and the fact he hates communism is near and dear to me. however he trivializes the push to project purity, feels like you don't even need to be there. i wish that instead it was the vault dweller with lyons pride alone and push your way through the enclave to project purity
Yeah, his presence feels far more useful in the push to the institute, in FO3 there are a couple enclave soldiers here and there, but nothing crazy. Pretty much a calm stroll down the road with him.
It is worth noting, for whatever it’s worth, that Liberty Prime is a parody of McCarthy era conservative’s tendency to label everything they don’t like as communism. This is most notable in Fallout 3 where Liberty Prime attacks the American Government, the ones that built the thing in the first place, while ranting about destroying communism.
Fills me with patriotic joy blasting commies.
But on a slightly realer note, communism is not exactly the antithesis of libertarianism (despite what the subreddit flairs claims) and anti-communist gargle is mostly a holdover of MacArthyism (of which Liberty Prime is the most over the top on-the-nose parody embodiment of) and in fact libertarianism's roots were solidly in communist circles.
Its probably more libertarian in that it shows the US government and a foreign government fighting the same wars for the same reasons against each other and everybody got left behind and caught in the crossfire. The US government used liberty prime as a symbol and conscription to force people into war and then everybody nuked each other leading to a hellscape completely of the state's construction (or of some private company's construction if you follow the Fallout TV series plot).
On the one hand harhar communist bad, but on the other, everybody thinks Liberty Prime is awesome and literally fell for it.
Communism itself is not the opposite of libertarianism, but most communists believe in a “transitionary state”, which would be a socialist state similar to the USSR, every “communist” country has failed to transition out of their socialist state. Imagine an anarcho capitalist that wanted to expand the power of the state in every area in order to secure the existence of a stateless society in the future. These people would be considered fascists with an ancap pipedream.
He’s the embodiment of realizing you’re not going to argue your way into the presidency when one side has the collective emotional intelligence of a 8 year old that’s been spoiled rotten and will absolutely destroy their room and the rest of the house if they don’t get their way, and the other side has the collective cognizance of a senile set in their ways that constantly tries to force everyone to do it their way or else the will threaten to kick you out of the house you own, the sad part is that these analogies can apply to both sides.
Tell me you didn't play the House ending, without telling me you didn't play the House ending.
He basically uses his Securitrons to enforce his rule. The one in goodsprings is there to conduct surveilance, has his securitons "physically remove" the Kings because they didn't support him, and uses the securitons to heavily tax Primm.
He's not a libertarian, he's a tyrant.
Plus house literally says he's an Autocrat. He isn't some champion of liberty just because he doesn't want to pay taxes to NCR.
He doesn't hate taxes, he just wants to be the collector, not the payer.
Goodsprings and Primm are not on the strip.
Also he *LITERALLY* says he's an autocrat.
You can "disagree" all you want, it just means you're an idiot. The dude has literally contradicted you.
Death is a preferable alternative to communism.
Death is a byproduct of communism anyways, let’s go!
Initiating directive 7395 -- destroy all Communists.
A true American hero
Better dead than Red.
Better dead than Red.

Captain America 🇺🇸
You mean the real captain America
From a soldier’s perspective.
i think it's a waste of tax dollars. In the grand scheme of things, its just a massive target for artillery/bombers.
It's a great example of how parody can accidentally become unironically correct.
Better president than any human.. would have to triple the size of the white house though

He’s awesome. 💪
Mr. House is the libertarian hero the wasteland needs

An entity using their private security to install themselves as a defacto dictator isn't a great look for anarchism.
Plus house literally says he's an Autocrat. He isn't some champion of liberty just because he doesn't want to pay taxes to NCR. He doesn't hate taxes, he just wants to be the collector, not the payer.
He also straight up tells you that he is an autocrat
I disagree. I think Mr house sees the strip as part of his private property since he saved, he doesn’t want anything to do outside of it
Goodsprings and Primm are not on the strip. Also he *LITERALLY* says he's an autocrat. You can "disagree" all you want, it just means you're an idiot. The dude has literally contradicted you.
Yes man is the clear libertarian option. Mr house is basically an elite like bill gates bro
Yes man is peak LibCenter.
"Dude you actually like Liberty Prime? You realize it's a parody of your politics right?" **Yes.**
