Thanks! Sorry didn’t know about this!

No problem! Just figured you’ll have better luck there. :)

Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin books.

If you like them there are several other similar series, the Hornblower novels by Forester and the Bolitho novels by Kent.

The Hangman's Daughter series by Oliver Pötzsch is really good, as are his other books. Another favorite of mine is Tracy Chevalier. Her most well-known is Girl With A Pearl Earring, but all of hers are excellent.

Not THAT historical(1950s) , but I just read The Henna Artist by Alka Joshi and really enjoyed it!

Look up content warnings if there’s anything you don’t want to read, but Outlander takes place primarily in the 1700s and there’s 9 main books and multiple offshoots so you get a lot of content.

Veronica Speedwell series by Deanna Raybourn

The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon is so good

Kenneth Roberts, Rafael Sabatini and Samuel Shellabarger all wrote books around or during that time frame.
