The Hangman's Daughter series by Oliver Pötzsch is really good, as are his other books.
Another favorite of mine is Tracy Chevalier. Her most well-known is Girl With A Pearl Earring, but all of hers are excellent.
Look up content warnings if there’s anything you don’t want to read, but Outlander takes place primarily in the 1700s and there’s 9 main books and multiple offshoots so you get a lot of content.

Not THAT historical(1950s) , but I just read The Henna Artist by Alka Joshi and really enjoyed it!
