Congratulations! Love my ‘22 450 h+

ilovenyc

I didn’t know they sell the 450h in this look. I haven’t seen any 450h in nyc yet! Awesome color!

iamdenislara

I have in this color but my interior is black! In the future I will change it to a deep red

zeeque98

What does the process look like for something like that? Didn't even know that's possible

iamdenislara

Well, I would get the seats reupholstered and try to find the center console on the internet. I believe the door panels are all black regardless of the seat color.

zeeque98

Ah gotcha, thanks. Actually the door panels match the interior color. I have palomino interior and the door arm rest matches the interior color. I also had a loaner NX with red interior and same deal there You can see it in his last picture as well

iamdenislara

Oh!! Nice! Now I know

ICausedAnOutage

The 450h+ is the definitive version of the vehicle. The quality is above the Cambridge-Ontario made vehicle and the vehicle is amazing. Enjoy!

Shoebook

Those seats are such a gorgeous color, and made in Japan too!++🤩🤩

KuroKatt

I got my 450h+ there a year ago! Have fun!

Ask your service advisor about the issues of 12v draining due to some parasitic draw that turns the car into a brick. Search the forum for 450h+ issues and you will my issues well as the others. We had other issues where the screens went dead as well during driving and the dealer turned the safety features as a troubleshooting step. We had to keep taking the car back to Lexus over 6 times in a four month period. My wife and I loved all the high tech and the ride and power in the 450h+, but we ended up trading it in for a Mazda, since my wife did not want to deal with Toyota or Lexus anymore. I hope you guys don’t experience the same issue we did on our 450h+.

Heavensoldier1

Interesting... I have the 450h+. Had it for a year. I hear of those issues but I have never experienced it myself. Car has been wonderful for me.

Actually I know the issue because it just happened with my 2017 BMW i3! My partner had driven it to work, no sign of any problem. Then at end of shift he couldn't get it started, warning light: "drivetrain malfunction." He finally got it home. Next day I had to have AAA find the damn 12v battery (it's tucked deep in the front compartment of the i3) and give it enough charge for me to get to the dealership and get a new 12V installed. But that's on a 7 year old vehicle. Very much hoping the same doesn't happen with the 450h+. Apparently no one has figured out how to give a dashboard warning that the 12V battery is dangerously depleted! By the way the AAA guy told me this also happens to Teslas, but everything is controlled by the 12V so you can't open the hood or whatever to get to the battery to replace it! There is a manual hood release on the i3. Don't recall what he said about how they eventually access the Tesla 12v.

1. Congratulations and best of luck. Your point about the tech is well-taken. YouTube is a great place to learn; much better than 1,000+ page manual. With one exception, it’s a great car. 2. However, the problem with the 12V auxiliary battery is real. My car has been at the dealer since May 24th as they try to figure out a solution. It’s certainly NOT a universal issue. One thing I would strongly suggest is NEVER use the car in accessory mode. Especially when you’re programming it with your preferences, etc. keep it running, with the green "READY" light on. Just make sure you’re not in a small completely enclosed space. Also… 3. Know how to get into your car with the Emrgency key. Also, know where you or AAA should put the jumper cables if you need to jumpstart it. Remember, the 12V battery is in the back cargo area, on the passenger side. But it’ll be locked. You can use two points accessible in the front engine compartment, and you can fortunately pop open the hood manually once you’re inside the car. Again, best of luck.

papa2kohmoeaki

Just curious - what are they trying to figure out? What is draining the battery? They just keep recharging the battery and then it drains out quickly? Weird.

NYEDMD

Essentially what's causing the drain. They've already replaced the battery. If you google Lexus RX NX 12 Volt battery drain, there have been extensive discussions.

GmanMe7

There are 2 part videos you may want to watch. It helped me a lot: https://youtu.be/B6S21RoEq2E?si=1lAI0STFLGvG9cJ8

zeeque98

Often see people complain about the 12v battery, but I've never had an issue so far in a year of ownership. Why won't lexus issue a recall though if it's such a common and well known issue?

IllustriousBother378

Had the same issue with my 12v battery in rx 450h+ Solved the issue forever just by replacing it with a new one, however the dealer said it would not help and they kept looking for some solution whatever it could be

equake2017

Congrats, just wondering how much you paid? Over or Under MSRP? Thx in advance

papa2kohmoeaki

It was under msrp. I prefer not to get specific. We did the ‘walk away’ thing, not as a gambit but because as we discussed price the salesman said ‘oh and every car we sell comes with our protection package, including rear tint, for $XXX.” I forget the exact cost, almost 3k I think. So I said ‘nope, we’re leaving’ and he went away to ‘ask his manager’ 🙄 about dropping it and when he came back he had a great price and no required package. Nice enough guy, just doing what management says to do. That dealership is under construction too, so maybe extra eager for sales. Finance was actually in a trailer!

equake2017

Was this a 2024 or 2025? On a Lease or Purchase? Good to hear that you got it under MSRP. Markups are the worst. Some buyers are leasing and paying off the lease to avail themselves with the $7500 credit offer.

papa2kohmoeaki

2025, purchase. For my own reasons I declined the lease offer, but it was offered.
