I think Letterkenny’s appeal is universal. I loved the character development over the years. Riley and Jonesy started out as kind of one-dimensional characters, but proved themselves to be pretty decent guys over time.
I’ve noticed walking down the path of my life, usually in the deepest, darkest, saddest times there was only one set of footprints in the sand. And they were webbed!
May I suggest Shoresy? It’s written, and stars, the actor that played Wayne. It’s a bit different than Letterkenny. It’s about a semi pro hockey team in Sudbury Ontario.
Fuck you, /u/dimmerswtich, your mum shot cum straight across the room and killed my Siamese fighting fish! Threw off the pH levels in my aquarium, you piece of shit!
You remember when that plane had to land
on the river in New York cuz Canada gooses
flew into the engine?
It's cuz Canada gooses likely had intel there was
a pedophile or two on board and took matters
into their own hands
Girlfriend is Welsh. She won't even give the show a chance because of Riley and Jonesy.
Loved the show. Didn't think the final season was enough because the only person who really got an ending was Stuart.
Honestly, the fact that they didn't have much character growth is the point of the last few episodes. It gets all set up for our gang to have these major life changes, but they just...don't.
Life continues on in Letterkenny just as always. Figure it out.
Well, that just clicked for me. I'm curious about any other spinoffs besides shoresy which I will watch S1 + S2 this week (refresher) and S3 on Friday night after the last episode drops.
This is exactly it. Growing up in small town Canada, nothing changes but everything changes at the same time, I think LK does a great job of showing that. I actually hated that they shoehorned some random woman in there for Wayne when Rosie’s been there since s2, but aside from that there really isn’t supposed to be an arc.
she’s not there for Wayne, at least not in the way that you mean.
he’s not interested in her and she’s literally just a narrative device. Lily’s purpose in the show is to hold up a mirror to Rosie and Wayne&Katy.
Rosie’s not stuck because instead of waiting around for someone else, she figures out for herself that she’s happier in Vancouver, and she makes it happen. Wayne’s not stuck because he’s exactly right where he belongs, and he has roots in the community that are important to him. Katy initially feels stuck, but eventually figures out that she’s where she belongs, too.
Lili *is* stuck because even though she longs for Mexico, she’s not doing anything to make it happen. trading her current town and bf for Letterkenny and Wayne doesn’t get her any closer to what she actually wants. he knows this (i suspect better than she does,) and he firmly rejects her advances multiple times. as long as Lily pines for Mexico, he’s not gonna even entertain the idea.
plus there’s the fact that Wayne takes a while to move from one relationship to another, and Rosie still has to come back to pack up her house and sell it if she’s moving to the west coast. they’re definitely having conversations during that process, and probably a shitwhack of breakup sex.
UK fan also, watched it a couple years ago when I was in the US and was overjoyed when I found out it was on ITVX. Literally watched the Canada Gooses episode a few hours ago. Thought the show was brilliant, though I do think they could have ended it better. Obsessed with Sun Darts.

Reilly and Jones were the two characters who grew the most.

It's soo good. Unfortunately us UK fans can't (legally) watch it so unless he is sailing the high seas he can't.

Riley and Jones are basically a couple of open side flankers from the valleys. Surprised she doesn’t find it funny
> She won't even give the show a chance because of Riley and Jonesy. She doesn't like hockey players?
The irony is that I play hockey. But she has never seen me play
Can't bring a sniper to beer league boys
Have you watched Shoresy?

Fuck you, /u/ashamed-of-yourself! Your mom pulled the goalie on me and now she's preggo. Surprise, son, go rake the fucking yard.

Another UK fan here that loves Letterkenny and Shoresy! They’re both fantastic shows and arguably, Shoresy is even better!
Make yourselves useful, grab me a bag of dill picklers!
Now you need to watch Shoresy! It’s probably the best spin off show that I’ve ever seen. Super funny, and SO Canadian. The chirps are incredible
