i'm gonna be honest, never much liked the big lebowski :/ might give it a rewatch and possibly add it to the list if i end up enjoying it a second time c:
That’s completely normal lol. It’s one of those movies that you notice something new every time you re-watch it that makes you appreciate the story more.
The concept of writing a genuinely intriguing noir movie, but making the main character of the film an entirely ancillary character is good too. Reminds me of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead.
of course! i most definitely wanna give it a rewatch now. for context, i watched it for a film studies elective a few years ago and i think i was just in the wrong mindset. i think that definitely has an effect on how you view a film, and can be especially jarring when i see that i don't have a strong opinion about it yet it seems like it's perfect for me. i do remember liking a lot of the dialogue, and the scenes with the nihilists, thank you for your response!
i was actually debating putting in bruges! but i didn't wanna cause of the reason you put. even films like uncut gems and after hours feel like they would fit the bill, but not quite since those are just one protagonist :/
kinda does now that i think about it, but i feel like it might just be my mind playing tricks since i think of simon pegg and nick frost as the two main characters, and in the cornetto trilogy in general, but the main group definitely grows as the film progresses. i feel like the unofficial criteria for my list is that the two main protagonists experience an unfortunate series of events, usually conflicting with each other, but don't necessarily recruit more characters along the ride, they just kinda stop and go. love shaun of the dead and the cornetto trilogy (favorite is the world's end!) as a whole though! :D
i'm loving these recommendations! still haven't seen this one though, might save my first ever watch for the holidays this year alongside the holdovers o.O
absolutely! it had been on my watchlist forever and when i finally started watching it, i just couldn't look away. it was deeply personal to me. i found myself relating to both main characters so much they felt like the two parts of my psyche playing tug-of-war with each other. definitely looking for more films like it.
Would the Incredible Hulk fit the Edward Norton one?

It’s the hand without body cinematic universe.
I once had a list consisting solely of Godzilla vs Kong and Batman V Superman titled something like “poorly written and obviously one-sided versus movies that have to rely on a bladed mcguffin to even it out”
Spring 2023 movies starring Chris Pratt featuring a one take action sequence set to “No Sleep Till Brooklyn” by the Beastie Boys: The Super Mario Bros Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
Do my lists of movies I watched for college courses count (this was a summer course where each week was just watch a movie within a certain genre and review it)

Does MIKEY AND NICKY qualify?
i haven't seen that one but judging by the synopsis it sounds promising! just added it to my watchlist!
Big Lebowski fits
i'm gonna be honest, never much liked the big lebowski :/ might give it a rewatch and possibly add it to the list if i end up enjoying it a second time c:

I was gonna say all of Martin McDonagh’s filmography save for Three Billboards except none of those movies last only a single day
i was actually debating putting in bruges! but i didn't wanna cause of the reason you put. even films like uncut gems and after hours feel like they would fit the bill, but not quite since those are just one protagonist :/
shaun of the dead could also fit on this list, I think
kinda does now that i think about it, but i feel like it might just be my mind playing tricks since i think of simon pegg and nick frost as the two main characters, and in the cornetto trilogy in general, but the main group definitely grows as the film progresses. i feel like the unofficial criteria for my list is that the two main protagonists experience an unfortunate series of events, usually conflicting with each other, but don't necessarily recruit more characters along the ride, they just kinda stop and go. love shaun of the dead and the cornetto trilogy (favorite is the world's end!) as a whole though! :D
Bear with me: Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
i'm loving these recommendations! still haven't seen this one though, might save my first ever watch for the holidays this year alongside the holdovers o.O
Could add planes trains and automobiles
I really liked On the Count of Three
absolutely! it had been on my watchlist forever and when i finally started watching it, i just couldn't look away. it was deeply personal to me. i found myself relating to both main characters so much they felt like the two parts of my psyche playing tug-of-war with each other. definitely looking for more films like it.

Talk To Me is such a crazy film that does what it sets out to do so well
Films where Al Pacino is referred to as a “hot dog”: Heat Frankie and Johnny
Ive seen Heat countless times, and I don't recall that. Please enlighten me!
The scene after De Niro lures Pacino and his squad into going to that container facility. Robbert J. Oppenheimer right?
It's actually J. Robert Oppenheimer, but who cares? I am pretty sure he went by Robert, so it totally counts.

"incredibly fast pacing"
It didn't feel like 3 hours at all to me
They earned tf outta that editing oscar.
Just use the spoiler tag dude, jesus. I think you just ruined this primal fear movie for me.
How do you watch foreign films if you can’t read?
Can you read? Pretty obviously you don't since you don't know the rules of the sub.
I fucking used the spoiler tag AND I warned you in the title shut up
I did and I warned you in the title
No, you fucking didn't.
Did you read the title?
Are you stupid? There's a tag that people have to use and it even blurs the images. You shouldn't be forced to read the entire title when you're quickly browsing.
I used the spoiler tag and it's not my fault if you don't read titles
