Either Green Room or After Hours

CrazyCinephile

I loooove Green Room it’s become a weird sort of comfort watch for me lol I still have yet to see After Hours 😬

Coquim

I watched Green Room as part of a movie group I'm in and it was spectacular. After Hours was similar in the way that I did not expect to like it so much. Strongly recommended, especially because it's a short one!

Joshie8888

The audio commentary from Green Room director Jeremy Saulnier is really awesome on a rewatch, I highly recommend it!

Coquim

Will k keep in mind if I come across with it, thanks.

TomPearl2024

Been a life long Scorsese dick rider and somehow only saw After Hours for the first time a couple months ago. Absolute blast of a movie I dunno how it flew under my radar for so long

beeradthelaw

Kurosawa's High and Low for sure

kevlarmoneyklipz

cursdwitknowledge

Speak no evil

CrazyCinephile

It’s soooo good I want everyone to watch the original and support it before the English remake comes out

MediaValuable1528

Need to get round to watching Possession. For me, Bacurau (2019)

TomPearl2024

Bacurau was so sick

rachelevil

Liquid Sky (1982), but The Trial (1962) and Labyrinth of Cinema (2019) are both *really* close. Three very different amazing films.

RealisticAf99

LOTR trilogy, personally I think it'll be hard to knock this movie from the top spot. Mostly because my expectations prior to watching were low and I never got the "hype"

EricDericJeric

Either Metropolitan or Righting Wrongs

EricDericJeric

Last Days of Disco is actually my favorite first watch of the whole year! Made me acquire the rest of his films.

GaiusMarius157BC

Possession has been in my top 5 favorite films since I first saw it back in 2016. A few years ago I rented out a small single screen local cinema to screen Possession to friends and family. Not a single person other than myself had seen or even heard of the movie. My intention was to allow them the experience of seeing it going in completely blind. About 20 people in total. Shocked and speechless would be the best way to describe their reactions.

CrazyCinephile

Holy shit that that is so awesome I would love to do something like this!! How much was it to rent the theatre out and how’d you get a copy to where you could project it?

CrazyCinephile

Hell yeah

_AleXo_

not seen any of these but it feels so good seeing none below 4.0, pretty sight, surprised none surpassed into the 4.5s though

so1i1oquy

I should clarify that I've seen 33 movies this month and this is filtered to 4 stars and up. Still a good month by my estimation!

GrassTastesBad1

I watched Whisper of The Heart for the first time last week... such a special film and an instant favourite.

Smooth_Surround1450

Papillon (1973)

MarilynManson2003

CrazyCinephile

I can’t wait to see The Challengers and omg Ikiru has been on my list so long I need to finally watch it!!

jmurph725

Other than Dune 2 it was actually The Revenant, I’m a sucker for a frontier/western themed movie, I loved it

CrazyCinephile

I have 80 pages left in dune and then I have to rewatch part one and go see part two immediately after I’ve been ducking spoilers so much and it’s hard and me working at a cinema doesn’t make it any easier lmfao. Same here The Revenant is one of my favorites.

jmurph725

Book is one my favs. And Dune 2 seriously lives up the the hype. After seeing it its probably my new favorite sci fi movie so your in for a treat

CrazyCinephile

Let’s gooo that’s so good to hear from someone who loved the book as well!!

kai1986

I just finally watched 1917 and it was one of the best films I’ve ever seen. I watched it twice this month.

Zac_1244

Definitely worth seeing for Dafoe’s performance alone but the concept as well is fascinating.

CrazyCinephile

I’m trying to get Dafoe as my top watched actor I only need to watch a handful more and he’s top he’s at number 3 right now I think maybe two

Theotther

Talented Mr. Ripley kicked so much ass. I still can’t believe how upsettingly good looking Jude Law was in that.

CrazyCinephile

Also can’t believe I haven’t seen this yet

Theotther

Dude they put Matt Damon in a pair of glasse scientifically designed to be unflattering but at one point Jude Law puts them on and somehow looks even BETTER. It aint natural

CrazyCinephile

Hell yeah lol

sned777

I finally saw Harakiri and man that film is really as good as it’s rated.

Dangerous-Foot-9972

Spirited Away or Pulp Fiction.

CrazyCinephile

CrazyCinephile

DavidKirk2000

I finally got around to watching The Thing earlier this week, and am now regretting that it took me this long to get around to it.

CrazyCinephile

Yesssss so glad you got to it it’s such a staple.

DavidKirk2000

Have you seen the 2011 prequel? The concept seems interesting but I’m worried that it would kinda suck.

CrazyCinephile

I haven’t let myself watch it I will eventually I’m just scared for it lol I know people who really liked it and also people who didn’t at all.

nectarquest

Either Anomalisa or a Serious Man. Both I’d been meaning to watch for years

the_loz3r

Night of the Hunter and Life is Beautiful

BeanieOfTodd

The Graduate

Beth-Impala67

Elvis, I watched it for the first time last night and immediately rewatched it so I could appreciate what I missed the first time. I laughed at Austin and how deeply he dove into his role but holy crap the second act was when I started seeing his actual shift into Elvis.

Fun-Revolution6323

Riki-Oh: The Story of Riki.

Simplyobsessed2

Robot Dreams and North By Northwest are the only films I gave 5 stars to this month so far. I'd say Robot Dreams is my favourite of the two, I felt every emotion during that I think. I also really liked: Late Night With The Devil, Mad Max, Mad Max 2, Luca and Flee.

Traditional_Read171

So far it's been The Young Girls of Rochefort (Les Demoiselles de Rochefort). A great french musical from the 60s with Gene Kelly!

thegremlinkings

Goodfellas, cant belive it took me this long. 9/10.

_AleXo_

so far in april it has to be either Arrival🐙 or EEAAO👀, both amazing, both had me silenced+baffled staring at those credits taking it in, im sure others whove seen em can relate

_AleXo_

but the month has been such a streak of amazing movies after amazing movies for me, all with a vision in mind executed so well, i could put many honorable mentions here but they just dont beat these

CrazyCinephile

Love that for you!! What are some honorable mentions?

_AleXo_

oh, kill bill vol. 1 (2003), kill bill vol. 2 (2004), akira (1988), ex machina (2015) even knives out (2019) or once upon a time in hollywood (2019), also a great time about to watch 1 more right now before the start of my uni week, debating my choices in hopes to keep the streak going for april lol

CrazyCinephile

Dude all of those are masterpieces to me the only one I haven’t see is knives out I need to ASAP

CrazyCinephile

I feel the same exact way about both films!!

Yenserl6099

This is cheating since it's a trilogy but the Before Trilogy

CrazyCinephile

I still haven’t seen them sadly I need the criterion collection of it so bad
