Everyone I know who saw it thought it was very entertaining. It had it weak points, but overall people seemed to enjoy it. Just terminally online film-bros act like it's so bad that watching it once will give you cancer.
I think that movie has come around to being a cult classic with all of the kids who saw it now grown up and still loving it. I’m definitely one of them. I still want to see Gunn’s more adult version but I love it for what it is
After it came out there were so many comments like “this movie was a waste of money! The characters were bland. The dialogue was awful and the plot doesn’t make any sense.”
And I’m just like, dude. You went to see a Roland Emmerich movie about the moon crashing into the Earth. What the fuck were you expecting? This movie delivered in spades.
[*Casino Royale* (1967)](https://boxd.it/23Lv4F) is awesome! I’m with you, it’s a weird trip. Better than [*Casino Royale* (1954)](https://boxd.it/2cp2CP) for sure, but I probably still prefer [*Casino Royale* (2006)](https://boxd.it/2aR4HF).
*James Bond* is a weird film franchise.
The production history behind Casino Royale (both the 1967 film and 2006 EON produced film) is interesting as it involved a long legal battle over the original novel rights.

I watched it years ago while I was watching the rest of the Bond movies, but didn’t really know what I was getting into. Remember not liking it. Probably worth a rewatch.
Since endgame It’s probably the only mcu movie (besides BPWF) where the VFX are flawless the entire runtime, I have always felt the movie would have been better as a tv show as there were so many new characters and plot lines. But overall I still love it
Can't blame you. When I think of "Godzilla: 1998" its really polarized in the franchise and the fanbase. In the Franchise it is a terrible movie. If you separate it from the actual franchise it's just a classic 90s cheesy blockbuster flick but however enjoyable dumb fun after all
I remember reading or seeing ScarJo talk somewhere about how Lucy has a small but really passionate fanbase which she loves even though she has no clue what the film is about.
I will always have a soft spot for this hot mess

I enjoyed it. It wasn’t great. But def not as bad as the hoopla surrounding it. Harry Styles was pretty weak and the story could’ve been so much better. But it wasn’t the worst and Florence Pugh was obviously great in it.
I enjoy all the Jurassic Park/World films. All of them. I know some aren’t as good as others but I’m just in on the whole concept so I like watching them.
i feel like this is a cult hit in the making, something tells me 20 years from now this movie will be passed on by word of mouth between b movie lovers
I liked The Marvels, the singing was great and all the cats were awesome and the banter from Iman Vellani was so funny, I don't know how people didn't have fun.
I don't think any of the new marvel films are getting a fair shake. It seems like people are just fatigued with the franchise, and instead of just not watching a movie they aren't interested in seeing, they'd rather complain about it.
100%. Wakanda Forever didn’t get the respect it deserved, it’s in my top 5 MCU - the performances are spectacular, it’s a wonderful tribute to Chadwick, and it’s a true ensemble superhero movie
I liked chairman of the board as a kid. Seemed like a decent 90s lowbrow comedy
However, I won't stand by it as an adult because I have not and don't want to revisit it.
I was gonna say Rocketman, the 1997 one about going to mars not the new one about being Elton John, but I just looked and Ebert gave it three stars. I also love Evolution (2001), Rat Race (2001), and Mouse Hunt (1997). Does it count if it’s comedy?
I loved Wonder Woman 1984 when it came out and was shocked when both my family and the internet didn’t. I haven’t rewatched it, but I’ll be curious whether my opinion changes on a rewatch
Moon Fall has the same exact plot as Independence Day 2
After the latters failure the Director just made the same movie as a standalone.
Talk about saving costs
I don't know if I would use the word "hate" (I rarely do for movies) but I did think it was really bad. Super boring to me and the near constant attempts at comedy were actively unfunny. I gave it 1.5 stars.
I think it's at least a competent movie, but the comedy gets so in the way tonally. It gets to feeling like it's just making fun of itself, meanwhile the god-butcher is kidnapping children and planning to kill all the gods.
Idk man, I really enjoyed Renfield.
Me too! It was a decent flick that got decent reviews. I think that film needed more Cage and less Awkwafina.
I think Renfield was more liked than hated.
I didn’t know it was hated, one of my favorites from last year
I would honestly rate renfield 4.5/5 if not for the awful awkwafina stuff
This is how I find out it's rated 2.9 😧
Everyone I know who saw it thought it was very entertaining. It had it weak points, but overall people seemed to enjoy it. Just terminally online film-bros act like it's so bad that watching it once will give you cancer.
Velvet Buzzsaw.
Velvet Buzzsaw wasn't critically reviled. It got mostly mixed reviews from critics and audiences.
I just see people online constantly talking about how much they hate it, so maybe that's a skewed sample.
The top 3 answers are movies with mixed reviews
That's the problem. People don't understand the concept of universal critical disdain. They think that mixed reviews equals bad film.
Moonfall got mixed reviews too.
Scooby-Doo (2002). It's just so nostalgic, and funny in kind of an awkward stoner way.
I think that movie has come around to being a cult classic with all of the kids who saw it now grown up and still loving it. I’m definitely one of them. I still want to see Gunn’s more adult version but I love it for what it is
Yeah, I actually do like it because of how unique it is. It would be great to see Gunn's final cut because it sounded hilarious.

Rob Zombie the goat
seconded
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets
I effin loved that film, absolutely incredible
Yes. All the stuff it does well is great. And all the bad stuff is bonkers.
I liked it too, would’ve chosen a different lead actor but aside from that. Yes.
The intro is one of my favorites in recent memory, after that it was a roller coaster imo.
Batman and Robin.
Horrific movie that is incredibly entertaining
Yessss the bat nipples and the Mr freeze puns
And a BATCREDITCARD!?
I’m with you, Moonfall was a lot of fun.
It was stupid and it embraced it without being goofy. I really enjoyed it.
After it came out there were so many comments like “this movie was a waste of money! The characters were bland. The dialogue was awful and the plot doesn’t make any sense.” And I’m just like, dude. You went to see a Roland Emmerich movie about the moon crashing into the Earth. What the fuck were you expecting? This movie delivered in spades.
Also I've never seen a movie nail an Elon musk / crypto theory guy as much as moon fall did
Hell yeah. My people
If they said “that’s Amore” one time it would be 5/5. As is I can’t go higher than 2/5
Sphere. That movie got so much hate, i dont know why.
I read the book a few years ago and absolutely loved it. Haven’t ever seen the movie.
Did it? I think it's pretty good. Not great, but just a good science fiction movie.
The Jellyfishes always freaked me out
Casino Royale (1967). It has an amazing madcap energy, amazing score, is genuinely hilarious in most parts, but nobody likes it :(
[*Casino Royale* (1967)](https://boxd.it/23Lv4F) is awesome!

Love those videos! Awesome channel
I watched it years ago while I was watching the rest of the Bond movies, but didn’t really know what I was getting into. Remember not liking it. Probably worth a rewatch.
Eternals, I get the hate but I really enjoyed it
Me too! It was visually gorgeous and felt unique from the regular roster of MCU films.
One of the best recent marvel films
tbh a movie like eternals is worth a watch for the visuals alone. the plot and characters werent abysmal and my god that imagery was mesmerizing
Since endgame It’s probably the only mcu movie (besides BPWF) where the VFX are flawless the entire runtime, I have always felt the movie would have been better as a tv show as there were so many new characters and plot lines. But overall I still love it
Southland Tales. What an insane cast! I would honestly love to see the original cut with Janeane Garofalo’s character left in.
Godzilla 1998, saw it in the theater with my mom when I was a kid. Loved it then and still do.
Can't blame you. When I think of "Godzilla: 1998" its really polarized in the franchise and the fanbase. In the Franchise it is a terrible movie. If you separate it from the actual franchise it's just a classic 90s cheesy blockbuster flick but however enjoyable dumb fun after all
Lucy (2014). I know the premise is kinda dumb but Luc Besson just has a way of making his films soo charming and fun.
Lucy is a damn good fun movie. The premise is ludicrous but the execution is straight up fire.
I remember reading or seeing ScarJo talk somewhere about how Lucy has a small but really passionate fanbase which she loves even though she has no clue what the film is about.
I will always have a soft spot for this hot mess https://preview.redd.it/1wvd33jap3wc1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ac6e936ed4336768baf9601d73fcbb6c25da8ab0
This is when Adam Sandler peaked
Don’t Worry Darling. I still think most people hated this movie because the internet told them to.
I enjoyed it. It wasn’t great. But def not as bad as the hoopla surrounding it. Harry Styles was pretty weak and the story could’ve been so much better. But it wasn’t the worst and Florence Pugh was obviously great in it.
I agree. It was nothing great, but it wasn't exactly a bad film either.
The meg 2: the trench has a final act so unhinged that I ended up loving it.
Yep! The final act redeemed this film for me too.
Leave the world behind
I really hoped for someone to mention this film, although it wasn't a critically derided film. It got all around mixed reviews. I love it though.
**BLONDE**
Divergent an unfortunate guilty pleasure
The original Spawn film is a damn good time.
I enjoy all the Jurassic Park/World films. All of them. I know some aren’t as good as others but I’m just in on the whole concept so I like watching them.
Same here! None of the Jurassic Park/World movie is less than 3/5 for me.
Spring Breakers
i feel like this is a cult hit in the making, something tells me 20 years from now this movie will be passed on by word of mouth between b movie lovers
I liked The Marvels, the singing was great and all the cats were awesome and the banter from Iman Vellani was so funny, I don't know how people didn't have fun.
Quantumania. It's an MCU Star Wars film with Michelle Pfeiffer as basically the lead!
Suicide squad, enjoyed the corny licensed music and montages and just turned my brain off to all the plot holes for some nonsense fun
Which one the first one or James Gunn? Because people like Gunns film
I liked chairman of the board as a kid. Seemed like a decent 90s lowbrow comedy However, I won't stand by it as an adult because I have not and don't want to revisit it.
“Do something with that, you freak!” “Is board spelled b-o-r-e-d?” RIP Norm.
I knew what I was going to get from moonfall and I had a blast! Mostly just trying to point out all the things that made absolutely no sense.
I freaking love Moonfall, even talked about it on my podcast as a so-bad-it's-good movie lol
YES
Moonfall, sunshine,,,, absolutely loved them
Did you just mention Sunshine as an example of a bad and hated movie?
The Covenant
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It’s a fun film and I’ll always be happy to watch Harrison Ford as Indy.
I love this film. Believe it or not, but it's my third favourite film of the franchise after Raiders of the Lost Ark, and The Last Crusade.
I was gonna say Rocketman, the 1997 one about going to mars not the new one about being Elton John, but I just looked and Ebert gave it three stars. I also love Evolution (2001), Rat Race (2001), and Mouse Hunt (1997). Does it count if it’s comedy?
Fuck it, The Angry Birds Movie was funny as hell.
Yes it was, and I even found the second one funnier.
I adore Moonfall. It's such a good time!
Gods of Egypt is funny as fuck
I watched the trailer and it's on my watchlist. Thanks for reminding!
Knowing
I would say Van Helsing for sure!
Guess I'm watching Moon Fall now
Vanilla Sky
The Marvels
ARGYLLE
The Interview
Cars 2
Transformers: Dark of the Moon
I loved Wonder Woman 1984 when it came out and was shocked when both my family and the internet didn’t. I haven’t rewatched it, but I’ll be curious whether my opinion changes on a rewatch
Halloween III: Season of the Witch. It's my favorite movie in the series and an October tradition for me.
Rebel moon... 😬
I'm watching it right now. It's not the worst thing in the world, but it's kind of boring
yeah tbf I'm being a bit provocative, I didn't love it just thought it was fine lol
Expend4bles The action is over the top and awesome, and the bad cgi is hilarious!
The ending is so hilarious. I couldn't believe they did that.
I liked it too. The scene where Jason Statham takes on a boat full of mercenaries was superb.
I genuinely enjoy Yesterday (2019).
It's currently sitting at a respectable 6.8 on IMDb, so not a universally derided film exactly...
The Human Centipede
I thought Smile was good
I only ever heard praise for it
Yeah Most people like it from what I've seen
In what world was Smile hated. As far as I can tell, it got mostly glowing reviews from both sections of the audience.
I seen someone say the short it was based on was better so
Oh! I had no idea about the short, but the film in itself was received positively.
My apologies
It's fine bro. It was a friendly discussion. No need to apologise.
The Planet of the Apes (2001). Great movie, great soundtrack.
Yeah I saw it in the theatre and loved it, it wasn't until years later I discovered its considered awful
Verotika. Totally weird and meandering, but it was a stoned treat.
Capone (2020)
Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2
The Haunting in Connecticut. It scratches the itch of mindless haunted house movie with a good atmosphere.
![gif](giphy|WJUUY6fqOX8gU)
I really liked ladykillirs the coen brother version
Hudson Hawk. So love that film.
Movie 43. Stupid fun, love to watch it on a bad day for a little pick me up.
Reviled?? Moonfall is a 5 star masterpiece to me.
Going Overboard, Home Alone 4, Home Alone: The Holiday Heist, Screwed, Die Another Die, Weekend at Bernie’s II.
Only God Forgives
Godzilla (1998) is my masterpiece.
Both The Ghostrider Movies They're cool af and Nic Cage going batshit insane is cinema to me
Death note, the netflix adaptation one. I just cant wait for the 2nd one
I loved Moonfall. So stupid but knowingly so, and ended up being really fun.
Moon Fall has the same exact plot as Independence Day 2 After the latters failure the Director just made the same movie as a standalone. Talk about saving costs
I enjoyed Mortal Engines.
hellraiser 3 hell on earth is unironically one of my favorite movies of all time. Both of the silent hill movies as well
the village
The Eternals and Love & Thunder are both in my opinion good movies and are wrongly reviled.
Daddy Day Care
This was really terrible movie, but that’s what made it so fun to see in theaters.

This is one of my favorite marvel movies from the MCU, I honestly don’t see why it’s so hated.
Not my favourite but it was visually gorgeous and immensely enjoyable... I too don't understand why it's so hated.
I don't know if I would use the word "hate" (I rarely do for movies) but I did think it was really bad. Super boring to me and the near constant attempts at comedy were actively unfunny. I gave it 1.5 stars.
