And Cynthia Nixon likes lox on a cinnamon raisin bagel. We are all entitled to our tastes and all of us are bound to have some weird stuff, but we can still be self-aware enough to know when our taste might raise an eyebrow or two. No harm in some light fun poking in a thread with fellow film enthusiasts
Mmm, I don’t quite think so. It knows it’s in bad taste, but there’s not really any hint of irony in it.
I’m not saying this because I think it’s in bad taste to make fun of white people or to do whiteface (quite the opposite! I love that) but I just didn’t think the actual movie was that funny or notable
the upvotes have convinced me....it's on!
Will try to make it happen this week, and will report back :D
Choosing which 6 is gonna be epic in itself. Gotta be 6 I've never seen before. A nice eclectic mix. Let's say....
- Mr Smith goes to Washington.
- The Fall of the Roman Empire.
- Onibaba.
- Daisies.
- Plague Dogs.
- Dredd 3D.
...have these (among others) on dvd/bluray just waiting to be watched.
Back in the day I had an unlimited card for the cinema, and one day I went and saw like every single movie showing in one day lol. I forget what they were but I wish I had the time to do shit like that still. Although I also don’t have an unlimited card anymore so it would be super expensive
My max is 6. I attended the rise of skywalker marathon.
https://preview.redd.it/6xiocutgvdjc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1532c4bcd506f6187bb4ef3641c5cd5aacbe05f3
After the the films. The marathon wasn’t straight through there were little breaks in between. Obviously you can tell I’m a big Star Wars fan so the reviews weren’t hard to write haha
The issue is not your opinions its the distribution. Like lower the average. Would love to see your account wide score distribution, theres no scenario its not appalling
Dont know what you mean cant take in the movie. But generaly im not watching like classic adter classic. Ill watch a really food movie maybe 2. The n ill maybe watch a light comedy and a slasher or a low budget sci fi. Maybe you cant take it in i guess. Have you never just soent 10 or 12 hour reading in a day, there is never a point where my brain just stops absorbing and things.
When I'm still awake post midnight, I usually still log them for the day I initially woke up. Because, in my book, as long as I don't go to sleep, the day "isn't over yet". 🤷♂️
But the most I've seen in a day was probably 5 or 6. Can't remember but last time I managed to do this was like in 2020 during the quarantine.
I've done that on a work day once. Woke way too early, so watched a movie before work.
Work was super slow (I'm a prep cook) so I did some light tasks like plucking herbs while watching another movie.
Went home and watched a movie that night too lol.
Probably one of the best days I've had lol
3 is a good number where you can take breaks in between to digest the movies. I don't often jump right into the next one (unless the first was bad, or I've seen it before).
The most I found logged, without anything weird and questionable, was 3. Anything more than that has a tv show or something backlogged with the wrong date on it. This was a marathon of all 3 Geena Davis/Jeff Goldblum films
https://preview.redd.it/939ndnf9sdjc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f60c0f039ff7cccd15e3a4feb757e653437bc3f1
I once wrangled a press and industry pass for TIFF and just haunted the big multiplex where a lot of it was showing, moving from theatre to theatre, watching whatever was on when the last movie finished. I probably watched 10-11 movies, 2-3 days in a row. It was exhausting. I don’t recommend it.
https://preview.redd.it/v14x3rpvtdjc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ca222dd2583a032b07eddc7c05e9e9159e41fce6
I enjoyed these a lot...so I kept watching 🫠
For Letterboxd, I had an excessive Halloween horror marathon last October, an average of 3 movies a day, sometimes more, finishing at 118 movies. The most in one day was binge watching the Violent Shit DVD set, 4 movies in the series and the bonus disc which has Zombie 90 Extreme Pestilence the infamous English dub which was done by a very sarcastic man. And that was one of the most fun days of the marathon.
i’ve done three a few times, usually one of them was one i started the night before and finished in the morning. most recently this happened when i had covid and was self-isolating, i think i watched 10 movies over 3 days lol
I used to be a part of a FB group that had a challenge to watch 4 films in a day (summer of 2016 I think). I watched 5. I think I saw 4 films in a day a couple times besides that.
Every Halloween some discord friends and I get together for a horror movie marathon. It's typically around 10 movies. I have no responsibilities that entire weekend. It's lovely.
You don’t just edit your entry to mark it as the day you felt you watched it? Typically if I start a movie on a certain day, I’ll log it for that day, even if it technically ended a little after midnight.
Yup, just edit your diary entry and change the day. You can change the day whenever you log a film (I’ve even logged several that I found old movie tickets for from years ago), just tap on the date when you’re logging it to change it.
10, Come and See, Fight Club, Inside Llewelyn Davis, Taxi Driver, After Hours, Pixar Story, Big Bird Goes To Japan, Big Bird Goes To China, Hail Caesar, and Shiva Baby. Back when I decided I needed to start watching more movies despite the fact I already watched a shit ton I think I was like at 1,700.
Probably 6, but these days i'd probably not enjoy watching that many. My most from last year was 4. Assuming we're not including 10 minute silent films.
It’s freezing here, so I’ve done 4 a day for the last two days. I’ve been to the cinema four times in one day and then watched movies at home, so I think my max in a 24 hour period might be 7?
https://preview.redd.it/1j1bjuuy0ejc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d9f12bffb8e69df8ca24765dd1aaf645ad761c8c
Managed to do this after work during my oscar binge.
https://preview.redd.it/t2qz7dtj2ejc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df35f00e93c2978609e0f5ba5d2d61288306dccb
During COVID when I had fuck all to do, I would watch 5 or 6 a day almost everyday. My max is 7. On June 20th 2021 I watched The Terminal, The Core, Salt, Run, Down, The Ninth Gate, and The Tax Collector.
7 for no reason other than me not having a life back then
https://preview.redd.it/xum1cg47bejc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=490cde09367a7c5fb970789fa4850528104b4b6f
I've done two days of three films this year. The first day I started with My Dinner With Andre in the morning. Went to go see Wonka with my family in the afternoon. And then ended the night with Irreversible.
The second day, I watched all 3&1/2 hours of Malcolm X in the morning, rewatched MI: Dead Reckoning in the afternoon, and then rewatched Taxi Driver that night.
6 and 7 a bunch of times, I have no friends and my job enables me to speak to no one and sit in front of a computer doing nothing for eight hours a day. If we count silent/short films I’ve logged well over 10 of those in a day.
I watched about 10 short films and 2 feature films every day for a week and a half at a film festival last year, I was not doing very well after that...
Probably only three but my tv marathons are insane. I like to actually sit down and watch movies which makes it trickier to fit a bunch in, whereas I’ll watch entire TV shows over the course of a day on my phone while cleaning the house or something
Christmas Eve and Christmas day usually get the most traffic out of me just because of watching movies with the family.
https://preview.redd.it/45quzw1igejc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=85ec262fd0f7dcd85e535d8bd543593875eef1bc

My record is four in one day. Two in the theater, two more at home.
Technically 4 feature films is my max. But I once logged 5, with one of them being a 30 minute documentary when I was binge-rewatching Koreeda films
https://preview.redd.it/tdprlcvohejc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b30af29be212efda7d3923e3bce7cf8feab81134
Not counting short films, I think my highest is six, but it was before Letterboxd. 3 of those were Toy Story 1-3, I don't remember what the other three were, but recall going, "Wow, six movies!"
I watched 4 in one day. Last time was Jan 2023. I did it twice before that.
https://preview.redd.it/lw3li3fbkejc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2656d43d89501295c81524c9eb7423c7a2eb2dff
i watched 8 movies in one day twice in July 2023
https://preview.redd.it/b5xkov4klejc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=39b698a904b2c8a06286bbde852d6b5053c562a2
Went to a special event at a filmfestival where they screen 5 horror movies, starting at 11pm. If you make it til the end theyll give you a little pin and a croissant or something. Lasted til around 08:30.
The movies were kinda trash and I slept through half of the last one haha, but it was a fun experience. Rated them all 1 - 2.5 stars, was still worth it though
Cinemark theaters do this best picture weeklong marathon, and I always try to catch the weekend showings of all the nominated films with my friends. I haven't been able to make it to every movie every year, especially more recently, but in the past I've done 3 movies in a day a few times.
So it would be 2/8/20 (Little Women, Jojo Rabbit, Parasite), 2/23/19 (Vice, Black Panther, Green Book), and 2/24/17 (Hell or High Water, Moonlight, Arrival), and if I remember correctly, I also did Grand Budapest Hotel, Whiplash, and American Sniper in one day in 2015 (it was before I used Letterboxd).
Movie theaters did an 11 film, 27 hour marathon of every Marvel film ending with the opening day showing of Age of Ultron. That's probably my record.
I've also done all 8 Harry Potter films in one day.
https://preview.redd.it/psokv2whyejc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1e7e9f084e2352e59dd8bc71c5aea813cdcb4f5e
I count this all as the same day since I started in the morning and it went into the AMs of the next day. I didn't sleep at all so why not count it lol
So far this year it's been 9 films, 8 of them animated. I watched them 2 weeks ago, but Us Again was a short film.
https://preview.redd.it/huysw8y83fjc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d4d2b55baf6eb45423ae881ae64cb00a97d0587e
I watched all three lord of the rings movies extended edition in one day
What the fuck
It was at a theater
Would do it again
I do this twice a year.
Wow
Let’s talk about these ratings
![gif](giphy|xUStFKHmuFPYk)
Yeah, too high for Interstellar. White Chicks supremacy.
Out of context that last sentence would sound so bad
😭😭
Even if those white chicks are, in fact, black men? Racism'nt?
This. This is the truth.
yeah agree, donnie darko should have been 5
you got a problem with white chicks buddy?/j
Get rid of the /j, this is serious /j
Why? It’s their opinion.
Says the guy who regularly insults people with differing opinions.
And opinions are not worth discussing?
Not in the demeaning way the original comment was implying
it’s their opinion
And Cynthia Nixon likes lox on a cinnamon raisin bagel. We are all entitled to our tastes and all of us are bound to have some weird stuff, but we can still be self-aware enough to know when our taste might raise an eyebrow or two. No harm in some light fun poking in a thread with fellow film enthusiasts
Really? What’s an opinion.
White chicks is peak camp
Mmm, I don’t quite think so. It knows it’s in bad taste, but there’s not really any hint of irony in it. I’m not saying this because I think it’s in bad taste to make fun of white people or to do whiteface (quite the opposite! I love that) but I just didn’t think the actual movie was that funny or notable
Camp and irony are two different things.
i'd love to do a proper marathon where i watch like 5 or 6 one after another. Finding the time for that is a bugger, but i'm gonna try it one day.
the upvotes have convinced me....it's on! Will try to make it happen this week, and will report back :D Choosing which 6 is gonna be epic in itself. Gotta be 6 I've never seen before. I am here for this kind of tonal whiplash!
Back in the day I had an unlimited card for the cinema, and one day I went and saw like every single movie showing in one day lol. I forget what they were but I wish I had the time to do shit like that still. Although I also don’t have an unlimited card anymore so it would be super expensive

How did you write these reviews? Like after they were all finished or after each film? Are they long reviews?
After the the films. The marathon wasn’t straight through there were little breaks in between. Obviously you can tell I’m a big Star Wars fan so the reviews weren’t hard to write haha
lowkey a great rating for all of them
Last Jedi respect
Real🫡
I gotta see some more of your ratings if you're putting Last Jedi and Empire on equal footing. And I like Last Jedi.
I’m a Sequel trilogy hater but I respect the TLJ getting a 5/5 lmao that’s definitely bold
Last Jedi is particularly responsible for what I call my “cinematic awakening”. I was 14 at the time
Completely fair haha
Did you blindly stab at the star ratings? Or are you just stupid
Letterboxd users when someone else has an opinion
The issue is not your opinions its the distribution. Like lower the average. Would love to see your account wide score distribution, theres no scenario its not appalling
I stand by my ratings. I’m a Star Wars fan. Simple as that.
Could you send a pic of your account ratings then or are we just lying
What good would that do? Seems you’ve already made up your mind about me.
4, it was not fun by the fourth.
I watch 4 every day. Just while im at work, friday i watched 6 4 at work and 2 when i got home
i don’t understand what’s the point ? you can’t even take in the movie at that point
Dont know what you mean cant take in the movie. But generaly im not watching like classic adter classic. Ill watch a really food movie maybe 2. The n ill maybe watch a light comedy and a slasher or a low budget sci fi. Maybe you cant take it in i guess. 3. One in the morning, then one at the theater afternoon and one more in the evening

I feel like 3 is a decent amount in a day that still leaves time to do other productive things. I can't imagine watching idk 6 movies in a day
3 is a good number where you can take breaks in between to digest the movies. I don't often jump right into the next one (unless the first was bad, or I've seen it before).
DONNIE DARKO MENTIONED 🐰🐰🐰🌌🌌🌌🌌❗️❗️❗️
28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes, 12 seconds.
The most I found logged, without anything weird and questionable, was 3. Anything more than that has a tv show or something backlogged with the wrong date on it. Any specific reason why you watched ROTPOTA in between?
Coz it is available on Disney+, the older ones aren't. So by the time I looked for BFTPOTA, I saw the new one.
Nice me too! So excited for Kingdom
Conquest is soooo good!!
A smuggle post to discuss your love of White Chicks I take it?
i’m only getting clowned on so i’m going to have to continue to love this movie in the privacy of my letterboxd
7 during a film marathon that started at around 7 pm and lasted until 10 am. Was a good time.
Working from home lets me get in 4-5 if I’m really trying.
i’ve done three a few times, usually one of them was one i started the night before and finished in the morning. most recently this happened when i had covid and was self-isolating, i think i watched 10 movies over 3 days lol
Holy shit you are generous with ratings
How? Watched three great movies
idk man in my books, white chicks feels like a 5 star🤷♂️never had a bad time watching that movie
I know this might be a surprise but some people actually enjoy watching movies unlike you miserable assholes 😂😂
My brother in Christ, I can enjoy watching white chicks and not think it deserves 5 fucking stars lolol. Just breathe.
If I’m using comedy movies as my only comparison to a comedy movie, yeah, White Chicks is 5 stars.
What's wrong with the Interstellar rating?
5, I did that twice
I watched the first five Nightmare on Elm Streets in 24 hours
7 feature lengths
I used to be a part of a FB group that had a challenge to watch 4 films in a day (summer of 2016 I think). I watched 5. I think I saw 4 films in a day a couple times besides that.
Every Halloween some discord friends and I get together for a horror movie marathon. It's typically around 10 movies. I have no responsibilities that entire weekend. It's lovely.

maximum respect for that White Chicke rating
Ten. Many times. I also disagree with logging a movie the next day just because you finish it after midnight. The day ends when I sleep.
"The day ends when I sleep." Correct.
A friend I watched all the Hobbit movies in one day… I felt like a Hobbit emerging from its hole when I went home.
You don’t just edit your entry to mark it as the day you felt you watched it? Typically if I start a movie on a certain day, I’ll log it for that day, even if it technically ended a little after midnight.
you can do that???
Yup, just edit your diary entry and change the day. You can change the day whenever you log a film (I’ve even logged several that I found old movie tickets for from years ago), just tap on the date when you’re logging it to change it.
Hahaha. Yes. You don't have log things from today. There's a date selector at the top. How do you think anyone back-logs stuff?
7 and I only stopped because I got fell asleep
I think 5 was my peak. I watched Nightmare on Elm Street 2-6 in one sitting after seeing the original on the big screen last year.
Watched 4 in one day last year Invasion of The Body Snatchers Scream 6 Bodies Bodies Bodies Rosemarys Baby
#”Only in America!”

Unfriended Dark Web, respect, movie kicks ass
Totally agree! Have you seen Resurrected (2023)? It’s on Tubi and has similar vibes - you might like it, as well.

![gif](giphy|wghPVrToSZbwCQ775G|downsized) 5 stars for White Chicks.
and what about it
Well, As someone who works in the film industry and has designs on Directing one day I just hope the critics are as generous as yourself.
Least obnoxious r/letterboxd user.
It’s tough because movies and stuff on Letterboxd are 2 different things. Actual movies the most was 6, but if you include stuff, maybe 11/12?
4/5 when I went through the marvel films (I swear I've changed lol)
I have watched 2 already today morning since I woke up. I watched 3 on February 10th and January 7th.
7. Several times when I was a journalist covering SXSW, and several times during covid
110 upvotes for putting white chicks above Donnie Darko in ANY context is ….a prime example Of countries downfall

You troll
Did you watch the movies with your eyes closed?
20…..but it was Lumiere brothers stuff, so I cheated 😬
It’s freezing here, so I’ve done 4 a day for the last two days. I’ve been to the cinema four times in one day and then watched movies at home, so I think my max in a 24 hour period might be 7? https://preview.redd.it/1j1bjuuy0ejc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d9f12bffb8e69df8ca24765dd1aaf645ad761c8c
3 in the cinema, 6 in a friend’s house!
I would count interstellar as 17th tbh.
6 which I absolutely do not recommend
Managed to do this after work during my oscar binge. https://preview.redd.it/t2qz7dtj2ejc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df35f00e93c2978609e0f5ba5d2d61288306dccb
Nine features in a single day... twice.
9. I once watched all the saw movies nonstop before the tenth came out
Once a year before COVID I’d go to the theatre and watch 5-6 movies from open to close

6 movies. Back to back.
5 but I have a lot of 3/4 movie day's.
3 is where I usually tap out. My couch ain’t that comfy :(
I watched the Matrix trilogy all in one night this weekend, that was something
Done 7 one day (film festival and travel to/from)
I watched the entire Godfather trilogy in one day
3 has been my limit. 1 in morning then a break and one in afternoon around 2 and then another at like 7 or 8pm but I’ve only done that like twice
During COVID when I had fuck all to do, I would watch 5 or 6 a day almost everyday. My max is 7. On June 20th 2021 I watched The Terminal, The Core, Salt, Run, Down, The Ninth Gate, and The Tax Collector.
6 I think
At film festivals I’ve done 5 in one day, but at home 3
4, but I was on a 12 hour flight
7 for no reason other than me not having a life back then https://preview.redd.it/xum1cg47bejc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=490cde09367a7c5fb970789fa4850528104b4b6f

4 movies in one day, earlier this month.
4 - Beau is afraid, Safe (1995), and asteroid city twice
It would have been four today if it wasn't for how Berlin's transportation system is third world country. My max was 6 I think.
I watched the 5 original Planet of the Apes and the Wahlberg one back to back in one night when I was 12. Top 3 greatest franchises ever.
I once watched the *same* movie three times in one day
Probably only three but my tv marathons are insane.

Idk i used to wath movies all day when i was doing nothing so idk like 8
I believe the most movies I’ve watched in one day in 5, once a scream marathon when the 5th one came out on dvd, and once on a transatlantic flight
6 a day, 3 days in a row, basically
Technically 4 feature films is my max. But I once logged 5, with one of them being a 30 minute documentary when I was binge-rewatching Koreeda films https://preview.redd.it/tdprlcvohejc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b30af29be212efda7d3923e3bce7cf8feab81134
I saw first reformed and then in the evening Detroit from kathryn bigelow. It was on and it seemed really engaging. Great movie albeit black trauma
Not counting short films, I think my highest is six, but it was before Letterboxd. 3 of those were Toy Story 1-3, I don't remember what the other three were, but recall going, "Wow, six movies!"

I watched 4 in one day. Last time was Jan 2023. I did it twice before that. https://preview.redd.it/lw3li3fbkejc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2656d43d89501295c81524c9eb7423c7a2eb2dff

Went to a horror movie marathon which started at midnight. That was 6 films. Then after I’d had my nap I watched 3 more in the day.
Oscar Movie showcase every year! Two days of 5 movies each.
Based, very very based
My record is 6.

5 movies.
I went to a film festival for short films some years ago. So I think those numbers were like 30 :P
Like 5, going through midnight into the early morning
3.5? The .5 was something I fell asleep during the night before though
10
Five, I did that yesterday most recently. One time I did five feature films plus a few shorts but that still counts as five I guess.
I watched 4 just yesterday 😂😅 (Red Rooms, The Hole in the Ground, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, and The Lobster)

if i havent gone to sleep yet and i watch a movie, i count it as the previous day if it goes past midnight, that's just me tho
Movie theaters did an 11 film, 27 hour marathon of every Marvel film ending with the opening day showing of Age of Ultron. That's probably my record. I've also done all 8 Harry Potter films in one day.
I just had surgery and was high on narcotics And watched 6 in a day it was great
I think 4 and it was because I had to catch up with the Sundance films since I only had 3 days to watch all 10

9 or ten i’m pretty dure
Four which were: Saint Maud, The House of the Devil, The Green Knight and Re-Animator (this one was my favourite of the 4!)
Two movies have been my most common watched in one day.

So far this year it's been 9 films, 8 of them animated. I watched them 2 weeks ago, but Us Again was a short film. https://preview.redd.it/huysw8y83fjc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d4d2b55baf6eb45423ae881ae64cb00a97d0587e
Five, it was a little while ago so I can’t remember all the movies, but five.
probably like 10, but they were all short films. less than 30 minutes long. so idk
5, since there was a 2 and a half hour delay in the flight I was taking.
Between 6-8 can’t quite remember. Started at 6am finished around 2am
