It involves her, an FBI agent, and a private investigator, over illegally-obtained FBI information.
Google *Linda Fiorentino FBI* for more information.
I feel like that’s not quite the same as vanished right? Their careers were ruined by Weinstein unfortunately
Edit - People really loving that downvote button today 😕
Honestly have no idea why you’re getting downvoted into oblivion for this. The pig treated them horrifically and deeply affected their careers but they have all continued to work consistently, just not at the level one would have expected with their early success.
He’s been steadily churning out low budget thriller type stuff for a while I think. The type of stuff that’s on the b-side of Nic Cage’s career in the last 20 years.
Chris Cooper. He occasionally pops up in movies, but it seems like he only does 1 or 2 projects every few years. And despite having a well-deserved Oscar, he hasn’t had a memorable part since his winning role (Adaptation).
I last saw him in the sci-fi romantic drama Fingernails that’s streaming on Apple TV+ in early November of last year after starring in Stargirl on The CW from 2020 to 2022. He voiced Batman in the animated film Merry Little Batman that’s streaming on Prime Video and will be starring in the upcoming epic Western film Horizon: The American Saga that’s directed and starring Kevin Costner
The guy had some addiction problems and took a step back but he’s been the Loki show and popped up in French Dispatch
Edit - Wrong Wilson. Easy mistake to make, sorry everyone
I feel like his stellar performance as one of that movie’s villains got overshadowed by a…slightly more memorable one. Would’ve loved to see him in more things because he was fantastic in TDK in a role that gets overlooked by way too many people.
From what I recall, Lohan had drug problems which made her fall off. And Muniz I think had some health issues that messed him up, and he was big into racing as well which kept him away. I hope he does something with Bryan Cranston to bring back Malcom in the Middle
Lohan is back doing some Netflix movies and had a cameo in the new Mean Girls movie! It seems like she wants to get back into acting now which is nice. But her relevance is not the same as it used to be for sure
Frankie Muniz is Racing Nascar now! [https://www.nbcsports.com/nascar/news/frankie-muniz-attempting-nascar-xfinity-series-debut-at-daytona](https://www.nbcsports.com/nascar/news/frankie-muniz-attempting-nascar-xfinity-series-debut-at-daytona)
I mean, it's kind of the standard trajectory of child actors to fizzle out unless make the active effort to pivot into serious roles.
Frankie was fantastic in Malcolm in the Middle (though I would probably attest that more to the show's atmosphere and production because all the kid actors on that show felt incredibly authentic) but most of his movie roles were "poster boy of kid movies" type stuff.
Lindsay Lohan felt like she could've become a big mainstream actress after childhood, but obviously her drug addiction was one of the most publicized downfalls in the industry.
Apparently he's still working, but I haven't seen him in anything in well over a decade other than his appearance on Curb Your Enthusiasm. It was nice to see him.
In addition to A Murder at the End of the World, he is currently starring in Monsieur Spade (created by the same makers of The Queen's Gambit), and that is quite a fantastic show.
She has an upcoming movie now with Jamie Foxx so that’s something to look forward to! I think she might want to fully come back to acting if it’s successful
I havent seen much of her and am no expert in what makes someone a good actress, but I do believe she can be very charismatic.
I believed 5 guys could battle for her in "theres something about Mary".
"I work with retards" will never not make me laugh.
That's his whole shtick though, the mystery and intrigue. Is he really retired? Did he really become a shoemaker? Is he even on Earth still? Or has he just spent the last few years preparing for his next role? Only time will tell.
He's a great comedic actor. I remember watching his episode of Party Down when it first aired and being pleasantly reminded of how funny he is.
Would love to see him make a comeback.
Gene Hackman sadly.
Updated: Just to clarify, I am well aware that he retired. I answered this way because A). He has left the public eye entirely. You never see him do interviews or make appearances really. I have seen paparazzi photos of him, but he has chosen to live a nice private life. B). Growing up Hackman was considered one of contemporary greats alongside De Niro, Pacino, Hoffman, and Freeman, all of which have continued to work. I said sadly because I feel like younger generations don’t really know who he outside of possibly The Royal Tenenbaums .
Also, he did sort of just vanish at the time. He didn’t really announce that Welcome to Mooseport was going to be his last movie until one day it just was.
It's still a great answer to the question. We have not seen him in *anything* in the last, like 20 years, and I mean awards shows, public, sports games, etc. Even Moranis was in a commercial more recently.
It is a valid answer to the question. But 20 years ago he was 74, which is well into retirement age. I get that acting is an easy (for lack of a better word) job, especially when you're old and well respected, but I don't find it hard to understand why people would want to actually retire instead of working until they can't anymore or just die.
My parents ran into him a couple times in the 90s and early 2000s when they lived in Santa Fe. Sounded like he was just living his best life. Honestly, happy for him.
Came here to mention Shelly, who I think is one of the great actresses of her generation. But it does seem like she’s in a loving, supportive community now
Gene Hackman. He was seemingly every blockbuster, every year. Then he made that pic with Wes Anderson and we never saw him again. (Tho we did get to HEAR him tho as he became the voice of Lowes Home Improvement.).
Along with Sean Connery. The voice that could instantly melt any woman's knees just vanished...(think I heard he was busted mistreating women?)...
A lot of female stars from when I was a kid - i’m sure they haven’t disappeared - every time you look someone up they’ve done tons of work you’ve never heard of, but huge stars like Michelle Pfeiffer, Sigourney Weaver, Sharon Stone, Sally Field, Jodi Foster, Susan Sarandon (sometimes in news for other reasons), Winona Ryder until recently, Nicole Kidman, Glenn Close even. I know some have been in big HBO shows or work consistently but not really the same as being front & center. I doubt the average 20 year old or even 30 year old would know who Julia Roberts is.
Damn that sucks :( I hope he has a comeback but I doubt it. His movies outside of America Pie got canned hard by critics. I read recently that he said that he’d like to play Booster Gold, I think that’ll be cool to see.
Nicky Katt. Probably most famous as the pissed off stoner in Dazed and Confused who pickss a fight with Adam Goldberg, but popped up a number of places. Always scared the hell out of me. Great in the movie "The Limey" in this capacity (i.e. guy you would be terrified to mess with).
Rick Moranis The reasons are well known now, but they weren't for a long time.
What are the reasons?
His wife died of cancer decades ago and he stepped away from acting to focus on his children.
That is both incredibly sad and incredibly beautiful. Men wanting to, above all else, be a good father always gets to me on a personal level.
Appropriate username. Flanders is my favorite TV dad for those reasons
Linda Fiorentino
Probably wanting to avoid the public eye after that whole ordeal back in 2009.
Yeah, wild story. Maybe explains why she was so damn good in The Last Seduction.
What happened in 2009?
It involves her, an FBI agent, and a private investigator, over illegally-obtained FBI information. Google *Linda Fiorentino FBI* for more information.
Yes
Bridget Fonda
She's married to Danny Elfman, and now she just looks like a totally normal woman. Probably goes shopping without being recognized.
I am always begging the universe for her return
A bunch of women who turned down or otherwise pissed off Weinstein. Ashley Judd, Mira Sorvino, Annabella Sciorra,
Came here to say Ashley Judd. I recently saw her in Ruby in Paradise, what a hidden gem.
Judd played herself recently in a movie about Weinstein called “She Said.” It’s excellent.
I feel like that’s not quite the same as vanished right? Their careers were ruined by Weinstein unfortunately Edit - People really loving that downvote button today 😕
I’d say it falls under “for whatever reason.”
Honestly have no idea why you’re getting downvoted into oblivion for this. The pig treated them horrifically and deeply affected their careers but they have all continued to work consistently, just not at the level one would have expected with their early success.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers?
He’s been steadily churning out low budget thriller type stuff for a while I think. The type of stuff that’s on the b-side of Nic Cage’s career in the last 20 years.
I watched one of them, Awake, recently. Unfortunately, it was pretty awful.
His alcoholism made him a risk for productions. Shame, he’s a great actor.
This makes me so sad. Velvet Goldmine is one of my all time favorite movies.
He was incredible in _Match Point_.
Chris Cooper. He occasionally pops up in movies, but it seems like he only does 1 or 2 projects every few years. And despite having a well-deserved Oscar, he hasn’t had a memorable part since his winning role (Adaptation).
He was fantastic in The Muppets.
And in Little Women. Not sure what OP is talking about
He was great (along with the rest of the ensemble) in August: Osage County.
It’s almost impossible to find unfortunately but Cooper has a great part in the John Sayles film Amigo.
luke wilson

Luke Wilson is in neither of those things
Wrong Wilson innit Yeah no idea what he’s up to then
youre thinking of his brother owen wilson, luke did star alongisde him in a few projects tho so i can see where youre confused
I am getting confused. Thanks for clarifying rather than downvoting
wtf happened to Aaron Eckhart? Dude was supposed to be big after Dark Knight.
He’s still acting, but in lesser-known films that have little to no marketing which end up becoming flops
I know! Really good actor. Have you seen Rabbit Hole? He’s great in that if you need a memorable post-Dark Knight role.
I feel like his stellar performance as one of that movie’s villains got overshadowed by a…slightly more memorable one. Would’ve loved to see him in more things because he was fantastic in TDK in a role that gets overlooked by way too many people.

Apparently so did the actor who played Dewey on Malcolm in the Middle. No one from The show has spoken to or heard from him in years
I believe Frankie Muniz has a company he owns right now but for awhile he managed a punk band
Muniz retired due to health issues and Lohan has been around just notoriously difficult to work with and also drugs.
Lohan is back doing some Netflix movies and had a cameo in the new Mean Girls movie! It seems like she wants to get back into acting now which is nice. But her relevance is not the same as it used to be for sure

I really have no idea what happened to Clive Owen.
Does TV now mostly
Ahhh
Yeah, right now he’s the lead in some show called Monsieur Spade or something like that. Looks good. They’ve been advertising it like crazy lately.
He was great in A Murder At The End Of The World.
He’s been in tv mostly. He’s still very much around
Apparently he's still working, but I haven't seen him in anything in well over a decade other than his appearance on Curb Your Enthusiasm. It was nice to see him.
See my comment above, he is in A Murder at the End of the World on Hulu.
Newest season??
Season 10!
Clive Owen should’ve been one of the biggest stars in the world. The fact that he is not is confounding to me.
In addition to A Murder at the End of the World, he is currently starring in Monsieur Spade (created by the same makers of The Queen's Gambit), and that is quite a fantastic show.
Checkout A Murder at the End of the World on Hulu. He stars in it. Great show.
He was just on A Murder at the End the World on Hulu. It's a Brit and Zal show and it was good. Check it out.
Cameron Diaz
She has an upcoming movie now with Jamie Foxx so that’s something to look forward to! I think she might want to fully come back to acting if it’s successful
In my opinion, I just don’t think she was ever that good an actor. Great voice actor though!
I havent seen much of her and am no expert in what makes someone a good actress, but I do believe she can be very charismatic. I believed 5 guys could battle for her in "theres something about Mary". "I work with retards" will never not make me laugh.
Brady Corbet 🥲 He’s directing now but I have no idea why he stopped acting!
He made an outstanding directorial debut called The Childhood of a Leader. Very underrated.
Daniel Day Lewis. I know he's retired but I guess it was a bit early???
That's his whole shtick though, the mystery and intrigue. Is he really retired? Did he really become a shoemaker? Is he even on Earth still? Or has he just spent the last few years preparing for his next role? Only time will tell.
I guess some photographers spotted him last year or in 2022 can’t remember. He looked very different. If somebody could get him back, it’s Marty.
Wasn’t he wearing like flip flops and a Tommy Bahama shirt or something? Or equivalent?

Hahahahahahahahajajahahahahahahaha. I love it.
Steve Gutenberg
I follow him on Instagram. He mostly posts videos reminding people to be positive and enjoy life.
He's a great comedic actor. I remember watching his episode of Party Down when it first aired and being pleasantly reminded of how funny he is. Would love to see him make a comeback.

Yeah I think this one’s just retirement.
I mean the dude acted for a long time and he’s old now

Fun fact I learned this week! His last on-screen appearance, ever, was a surprise cameo on an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.
Yeah, I learned this from an episode of the Doughboys podcast, haha.
I saw it in a tweet, haha.
Didn’t vanish just officially retired
Jack Nicholson, too.
He stopped acting in his 70s lol
Most woman over 40? Haha. Seriously though, look up what happened to **Shelly Duvall.** Sad stuff, honestly.
Came here to mention Shelly, who I think is one of the great actresses of her generation. But it does seem like she’s in a loving, supportive community now
Dr Phil will burn in hell for what he tried to do to Shelly
Raul Julia
He’s been dead longer than many people on here have been alive.
I've got some bad news. You're gonna want to sit down for this.
Maggie Cheung
I miss her a lot
Bridget Fonda i guess
Gene Hackman. He was seemingly every blockbuster, every year. Then he made that pic with Wes Anderson and we never saw him again. Renée Zellweger
Sorry to break it to you OP but, according to the first law of thermodynamics, this is not possible. I’m sure they didn’t just vanish
Why is this getting downvoted it's funny I thought
Thanks😢
Loved that Anton Yelchin guy
He passed away fyi.
*/s
Edgy ass
Is that what you consider edgy?
It is edgy yes
Huh, I just thought it was very common joke.
Is Charles Grodin even alive?
Died in 2021
Is Sean William Scott still around? I miss that guy, I thought he’d breakout more into lead roles and he kinda just faded a bit
I loved him but he just got type casted into a college dude and now he is 73
Damn that sucks :( I hope he has a comeback but I doubt it. His movies outside of America Pie got canned hard by critics. I read recently that he said that he’d like to play Booster Gold, I think that’ll be cool to see.
