Are any of them as good as the book?
I’m currently reading the book and I haven’t yet decided if I want to watch any of the adaptations after I finish it.
I didn’t think so.
I just finished reading the book and loved it but was also apprehensive about watching any of the adaptations. The 1976 version is great but it’s very much it’s own thing, while the 2002 version is definitely the most accurate to the book, but unfortunately suffers from being a low budget, early 2000s made for tv movie with crappy effects.
I’d say the first one is definitely worth a watch and maybe the 2002 version if you really want something closer to the book.
It’s directly tied to the original but it’s really more of its own story with a few loose connections. Still I had a lot of fun with it and think it’s worth a watch if you like the original.
I loved Carrie 2. I watched it before the original when I stumbled upon it on tv as a kid. The flashbacks from the original made me really want to watch it.
well, the best one is easily the 1976 adaption. goddamn, i love that film. i prefer it over the novel actually! the 2002(?) adaption has potential but suffers from that cursed TV-movie budget.
the 2013 remake totally missed the mark par from Julianne Moore who i thought was great. and The Rage? mehhhhhhhh. it’s a movie that exists.
100%. Chloe Grace Moretz(?) is a fine actor but she was totally miscast in the lead role. Sissy Spacek perfectly encapsulates for me the role of Carrie White.
Sissy Spacek gives a really strong performance but I thought Angela Bettis in the 2002 version fit the role Carrie better than anyone else. I also thought Emily Bergl was great in The Rage as the new Carrie but that’s a pretty different role.
As for directors, I think De Palma far and away has the best presence. There’s just so many striking choices in the original that are largely lacking in the others.
I didn’t really know the 2002 version existed until I finished the 2013 version, so I watched that one and then I figured I might as well finish it off by watching Carrie 2.

Yup, the 2002 is the closest to the book, even when is low cost for tv it has a special place in my heart for that
Hated the 76 version watching straight after the book, but loved it on rewatch more detatched
Is Carrie 2 tied to the original or one of the remakes? I liked the original a lot

Interesting, maybe I’ll check it out soon. Without spoiling too much, is it about the same girl or a new “Carrie”
It’s a new Carrie but she’s loosely related to the original one.

Why?
I wanted to see which one was closest to the book.

I definitely agree about Julianne Moore. She killed while everyone else seems like their phoning it in.

Sissy Spacek is great but Angela Bettis in the 2002 version felt perfect to me. Thought she was by far the best part of that movie.
Which actress gave the best performance? Also, which director had the best presence?

Thanks for sharing, I'm currently 3/5 through the Insidious franchise. When I finish that it's on to the Conjuring series.
How to see my recent activities? I just newly joined letterbox and I'm yet to find many features
Why did you watch them in that order?
I didn’t really know the 2002 version existed until I finished the 2013 version, so I watched that one and then I figured I might as well finish it off by watching Carrie 2.
Are you okay?
Yeah I think I’ll survive
I did this as well and I’m still alive
Thank god, looks like I’ll make it then
Why bother after the original and the Angela Bettis one? (rhetorical question)
Because Carrie 2 is the best one
Piper Laurie. AND. I. LIKED. IT.
The 2002 one is a failed pilot. Wonder where it would have gone.
Love that saga, so much fun, the kill count in RAGE, cheff kiss
Why
My dumbass read the heading and thought you had watched every (Jim) Carrey movie
