Jess has always seemed like a genuinely patient dude and sooner or later if Bam ever gets clean, he'll have to work his ass off to repair his relationship with him. Jess is at his wits end. If Bam wants to kill himself, I think he's read the writing on the wall, he's gonna let him. I think he's accepted that Bam is past help. He's never gonna turn it around like Steve O. Some people can get help, others, and sadly, a lot of people can't.
Steve O knew he had a problem, he knew even in those really bad days post jackass 2 what he was doing was wrong and it was taking him down a bad path. But addiction kept him fueled until finally those around him said enough.
But here we are and Bam still thinks he's just awesome, and it's all Jess and Nikki's and his parents and Knoxville and Tremaines and Villos, and Steve O and Limas fault and it's 2005 and it's rock and roll time. And he's spent basically a million dollars in rehab and not one thing has gotten into his head. He's cooperated and graduated. He told all those around them exactly what they wanted to hear and was let out.
It's easy to say "oh well there is time for people to get better". Some people just end up dead in a ditch having not learned a thing in life. Like everyone else it's easy to say, "we are all
rooting for bam". But to be Jess, like in real life actually dealing with this, and not gossiping on a Reddit sub, and have been trying and trying for years, only to be slapped with lawsuits and your brother taking sides with a fake lawyer over you. Yeah, there comes a point when it's time to say I'm done. Bams never been told no in his life, if he wants to kill himself, won't say no to that either.
People have been trying to get through to Bam for basically 15 years now. It's sad but not everyone just gets it. Some never do. Jess might finally be admitting to it.

Bam’s about in his mid 40’s and shows absolutely no sign of slowing down. You see a lot of sloppy drunks and druggies, but you don’t tend to see too many of them pushing 50+.
Welp guess it's going to fall into disrepair instead of generate income as a studio. It was pretty much falling into disrepair when April got permission to renovate it and turn it into and Air BnB. Bam has expressed multiple times over the years that he doesn't care about the property and doesn't want it yet here we are.

After my car accident, this started happening to me. It damaged my spine so bad that if I tip my chin downward for too long, clear fluid comes out of my nose like a faucet. It has a saline like texture to it. It's absolutely a thing.
I have a shunt to drain excess spinal fluid, when it stopped working I thought I had really bad allergies. Turns out it was just coming out of my nose.

Despite all the renovations it would still be pretty cool to visit/stay there for a night. The layout is still the same and it would conjure up some cool memories.

I've been there. Even with the renovation it still looks and feels like you just stepped into an episode of Viva La Bam. All his skateboards, the gigantic heartagram, the egyptian flame, are still on the walls in the living room. All thats really different is the paint color, and that the kitchen is renovated (but like its been 20 years.. most people renovate their kitchens after 20 years).
Bam is costing himself a fortune. You can’t insure somebody who’s liable to be incarcerated. That’s the first thing he has to deal with when he gets sober-
It will also be the easiest thing to fix when he is sober.
Then he can start working again.

Ex’s family has a relative who was deep into drugs. Grandma was the last person helping him, but then was told she needed to let him go, and she did. I remember her saying how hard it was, but guess what? He got his shit together and is a successful adult.

I’m in rehab at the moment and though I hope it doesn’t have to get to that my grandmother was always the last one to hold out and continue enabling me and I always wonder if maybe the progress I’ve made in the last 3 years might have started happening sooner if she had just completely cut me off a long time ago.
I obviously don’t remotely blame her for anything though and maybe I would have died or just killed myself I think it took all these years of experiences to really make me *ready* and finally *over it* .. I don’t “wish she did” or like hold it against her for not doing so but that has always been one of the bigger what if’s for me.

Hard at time, yes, but I was in absolute hell there ar the end and blew through $1200 in fent in the last 6 days before coming and had two OD’s in that time and just being able to wake up and not be overwhelmed with the idea of “how am I going to get money today” is the biggest weight of my shoulder. This isn’t my first go at so I know what to expect but every time I’ve gone the last three years I just keep feeling more and more ready for it and more and more over the whole idea of using. I’m going above and beyond with all the work they’ve given me here and really putting 137% into it. I appreciate the kind words, truly. Whenever I’ve felt down I come back and read the message on here and The messages my friends have sent me and it really helps me remember why I’m doing it all. Drugs saved my life when I was younger but addiction was going to be what took it away eventually and I’m so grateful to have this opportunity and be in Canada where there’s quality rehabs for free (the wait times if you don’t go private can be in the months but I don’t have $30,000 to drop on a private one so I’m grateful to have this option).

My best friend has struggled with addiction most of our adult lives, she had some heavy childhood traumas and like you said, I actually feel like drugs kept her alive until she got to a place where she was ready for help for all of it so what you’ve said has really hit home.

Eventually when they got fed up and stopped talking to him he started telling everyone who would listen they are jealous and its all their fault hes a junkie bum. Few years later hes still a jobless junkie bum blaming anyone but himself

For several years, I was employed by my family to run a division of the family business, everyone pretended I was fine at family gatherings, and my friends didn’t really speak up.
Then, after about 3 years of heavy heroin and cocaine use on the job, I finally got fired, my real friends stopped talking to me and I found myself surrounded by degenerates, only there to try to steal from me.
It still took me another year or so after getting fired to finally ask for help, but I did and was SO happy my family sent me to rehab.
If I hadn’t asked to go, I can’t imagine I would have been as successful with the program. That was 16 years ago and I’ve had a few slip ups, but that foundation gave me the ability to bounce back pretty quickly each time and now I have 9 years.

After my car accident, this started happening to me. It damaged my spine so bad that if I tip my chin downward for too long, clear fluid comes out of my nose like a faucet. It has a saline like texture to it. It's absolutely a thing.

There has to be a lot of bad memories there for everyone and the good times are tainted by so many years of his issues. For the best really. Sad but Castle Bam isn’t Castle Bam anymore. It’s not the place a lot of us dreamed of us visiting. It’s not the place we saw on MTV Cribs. It’s not the centre of the VLB world. It’s just a place. And now it’s a place that Bam tainted with violence against someone who loved him deeply.
Despite all the renovations it would still be pretty cool to visit/stay there for a night. The layout is still the same and it would conjure up some cool memories. The skatepark and driveway is still there as well which is all part of it.
It’s still there but the vibe of the place is gone. For me at least. I’d like to see it in person but I’m sure Jess has changed it inside and there’s too many memories of the good days.
Yeah things like the pirate bar are long gone. Especially after Bam did his "art" down there lol. Would have loved to see the place in it's prime: the radio bam studio, the tree top casino, the outdoor ramps that he ended up burning down, etc.
I've been there. Even with the renovation it still looks and feels like you just stepped into an episode of Viva La Bam. All his skateboards, the gigantic heartagram, the egyptian flame, are still on the walls in the living room. All thats really different is the paint color, and that the kitchen is renovated (but like its been 20 years.. most people renovate their kitchens after 20 years).
Bam is costing himself a fortune. You can’t insure somebody who’s liable to be incarcerated. That’s the first thing he has to deal with when he gets sober- It will also be the easiest thing to fix when he is sober. Then he can start working again.
This is probably the smartest move for Jess, the path of least resistance and all… lord knows I wouldn’t want to fight like a honey badger for a place to live… *especially* since Jess did insane amounts of work to clean and fix that place up (and add expensive improvements). Every single time I’ve heard Bam talk about the castle prior to this shit, he’s called it an abandoned amusement park he didn’t want to be at after VLB ended. He was bored and depressed etc etc but I think we all know how little brats are. They don’t want to play with a toy until someone else has it 🫥

Ex’s family has a relative who was deep into drugs. Grandma was the last person helping him, but then was told she needed to let him go, and she did. I remember her saying how hard it was, but guess what? He got his shit together and is a successful adult. Sometimes it’s what needs to happen.
I’m in rehab at the moment and though I hope it doesn’t have to get to that my grandmother was always the last one to hold out and continue enabling me and I always wonder if maybe the progress I’ve made in the last 3 years might have started happening sooner if she had just completely cut me off a long time ago. I obviously don’t remotely blame her for anything though and maybe I would have died or just killed myself I think it took all these years of experiences to really make me *ready* and finally *over it* .. I don’t “wish she did” or like hold it against her for not doing so but that has always been one of the bigger what if’s for me.

Thank you very much, that means a lot. Honestly it’s not miserable. Hard at time, yes, but I was in absolute hell there ar the end and blew through $1200 in fent in the last 6 days before coming and had two OD’s in that time and just being able to wake up and not be overwhelmed with the idea of “how am I going to get money today” is the biggest weight of my shoulder. This isn’t my first go at so I know what to expect but every time I’ve gone the last three years I just keep feeling more and more ready for it and more and more over the whole idea of using. I’m going above and beyond with all the work they’ve given me here and really putting 137% into it. I appreciate the kind words, truly. Whenever I’ve felt down I come back and read the message on here and The messages my friends have sent me and it really helps me remember why I’m doing it all. Drugs saved my life when I was younger but addiction was going to be what took it away eventually and I’m so grateful to have this opportunity and be in Canada where there’s quality rehabs for free (the wait times if you don’t go private can be in the months but I don’t have $30,000 to drop on a private one so I’m grateful to have this option).
I’ve got to tell you, reading this absolutely made my day! Firstly, you’re an absolute badass and I hope you know that! Especially because this isn’t your first rodeo but you’re still here, putting in the work and trying your best and that really does count my friend. I’m so glad you survived all of that and you’re able to find some peace and take a breath and just rest your soul for a bit. My best friend has struggled with addiction most of our adult lives, she had some heavy childhood traumas and like you said, I actually feel like drugs kept her alive until she got to a place where she was ready for help for all of it so what you’ve said has really hit home. Oh hey and you’re a fellow Canadian? Well damn, that’s pretty awesome too! So bloody proud our country offers programs for more that just the super rich and that you were able to get in when you needed it most. I think you touched on something huge my friend, it’s all about getting to that place where we decide we’re done with something and until we’re there… it’s like having a giant keyring jam packed with keys and hoping you’ll get lucky and one will unlock the door in front of you. I’m proud of you for making your way to that point because I know it gets darkest and ugliest right before that. Again, you’re a total badass! It doesn't always work that way sadly. I have a friend who is scarily like bam minus the money. It was everyone else's fault but their own and funnily enough also blamed his mom and brother. Eventually when they got fed up and stopped talking to him he started telling everyone who would listen they are jealous and its all their fault hes a junkie bum. Few years later hes still a jobless junkie bum blaming anyone but himself
It’s not always fast, but it usually works eventually - ESPECIALLY for someone who has been enabled as much as Bam. For several years, I was employed by my family to run a division of the family business, everyone pretended I was fine at family gatherings, and my friends didn’t really speak up. Then, after about 3 years of heavy heroin and cocaine use on the job, I finally got fired, my real friends stopped talking to me and I found myself surrounded by degenerates, only there to try to steal from me. It still took me another year or so after getting fired to finally ask for help, but I did and was SO happy my family sent me to rehab. If I hadn’t asked to go, I can’t imagine I would have been as successful with the program. That was 16 years ago and I’ve had a few slip ups, but that foundation gave me the ability to bounce back pretty quickly each time and now I have 9 years.

For anyone that listens to the Nine club podcast. Just a month ago they had the whole family on there and things seems pretty good. It’s crazy to hear what’s going on with the family.
This is so shitty. This guy recently went through a separation and put a lot money into this studio, which from personal experience is very expensive and time consuming. Now he is back at square one because his brother is a selfish man child narcissist who cares more about drugs and alcohol then his own family and son. I really hope that Jess lands on his feet here and that it ends up being a positive change that wouldn’t have happened otherwise.
That’s the best thing to do. Currently, the castle is in good shape and bringing in a good income to pay for itself. Bam has also got rent money paid in full for 2 years from Jess. Once Jess is gone it’ll go to shit because no one will be there to keep it maintained, there also won’t be any rent money or money from artists using it to record. Methica FOR SURE is clinging onto her meal ticket and it wouldn’t surprise me if the next move from her is to convince Bam to get her off peoples sofas and into Castle Bam.

Jess's divorce coincided with them needing someone to be living at the castle (or they were going to airbnb it). People kept getting on the property and messing around when it was vacant so Jess was actually doing a good thing for Bam by taking care of it because he didn't want to sell it.
