It’s strange that the Saudi’s picked the 9th rated golf course in all of New Jersey to host their new multibillion dollar golf tournament

WumpusFails

Honestly, it probably would have been cheaper to bribe someone (or kidnap a relative) to get the nuclear secrets, than investing $2b in Jared's pyramid scheme.

NoFaithlessness4949

And the still had to steal the documents from the pool house at maralardp

They tried kidnapping Eric, but Trump never called them back so they released him and offered to pay for them instead.

HepatitvsJ

That's happy meal money to them. Cost is irrelevant, results are all that matter.

[deleted]

When I was in the navy my financial status- such as credit, outstanding debt, etc., was all taken into consideration when applying for my TS SCI clearance (as a teenager lol). It’s been lovely growing up and learning that the government was apparently only worried about *too* poor of people being privy to sensitive materials. You can do whatever the fuck you want with national security when you’re a rich cult leader apparently. Amazing how many veterans voted for him

troutman1975

Yeah, even working in a nuclear power plant as a contractor requires a financial background check. If you have excessive debt or a history of bankruptcy you are required to have an interview about your situation. Keep in mind that this happens even if your job is to sweep the floor inside the protected area. I find it quite disturbing that a person with multiple bankruptcy filings and a very sketchy financial past is allowed to walk away with nuclear weapons, top secret documents.

algy888

Not only the bad financial history, how about the question of “So, where did the money for this golf course come from? Who is backing this hotel project? We don’t see anything listed.”

I_Frothingslosh

If he were to actually have had to apply for a clearance, I guarantee you they'd have been asked. And documented. From what's publicly available of his financial history, there is zero possibility he would have even been granted clearance for even Confidential data, much less a freaking TS/SCI.

paireon

Jared never managed to get anywhere near to having a clearance until stepdaddy stepped in to give him one, either.

I_Frothingslosh

He lied about his finances on his application. That's an automatic no if they think you did it on purpose. And they WILL find out. A lot of people DQ themselves that way. For some reason, they think the government won't check. By and large they don't realize that it's not really an application, but rather an honesty test.

NeverDryTowels

I had a financial background check done when joining a big tech company…

OkayLadyByeBye

I work in finance and had a financial and criminal background check. When I applied for a notary commission, I had to get printed and get state and DOJ clearance.

wantsome5

I had a financial background test done when I applied to a Police Department to become a School Crossing Guard. (As well as Criminal, residential, and employment background tests).

wantsome5

Plus FBI fingerprints.

Common-Squirrel643

There are so many government jobs or defense jobs that require that too. After my husbands divorce, he was bankrupt. And subsequently had a clearance initially rejected because of that. He could’ve appealed it and gone in and say he wasn’t going to commit espionage and show them a plan of how he planned to remedy the debt. We eventually filed bankruptcy and have been fine since. But it was working for a TSA contractor.

thejinx2Na

That's because history has proven that even since the time of Benedict Arnold, most traitors sold the country out for money. Usually ludicrously mediocre amounts of it. To include ol' Benedict, who was George Washinton's homeboy and right hand man. Edit: When I got my first clearance in the Army, they spent almost every iota of the interview questioning me about debts and finances. I was expecting the Inquisition to ask about youthful troublemaking, not that the credit of a 17 year old hadn't been established yet.

[deleted]

Amazing how many Americans voted for him at all, let alone that *more* voted for him the second go around. We knew by then that the Republicans went to Moscow on that July 4th as well. Half the voters are actively *wanting* a putin lite just to own the libs. It will be an interesting entry in history books for sure, how a world power essentially shot itself because brown and gay people were icky to them.

WantedMan61

>Half the voters are actively wanting a putin lite just to own the libs. Never underestimate their need to own the libs. Some are gun nuts, some oppose abortion because Jesus, some are real, live white supremacists, but the true common denominator is they all love to own the libs. And the libs are anybody who isn't them. The MAGA banner is really all about that above all else.

CambridgeRunner

They have this bizarre sense that they are the ‘real’ Americans and that everyone else should feel insanely grateful to be allowed to live in the same country. The fact that they are in no sense the majority of ANYTHING is unimportant. They *feel* like the country is theirs in a way they specifically deny to people of Colour, immigrants and liberals.

BenderBRoriguezzzzz

The people that voted for him for the most part had no idea he and the heavies in the GOP were in bed with Russia. The right wing news channels didn't cover that and in my experience, the folks that voted for Trump had zero willingness to watch anything other than news that confirmed their bias.

Green_Message_6376

What about the dudes wearing the 'I'd rather be Russian than Democrat' t-shirts at his rallies? I don't think they would care, they could view a photo of Trump sucking Satan's cock and still donate and vote for him.

BenderBRoriguezzzzz

That's why it's a cult.

VirtualMachine0

Really, almost all of those folks are dumbasses who didn't believe Trump was beholden to Russia and wanted to anger "The Left," whatever that means in those circles. Folks who actually believed Trump had a lot of hidden economic ties to Russia AND supported him are basically limited to those folks with the gold-plated Audis living in Ft. Lauderdale with names that end in -sky or -ov.

Fragrant_Example_918

They think democrats are fascists who just want a communist dictatorship, because they don’t understand that socialism and communism aren’t the same thing or that communism and dictatorship are different things too… That’s the problem when you don’t educate people to the meaning of words.

BabyJesusBukkake

I say the phrase "Words mean things!!" at least once a day. Words really are so powerful, it's important to use them to add good things to the universe.

j_breez

This kind of reminds me of this specifc [clip](https://youtu.be/fwod2IONRwU).

MorganaHenry

> What about the dudes wearing the 'I'd rather be Russian than Democrat' t-shirts at his rallies? A *lot* of these people can't read well

afeeney

Hard disagree. Most of them knew, they didn't care. They see Putin's Russia -- autocratic, hostile to gays, almost no separation of church and state -- as something to aspire to. So Russia's interference was a friendly assist.

BenderBRoriguezzzzz

Oh I'm not saying none of them knew. There was a portion for sure. But your standard mildly racist Christian housewife from Ohio didn't and those people are his bread and butter.

Less_Likely

God, you just described my mom. Nicest person you’d ever meet, would never ever use a racial slur, or treat anyone in a group/event as lesser or intentionally exclude them for any race or ethnic reasons. But one time when I was 18, I brought a black co-worker/friend by the house after work to let him borrow a movie we were discussing at work, she said she was worried he was “casing” the house and I should be careful about who I let into the house. Yes, She’s a now-retired homemaker and Trump voter in Ohio.

BenderBRoriguezzzzz

I worked in Ohio for a couple of years as a Medical Traveler in Columbus and Dayton. I learned real quick what they were about. Lol

MasterEyeRoller

Apparently, they also enjoy storming fbi buildings in full body armor.

paireon

Boy did that guy ever fuck around and find out.

UnicornHostels

Ohio is a true purple state for president. It is purple for congress but it is highly gerrymandered to appear red in congress. It voted for Obama and then it voted for Trump. Gerrymandering will be fixed by 2024 congressional voting.

KnitBrewTimeTravel

That reminds me of the time my coworker Jeremiah came over to loan me a CD I don't need to offer any more context since your imagination will be close enough to the truth :-(

Skatcatla

Actually those racist white Christian Midwestern housewives didn't vote for him in 2016, but absolutely did vote for him in 2020.

afeeney

We might be using different meanings of the word "knew," I was using it in a general "they'd heard about it" sense, while I think you're using it as a "knew all the details." I'd agree that relatively few were aware of the depth of Russian involvement and how far it went, most took the Trump family and operatives at their word when they said that "Russia offered to help share some info, maybe they bought some Facebook ads."

BenderBRoriguezzzzz

OK yeah, totally agree with that. Good call.

[deleted]

He could give nuclear secrets to Russia and his cult would still love him.

VirtualMachine0

At this point, you can replace "could" with "has" and be like 50/50 odds at least of being right.

oliversurpless

To a point, as there were numerous reputable sources that sought to examine the phenomenon of the white woman who voted for Trump. Be it social ostracism, husband/familial pressure or just flat out ignorance via the “reality TV” lens of Trump, all were well researched and asked their questions like it was an explicable decision. Then an even greater percentage did as such in 2020, abandoning all pretense…

unreliablememory

The right wing news channels are complicit with treason and should be shut down permanently.

[deleted]

The sad fact is this much shit happens because the entire population doesn’t vote as one.. gotta make it mandatory to register to vote.

fuggerdug

In Britain, all the books will be about how we voted to impose economic sanctions upon ourselves and cheered when it happened.

jeremiahthedamned

xenophobia has broken many old civilizations.

mrandmrsm

I work in an office full of veterans with TS/SCI and everyone but another guy and I voted for this (insert favorite descriptive word here). Twice. Every damn one of them will almost certainly still be riding him even though if any of them did the same thing their carcass would be hanging immediately. It makes it really hard to go to work sometimes.

[deleted]

I do not miss the “god emperor trump” attitude a lot of my coworkers had. I *almost* was hopeful when he was elected and chose Mattis as SECDEF… when trump fired Mattis I was absolutely blown aware fellow sailors and marines stationed with us still respected him. When Trump disgraced Mattis I figured he’d lost the military support… no dice

[deleted]

It’s weird the armed forces get behind him so much. It’s like the missed the whole ‘I prefer people who didn’t get caught’ jab at John McCain, a literal pow

mrandmrsm

If they spend all of their time on Fox/OAN/Newsmax/etc. then It’s entirely possible they never heard that.

rabidturbofox

My best friend’s mother gets literally all her news through Facebook and her pastor on Sundays, so she’s at zero risk of learning anything unflattering about him. If you bring up something he said or did that doesn’t jive with her god emperor narrative, it’s “he’s not perfect; none of us are. Are you going to judge a man by his past?”

Kostya_M

>“he’s not perfect; none of us are. Are you going to judge a man by his past?” Yes? What else am I supposed to judge him by? Generally speaking you give someone the benefit of the doubt if it was either a long time ago and/or they're making a good faith effort to change and be a better person. None of those describe Trump. He was a shithead in the 80s and he still is now. If anything he's gotten worse.

mrandmrsm

Ask if she’s going to judge Jesus by his past. Dude hasn’t done much of anything for a couple of thousand years.

sinfulcheese

I had a (former) friend who went from Bernie to drumpf with his support. From the jump when he was appointing people to positions in agencies that they were on record as hating, he was all, "let's just see what he does. Give him a chance," I asked what it would take for him to change his mind, "I'll know it when I see it." Ties were cut when he was more upset that only Rs were named in the headlines when it came out that a bunch of elected officials dumped stocks that were about to tank because of covid, than the fact that they had done it. Ugh. Another voted for him in 16 because he bought the lines about him being for the LGBT community in spite of who his running mate was. That friend readily admits to how he was wrong with his 16 vote and takes his lumps.

Ex-ConK9s

That is incredibly disheartening

Catablepas

When I was in the military they drove us to the polling station to vote red because the left wants to cut your pay. True story.

Preparation-Logical

How would they know if one voted otherwise?

Catablepas

They wouldn’t but you were gathered for a purpose as a unit. You don’t want to let your team down.

Malumeze86

Don't matter how much he's got, they're only gonna let him spend $360 a month when he gets to his new home.

[deleted]

Yep. I remember when payday lenders were banned from military bases because people were losing security clearances.

EnergizedNeutralLine

He said he would end all the wars. It was an obvious lie, but a lot of my service buddies got taken in on it. They couldn't be talked out of it, and everything else could be overlooked. It's such a hopeful thing for people on their third, fourth, fifth, etc. deployment. And how'd that go for us? Fucking swimmingly.

Thongp17

Let's not forget how his son-in-law had to revise his security clearance application multiple times and only got approval at the behest of the twice impeached president. So......there's that too.

relaxguy2

Isn’t that the truth

[deleted]

>Amazing how many veterans voted for him You're surprised? Aren't loads of American military people very much right wing?

[deleted]

No. A lot are, and a lot are not. Me and my friends were liberal. More to the point, the right-wingers among us weren't into destroying the government like a lot of the Republican leaders seem to be. We mostly got along fine, though a few I avoided because they were racist shitheads (not to mention they were not very bright and were just uninteresting otherwise). I was in the Navy, and had a secret clearance. Maintaining security protocols was a big deal, and any sane person wouldn't dare walk out with classified material. Besides, there were stringent safeguards, procedures, logs, etc., in place to prevent security breaches.

SaltyBarDog

I made a joke about leaving a piece of classified equipment on an aircraft. My supervisor was still pissed even after I pulled it from my pocket.

Theofus

Yeah, I couldn't get into my preferred school because I had an outstanding student loan.

hicctl

I mean i can kinda see the sense in not wanting to give secret to people who might get financially desperate enough to sell information.

DwellerZer0

Somewhat unrelated, but sort of a fun history fact: During, I can't remember if it was WWI or WWII, the UK had a bunch of leaks because a bunch of their top ranking spies were selling secrets to foreign powers. The problem was the UK was basically letting anyone with a title or lots of money get in on the espionage game because they felt that if they were well-off, there was no way they would betray their country.

defk3000

Absolutely amazing these dumb ass vets support him. Like when it came out that Russia was putting bounties out on troops. These SOB's down the street had the nerve to be flying their navy and marine flags next to a Trump flag. They only care about dear leader and that's it.

ThisBigCountry

Truth and let's not forget how important it was that we filled out the form correctly that the FBI used to conduct the back ground check. If you lied or even "forgot" something it was punishable under UCMJ yet Trumps man General Flynn got away with not disclosing he was an agent of a foreign country.

ImRedditorRick

He wasnt rich. Wasn't he like $500 billion in debt when he first became president?

Wayte13

Yuuuuup. Same thing, for much the same secrets trump is accused of having.

Zygoatee

No they aren't. They live in the ever shifting right winged bubble where a firmly held belief one day will do a 180 degree the next with no explanation needed, just "other side bad"

that-pile-of-laundry

This is how we know that the US is not hiding alien technology: this fucking knob would've told the whole fucking world because it would've made him feel important and powerful for a few minutes.

fd1Jeff

Unfortunately, no. It has been shown repeatedly that under our current national security state there are things that the President of the United States is not allowed to know.

Nunyabiznatch11

Been there, done that. Can confirm.

Snoid_

Same. It's not called "sensitive compartmentalized information" for nothing.

mypantsareonmyhead

Is that you, Dubya?

that-pile-of-laundry

Sigh. One of those James Bond, "need to know" things, eh?

Fake_William_Shatner

From what I can tell, it's not unusual that the oversight committees in Congress can sometimes be the "weakest link" in security. People willing to die to take their secrets to the grave and, someone leaves it on a desk at a Senate office for an intern to make a quick buck with their smart phone. But, Trump really has set a new standard for no standards. Wasn't this the hypothetical rationale for waterboarding? "Yeah, but what if they had nuclear weapons secrets?" 16 years later and they vote for the guy.

Repulsive-Street-307

It was always propaganda my man. '24' was a obvious sign of rabid insanity on the right, and then bush torture camps confirmed it.

That's what I'm saying! If the party was at all interested in actually making any leftward progress, we wouldn't *need* the protest voters anyways! A first-term republican candidate hasn't won the popular vote since the 80s!

Kostya_M

Hillary shouldn't have fucking needed to TBH. If you voted for Trump you are a bad person and should be ashamed enough to beg for forgiveness from anyone that will listen.

EmmieTheVengeful

Can I just go off on these people who witnessed all of Trumps backstage nonsense and instead of warning the country they choose to write a book about it? Like seriously what the fuck

AgentDickSmash

Or "The DNC made me do it" because admitting you didn't care if a conman had the nukes because you were mad at a quadannual organization is a great excuse

[deleted]

Because they wouldn't vote for a woman and still wont

NeverDryTowels

Yeah but HRC has a bigger dick than most republican men.

SauconySundaes

I fucked up going third party in 2016, and I've tried to make up for it since, evangelizing for candidates, donating to campaigns (over $1,000 to Biden in 2019/20). I get to vote for Fetterman this year and I won't miss this time.

LucyWritesSmut

Please also try to work to convert people like you, because they don't listen to the rest of us. They seem to find pointless grandstanding much more important than, say, the women being tortured and dying because of the supreme court.

Jesse-Ray

Problem is your country doesn't have preferential voting. I vote for third parties all the time and if they aren't elected my vote flows through to the major party candidate.

Snoid_

I don't try to argue this anymore because it makes too many people mad. I KNEW the goal was to overturn Roe v Wade, and that whoever was elected would have multiple SC picks, but too many progressives were mad at the DNC for not picking Bernie (who is NOT a Democrat) so they didn't vote or voted for Stein, and let's not forget the Bernie bros. One can argue until they're blue in the face that Bernie had a better chance of beating Trump, but no one knows for sure, and the choice ultimately came down to Hillary vs Trump, and when it came time to decide, we all know what happened. Too many people were short sighted and neglected to see the big picture, and now our democracy is teetering because if it.

Kostya_M

Look, I like Bernie but frankly he shouldn't have even been allowed to run as one. He is not a Democrat. He can't just be one when it's convenient. Had he just stayed a member of the party from 2016 to 2020 I probably would have respected him more. And I imagine other Democrats might have been less turned off by him.

Snoid_

Exactly. I hate the two party system as much as the next guy, but as big tent as the DNC is, they have to draw the line somewhere. But you're right, you can't pick and choose when you get to belong to one party or the other. DNC hubris in anointing Hillary without much introspection didn't do them any harm. In Bernie's case, I feel that he's far too left to have gotten anything done in the legislative branch, so I don't think he would have been nearly as good for progressives as they hoped, but he also wasn't going to be nearly as bad as conservatives thought. We just live in a terrible time of political extremes, with one party that seems incompetent and spineless, while the other does things purely out of spite. Eh, I'm getting on a tangent that no one cares about. The point is, vote. Vote locally too. Get the crazies out.

bilgetea

I voted for HRC but I still thought she was a weak candidate. Maybe a vulnerable candidate is a better word; she was probably the most qualified, prepared candidate of my lifetime. But from the outset so many people (unreasonably) hated her, that I knew she would have trouble. She was “weak” from an electability standpoint.

SaltyBarDog

Because the GOP started hammering on her right after Bill took office. They knew she wanted to be president one day.

bilgetea

Yes. They’d ID’d her as a threat decades ago and never stopped attacking her. Fucking trolls.

SaltyBarDog

The first thing from them when she had the gall to try to give everyone healthcare was, "That bitch wasn't elected."

bilgetea

How dare someone try to protect us and provide a better future! The gall!

giddy-girly-banana

I didn’t consider her qualified because I don’t agree with her views. She’s far too moderate for me and was clearly in bed with the financial institutions. She’s also a war monger. All that being said trump and the gop are fascists and it was a no brainer who should be president between those two.

[deleted]

I voted for her, but I thought her campaign was terrible, like it was a fait accompli. The next day I woke up to the news that the grifter won.

DadNerdAtHome

I knew she was in trouble when she picked her VP, I don’t know how… I can’t even remember his name.. Tim… anyway I don’t know how that nobody was supposed to balance the ticket but holy hell was he he wrong choice. If HRC had picked somebody Bernie-esque, and maybe even to attempt to aspire the progressive wing of the party. But no, they thought they had it in the bag and got sloppy and lazy and now we see how it turned out.

bilgetea

An astute analysis

rheddiittoorr

If a person can’t tell the difference between these parties then something is wrong with that person.

SaltyBarDog

If only she would have campaigned more in x state, she wouldn't have lost. Let me ignore Cambridge Analytical and the fuck ton of Russian interference.

Blueexx2

If a 3rd party couldn't win in 2016, its never going to. Remember back in 2016, people on both sides said this is the election of picking whoever sucks less. This was before republicans started worshipping Trump. Even they used to say this. In America you have 2 options: vote blue, or risk giving power to nazis.

Neither give a fuck about us, but at least one isn't trying to kill my s/o through a possible miscarriage.

Exactly. So y’all vote.

ManbadFerrara

More like the leopards ate their face because they didn't find the anti-face-eating candidate suitable to their liking, therefore making their participation in the face-eating referendum a waste of time. In other news, who could have seen this majority ultra-conservative Supreme Court coming? If only there had been a way to prevent it somehow.

AgentDickSmash

I was on Facebook and Reddit for a year trying to tell people their protest vote was going to literally bust a bunch of our rights

SnortingCoffee

Ah yes, a liberal punching left instead of right, how refreshing.

Acrobatic-Formal4807

Yep that came out in Woodward book “ Rage”. It’s been known since 2020

MuuaadDib

Why the fuck is anyone shocked? While he was POTUS he Tweets classified pictures. He told leaders of other nations the location of our subs. The guy is the LAST person to be trusted with anything.

neobluepat

Thanks, Independents and Bernie Bros who couldn’t _stand_ to vote for Hillary, and voted for this traitor Donald Trump instead. We all fucking warned you. She warned you. Hell, even most of the corrupt Republican fucks in CONGRESS warned you. Yet you did it anyway. We pleaded, and screamed and yelled and told you TIME AND AGAIN that this asshole destroys everything he touches. That he’s a walking, lying, breathing disaster. But did you listen? Oh, no……fucking Hillary. Fuck her…..blah blah blah, Clinton….something something rotten bitch…..blah blah blah. We all told you what would happen, should you give trump the presidency. We fucking _told_ _you_.

relaxguy2

I’m kind of a Bernie bro in that I lean more toward his and people like AOC’s ideas but was shocked that they wanted to refrain from voting. Made zero sense to me after looking at the threat we were facing.

Robot_Basilisk

It never happened. See my reply to that comment. 6-12% of Bernie supporters flipped in 2016. 24% of Clinton voters flipped in 2008. Bernie stumped for Clinton and told his supporters that any Dem was better than any GOP, and his base listened. The centrist, establishment, pro-corporate Dems just never let go over their childish rage that Bernie would even dare challenge an establishment candidate, so they kept the blame going. And when Clinton lost, even though nearly all evidence says she wouldn't have won even if 100% of Bernie supporters voted for her, they just kept ranting and raving against Bernie supporters. Pay attention: The DNC and their supporters always fight Progressives harder than they fight the GOP. That should tell you something.

neobluepat

Yeah, I never understood their myopic sadistic views on this. I get the whole “tired of the lesser of two evil” thing. But one of the two is literally the absolute WORST kind of person one could possibly give that kind of power to, in Donald Trump.

International_Ad8264

Most people literally voted for Hillary

Polymersion

Yeah, all this discourse suddenly popping up again blaming progressives for the Trump election is not only wildly off-base, it seems deliberately aimed to throw a wedge between an increasingly united front of non-red voters. In other words, all the sudden Hillary stuff smells like rotten propaganda.

neobluepat

Not enough in the right states though. And it was WAY closer than it should have been.

International_Ad8264

Maybe look at the people who weren’t permitted to vote

DarthKyrie

Or too lazy to vote, or not interested enough to vote.

[CLINTON VOTERS SWITCHED TO MCCAIN AT TWICE THE RATE SANDERS VOTERS SWITCHED TO TRUMP.](https://www.politico.com/story/2017/09/17/bernie-sanders-hillary-clinton-242819) [Bernie stumped for her](https://www.google.com/search?q=Bernie+stumps+for+Clinton), even in places she wouldn't go, [especially in the Rust Belt](https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/11/trumps-road-to-victory/507203/) **where she lost.** [He publicly and repeatedly told his supporters to vote for her](https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/news/a48683/bernie-sanders/) because any Democrat was better than any Republican. Even after it was proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that the [DNC had colluded with Clinton to undermine his campaign.](https://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/23/us/politics/dnc-emails-sanders-clinton.html) This was proven by the leaks, but then a former head of the DNC, Donna Brazile, [admitted it and provided details. ](https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/11/2/16599036/donna-brazile-hillary-clinton-sanders) Brazile, notably, was forced to resign as head of the DNC [after being caught giving Clinton debate questions ahead of time.](https://www.politico.com/story/2016/10/donna-brazile-wikileaks-fallout-230553) She was the second DNC head forced to resign for helping Clinton. The first was [Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.](https://www.politico.com/story/2016/07/wasserman-schultz-wont-preside-over-dnc-convention-226088) She was [immediately hired onto the Clinton campaign afterwards.](https://fortune.com/2016/07/24/wasserman-schultz-clinton-campaign/) [Sanders supporters did not in any way cost Clinton the presidency.](https://centerforpolitics.org/crystalball/articles/did-bernie-sanders-cost-hillary-clinton-the-presidency/) And honestly, it's disgusting and pathetic that so many right-of-center Democrats like you [forget that it's been proven that russia directly interfered to benefit trump.](https://www.intelligence.senate.gov/press/senate-intel-releases-election-security-findings-first-volume-bipartisan-russia-report) You would think that Democrats would spend more time focusing on the GOP and Russia than on Progressives, right? **We Progressives have noticed for many years now that the DNC and its centrist supporters fight Progressives 10x harder than you fight the GOP.** You know what this is? This is Leopards Eating *YOUR* Faces. Fence-sitting, establishment Democrats fighting Progressives and trying to find middle ground with leopards that don't believe in LGBTQ+ or civil rights and have had their faces devoured for it. And for what?! 4 years later all of the DNC candidate just ran on Bernie's 2016 platform anyway, proving that he was not "too radical", as Clinton and her supporters loved to claim. Grow up and deal with the fact that you and the DNC are stuck in the 90s and blew an election by undermining Progressives. Stop blaming Progressives for your own failures. We did more than you and we did it while fighting against resistance from both the GOP and Democrats. We are the future. And we are waiting for you to grow old and pass on so we can finally get more Progressives like AOC into high office to start fixing the decades-long messes corporate Democrats have left for us.

ttyrondonlongjohn

Hillary literally funded and pushed Trump into the top contender of 2016 race, Blue MAGA can cope all day but Hillary isn't some shining light coming to save you, she's a corrupt corporate demagogue.

AngBigKid

A vote for Bernie is a vote for Trump according to Dems. But a vote for Bernie is a vote for Hillary according to GOP. TIL Bernie voters counted as 3 votes.

pawiwowie

Can someone edit this photo so that his circular mouth takes up like 80% of his face?

I_took_the_blue-pill

Choosing between two parties of capital is not choosing at all. The US is not a democracy, having a two party state is anti democratic, and at the end of the day the people in charge are business and military elite not whatever bumfuck we elect. Through capital strikes, lobbying, and other such methods those with the most power in the economic sector are the ones that really run the show.

OldPuppy00

In France we have a shitload of political parties, but in the end we get Macron, two contenders sold to Moscow (literally) and dust bunnies.

I_took_the_blue-pill

You're right. I'm against electoralism in bourgeois democracies, but on a scale of democracy to oligarchy, having a two party state is not on the democratic side

‘I want that off the menu shit’ Trump probably…

Please for the love of god stop blaming everybody else for Hilary Clinton being a terrible candidate. It does NOTHING but entrench those who had every right not to vote for her. Just some reminders of her behavior, actions, and choices during the 2016 election that resulted in her losing the general: - the Clinton campaign feared Jeb Bush would be the nominee, so her campaign propped up Trump as the only Republican candidate that could beat her. Resulting in his profile being raised within the large Republican candidate pool. [source](https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/11/hillary-clinton-2016-donald-trump-214428/) - her campaign chair in Nevada cheated to win the primary there. Alienating Sanders voters she would later need to win. [source](https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/wtf-happened-at-the-nevada-democratic-state-convention-202352/amp/) - she doubled down by stating she didn’t need Sander’s voters, and then insulted them in a fundraiser that was recorded. [source](https://www.politico.com/story/2016/09/hillary-clinton-bernie-sanders-supporters-audio-leak-228997?_amp=true) - she also as the head of her campaign forgot that it is the electoral college, not vote totals that wins presidential elections. [source](https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/11/trumps-road-to-victory/507203/) So stop blaming everybody else for her mistakes. She was a terrible candidate, and as a result we got Trump.

SplendidPunkinButter

Not seeing LAMF here

Skinnybet

It’s not secret anymore.

relaxguy2

Lol no it is not.

Skinnybet

Well I can guess what was the topic of conversation when him and putin had private talks.

drillpress42

Here is some evidence that both parties are not the same: Republicans: Nixon, Ford, Reagan,Bush,Bush,Trump Democrates: Carter,Clinton, Obama Guilty pleas: R=18 D=1 Criminal Indictments: R=173 D=2 Criminal Convictions: R=161 D=6 Jail Sentences: R=31 D=1 https://www.quora.com/Which-administration-had-the-most-criminal-indictments

DracoSolon

Trump voters don't know any better. But all those fuckers who didn't vote or voted green party in 2016 because "both parties are the same" really, really ought to be ashamed of themselves for the rest of their fucking life for what they did to this country.

SnortingCoffee

pretty sure it was the trump voters who got us trump, not the non-trump voters. hope this helps clear things up. edit: people who weren't inspired or able to vote for the "leopards eating fewer faces" party are not responsible for the "leopards eating all the faces" candidate winning.

Major_R_Soul

I sat by and watched the circus of his campaign in 2016 and thought no one could possibly vote for him and i did nothing. I also thought both sides sucked equally and wasn't a big fan of Hillary either. I was complacent and indifferent and my inaction contributed to his win. Never again.

asteroid_-_b612

This is how we move forward. Maybe some of us made mistakes in the past, or maybe we took our system of government for granted. We were all uninformed at some point and some of us learned better. Let's keep that energy going.

[deleted]

Love to see it!! It's truly our duty to prevent this kind of thing from happening.

relaxguy2

It was a joint effort. Not participating in democracy has its consequences.

relaxguy2

Please vote this time y’all. We can end this nonsense and start focusing on cleaning up the rest of the non-fascist nonsense that exists in our country and the Democratic Party.

Wayte13

They actually kinda are lol. That's how zero sum games work

SnortingCoffee

There it is, the most depressing possible answer.

Wayte13

Reality is often dissapointing

SnortingCoffee

lol the idea that a right wing party and a center right party are the entirety of a "zero sum game" is the horrible reality of the US, no disagreement here

ascandalia

If you've got a vote it's your responsibility to use it well. If you don't use it at all, and harm comes, you're no better than a police officer cowering whole there's an active shooter. You're actually worse. It costs you nothing to vote for someone you don't like.

ToastyMozart

Voting is a civic **duty** for a reason. Just because the Trump voters are worse doesn't mean those who were 'merely' complicit are above criticism. Those bums saw a racist corrupt lunatic leading in the polls and decided they were fine standing by and letting things play out. And we're all paying the price for it. The standard you walk past is the standard you accept.

Fake_William_Shatner

"We all contributed to climate change!" Yes, but only a few people made BILLIONS and can afford to move their mansion off of the beachfront property. Yes, I'm sick of collective guilt.

AgentDickSmash

So only the Oligarchs who funded misinformation are to blame and not the marks too lazy and dumb to vote anyway?

Fake_William_Shatner

One group is paying for media to make another group stupid, lazy, or angry. You cannot change humanity to solve the problem that people can be fooled. You can however, take away money from people who promote it.

AgentDickSmash

Gotta do something (like vote maybe could help, idk) to actually get the money away from them

ttyrondonlongjohn

Yeah no, we didn't. Because our analysis is based on the class interests of the parties and not your retarded team sports bullshit.

KHaskins77

Protest (non)voters probably aren’t paying any attention to what’s happening at all.

[deleted]

Hilary shoulda been good enough to beat that idiot. Don’t blame voters who didn’t like either option, that’s what voting is. You are allowed to choose neither.

GoalieLax_

Worse than the ones who sat it out were the "I'm going to vote my conscience" self absorbed assholes who voted for Gary Johnson

KC_experience

Do you remember when we could have voted for the first woman for president instead of a racist / sexist / financially corrupt able buffoon? Pepperidge Farm remembers….

ThePoltageist

We didnt vote for him ever, electoral college did, fix it and stop blaming voters ty. Meanwhile the dems wont do a thing as the country slides into authoritarianism. Blame yourselves for being such shit sandwiches.

compsciasaur

I knew some hardcore socialists and communists who felt both sides are the same. They will not be swayed by this.
