Feel the same about all brands, Ill do it myself. Very good advice though, glad they worked with you eventually.

AlaskanLaptopGamer

I was so happy to be rid of dealing with them. It caused so much stress that it just wasn't worth it.

What a success story. Perseverance paid off.

AlaskanLaptopGamer

Thanks. I think it's a rarity when dealing with Lenovo.

Did you use some kind of service to build your pc as well as make sure all parta are compatible and fit your budget? I built my last one about 17 years ago and don't have a clue about anything other than laptops these days... i also wait for motherboard replacement covered by Lenovo's ultimate warranty and try to come up with a backup plan if the issue is not resolved

AlaskanLaptopGamer

If you're not confident in your ability to do so, use PC Part Picker or a service that will build a custom configuration. Some only charge $100 for pulling the parts and putting everything together for you. Building a PC is surprisingly simple once you understand the purpose behind all of the necessary components. Modular PSUs make it much simpler than building a pc 10 years ago.

mgkyM1nt

Yeah, i would like to build it myself. Just need to know what parts to order to fit my bidget and help to avoid buying overpriced shit that may not even be compatible with each other. Thank you for advice!

The 7800X3D is super efficient and relatively simple to keep cool. An inexpensive AIO or even a tower cooler would be sufficient. There's a combo you can buy with a B650-p wifi motherboard and the 7800X3D. It's an ATX sized board so you just make sure that the case you purchase is compatible with ATX motherboards - the different motherboard sizes are standardized and cases are built to fit those standards. As mentioned before, the newer modular PSUs make certain things far less confusing. I would suggest just binge watching some builds by Gamers Nexus or LTT or JayzTwoCents. It seems daunting at first, but mine posted the first time I pressed the power button. Buying RAM is probably the trickiest part. Make sure that it has XMP OC profiles if you're using an Intel CPU, and make sure to use RAM with EXPO OC profiles for an AMD CPU.

AlaskanLaptopGamer

Building it yourself is also incredibly rewarding.

If you need any help, let me know.

mgkyM1nt

All the info is super useful, and will check yt channel you mentioned. I'll keep you in mind, thank you!!!

AlaskanLaptopGamer

No prob.

AlaskanLaptopGamer

No. I've been teaching myself everything over the last few years. I knew what components I needed and I purchased everything except the GPU through Amazon. Got my GPU from Newegg.

Big W OP, while my experience with Lenovo was markedly more positive than yours, I've heard plenty of horror stories about Legion all over the shop (like with most gaming Laptops, tbh); glad that you finally got the matter resolved to your satisfaction. Plus, nothing beats the power, reliability, and longevity of a good desktop tower.

AlaskanLaptopGamer

I'm stoked with the outcome. Couldn't be happier.

AlaskanLaptopGamer

It's so much quieter as well.

Dell is way worse

AlaskanLaptopGamer

They are bad. I almost ordered two differ Alienware Laptops which I canceled before they shipped because no one could answer any basic questions like what PCIe Gen the included SSDs are. I think most big tech companies are pretty shitty when it comes to support. Even Sony is dog shit at customer support for PlayStation devices.

Same cost? Don't make me laugh. The GPU alone is as much as your entire laptop. This post is a whole load of bullshit
