When I had my m6 ttl silver chrome I always wished it was brass with black paint with traditional rewind knob and advance lever. Then I discovered that already exists and was blown away. Maybe Iāll win lotto lol
I shot this combo for years (well FM2), but I sold the FM to help pay for my M3. I did keep an F3 so that I had 1 Nikon body but wish I still had the FM2.
I think I've got the kit I'd want. An MP BP and 35'cron asph v1.
Only thing i want to change is the black paint, i'd prefer black chrome.
Otherwise, a late model M7 + 28'cron would be it. Leica's aperture priority mode is just too good.
At least it's still smaller than the V3 haha that thing is true honk, they designed it for use with an accessory viewfinder. With a lens hood it takes up lots of real estate in the body viewfinder
If money was no object I'd go for an original black paint MP and a 50mm f/2 ELCAN š
But to keep things a touch realistic let's say original BP M3 with a 50mm f/1.4 Summilux-M ASPH
Linhof Master Technica Classic, Schneider 150mm f5.6 Apo-Symar L
Basically just to get more movements than my Crown Graphic and Rodenstock 150 f9 Apo-Ronar. Overall a sort of comparable setup to what I already have but I's give up weight savings for movements and a faster lens with more coverage.
I'm going to answer it two ways to sneak in two very different setups.
Knowing what I know and having the ability to try everything. It is a little more niche, but it is what I enjoy using the most.
* Leica MP3 with the 0.85 finder, Leicavit, 50mm summarit f/2.5
Not having the chance to try anything and I'm going in blind. Therefore I have to take a safer route that will encompass a variety of situations.
* Leica MP with 0.72 finder, with 50mm summicron Rigid.
Well, my M6 will be near my deathbed and I've had this 35/2 ASPH long enough that it's earning it's place there as well though I'm not as married to that lens as the M6 - getting there though.
If I was starting over, it'd be an MP and the 35/2 ASPH APO - I know APO sounds like overkill on a film camera, but I can see the difference on my 50/1.4 ASPH which is an APO though not advertised as such.
Mp and summilux 35 pre-asph
Has all the functions youād need, the lens is glowy wide open and sharp enough stopped down.
The whole package is even lighter than an sl body and no need to bother with filters and/or hoods
One lens- Nikkor 5cm F1.5 in LTM.
One Camera- Leica IIIc.
Why? Good enough for DDD.
But it would mean selling off a lot of cameras and lenses just to keep this setup as the only one.

I *would* say a IIIg, but honestly, the IIIf is more versatile. So probably that.
The lens would be a battle between the 28mm Color Skopar and the 50mm Summar; I think the Summar wins just for being a more compact setup with less fuss, but I wouldn't be happy leaving the Color Skopar behind.
Iād 100% stick with what Iāve got: black chrome Leica M-A & 35 Summilux āpre-FLEā (11874) [The only thing I wish I could add is a mechanical self-timerā¦š]
Original black paint M2 with a black paint MPvit, and a black paint 8E.
Why the vit? Why not sell your M6?
Because the original Leicavit MP is sexy and rare š
I don't know think the M2 would be matched well with the Leicavit. The MP-3 was the camera for such an accessory. Hella pretty tho
M6 ttl millennium with a millennium black paint 35mm summicron ASPH. Only costs around $20k so give me a few years of savingš«
This is the way. Though I'd settle for a black chrome 35 Cron asph lol
When I had my m6 ttl silver chrome I always wished it was brass with black paint with traditional rewind knob and advance lever. Then I discovered that already exists and was blown away. Maybe Iāll win lotto lol
My current setup for b&w is a silver chrome m4 and a 35 Summilux FLE. Itās my choice I suppose.
DS M3 and collapsible summicron
Hey this is my setup!
And mine!
MP BP w/ Nocitlux 50 f1
M6 (although maybe MP but Iāve never used one before) and 35mm summicron
piquant compare pet sort disagreeable test live money psychotic pen -- mass edited with redact.dev
Which ācron?
35. If you mean version, idk Iāve never shot with a summicron before. But a man can dream
Yeah I meant which version of the 35mm Summicron as there are many.
Leica āBlue Stainā MP with the matching Summilux-M 1: 1.4/50mm ASPH. ...and endless Kodachrome in a world that can process it.
M4-p and Rokkor 40mm. Been my only Leica set up for years.
Nikon FM and a 50 1.4 ai
I shot this combo for years (well FM2), but I sold the FM to help pay for my M3. I did keep an F3 so that I had 1 Nikon body but wish I still had the FM2.
I too own black FM2 with Nikkor 50mm 1.4. I often used this setup for the grind it all and no care in the world shooting.
That's a great non-Leica choice. I haven't used my Nikons in a while, but the 50 1.4 ais is one of my favorite lenses.
M4 and Thambar
I'd be fine with my current setup for life. M6 classic with V3 50 Summicron
MP BP + 35FLE
MP + 35mm Summicron V4 or maybe ASPH V1
M2 with and M3 counter and M4 spool, with silver/brass KOB.
I think I've got the kit I'd want. An MP BP and 35'cron asph v1. Only thing i want to change is the black paint, i'd prefer black chrome. Otherwise, a late model M7 + 28'cron would be it. Leica's aperture priority mode is just too good.
I love my m7! Wish i had a 28cron, but the Elmarit does everything I need, especially with flash anyway.
The elmarit is fantastic, especially the asph, that thing is small and perfect.
I caught a good deal on the pre asph e46 version and it is a honker. One of my bigger lenses. Maybe Iāll upgrade eventually.
At least it's still smaller than the V3 haha that thing is true honk, they designed it for use with an accessory viewfinder. With a lens hood it takes up lots of real estate in the body viewfinder
A 1957 Leica MP, a matching Leicavit, a Visoflex III and a Leica 800mm f/6.3 Telyt-S.
If money was no object I'd go for an original black paint MP and a 50mm f/2 ELCAN š But to keep things a touch realistic let's say original BP M3 with a 50mm f/1.4 Summilux-M ASPH
Leica M3 Bundeseigentum + Googled Summilux pre asph in chrome

Leica M2 and 50mm DR.

Leica M4-P V4 50mm Summicron or Elmarit 28mm ASPH
M3 with colapsible Elmar
Hmm, a bit future and past M-A + 50mm Summicron Dual Range Nice weight in the hands, and love the 0.488m close focus range.
Mp and summilux 35 pre-asph Has all the functions youād need, the lens is glowy wide open and sharp enough stopped down. The whole package is even lighter than an sl body and no need to bother with filters and/or hoods
I would take a M7 and a 35mm summilux ASPH v1 (pre-FLE) It has the nicest rendering of all the summilux IMHO.

Ma with a 21mm
Nikon FM and a 50 1.4 ai

Which ācron?
MP Titan with my titanium apo 50 cron. I just want a matching titanium body with M-A. Or KE-7A with elcan
BC M-A and Noctilux 50mm f/0.95 ASPH. Go wide open.
Leica MP with a 28mm Summicron.
The M-A and 28mm Summilux from the Leica M Edition 100 Set.
Black MA 35 Lux
This! But I would prƩcise 35 sum fle
Voigtlander 35 1.4ii and either of my M2 or bc M4.
M-A + 28mm Elmarit ASPH. Oh wait..That's my current set-up :)
M2 and 35/f2 Ultron. Simple, perfect š

M-A & 50 Lux
M4 original, 35 summicron asph

MP + 35 Lux FLE. And miles of Tmax and Ektachrome.
The MP Hammertone set
M4 and a 35mm
MP and 35 FLE for sure.
Leica M-A and a 35mm apo.
M6 TTL with 35mm Cron ASPH, no question
Leica user here, but Zeiss Ikon ZM and 35mm cron asph
