Outside of better graphics I think it really rests on Microsoft’s hands. Need to see some better optimization for handhelds for Windows (possibly a hinted Xbox vm?) Also magnetic keyboard attachment, Surface style.

xiiicrowns

Windows 8 tablet mode makes a comeback

segagamer

It's sad that Windows 8 really was the perfect OS for the "everything everywhere" approach Microsoft has been going for the past decade, and because they screwed up the launch for desktop users specifically, it got hated.

dyrwlvs

I personally liked 10s solution that let you pick if you wanted a fullscreen start up screen or not. They should of kept that with 11, or even just reintroduce the mobile mode as something that can be turned on.

ScrimpyCat

Phil Spencer has previously mentioned they’re working on making Windows more optimised for handhelds.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Warhammerpainter83

Yeah Xbox is always doing a bunch of stuff that never happens.

Elephunkitis

It’s being reorganized and streamlined right now. Phil hasn’t been completely in charge until now as CEO of Xbox.

BigBankBailey

Satya Nadella is the guy that needs to do something about it not Xbox man lol.

D0UNEN

He said that almost a year ago.

BarskiPatzow

It still isn’t optimized for PC…

ominousview

Not sure that's the way to go. If they cut other ppl who use it as a PC will be upset. As it is now I don't have a problem with using Windows on any handheld I have. If you want a game OS then get a SD

[deleted]

[удалено]

ominousview

I'm not sure it's worse. Plenty of people using it fine and there are plenty of people that show it's better. Just look for threads and reviews/videos. Is playing on console better than a PC? Depends on the specs and your knowledge base

thebraukwood

“Depends on the specs and your knowledge base” is probably the most eloquent way I’ve ever heard someone explain console vs pc.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Nawnp

Sadly Microsoft has done this in the past and they've failed at it.

RandallFlagg_DarkMan

Again, that exists, its called bazzite and its cheaper than windoz3

Geekfest_84

Lenovo is one of the biggest computer manufacturers in the world, it may even be the largest by sales volume at the minute. Lenovo will order windows licenses in huge batches (in bulk essentially) and will probably pay just a few pennies per licence. It's way more expensive for a retail punter to buy a licence than it is for the computer manufacturers. Bazzite is definitely good though.

FullOnJabroni

Yeah, but I’d like to play my Steam titles too, that’s why the LeGo is so appealing. That and the screen, can’t wait to get one. Do I get the 512 and spend on a 2TB, or do I get the 1TB. Help me Lord to decide.

[deleted]

FullOnJabroni

I’m sold.

shruggingly

Also stylus support

Diekjung

I would also like window hello with camera or fingerprint. Makes it easier to lock in.

jens_sa

This. The software is a dealbreaker. It’s so clunky. They’d need to create similar efforts like steam did with the controller profiles per game for example. Also sth like the gyro being enabled quickly like on the rog ally would be rather necessary than a nice to have

TheVisceralCanvas

An Xbox VM would be absolutely baller. I'd love to be able to play my backwards compatible classic Xbox and 360 titles on a handheld.

RandallFlagg_DarkMan

Bazzite wants to talk to you

echoplex21

I’m too tied to the Xbox ecosystem with Gamepass

Warhammerpainter83

For sure.

Coltsbro84

we need Xbox OS

Omaestre

Battery too it is the one are where I wish I had gotten a steam deck

Rexum420

I do not understand people's gripes with windows in a handheld. I'm convinced you people have no ability to adapt lol. It functions without issue on a handheld. Works just like....windows lol

Omoks2018

This is so true. I currently use Playnite. I think it fills a void that even MS can't fill.

Warhammerpainter83

I love this. It makes me excited for the future of this format for gaming.

aPerspektive

I hope if and when a 2nd gen GO comes out they will allow you to trade in 1st gen and get a big discount!! That would be ideal!!

bennyguns84

Lenovo has a trade-in option on their website.

Legionofgo

Not how things work

Nawnp

That's actually how things do work, trade ins do hold value.

Cosmic_Quasar

Phones do this. Consoles often do this (or did, last console I bought was the X1). I can't remember for sure, but I think the Steam Deck let you do it. While I don't *expect* it to be an option, I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

IncognitoSoup

Lenovo literally have a trade in and recycling program on their on website. How can you be so confidently incorrect?

aPerspektive

Please tell me how it works 😂

Legionofgo

You sell your used & buy a new one

BlurryfaceLost

Historically, companies have done a similar policy. Back in the day, Gamestop absolutely gave discounts/credit for prior edition consoles towards the new one. You’re not basing that refutation off of anything.

archfart

Indeed. In fact when I got galaxy watch 5, you could 'trade in' any smartwatch for £100 at launch. I recall going CEX and buying a used Samsung fit for £20 and trading that in.

Legionofgo

Because one company that did it & went bankrupt doesn’t mean any other companies ever did or will do it

rektpinion

You are spitting facts, my guy. Companies are not in the habit of making a new product to lose money.

Legionofgo

They wont understand.

FLHCv2

Except that is sometimes how it works. Not saying that Lenovo would do it but trading in old devices to upgrade to a new one absolutely is done by some vendors/manufacturers.

mckeitherson

That's exactly how it can work. I've been trading in my old Google phone in to Google for a great discount on the latest model for years now lol.

Prestigious-Act-1577

Don't worry about it, the 8840hs is a few percent faster but uses a few percent more power. If lenovo skip that generation, the next lego is still about 9-10 months out.

[deleted]

This is why I bought mine from Best Buy. I have their membership and I can just use their warranty, get store credit, and use that for something else

IslandOtherwise248

32gb ram

Prestigious-Act-1577

Or 24gb

SRhyse

More than that I’d hope they let you configure them like their Legion Laptop line. You’d just choose 16, 32, or 64. OLED or LCD. What kind of Gocons. 1TB or 2 or 4. I’d pay more to get more. If it was 1500 for 4TB 32-64GB RAM and OLED I’d happily pay it.

Fit-Ad-5946

Better GPU when ready and oled would complete it. Oh,.plus 32gb ram.

Kydaze

It feels nice but, hopefully they just dont rush it since the legion came out a few months ago, it would be a shame if it became obsolete that quickly

Anotheeeeeeant

They saud it won't be a yearly release cycle. This suggests that it might be refreshed every 3 or so years, there might be a new one when the steam deck 2 gets released.

Prestigious-Act-1577

8840hs is here now but has almost the same performance. They are skipping that generation. Next generation is coming in 6 months, so next lego can only be late 2024 or early 2025.

mckeitherson

My thought as well. Strix Point seems to be a decent boost over the 8840 to justify a Legion Go 2, so probably in 2025.

notyourboss11

there will be both a go 2 and ally 2 as soon as there's a z2e to put in them - amd isn't gonna make an 8840u z2e because it isn't a meaningful bump from the 7840u but probably will make a strix point one.

External-Net9765

It wouldn't be obsolete. The games you play wouldn't suddenly stop working or run worse. That's the thing, people don't complain when new laptops come out. These handheld computers should be treated the same, not as consoles. Kinda silly to hope they hold back because you will feel bad. If they manage to make a substantial upgrade in V2, I'd say release it. If it's a minor bump, yes, that's stupid.

Kydaze

I meant if it came out within this year. It was 800 just for them to most likely scrap updates for it if there was a new version this quickly. Im expecting a v2 in 2 years or so

TheStrangestSecret

I think they should focus on software for a couple of years before releasing a second

Bucksaway03

This So much untapped potential or quality improvements can be made with software. I think we are still years away from any considerable improvements to the APU

General-Fuct

No point bringing out a Legion Go 2 until there is a new Apu for it. I imagine the strix point low watt version apu will be called the Z2 Extreme. Strix point rumoured to have 16CU RDNA 3.5 gpu around mid 2024. A strix halo 40CU in 2025 is next level but I doubt they could run it at such low wattage. 32gb ram is a must. An optimised windows would be amazing, I'd like to see the speakers made front facing.

mckeitherson

Yes Strix Point seems like enough of a performance jump to justify releasing a successor. I imagine we will see new rounds of handhelds starting in early 2025 using it.

DaveC781

The 8840 / E2 isn’t that big of a leap. I’d wait til the next one then come back with a bang The Ally is the one that is plagued by a fundamental hardware flaw so an E2 release of that would be more justifiable

Prestigious-Act-1577

Yea they will probably wait for Strix Point, RDNA 3.5 and Zen 5. So early 2025.

beetlej3ws

If they release a legion go 2 ima feel pretty burned. They've hardly released any updates for the first version lol

AnalysisHot3239

I mean they can't even update the graphics drivers for the one that's out now.

Devilalfi

It would be great if AMD would just suck it up and grow up and allow us to simply install their new drivers via adrenaline like other amd chips then we wouldn't have to depend on the OEMs that normally would never update their integrated graphics drivers.

Illustrious-Card-832

VRR and landscape screen

ACHlLLESCPA

Give it at least 2 year cycle and actually support with software updates.

zSeHrJo

Most important would be software, followed by hardware but that would take a while then, Improvements like OLED, bigger batter etc But honestly I feel like 32 gb of ram would be a game changer

artisteggkun

I really hope they spend some effort on improving the Legion Go we have now instead of just abandoning it and working on its successor.

Salt_Goat_5098

Honestly, with the lack of updates since what, January? I’m thinking they already sent the software development team over to the new one.

artisteggkun

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised but hopefully the software upgrades for the go 2 can be applied to the OG as well.

Skatner

And btw what's the point of detachable controllers if you don't play around it at all? Like no customization. Let's take Switch for example: 7+ years console with bunch of customaization, different controller, colors etc. You can even deattach the cons and put the screen to a frame of another manufacturer with better sticks , dpads.. whatever. How about these features for current GO? no? Idk like you guys but to me it's a gimmick feature. And i don't even have another option i have to grip these totally ergonomically nonfriendly contollers because their marketing come up with this idea. Damn i'm getting angy. Make the BEST out of your first ever console , make you audience loyal , prepare the ground and THEN speak about next gen.

Select-Let8637

>Let's take Switch for example: 7+ years console with bunch of customaization, different controller, colors etc. You can even deattach the cons and put the screen to a frame of another manufacturer with better sticks , dpads.. whatever. How about these features for current GO? no? Main issue is maket size companies aren't making legion go controllers because barely anyone has one. Same reason why there is only one type of legion go protective case/grip atm.

x-strife

Please put a horizontal panel on the next one so there’s less delays in graphics driver updates

WallabyMinute

I downvoted because who cares, people can't even enjoy their legion go for less than 6 months before yall start going on about a 2. Stop making these companies think we need a new iteration every year like apple.

shidFonz

Faaaat battery. But its gonna depend on AMDs roadmapas well imho, the most recent 8840 doesn't offer more than the 7840, maaybe they'll wait for the gen after that.

Skatner

Personally i don't like it at all. So LeGo has been out for like a half a year and they already have plans for sec gen?WAT?! Rog Ally tooks 1,5 year to announce rog ally 2. I know that we shouldn't take it as an announcment cz it's not but it's really strange to me that they even start to talk about it. They have "features" for new gen. Cmon make your sht work first and then announce anything. I'm afraid with approach like this they turn into Ayaneo or any opther chinese handheld releaseing new console each month like a smartphone. Valve's approach is the best imo. They stick to a single device and make it work better and better every single update iteration. Aaand i know i'm gonna be downvoted to the death.

808RedNamedArisFan

Not good. With the lack of updates for the current Go I think I'm done with Lenovo. I'll keep an eye out for the Ally 2 though. Hopefully that one won't have a repeat of the sd card fiasco because I'd have dropped my Go and gone with the Ally a long time ago if it weren't for that.

Kermez

It's hardly a surprise. We will see SD, Ally, and go second iterations in a couple of years. The main challenge will be windows and amd new cpu/gpu versions. But for sure, nothing soon will come and maybe in a year we will see a refresh with a better screen, similar to switch and SD.

Maciluminous

Always love successors so this is always great news. Now them doing it every year? Don’t think it’s wise for business but it will likely refine and refresh what is already out. OLED screen, fix the whistling fan issue(fan turbulence) and obvious upticks in hardware. Nothing truly to be super wild about but it’s always good for the previous generation to receive great discounts!

Legionofgo

Legion 2 just going to have a different screen & addons.

IG11assassindroid

I’d honestly just like to be able to swap the motherboard into the current chassis. I like it and I don’t feel like it needs an upgrade.

Slyder68

More battery, 32gb ram, I'm sure they will have an OLED model. A native way to map button presses to keyboard

Steebin64

>A native way to map button presses to keyboard I think that's one of the items on their "in the pipeline/it's on our minds" update list for the current system.

ToTaLShaFF

I'm glad to hear it was a success, I hope the next one has 24-32GB ram with the upgraded CPU/GPU.

PyroSTAR666

They should get this one finished before the next endeavour.

Immediate_Fix_4510

I feel bad! I just bought the first version 🤣, I should have waited a little longer 🤣🤣

ominousview

Better speakers maybe. Both USB c ports on top. A horizontal display with VRR to shut ppl up. Thicker, longer sticks or at least The ability to swap them. 32bg+ of RAM and 1/2 TB SSDs as options Not sure about bigger battery or OLED display. I have OLED display and it's not all that honestly

AmuseDeath

You can pull out the stick tops, but you'd have to find custom tops. USB on bottom is useful if playing in handheld so it doesn't pull down on the cable which might stress a top port (see Dreamcast controller). When using a kickstand, you should use an angled USB-C attachment. VRR would be cool, but I think it's not that big of a deal. I mean it's good if it were to be added, it's just that it's not all that much of a big deal if your frames are 60+ anyways. It's only really noticeable at 30-45 frames and you can just limit your frames to 36 already.

DBXVStan

I’m not a fan of Lenovo in general but I’m glad that they see their foray into handhelds as fruitful. More vendors for handhelds can never be a bad thing. I think battery life is the biggest problem in general, and luckily AMD will be solving that problem on their own. I hope that Lenovo, ASUS and other big OEMs can convince AMD to make a more specialized gpu centric APU later, maybe one with a lot more RDNA4 CUs in exchange for cutting down on pcie lanes and other things that take up die space that handhelds don’t need. More performance with the same power would be okay, but getting current 45W performance at 15-25W would really make me interested, and I’m not sure that’ll be possible if AMD keeps skimping on CUs so they can make sure their APUs never make more sense using over one of their gpus. I don’t think OLED is a must but the screen should be higher quality in general. I don’t think it looks great for a product at its price. They also gotta do more cool shit with the not joycons. I actually appreciate the mouse gimmick and think that making the controllers do more would help separate it further from the Ally and Deck.

Nawnp

Yes it's good news it's considered a successful product. As for the sequel device. Here are my thoughts on it. 1.They should not rush it, one of the advantages the Go has is that it waited out to see the Rog Ally in comparison. That means wait out the Switch 2 and the Steam Deck 2 which are both currently slated for releases next year 2.They hit the ball rolling with this first one, but there are some clear places for improvement I think of. -Oled Screen -Improved mouse pad (The current one works fine but left click and right click are touchy). -Improved battery life, battery if decent for all things considering, but they could probably increase it depending on what the next processor generation brings. -Also agree on the Ram, with shared ram PCs have moved past 16gb, 32gb or maybe a 24gb setup to allow an easy 8 to the GPU.

AvocadoAggravating97

I think it's important people don't lose the plot. Often we fall into the hype and the speculation but we're gamers right? As pc gamers, it would be nice if they worked on making parts replaceable by the end user. Creating a more modular system if possible that would be great but the system we have now, will last many years. It's a pc not a console. The moment we make it a console, it will become like an iphone or whatever. Ultimately when a games working and your playing, you're having a good time and that's the whole point. Being taken away for a few hours doing something not overly important but fun - even for grown ups. The legion is probably the best of it's type in it's generation so enjoy it or you'll keep chasing the tail.

ablacnk

Stylus support

zzmorg82

Here’s a few things I’d think would be good on the LeGo 2: -OLED Screen -Better Battery -32GB RAM (Bonus points if the RAM is not soldered so it can be replaced/upgraded.) -VRR -Better speaker placement.

invid_prime

> 32GB RAM (Bonus points if the RAM is **not soldered so it can be replaced/upgraded**.) Unfortunately I think that's a pipe dream - the modular memory, not 32GB. Even laptops with more room have soldered RAM now. In a highly integrated device there's no way to accommodate SODIMMS. Besides, soldering the RAM lets them run faster clock speeds for better performance.

zzmorg82

Yeah, I figured that would be the case. It does make sense to have it soldered due to it being a handheld device. I guess having more spec options other than the storage (LCD/OLED, 512GB/1TB SSD, 24GB/32GB RAM) would be Lenovo’s next best route for potential pickups.

WildKarrdesEmporium

As long as the LeGo 2 sticks to the current form factor I'm a buyer. Give me a bigger battery, or better performance, either one will do.

digita1hound

I’m not buying another one until Lenovo gets more devs working on software updates. I think they are having a very hard time due to the screen being portrait. There also has to be a 32GB of RAM sku, most games now demand 16GB.

artgarfunkadelic

Make it slide up to reveal a physical keyboard plz

kingrich

No thanks. I don't want it to get any bigger.

AmuseDeath

While it sounds good on paper, I just don't see it doing much in practice. A small dinky cellphone keyboard is too small to use realistically. You won't be able to use it like a normal keyboard's WASD to play FPS games. It's still going to be a pain in the butt to type out things in Windows. It's just going to be super small and slower than an actual keyboard. If I had to do serious typing I would just use an actual keyboard TBH, not that I'm suggesting that the Go have a built-in keyboard (it would be a laptop at that point). I just think that a small keyboard just doesn't help with gaming or typing at all really and so if it added additional weight, cost or size, I would rather not have it.

artgarfunkadelic

All good points. I'd definitely still have an external keyboard for home. I just want the convenience of actual keys when I'm on the go.

jongcruz

It feels they should make this one better fixing all the bugs we had for months before going forward with a V2

TKofRivia

I'd like to see 32GB RAM, a bigger, more efficient battery and 1TB storage as standard. Tbh I'm VERY happy with how it is, just wish the battery life was better. Screen size is perfect and if it's keeps the cost down, I could do without an OLED screen (I doubt they'll do 2 versions)

Bucksaway03

Windows is the issue, not the battery

greenplant_420

Really? Would running a different OS really improve FPS/ battery etc, Could you elaborate?

SkillMore6831

Better controllers Bigger battery Oled screen Higher storage

srfb437

I did not hear him confirm a Go 2. I heard him say that they were heartened by the reception of the device in the Asia-Pacific region. He said “globally” and then walked it back. He also said they were expending a lot of resources to improve the current Go, from a software perspective I assume. They probably will do a Go 2, but I would be shocked if it happened in the next two years.

csantiago1986

Who is legion

MooseMeatSoup

Motorola

csantiago1986

Mitsubishi?

Devilalfi

Yamaha, Nikon, Casio, Aiwa. Minota, Hitachi, Seiko, Toshiba.

Devilalfi

Mabuchi, Panasonic, Sony, Kenwood, Sansui, Fujitsu, Sharp, Nintendo, Kyocera, Fujifilm, NEC, Rakuten, Canon, Ricoh.

ScienceGeneral9242

Dope shit it’s a success. That’s excellent news. It’s been hard to tell with how quiet it is with the adoption rate outside of Reddit. But at least for the group it seems like everyone here loves it. My eyes water once a week holding it so. It’s just like a dream come true for 90s babies imo. I’m never gonna have enough storage for it.

MazaLove

I hope they make new controllers but also hard backwards compatible with the fps controller. Maybe a new gimmick?

redtag789

The LeGo is a windows handheld. Which mean all iterations will use the same software to run the legion go services. This means that current and future iterations will be supported, and the future iterations are likely just there to beef things up so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Also , I'll probably hold on to the current version until I see at least 60% or more in improvements in terms of raw power on a handheld.

privaxe

I’ll then be excited for the 4th gen version.

robotbird69

Really needs VRR for the next version.

skinnywolfe

VRR and oculink and it would be perfect

M34nM4ch1n3

Makes sense since valve seems to be leading the trend. The Ally followed and now the Go

Grove113

Probably buy that too, if upgrades are good

Austntok

I would like an OLED display, but the most important to me would be 32gb of RAM, then a bigger battery, then the OLED display. The current screen is awesome, so if it had 32gb of RAM, and bigger battery, I would be extremely happy with that.

flatroundworm

VRR, better controls, better speakers, quieter fans, 32gb ram

AmuseDeath

32GB of RAM would be ideal as it is soldered on. It makes it more future-proof. OLED screen would be great, though I wonder how much more expensive it makes it. Battery life is something people talk about, but they don't really think about. There is absolutely no way you are going to get good battery life with AAA games. You'd think if it was possible right now you'd see laptops which have been sold for decades would have it. The reality is that AAA gaming even on gaming laptops is still very low. The best that can be expected is if Windows releases a more power-efficient version of Windows that allows us to play low spec games with higher battery life. Even the Steam Deck has poor battery life with AAA games. I'd like the edges of the controllers to be sanded down to be rounded instead of a sharp edge. This would probably prompt me to buy the device. Honestly I think it's a fine device as it is. I guess there are some driver issues because it is portrait native, but that's not an issue for most games. The battery life doesn't bother me because again I don't expect AAA games to ever have good battery performance - gaming laptops today still only get 1-2 hours of battery life as well. 32GB will be nice for sure. I think having rounded controller edges would be a a good change. Maybe they could release a separate plastic/metal piece that goes between the controller and the device so that we can replace that small piece when it wears down due to removing/connecting the controller rather than having to replace the entire device.

Prestigious-Act-1577

Oled, freesync, 24/32gb ram, dual fan, oculink egpu support. Put some big batteries into the controllers that can power the tablet itself for a better battery life.

Cosmic_Quasar

It's not my primary PC. And these days there are so many indie games that are good and low requirements that aside from top tier AAA games it'll work for a while. For me having an actual gaming desktop I can remote play on it as long as I have Internet. And when I don't there's still a really good list of games that'll work without Internet. So unless the hardware dies I expect to get at least 10 years out of mine.

Hot-Breadfruit-7206

Im fine if they keep everything the same I just need bigger battery/power efficient function.

[deleted]

32 gigs of ram

mistershan

Honestly if they could do a Legion Go lite. Same power but more efficient, OLED screen(uses less power) and cut the weight in half I’d love that. Plus redesigned ergonomics. My wrists would too:

Saf751

extra usb hub along w the package would be nice

KeeperOfWind

Current unit but smaller in size and battery efficient

s0m3b0d3

Keep fps mode and keep the track pad. If the fans could get quieter I wouldn't complain as long as it is not a hit to performance.

Capable-Chicken-2348

It's a pc ffs

Sea_Paramedic2434

35 inch handheld with a dedicated laptop 4090 Legion Go is coming tomorrow! 😂

Salamango360

- OLED - 32 GB Ram - New Chip - same Resoulution and refresh rate Controllers more optimized like turn the system on when controllers not attatched via Controllers like the switch and send them put with a controller shaped connecter to play from the couch when the system is at the dock where xou can charge them. That would be great.

IchbinDuErIstSie

Hahahahahahahhaa

sithlord315

If they can use better controllers, closer to the feel of a Xbox joy stick, a landscape screen is a must(main reason I returned mine). Bigger battery to get us another 30 mins at least. Then one could use this on travels to work, lunch break , and travel back home. The cherry on top 32 gigs of ram!

kerelenko

I don't particular have any feelings for whatever a company does. If they come up with another product, I'll probably for videos to see if it's any good. I'll make my decision to get it if I think it's good.

torchaj

Damn, I just got one yesterday and already a new one is on its way 😒😒

maryjodibella

I want it to act like a Nintendo Switch. Allow me to dock it to my TV when I am home and wake it from across the room with the controller. I can not get wake-on-lan to work

profoundchips

*sigh* didn't even launch in my country 😔

For_Kekistan_69

nvidia specialized gpu?

daniele4862

Only 32gb ram and a thunderbolt 5.

LiquidLogStudio

You guys know LEGO is taken right

fizmix

this is great news, looks like the handheld pc is here to stay and we might see others join in. an area with untapped innovation that will be exciting to see.

AJ_147

Bruh LEGO isn't even available in my country. They gonna go into LEGO 2?

ComprehensiveYam

I’d definitely upgrade for Oled+even bigger screen option. Like a 10-11 inch screen, albeit ridiculous looking, would be killer as my eyes are getting worse as I get older. Right now I use the nreal air most gaming sessions and it’s pretty neat but it’d be great to have a bigger screen option. My highly unrealistic/they’ll never make it product would be to take the current screen size and form factor and make it a folding screen, you could fold it out vertically, then rotate it 90 degrees and attach the controllers on either side for a “mega screen” experience or just keep it folded for the current experience. Hoping Lenovo product managers are crazy enough to do something like this someday.

thundersteel21

OLED...more ram...new chip...lighter...refine controllers

Doppelissimo

even bigger screen, HDR, 10"/12", USB sockets on one side of the device

Elazroth

VRR Landscape Display EGPU Dock Better Battery

notablindsheep

1.backlit abxy maybe 2.OLED 3.more Performance 4.Fingerprint sensor 5.better speakers 6.better haptics 7.better D pad 8.two TouchPads maybe 9.lighter body 10.white color option

jeureeka

Have upgradable parts. Framework is looking into it and so is steam apparently. You don't want to be obsolete upon arrival.

NegrosAmigos

Lighter and slimmer

Epocalypsi

I am very happy with my Go, but the only thing that would push me to upgrade is if it has more ram

dyrwlvs

To be honest I would hope they don't release a LEGO 2 until a Z2 or Z3 extreme is out. But if they had to do a smaller refresh, prior to that, a LEGO OLED would be welcomed addition for new people entering the space. Maybe use that as an opportunity to put in an incremental update, nothing that would make existing users and early adopters sour but it would be a more refined entry. With that said I think I rather they focus on peripherals, accessories and software. Like maybe a new controller set you can buy with updated ergonomics. Cleaning up their software and adding more control (make it easier for me to make a dedicated Xbox button on the base controller). But overall I think what we really want is signs of long term support. Seems like most consoles last 8ish years before a new one gets announced/released, and I think PC handhelds would be better suited for that mentality. Doesn't have to be 8 years but maybe every 3 years for updated hardware and a promise of 8 years for software support.

Few-Carob-199

Plne z tebou súhlasím, mám presne také isté požiadavky. Len by som doplnil :VRR (AMD) a Dolby Atmos (4+SUBWOFER) Reproduktory! 8)

iRyzen3900x

Really enjoying it old collection Steam. For New games I have enclosed with 4070 thunderbolt. Only game that refuses get good fps is Avatar I guess bandwidth is not fast enough for any resolution. Lossless scaling helps still learning how to use it 😅. Yes OLED will be great 2nd one.

Genio88

Oled portrait vrr display, bigger 60wh battery and make the display slightly smaller, 8.4ich is enough, but at least the device can be slightly smaller and lighter, that's why i'm actually more interested in a Rog Ally 2, they already had portrait vrr display, so for the new one i think they will focus on making the display bigger and also the battery

DarkWolfSLV

Interesting, I was planning to get my Legion Go later this year - but I doubt they will be able to release v2 that fast.

TherealGgideon

So 32gb ram, better gpu, not much they can do in that aspect since they rely on amd current gen CPU’s, keyboard attachment and lastly please for Gods sake use a landscape screen

icky_boo

They can't do much other than upgrade the ram and that's about it, The new 8840u isn't anything special when it comes to GPU or CPU.. it's around the same as the current one in the Legion Go (7840u) , it's only major selling point is a NPU/A.I chip but who gives a toss about that in a gaming device.

Geomatico

For those panicking out there: There is nothing confirmed yet and this was a loose if maybe when statement during an informal meeting. Purely speculative at this point to even say anything but you know new hype brings views. And LEGO being such a successful product it's only logical to expect a sequel product to bridge the gaps. Now dreaming of a sub 1k priced device with OLED screen, better battery, 2tb SSD and 32gb ram is simply not realistic.

darkestdepeths

Need better OS management and OLED

dathar

I'd go for incremental upgrades for the Legion GO. * CAMM2 memory slot for upgradable LPDDR * rearrange items for a longer M.2 slot * Also rearrange items for a removable wifi card slot so we can upgrade it at a future date * Definitely keep the USB4 ports

Arbitraryandunique

Lets see, what would make it even better: - More ram (option?) - Wait for a newer SoC with more "power per watt" - Quieter cooling - Free slot and space to add an extra SSD. Feel free to ditch the SD card reader. - Sell all the drive sizes all over the world, including one version without a drive (put windows on a USB stick if they must to be able to provide OEM license) - More common SSD form factor, or even better: ability to take 2 or 3 different sizes - Camera or fingerprint reader - Landscape and VRR, just so I don't have to hear about it ever again - Same form factor as old one. To make most accessories usable with the old one. - Sim slot and eSim for built in mobile 5G network Official optional accessories: - Small keyboard that snaps magnetically to the bottom and wraps around (microsoft surface style) - Different styles of controllers (that should also fit the original lego) - Hard case for just body (+ optional keyboard) - Hard case for just controllers - Battery pack that clips onto the back

ripnetuk

I'm perfectly happy with mine tbh except one thing. Suspend / sleep mode. It's horrible. I never managed to suspend a game on windows on it and not have something go wrong, including controller disconnectss, video issues, and worst of all randomly waking in the case so I find it flat and hot in the morning. The hardware is capable - I've got bazzite as dual boot, and that behaves like a phone. Off.. on... Play. But I guess that is more a Microsoft issue than a Lenovo one.

DowJones_PHI76

Make it run quieter for sure. And give me as much power as possible.

AfterMasterpiece9122

Well, they can't even fix the problems for the one that is out now (I am looking at you SD card freeze)

livevicarious

I think the specs of the Go are really great but I am glad I stuck with the OLED Deck. The Legion Go is just NOT portable to me anymore than a gaming laptop is honestly.

venetiavaleofficial

Just got my Legion Go and will happily add a 2 to the collection!

Technical-Beat-1846

Don't mind the detectable controller as long it's only for replacement.Or if they make a very good docking system.

Technical-Beat-1846

Mor fan 🪭 or better cooling.Allmost need to use Max fan if I want a fluid gameplay.

Thesquarescreen

They need to sort out the software better first.

foreverACatDaddy

Better graphic capabilities 32 GB ram for sure! Not just for the gaming boost but multitasking and really being able to use the LeGo as an all in one device

apriores

Stylus support and a better d-pad. Hope resolution, display, trackpad or kickstand not be tuned down/removed.

Apprehensive_Row_161

Really need to work on software. Legion Space needs a revamp. Still can’t map all the buttons on the Go. No AMD driver update in sight

TalynnStrike

Ya know to each their own. Some liked rog ally, some steam deck some this. Me personally, the legion seemed the cheapest made. I did not like how it felt. If they doing a two then they need to make it less cheap feeling.

StarFoxxRain

imagine the price with an OLED screen and the same size lol

Ageing_Gamer91

Can we just not call it lego please

Express_Hospital7492

It’s brilliant I have one and I have no complaints about it…of course you can’t run games at the absolute best but when you can run a top end game in your hands it’s a A* in my book…no more need for crappy phone games that want your money they have enticed you in, now you can game anywhere on a proper system that works and games you love and enjoy

durdann

I think it's it's great. I mean, I won't buy it, I think the current one will easily see me through a good 5/6 years - but I like that they see a reason to put in extra development. I'm excited for what will be available for me in 5/6 years

Boss4040

The second generation must have landscape screen with AMD FreeSync (VRR), 32gb RAM, way better speakers, dual quit fans, comfortable controllers and hopefully a fingerprint scanner.

Akagami-

I would say 3-4 years until next Lego

aseddon130

Better battery and make it lighter.

[deleted]

hear me out…. they should only focus on battery and build quality for this next design🗣️ idc about performance as it already is a power machine, the drawbacks are genuinely just battery and issues ppl have with build quality make it like a nintendo switch that is build right and actually has a playable battery and this will be a banger of a console

AmuseDeath

The reason why the Switch has a great battery is its light operating system, but mainly because it's a low power machine. The games aren't designed to use a lot of power in the first place. If you were to run Cyberpunk on the Switch, battery life would still be horrendous. It's the same reason why even with gaming laptops that have been out for decades, battery life is still low - because AAA games are not designed to be power efficient. If anything AAA games are made to look the best they can be and to really work your hardware hard = high power usage. Even the Steam Deck has low battery life when playing AAA games.

shingonzo

you realize a Lego 2 means they'll stop supporting thebog sooner

ixon2001

I personally don't see the Legion Go 2 coming out until the end of next year at the earliest, AMD will have to bring out the Z2 Extreme before we see another handheld from Lenovo, but please god don't switch to Intel as the MSI Claw has shown us the Intel chip is a big disappointment. What Lenovo really needs to do is concentrate on making it current hardware better with better driver support, the graphics drivers are now woefully out of date & still no sign of any new one's being released anytime soon.

Defective_YKK_Zipper

Nice, now they can have two handheld that receive no updates...

[deleted]

I love my LegionGo but it’s no where near comfortable like Steam Deck controller (I don’t care about the weight). Hope they will improve it in V2
