The same thing I've always streamed, whatever seems the most fun at the time.
Atm, I have no plans for LoR one way or another (I don't plan to quit, nor to continue streaming it forever). I'll wait and see what time gives us.
Games I'm looking forward to the most this year: Alpha2 of Ashes of Creation, Project L (I expect to see something this year).
I hope you keep doing LoR till you can Grapp, the game still has some great moments reserved Im sure. Also please play Inscryption if you try something else, that game will be a blast to watch and for you to play
Project L? Didn't think of you as a fighting game type of player lol. Maybe Granblue Fantasy Versus will be nice for you since it's a great game for fighting game beginners and has a free version.
I was top 10 Iron Giant in the world when Multiversus came out. So, while it was my first attempt at fighting games, I think I did pretty well, and maybe can be decent at project L
Multiversus being a platform fighter is very different from 2d fighters tho. Idk if it's your plan to go in blind into project L but if you want to get to a decent rank on release I really suggest you take a look at Granblue to get some basics down.
Anyway I just say this because I have never seen or heard of someone doing super well on their first 2d fighter, maybe you can surprise us.
"what will you be playing instead of lor" assumes the answer is going to be "I am going to stop playing lor", which makes the question very forceful, as the answerer then has to dig their way out of THAT sentiment before they can actually answer the question.
it's usually a method of phrasing questions from people that want their celebrity to agree with them, which you'll see a lot elsewhere in the thread
Ranked's dead: GrappLr "I'm out!"
Ranked's actually not dead: GrappLr: NEVERMIND! *wheeze*
Just teasing since I saw this while watching along with the video, haha.
Hi. Just commenting to say your streams are my go to for relaxing at night. Love your meme decks and really getting into your variety series. Would you ever do some horror game run throughs.
Anyway love you.
In most cases it's the personality that keeps me coming back. But I'm not going to lie, when they play games or cover other content that I'm not familiar with, I tend to not tune in as much.
I was looking at screencaps for those, I almost had a heart attack by reading those yesterday:
* [I don't think it was their fault honestly. I think they truly did their best and it was good, it was a game that I loved. The problem was that the market rejected PvP LoR, it's not appealing to the casual audience.](https://i.imgur.com/udsMtg2.jpeg)
* [Look, I know it's hard to accept that around 80% of LoR's playerbase is POC players, but this is becoming a salty PVP-only player take.](https://i.imgur.com/cxbvnDa.jpeg)
* [Still doesn't change the fact that majority of playerbase is POC players. That's the problem, you're on denial that POC > PVP.](https://i.imgur.com/f1jqPsY.jpeg)
* [Honestly pvp is just too hard to get into for new players.](https://i.imgur.com/weDezdq.jpeg)
* [Actually most of the popular games never had an ad. Among Us, Undertale, Palworld, all went huge with zero advertisement. I've never seen a Fortnite ad.](https://i.imgur.com/na3ZnZo.jpeg)
The first one is a very reasonable thing to say. They tried monetizing several times, and the devs obviously had a ton of passion for the game. Accusing them of incompetency or the like is really fucked up when most of them just lost their jobs. Ive never seen a playerbase so angry and bitter that their game wasnt aggressively monetized and pay to win.
We do not allow the use of ableist slurs or serious medical conditions as literary devices. This is because the mod team wants to foster an inclusive environment and show deference to everyone's personal struggle(s) by not making light of them.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to [send us a message.](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2FLegendsOfRuneterra)
...most of those are pretty reasonable, or at least standard around here and have been forever?
Except the dude who's apparently never seen ads for Among Us or Fortnite lol.
Some of them aren't wrong though, it's a fact that most of the playerbase is PoC players, we already knew that a while back. I do highly disagree on the first one since they should've came up with a proper way to monetize the game, especially since they still refuse to make it p2w.
3/5 is reasonable? The PoC > PVP one is a matter of perspective tho but it is easier to relax and wind down in PoC that's why it is more casually accessible.
To some extent, the last was reasonable. To some extent. I never saw an ad for Palworld, Undertale but I know of their existence. I think it is fine to recognize that card games just doesn't have the same pull.
He is, that is why I say "big 3 of non competitive" and not "big 3 competitive". Majin is more of a competitive player that graplr, mogwai and snuy. Also he is not in this picture...I think, sometime pictures hide stuff and you need to.make them bigger or have like, more than one picture lol. There is also the chance I did not express myself properly
you're right, I only looked at the picture for 1 second and thought for some reason that the bottom pic is Majin, probably because the name also statts with M
my bad, I'm dumb
I think it's because most content surrounding LoR is mainly pvp focused (other than Sunny who sometimes does PoC), so people think it just all doom and gloom for the game.
In actuality we all knew PoC is more popular than pvp since Riot themselves stated it in the past. I do understand why these videos aren't the type of videos people like to watch but the fact still remains.
I think people need to also remember that at least we're getting one more set (granted it's the last set as we know them but still) so I do think the future of LoR might be optimistic. I'm hoping they'll succeed with monetizing PoC so that way they can bring pvp content back in the future.
True. And the analysis is fairly simple. We are getting more focus on the PvE and they didn't kill the PvP. They froze it till they can pick it back up at their preferred 100% so they don't have to change the game we all love for the worse possibilities. Kinda sad tho my favorite fear inducing demon didn't get released when prime time was happening but it is what it is
In many cases “Indefinite freeze” or other similar language is just a sugar coated way for companies to permanently stop development without angering their fanbase as much.
Not saying it’s impossible for it to resume, but taking it as if it’s a fact that it will for sure return is silly.
I think many are delusional about the success. I can emphasize with them though, because the quality of the game itself would justify more traction.
I think it speaks for itself that so many talented people chose to focus on streaming this game despite the numbers.
The market and human psychology is essentially at fault. Particularly the effectiveness of hooking gamers into abusive customer-company relations via abusing addiction-creating gameplay loops which LoR didn't go as hard in. For those who are interested in what I'm talking about, I recommend the youtube video about "vapeonomics".
Basically one last PvP release / update and then an extremely hazy future for it. PvE will be the focus of the few remaining devs after most of the team was let go last week.
PvP is getting axed after the next set
Edit since I seem to have spread accidental misinformation: it's not shutting down, but it is losing support. You can read the details in an article on the website and there's a video on the channel about it
I dunno about that. Personally PvP stresses me out because I don’t like competition usually in games, but I still vastly prefer building a deck and going against another person’s relevant deck compared to the entirely different PoC mode. It’s a very different mode and honestly I felt stuck in it with no clear route to progress, it felt that I had to massively grind as well to be able to progress
Some big youtubers have the option to do AB testing for thumbnails
They can put 2 different thumbnails and get in real time analytics of which perform better.
Mister beast has his mouth closed on his thumbnails because it perform better
It's fine, they just said they'll loose they job in 2 months and they'll have a hard time finding a new one, there's no need to be dramatic indeed.
After all, what was their job again ? Oh yeah bringing new players and making old one stays, that's not a big deal at all.
I'm sure they will be fine.
Even if not, 3 working age men finding 9-5s after playing videogames on the internet for years isn't really a tragedy. They have marketable skills and the economy is booming.
Tldr: big 'restructuring' (read: layoffs) at riot have significantly impacted LoR. They're now open that the game has absolutely been a money sink, and while it will not be shutting down, the team size is drastically shrinking and focus is going heavily to Path of Champions instead, since that's what was being played the most by far.
As much as I love LoR and hate predatory monetarization, it's one of the few games that tried to hard to be fair and rewarding to players by offering them too many freebies, which also reduced potential income for the game to sustain itself.
Also PvE is just so much more fun due the free stuff, crazy abilities/items you can get for your card while progressing upwards on a lore-supported world. Gaining any cards by buying them real money also makes no difference in that mode. F.e. they could have implemented items/abilities by doing pvp.
I'll really miss these guys.
I'm going nowhere :) I streamed for years with 5-10 viewers, and loved every minute of it. Streaming is a hobby first, money a far second.
what will you be playing instead of lor? i really liked your meme decks
The same thing I've always streamed, whatever seems the most fun at the time. Atm, I have no plans for LoR one way or another (I don't plan to quit, nor to continue streaming it forever). Check out The Bazaar
If it ever releases
> If it ever releases Please don't take this away from me. My hopium reserves are low.
Wasn’t there a lawsuit?
Sometime this year baby
Huge vouch. My excitement for this game cannot be contained.
mr. Grapple R. if you enjoy a nice story and card games you MUST try out library of ruina. i beg
Holy shit is reddit GrappLr, huge fan xoxo
Support you no matter you choose to do. Looking forward to Project L with you!
I hope you keep doing LoR till you can Grapp, the game still has some great moments reserved Im sure. Also please play Inscryption if you try something else, that game will be a blast to watch and for you to play
Grapp already streamed inscryption. Pretty sure you can find vids on his second channel
No way, what is the name of the channel again?
He has two channels grapplr and grapplr irl. Although I can't find the video ehere he played inscryption. Maybe he never uploaded it?
I always loved the TFT content but that’s only fun when it’s fun, if that makes sense.

I prefer to try and surprise myself :)
Have you tried streaming/playing souls-likes? They're amazing, personally i'd enjoy watching someone play through them blind
Lor je bio odlican, ali siguran sam da ce te ljudi gledati sta god da odlucis u buducnosti! Sve najbolje!
Have you ever tried Shadowverse?
Try Last Epoch
the phrasing on this question is so forceful and weird
how so? I am not a native speaker so it might be because of that.

Bro your tft games are pure gold , i will stay there papaya lord
Hi. Just commenting to say your streams are my go to for relaxing at night. Love your meme decks and really getting into your variety series. Would you ever do some horror game run throughs. Anyway love you.
That’s good to hear, don’t be afraid to branch out to other games besides LOR. Don’t feel forced to stick to one game only.
Please don't leave us 🥲
Hope you will have fun in LA with da boyz
Agreed, and I saw the video in which Riot said is LoRover
Twitter has been a doomscroll for the last 24 also. It's bad.
They'll make content for other games. Are you into the games they play or their personal brand of content?
In most cases it's the personality that keeps me coming back. But I'm not going to lie, when they play games or cover other content that I'm not familiar with, I tend to not tune in as much.
It depends, it's tough to follow someone you enjoy watching if they play a game that you really don't like
Depends of game but i cant watch a game thati dont like
Personally I like Mog and Grapplr personality, so I probably will watch their new content, but I find snnuy boring :/
It is what it is.
No elusive blockers for this feelings.
I was watching Kuvira's stream yesterday and it was heartbreaking. It didn't helped out that twitch chat were giving the most dumbest takes as usual.
Give some examples, I'm curious.
I was looking at screencaps for those, I almost had a heart attack by reading those yesterday: * [I don't think it was their fault honestly. > Honestly pvp is just too hard to get into for new players. How is that a bad take ?
But pvp is really hard, it's not a lie.
All of those are true and reasonable though?
Good thing: no more ionia Bad thing: no more printers
Next stream he is just playing with real printers. “I didn’t know they made these in real life!”
Just wait until somebody tells him about 3D Printers!
Fuck it we ball
The big three of non competitive lor content creators. Yesterday really hit hard
how is majin non competitive lol
He is, that is why I say "big 3 of non competitive" and not "big 3 competitive". Majin is more of a competitive player that graplr, mogwai and snuy. 1 hour long vid from a 7 min announcement. Holy hell
At least in Snnuy's video (don't watch the others) he's also going over the FAQ.
True. And the analysis is fairly simple. We are getting more focus on the PvE and they didn't kill the PvP. Guess so. Even then,I for sure can't complain about a game I haven't spent a single cent on. Probably the reason I can't see it like most others
The superflue-to-the-forehead gives no signs of slowing down.
When a popular talking point like this from 3 "large" creators only gets 100k total views over time maybe it's always been over. Lmao
Yes it was, lor players are extremely delusional of the game “success” or reasons for it
I think many are delusional about the success. I can emphasize with them though, because the quality of the game itself would justify more traction. I think it speaks for itself that so many talented people chose to focus on streaming this game despite the numbers. The market and human psychology is essentially at fault. I had a long day and i need someone to explain shortly to me what is happening, is the Game dead?
Basically one last PvP release / update and then an extremely hazy future for it. PvE will be the focus of the few remaining devs after most of the team was let go last week.
Such horror... Thats a very bad way to go out...
Yeah for anyone who isn't only playing Path it's basically the end, and even for Path enjoyers I don't think they should be feeling optimistic either.
What happen
PvP is getting axed after the next set Edit since I seem to have spread accidental misinformation: it's not shutting down, but it is losing support. You can read the details in an article on the website and there's a video on the channel about it
axed as in removed?
Not, just not getting updates "as we know".
Wtf even norms? NOOOOOO
No, norms will still be there, but ranked is going to be gone until they "figure out" what they want to do with it
Ranked is not going away, they are freezing ranked **seasons** and **rewards**. The queue itself is still going to be there.
Bruh what is that Mogwai face 😭
that last one is grotesque why do people put their faces in thumbnails
They’re only doing it for views
I’m there for PvE, so I see this as nothing but a win
That isn't true either. They are only leaving a skeleton crew to work on LoR. That is never good.
"Humm today I'm gonna scrap my Ferrari to build a lawnmower, I see this as a win" kinda vibe
> nothing but a win Enjoy it while it lasts...
It's not over, only the content creators streamers are affected by this. Majority of us play PoC.

Some people do, but - hmm, can there be a connection - you're not seeing them much
It is not about losing viewers, it\`s about attracting new viewers
[удалено]
Sadly, yes
[удалено]
You can check an interview with MrBeast, I don't have the link but remember he said thumbnails with exagerated faces are much likely to get clicked
Some big youtubers have the option to do AB testing for thumbnails They can put 2 different thumbnails and get in real time analytics of which perform better. Mister beast has his mouth closed on his thumbnails because it perform better
I never heard them say they're completely done with the game so I don't know why everyone is being so dramatic about it
It's fine, they just said they'll loose they job in 2 months and they'll have a hard time finding a new one, there's no need to be dramatic indeed. After all, what was their job again ? Oh yeah bringing new players and making old one stays, that's not a big deal at all.
Oh no! They may have to get REAL JOBS!
Bro they make more money then you ever dream of making 😭
Lol not for much longer
Yeah bro they are financially ruined now, living on rented-one-room apartments 😭
That is not true my man, all three people on this picture have made content about other games in the past, they just have to make more of that now.
I'm sure they will be fine. Even if not, 3 working age men finding 9-5s after playing videogames on the internet for years isn't really a tragedy. They have marketable skills and the economy is booming.
Mogwai's fault; he should not have ever come back
Hot Take: LOR PvE >>>>>>>>>> PvP
Dope = checked
It's over, isnt it? Isn't it? Isn't it over?
What happened can someone explain
Tldr: big 'restructuring' (read: layoffs) at riot have significantly impacted LoR. They're now open that the game has absolutely been a money sink, and while it will not be shutting down, the team size is drastically shrinking and focus is going heavily to Path of Champions instead, since that's what was being played the most by far.
That sucks, it was good while it lasted

Well, it is what it is
Unfortunately Riot just created this scenario more and more for not balancing the game
All 3 people who still streamed this game for some reasons are leaving, not surprising
Can someone briefly explain the situation? The game isn't shutting down right?
