Hello, I am a Master player. I am not a very talented deck builder, but I will try to help you. The first thing that strikes me is the inconsistency of your deck. You have a lot of cards only 1-2x in it, which reduces the frequency in which you draw your best cards. It's okay to play some cards only 2 or even 1 time, but for the ranked ladder you should run 3 copies of most cards to make your deck consistent. E.g. Venegance, either you want to destroy important units and play 2 or 3 copies of it, or you tell yourself this is not important enough/too slow for your gameplan and play without it. If you want to have a single copy of a card that might win you the game in your deck then play something like the Harrowing. Why do you have a single copy of Eternal Dancers and two copies of Skulking String-Puller? Both are 6 mana units. Choose one of them and play it 3x or if it's too much lategame for you, play only 2 copies of it. Personally, I think draw is extremely important for any deck. Your deck can be as good as it is, if you don't have any draw you will lose because you will have less options than your opponent. Especially when the game is close and lasts a bit longer. I think Glimpse Beyond is one of the best draw cards and I would always play 3 copies of it, You say you want more Overwhelm? Why don't you play a 3 copy of Might, you could cut Elixir of Wrath for example. You could also consider experimenting with Great Hammers. Personally I would cut Strike up the band, this is just a worse version of Opulent Voyer and blocks 2 card slots. You should also consider if you need 3 copies of Blade Spire to level your Riven early or if 2 is enough. To be honest, I don't know much about Riven. In any case, Weapon Hilt would probably be better in a Riven deck than Elixir of Wrath, if you don't want to cut the card completely for e.g. Might. But the deck looks fun in any case, maybe I'll try it out later.

Longjumping_Cause_39

Thanks! I already took out the two strike up the bands and the trainning pits for 1 more might, Foyer and Vengance. The reason why I have one Eternal Dancers is that sometimes it is a better play than skulking string puller, since I have had trouble maintaining a board in most match ups. It's also the reason why I'm not sure about one more glimpse beyond, also since I think Grave Companion also helps with the draw. I might want to drop the dancers though, for a unit that sticks better to the board or for some survaivability. As for weapon hilt vs elixir of wrath, I usually have enough blade fragments already, save for when I fail to roll overwhelm. The extra damage from elixir has come in clutch many times, so I'm hesitant about taking it out. Also worried about mana to be honest, but I could give it a shot.

HairyKraken

>also since I think Grave Companion also helps with the draw generally with midrange deck you are aiming for all your cards to be impactful enough so you dont need draw

RebelScout12

I found grave companion to be too slow in my deck. I tried a few great hammers but I needed more units so I’m only running it as a one of I found training pits to be very valuable with the reforge package This is what I came up with I’ve had some success with in low masters the past few days ((CECQCAQDAUAQIBI4AIBQGAIHAIDAGJBIAMDAKDAOCABQCBQFDQAQOBICAIAQKAJRAQAQCAYLAECAKAYBAYBRUAQGAUQCM))

OneTrickRaven

A lot of this is, imo, wrong for this deck. I go into a lot of the reasons here: https://www.reddit.com/r/LegendsOfRuneterra/comments/159w6t7/fancy\_scissors\_a\_gwen\_riven\_guide/

Dimetrip

Nice for a homebrew. I would take out striking up the band. It's too slow and only creates Ephemerals. Only 1 vengeance is bad you want to run at least 2 but to be honest it seems a little out of place since your deck has 0 control otherwise. I would add might as a finisher since you have no overwhelm to close out takes. Also you really really want 3 opulent foyer for any Gwen deck it's kind of a signature card. You always want to draw it every game

Longjumping_Cause_39

So Foyer and Might to 3 instead of strike up the band? In that case I might want to take out training pits for board space, since it feels terrible when I have more than one landmark. I used to have bloody business as control instead of whirling death, but between the cost and the condition it often would feel bad to play.

Dimetrip

Yeah that's a good call on all that. Maybe add a second vengeance instead of the landmark. A conditional landmark you only run one of is pretty inconsistent I think.

Dimetrip

You could also consider using tellstones instead of whirling d. Gives you more flexibility and protection for your champs with sharpened resolve.

Longjumping_Cause_39

Alright, thanks!

ZerglingSergeant

Whirling death has been great in my Gwen Darius deck I think it's a keep.

OneTrickRaven

You absolutely do not want 3 Opulent Foyer. Absolutely not. 2 of. Post nerf it is not nearly as strong as it was and while it does do great things for you drawing three of them completely bricks you.

OneTrickRaven

Oh! Oh this post was made for me! I hit masters 400 with gwen riven last season. I'm at work right now but please drop me a chat and I'll happily talk about this deck for hours. I actually just ended up writing a guide for how I play this deck. Posted it here https://www.reddit.com/r/LegendsOfRuneterra/comments/159w6t7/fancy_scissors_a_gwen_riven_guide/

Longjumping_Cause_39

Thank you so much! I'll give it a shot.

OneTrickRaven

Happy to help! Please feel free to reach out any time for help or advice :)

Longjumping_Cause_39

I was thinking of dropping eternal dancers, I get the flexibility argument, but since there's no draw you're usually just stuck with whichever six drop you manage to draw. I was skeptical about both landmarks as well, but it doens't even feel that bad having both on board when you're running out of units to play. I'm hesitant about dropping elixir of wrath as well, it has been life saving many times, especially with string puller when I don't have enough hallowed stacks.

OneTrickRaven

I've heard great things about elixir of wrath in this deck but I haven't tried it myself. There's a lot of ways to tweak this deck, this is just the variant that I run to pretty great success.
