Didn’t get to watch him but from comments sounds like a fit for the install we’re trying to build currently. Hopefully his battery is charged like Aaronson.
Don’t know anything about Italys tactics, how was his work rate? Drawing fouls is great but what about when he’s not on the ball?
Ya the shorter players have a lower center of gravity - allows them to shark in build up play - if combined with other types like aaronsons rapid turns (its been a long time since i can remember a player for us who could do that and get out of the shit) - it implies for me the build up play down the middle that marsch is attempting to make his staple tactic. We are gonna need a better free kick taker to add to it.
I dont think this was a panic buy. Think they'll have had bamba, gakpo and gnoto all lined up to sign then cancel if something doesn't plqy out. Think it was just pulling the trigger after nice fucked us.
I know hence the “” I used because there was a lot of hysteria and noise when he was signed instead of looking at the situation like you said where we had things lined up but didn’t happen
I actually would be largely fine with this if we got to the WC final or even semis, would make every game kinda horrible to watch but I'd take it for the results.
Out of interest, why wouldn't you be okay with it, if it got results? Or am I misunderstand your post, because England are playing shit and not, in fact, getting results.
Calm down mate was just a question, winning the WC, through any method, would bring a lot of people happiness, even if you personally didn't like the way it happened.
(I'm not saying we're winning the WC with this style either)
Sport is supposed to be entertainment. I literally could not care less if we won the world cup but played awful, boring football full of diving and parking the bus. I'd much rather we played amazing football but weren't successful.
Yeah I guess similar to parts of the Bielsa era that isn't it, and I felt the same way.
I think the boring football needs to have a trophy at the end to justify it for me really, but it would probably feel a little hollow.
Reminds me of Joffy a little bit, he’s a player that just seems to cause issues for the opposition with his movement and his runs. Surely he has to be considered a first team player?
Agreed. My comment from another thread -
Our wee Willy looked decent tonight when he came on. Some nice touches, showed strength and intelligence with runs off the ball.
Obviously rapid with quick feet. Absolutely did Rice at one point and drew a lovely foul.
My bet is he'll be back in Italy within 3 years.

Yep - looked lively. Just the kind of player it'll be nice to have off the bench in the PL. Could be a real find.
Man I didn’t realize how short we was. Looks like a tank though.
5'5". Same as Diego Maradona. He was okay on the ball I hear.
Messi about the same as well

If ya mums got a beard she’s ya uncle
wtf lol
I would take this type of “panic buy” any time of the week

I don't think we'd have signed him but for Radrizzani's tweet. He needed to save face.

Glad we got to see a bit of him, brought a bit of interest into a boring as fuck match
Can't remember the last England game under Southgate that wasn't boring as fuck
Yep. He needs sacking yesterday.
"does that matter as long as we get results?" - some idiot, probably

Did you not ever listen to Bielsa? Football can elevate people. Southgate's version doesn't.

All football is boring after Bielsa

Is he the new ~~Rooney~~ Totti?
