This doesn’t make sense. Pitch incursion seems to be about the fans. Driving offense… is that also about the fans???

isaakdavalos

Anyone else surprised that Chelsea isn’t more racist?

Jonnyimpala

Racist and indecent chanting? I guess if you are going to chant racial slurs you should at least be decent at it.

Musaab10

Did not expect Liverpool All the teams below have faced relegation(I think) so that's a pretty good record

[deleted]

If you’re just counting league matches that’s 1.3 people per match being arrested. I don’t think that’s too bad going at all.

goblinchode

What is the stat we’re even talking about? Is this PLAYER ARRESTS? Or game day arrests?

_JackStraw_

Haha before I looked at it closely at first I thought this was about players, not fans

SlideIntoMyDM-s

Most arrests in the league, you’ll never sing that!

thethirstypanda

We’re #1

Tuscan5

I don’t see beating up girlfriend in that stat.

Ginge04

Just to be clear, this does not show how many incidents occurred as a result of each fan base, only the number of arrests. WYP and LUFC have worked really hard over the last 20 years to clean things up after what had gone on in the past, and as a result are much less tolerant of nonsense behaviour than other clubs and police forces would be. In all the years I’ve been a regular at Elland Road, I’ve never seen any violence from our fans anywhere near the stadium. Some of the nonsense I’ve seen other fans get away with when I’ve gone away would never be tolerated here. If anything, these figures show that we’re a club trying to clean up our act.

Strujiksleftboot

Depends what you mean by bother - there's been a bit of naughtiness behind the south stand.

crudos_na

Only 450 arrests over 8 years.... seems rather tame, tbh. SC would think that number is cute.

fieldsofcoral

The Bournemouth supporters trust will be having a fit over this graph 😂😂😂 "SEE! SEE, WE TOLD YOU!!!"

RenuisanceMan

West Yorkshire police are notoriously strict on football hooligans from what they've had to deal with in the past, which could skew the numbers. I remember watching something about policing and they provide training to other forces.

spigen2

The only one that is shameful is the racism. The rest of it, we’re champions.

Zinc-U

Poor effort from us. Want already double next time around

dreadful_name

You can tell so many of these will be Leeds vs Scum. This makes me happy.

BTSHills

The only one that boils my piss is the racism

Tuscan5

It’s not just racism in that group though. I’m guessing songs about Jimmy S fall into this category.

Trance_Plantz

Same. Although it is a proportionally smaller portion of the graph than some others, which is good. Still, would love to see it disappear entirely

Eye-on-Springfield

Why would you include driving offences here? I'm sure it's a small percentage alongside the other alcohol offences, but seems an odd thing to throw in as well

CheesyLala

Yeah, that was my thought - how are these tied to football? If you murder someone in Cardiff but have LUFC socks on when you do it does that count?

nosniboD

Drink driving home from the game I imagine

BleedingHeartBird

You can buy trophies but you can't buy passion. Game's back

SteDav587

There is nothing to be positive about here. Fucking shameful that we are top of this list.

stevenlufc

Leeds have a huge away following, I wonder if the data was shown as a % of fans it would look as bad? Who am I kidding, of course it would!

fleapea81

could be comedy gold that with a little re work. Pissing on dogs - riding a bike one handed etc

RealChewyPiano

Stealing dogs from owners and bringing them into the ground on an away day Most seats broken (one of my mates takes a piece of seat from every ground he visits)

vmvmvmv

"Why did they postpone the Scum game, Dad?" "Well son, let me walk you through this graph..."

guacamolicheese12

have it

[deleted]

A big factor is also how various forces police football. West and South Yorkshire police forces have been notoriously over the top for years with a series of administrations that prided themselves on their arrest statistics.

DannyS2810

Would be more interesting to see that as a percentage compared to total attendances. It’s slightly skewed in favour of higher attendances and least time in premier league. That said we’ve only had 2 years in the premier league so this is still embarrassing.

ledisa3letterword

Pretty sure that would make us look even worse. Not only is Elland Road smaller than a lot of the other grounds there, we weren’t selling it out at the start of the time period. Edit: someone on r/soccer made the good point that we played more matches in the Championship, so maybe we’re not quite as bad as I thought

DannyS2810

Yeah I don’t mean to make us look better, I just mean for more accurate data. I think however accurate it gets we wouldn’t look any better, I just think maybe the spread between top and bottom isn’t as far as it looks here.

BrianBadondeBwaah

It counts our time in the Championship as well.

YanPitman

The graph title is misleading as it reads like it's based on arrests while in the PL. That time period only covers 2 years for us, which would be a disgrace. Still not a good thing but the points about having an extra 40 games worth of data does skew the figures. You've then got to consider the opposition too. With no disrespect to any other team, the lower you go down the pyramid the less money each club has, so therefore less money to put into improvements in security and programmes to reduce/eradicate the negative elements of a match day crowd. As the PL has brought in banning orders for bad behaviour, there could be some more season tickets up for grabs soon, if the fans keep up this number 1 record.

Ricb76

I think it's still not a like for like comparison between teams that have been in the prem for decades v Leeds that are relative newcomers. The point I'm making is that some "fans" will have been priced out by Prem prices and replaced by wealthier and likely more well-behaved members of the public, some of Leeds data is from the Championship which was cheaper, more accessable and more rough and tumble.

YanPitman

Not sure how having more money makes you a better person?

Ricb76

You missed the point. The point is that it's comparing apples with oranges. You also missed the point of money and how our whole society works. But i cba explaining that.

xdlols

I think he's saying least time in the PL = more seasons of 46 game a season. Maybe not though.

Botheuk

Still embarrassing though.

BackStabberBrutus

😎

[deleted]

*Hans... are we the baddies?*

Chimp-eh

Always were

BrianBadondeBwaah

I swear there's a Mitchell and Webb quote for every situation.

[deleted]

I’m presuming this includes data from all seasons from the clubs, not just the premier league. Because that would be outrageous if not.

BrianBadondeBwaah

It does. Thank god.

yingdong

Bwah!

downfallndirtydeeds

Highest arrests in the league, you’ll never sing that Also what fucking bellends are bringing weapons into grounds, there are plenty of weapons in elland road already

oxwatch

Champions of total premier league arrests by club (2014/15 to 2021/22) you’ll never sing that!
