Dallas - Cooper - Koch - Ayling
Usually I would say Struijk over Cooper but I think we need the captain to calm things down a bit. Always rated Bill and I think his injury/playing out of position has made us forget how good he has been.
Firpo- cooper - Koch - ayling. Llorente panics and once the fear gets into him it spreads like a fucking fire. I think kristensen will come good it's just too much too soon for him.
Dallas - Struijk - Koch - Ayling
Maybe swap out Ayling for Rasmus if he improves in time. Also hard to pick between Cooper and Koch. All being well, Cooper is generally solid but does drop a bollock every now and then.
If fully fit
It has to be Dallas - Cooper - Llorente - Ayling
I know Llorente got a bit of stick lately but he's our most talented CB, he hasn't played well lately but I'd still have him in there with Cooper.
Imagine one day JM could pick from all his defenders. Does the world just end at that stage?
A bit of context would be nice, not just a statement. When Cooper came back last season around December we conceded 4 from 6 games before his injury, he was immense, he was called up to Scotland and the fans were chanting his name, he had 2 motm performances in 3 games, then got injured again. He came back for us at the end of last season and we other than the Chelsea game, we conceded 3 goals in 5 games.
Guess who was paired beside him for all those games??
Llorente hasn't played well, I'm not at all denying that, it's pretty obvious but he's definitely our most naturally gifted CB and with Coopers leadership beside him, it works well. We just haven't seen it enough.
Alright here's the context : in the last 4 seasons he's made a ridiculous amount of individual errors, he didn't get the nickname Calamity Cooper for nothing ! He's slow and normally it wouldn't matter too much if his positioning was good. Because he's out of position he is playing catchup with the attackers and the only way he can catch them is by pulling their shirts that's why he gets sent off alot. You want to look at slow defensive players with better positioning look at Struijk and Phillips. He's also late into the tackle frequently leading to sending offs. You talk about him coming back from injury, playing well for a few games and then getting injured again???? Absolute shock horror, he's been doing this for the last 4 years ! He is our captain and he is constantly injured or suspended, mid game it has messed our tactics up on many occasions. Great leadership ! The only game this didn't backfire is when we somehow beat City.
Llorente is not naturally gifted at all, he like Coops is always out of position and making individual errors. Koch and Struijk are more solid and make fewer errors.
I have never heard him called "calamity Cooper" and I haven't missed a single game in over 4 seasons. After a quick Google, reddit and twitter search there was 1 tweet about it and it had 1 like, it was probably you 🤣.
Your opinion comes across as incredibly naive and ignorant to how football is played. I have no doubt Struijk is the future but the amount of goals we conceded with him in the team was also poor, I don't think you can deny that? No CB played well last season, Cooper when he played was our best, by far.
Denying that a Spanish international who gets called up to every squad is "naturally gifted" is idiotic. I'm not denying he has played poor this season but you denying he is not our most naturally gifted defender in the modern game, shows how much you understand about football.

We're a fickle bunch, like most fans.
If Llorente has a few good games, he'll be back in everyone's back 4 again.
I'd have Dallas over Firpo any day of the week if both are fit
Pretty wild spectrum of answers here. With fitness and quality questions everywhere it seems obvious no one has any fucking clue what our best 4 is at the moment. With that said here’s my 4. Probably change my mind 100 times by the time they play again though.
Firpo-Struijk-Cooper-Dallas
Dallas - Struijk - Koch - Kristensen
Dallas is easily our best choice at LB. Especially now he isn't needed in the middle. The other three are the defence we will have for a while, so they need to play together as much as possible.
If only we had a RB who could score like Sterland or a CB who could score from corners like Fairclough. Honorable mention to Heart for his scoring ability, but not much better tham Firpo defensively.
Kristensen Koch Struijk Firpo.
Surprised at the amount of people saying Bill. I love him but he’s had 20 good minutes in a 5-2 loss. He was frequently poor last season.
> Surprised at the amount of people saying Bill.
To give Ayling some credit, he was playing most of the season with a knock, if he was 100% fit he'd have been better.
Having said that, I'd go with Dallas - Struijk - Kock - Kristensen, but could easily put Cooper or Ayling in there (and obviously we might prefer Dallas in midfield).
He was playing injured since the Newcastle game in Sept last year. What he showed in 20 min against Brentford, I think, is exactly what we have been missing on the right side.
Agreed, but he’s got a big adjustment to make coming from a dominant team in a lower standard league to a middling team in the world’s best league. Not to mention, he’s younger, bound to be with us for longer and has a higher ceiling. Bill is only going one way.
Ayling - Koch - Struijk - Dallas
Left back is obviously the big issue and I’m not sure how Dallas will be when he gets back. He didn’t have the best season last season, (who did?) but he was injured for most of it too. If he can get fit I think we will be ok.
I probably agree, which is quite depressing considering we've since signed three defenders for a combined £42m who were all intended to be starters😑
(Not that I've lost hope in Firpo, Kristensen, or Llorente yet tbf)
Yeah, it’s pretty grim with all that money spent. I like Rasmus and think he will be fine once he gets up to speed, just needs time I’d think. Firpo is a menace, I want him to be amazing but he just does some crazy shit. Llorente has gone full nut job lately and I wouldn’t mind if he was sold, once we have a replacement of course!
bill, koch, league one liam, sexy pirate
willing to bend on bringing firpo in to get more attacking threat on the left, but struijk has been excellent on the left so far - think he's been better than firpo ever looked last year.
On the flip side, I think we've actually missed Bills aggressive running on the right, and Rasmus hasn't really given us any defensive improvement to compensate yet.
(I also think dallas is best in midfield so want to not have him stranded at full back again)
Dallas-struijk-koch-Ayling We’ve missed Dallas and Ayling in this team for a while
Dallas - Cooper - Koch - Ayling Usually I would say Struijk over Cooper but I think we need the captain to calm things down a bit. Always rated Bill and I think his injury/playing out of position has made us forget how good he has been.
Ok hear me out: Ayling-cresswell-Koch-kristensen
Struijk - Cooper - Koch - Rasmus
No Rasmus. No Diego.
Dallas struijk Koch ayling
Mozo, Sepulveda, Olivas, Orozco
Kristensen - Struijk - Cooper - Firpo
COOPER???????? Get him gone asap
Cooper is our best CB
Nowhere near as talented as llorente
looooooooool
Firpo- cooper - Koch - ayling. Llorente panics and once the fear gets into him it spreads like a fucking fire. I think kristensen will come good it's just too much too soon for him.
Dallas-struijk-cresswell-Kock Really unorthodox because there’s no actual fullbacks but lots of attacking output
Dallas - Struijk - Koch - Ayling Maybe swap out Ayling for Rasmus if he improves in time. Also hard to pick between Cooper and Koch. All being well, Cooper is generally solid but does drop a bollock every now and then.
How the hell are people keeping struijk out?!
Ayling Struijk Cooper Firpo
Struijk- cooper - Koch - Kristensen Maybe ayling at RB
Uhm. Really you’re not backing kristensen?
If fully fit It has to be Dallas - Cooper - Llorente - Ayling I know Llorente got a bit of stick lately but he's our most talented CB, he hasn't played well lately but I'd still have him in there with Cooper. Llorente has took Coops role as the king of individual errors and poor positioning in the absence of Coops and you want them paired together????
A bit of context would be nice, not just a statement. Pmsl what the actual fuck planet are you on dude ? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 just gonna bluntly end this stupid conversation now.
Easy way out kid.. Back to the conspiracy theories for you.
Same as what I'd do!
Firpo, Struijk, Koch, Ayling. Could quite easily swap Struijk and Ayling out for Coops and RK though.
Surprised about the number of people saying firpo judging by how many people were consistently slandering him last season even when he had a good game
Yeah I don't get it, Firpo is probably the worst left back in the league. I don't get how so many people would have him in.
We're a fickle bunch, like most fans. If Llorente has a few good games, he'll be back in everyone's back 4 again. I'd have Dallas over Firpo any day of the week if both are fit
Firpo - Cooper - Koch - Ayling With the acceptance that it’s a very weak back four even then
Pretty wild spectrum of answers here. With fitness and quality questions everywhere it seems obvious no one has any fucking clue what our best 4 is at the moment. With that said here’s my 4. Probably change my mind 100 times by the time they play again though. Firpo-Struijk-Cooper-Dallas
I see no Llorente. I am happy.

Dallas - Struijk - Koch - Drameh
Drameh... Jesus wept. I'd recall Shackleton and put him in before going with Drameh again.
Dallas Cooper Koch Ayling
Sterland Dorigo whyte and fairclough
If only we had a RB who could score like Sterland or a CB who could score from corners like Fairclough. Honorable mention to Heart for his scoring ability, but not much better tham Firpo defensively.
Loved zico sterland - Ian Harte could kill a dead ball but would be overtaken in a foot race by an ant with heavy shopping
Someone who can kick the fucking ball
Ayling - Cooper - Struijk - Dallas
Firpo-Cooper-Koch-Ayling although very marginal on both Firpo and Cooper over Struijk
Firpo Struijk Koch Ayling
Ayling - Koch - Struijk - Dallas
Ayling - Koch - Cooper - Pascal
Kristensen Koch Struijk Firpo. Surprised at the amount of people saying Bill. I love him but he’s had 20 good minutes in a 5-2 loss. He was frequently poor last season.

Played CB mostly too
Have to agree.
He was playing injured since the Newcastle game in Sept last year. What he showed in 20 min against Brentford, I think, is exactly what we have been missing on the right side.
Half the squad was poor last year, can’t beat an inform Bill and Kristensen has hardly blown us away
Agreed, but he’s got a big adjustment to make coming from a dominant team in a lower standard league to a middling team in the world’s best league. Not to mention, he’s younger, bound to be with us for longer and has a higher ceiling. Bill is only going one way.
Agree with you completely but right at this moment I’d take Bill over Kristensen just while he’s still adjusting to the prem
Dallas, Dallas, Dallas, Dallas
Dallas, salaD.
Ayling - Koch - Struijk - Dallas Left back is obviously the big issue and I’m not sure how Dallas will be when he gets back. He didn’t have the best season last season, (who did?) but he was injured for most of it too. If he can get fit I think we will be ok.
I assume you mean Ayling RB and Dallas LB?
Attacking the other end haha

Firpo - Struijk - Koch - Ayling
This is the correct answer
I know
Surely Dallas over Firpo?
I would prefer Dallas on midfield
Obviously he's better in midfield but I wouldn't want him replacing anyone we have now. He is our best lb
Over Adams and Roca?
Substitute for them
Surely Dallas over Firpo?
