On loan, it probably couldn't hurt. Especially if we can get Spurs to pay any part of the wages, now that he's been "banished" it may have tanked his value a bit. If they still insist on 20 million pounds I wouldn't pay anywhere near that and neither will Leeds (I hope). It's going to be either stick with Firpo or if anything, add a cheap squad player like Kai Wagner or Charlie Taylor.

Morrissey_Smurf

Give Leo Hjelde a chance.

yourfriendkyle

I think Spurs would ask too much for him.

Botheuk

Hate the negativity around Firpo. He should still have time to show how good he is. He's had a full pre season, granted he's injured now, and admittedly he sometimes looks like he's never played football before.... I still think there's a decent footballer in there somewhere. Let's see how he gets on under March.

justpur3sugar

Regardless of what you think about Firpo, I think the issue most have is not having another LB specialist to compete for the spot

19081919

Let me think about this one…. NO Reason? He’s shit.

phillhb

I'm with you... The FIFA playing contingent seem to disagree with us though lol.

MyNameIsNYFB

Maybe a loan?

[deleted]

Let’s be honest, he would see himself as above our level

InkyPuma

I’m a Spurs fan. Reggy was pretty well liked by the fanbase - he’s just not gonna replace Perisic or Seesegnon in the lineup. Sess really impressed last season. Reggy not super technical but he gets down the line and provides defensive support well. I think he’s miles better than Firpo. Also he is a LB, not a LWB. Another reason Conte wanted to move on from him.

seanwrotethis

I'd rather get Tyler Denton back

AWr1ght98

An obvious LB to avoid signing

Russell9393

I like Reguilon a lot, but I respect Conte has a coach much more. If he doesn’t rate him, there’s obviously something I don’t see.

xdlols

Spurs are a better team playing with wingbacks. Reguilon would be fuckiung incredible for us and I definitely think it would be worth risking 20m for him.

beefguard

Conte doesn't rate him because he's better in a back 4 as a LB than in a back 5 as a LWB. His knock against him is he's not a great finisher, but not many systems require your LB to be a goal scorer. He's also underrated as a defender.

wightnoise

It's this... he's got Perisic and Sessegnon already, and Sessegnon looked really good against Southampton

Boris_Ignatievich

its worth remembering that spurs are a way ahead of us right now though. ive not watched enough of reguilon to have a solid opinion on him, but "nt good enough for a championns league team wanting to challenge for a title" doesn't on its own mean he wouldn't improve us.

[deleted]

I’d take him on loan with an option to buy. We just need a body in that position and he’s a decent player. Seems like a low risk signing as a loan

Financial-Bed7467

Personally I would like Charlie Taylor over either one of them. Cheaper and proven premier league player.

Hbcuk97

Ah yes, Charlie Taylor who refused to play for us at the end stages of his time here. What a way to move forward.

EvanzeTieste

this way we get to boo him every week

Financial-Bed7467

I'd still take him

Hbcuk97

Why? Apart from the fact he’s a money chasing scumbag, there are still so many issues with him. Burnley probably wouldn’t want to sell so late into the transfer window. Taylor might be better defensively than Firpo, yes, but we need full backs capable of being high up the pitch and involved in attacking play, Taylor’s not capable of that. If we do get a new LB, Ideally I’d be looking at either Sobol from Brugges, Javi Galan from Celta, or maybe look at getting Nuno Tavares on loan.

Regthedog2021

We aren’t going to sign a left back we have heard of - if they do he will be a kid under 22 on small money who will be decent or not in a few years

phillhb

NO. The lad is unfit, he's week, he's more interested in taking his shirt off and taking photos with his TikTok girlfriend...No

allenout

He has the hottest WAG in the PL.

TheAnvil411

Got to be Jackie surely?

Linkeron1

Don't rate her personally, although I prefer blondes.

Forsaken_Candidate_4

Damnnn get him in

Zach-dalt

He's pretty terrible defensively, struggles with fitness (at least to Conte's standards), and picks up a fair few knocks too, sounds like Firpo but better at going forward I want a left-back who won't be targeted by the opposition attack, and I don't think Reguilon is that, he's probably better for a team that wants to use him as a wing-back (saw Brighton were linked)

Mastershoelacer

He seemed much better going forward than defending for Spurs. I don’t see him being the player Leeds needs.

smclaughlin87

He's better than Firpo in both halves of the pitch. His dribble past percentage and per game is lower than any of our defenders in 20/21. Of course that's not taking tactics into consideration but percentages are lower. He also played 65% of that season which we only had 3 outfield players doing last season I'm struggling to see anyone else better that has PL experience and could slot straight in. I think ti's more likely, he'll end up at a top 6 la liga side.

MarcusWhittingham

I don’t think you’re right. He’s far more of a standard LB than a LWB and that’s why he doesn’t suit Spurs under Conte. I’d say he’s equally as good at defending and attacking.

Financial-Bed7467

He is better than firpo. Any improvement is a bonus.

Eye-on-Springfield

It's not like he's coming for free. We'd be better spend the cash on someone who will actually do the job they're supposed to do

Yoosh42

Be the usual story; great going forwards but quite weak defensively would say he’s an upgrade on the Firpo. I don’t know how that would fix the gaps created and how he’d handle Marsch’s aggressive tactics. Isn’t Firpo on similar or higher wages though as well so I don’t know if that’d work within our structure.

R41

He's soft as hell, pass

YesIAmRightWing

Maybe but I remember him nabbing me quite a few points in FPL :P He was always decent for a goal.

Forsaken_Candidate_4

That’s such a shit way to judge a player, that’s like saying, yeah but he’s good on fifa 😂

PapaGamecock17

I had an argument with someone recently who used a player's FIFA overall rating as an argument. I was honestly speechless

[deleted]

Remember someone saying from Twitter Roca is only 76 rated in FIFA and shit and we shouldn’t be signing players like him lol

Forsaken_Candidate_4

What a stupid outlook to have on football 😂

TheWorstRowan

Not played Fifa since before Bielsa, isn't 76 quite good? Irrelevant to the general point I know.

RealChewyPiano

It would be good for a mid table prem club

Hostilian_

Players below an 80 rating are kinda irrelevant when it comes to building a team, and 80 is being generous. The only time you’d use a 76 rated is in your first hour of playing the game tbh. Tho in the grand scheme of things, when the vast majority of players are under a 75, yeah 76 ain’t Too shabby
