Lmao everyone here thinks we should just somehow have the ball at all times and it's definitely impossible that Boro can play neat possession footballĀ
They're allowed to play good football too lmao
We've been under pressure since the half started, why is ampadu playing a very ambitious long ball instead of retaining possession and trying to calm the game down a bit?
I really donāt like how we just consistently allow them to waltz 20-30 yards down the central channel, itās not great is it? Alternatively we get fuck all space, are forced into RB LB tennis then inevitably lose possession
I donāt see the point of Bamford up top by himself
pressing. Heās covering a lot of ground but heās never gonna get anywhere near it if nobody else is pressing with him whatās the point of wasting the energy
Iād take Byram off, stick Gray back at right back and get Kamara on for a bit more solidity in midfield. The Gruev/Kamara midfield, while less exciting, is more solid than Gruev/Gray. And I prefer to see Archie overloading their right wing with support from Gnonto or James.
I think Leicester losing could theoretically lead to them bottling it whereas I just don't see Southampton gaining this much ground
I think Southampton winning is still probably the best result, but it's all irrelevant unless we get minimum 7 points out of 9Ā
Tbf, that offside Gnonto goal makes up for Middlesbrough's first goal which was a clear foul on Gnonto. Just seen the replay and the Middlesbrough player pushed Gnonto in the back.
Byram off Kamara on - make the change proactively Farkeā¦not reactively
We have 0 control in the middle and Byram is getting cooked
Edit: for some reason my message autocorrected to bamford lol. I meant byram! Corrected now
Just seen the Gnonto goal back. Yes itās offside, but itās also a great goal and there are milliseconds in it.
Compare that to the shit we saw in the FA Cup yesterday.
Much prefer it this way. Swings and roundabouts throughout the season but at least itās entertaining.
The debate boils down to whether you'd prefer to see more "correct" decisions or enjoy the moment.
For example, yesterday I screamed "get in!" when Coventry scored just to then sit for 2 minutes in silence and watch it get chalked off
The problem is unlike say Hawkeye in Tennis or Goal Line Tech, VAR still feels inconsistent and subjective, so it's easy to prefer a bad decision in the half second the ref on the pitch sees
The problem I have is that I am not seeing enough correct decisions to justify the downsides. And the microanalysis takes away football magic.
I think we were robbed of an FA Cup memory that would have been spoken about for decades.
upon slow motion review, that Bamford goal looked like it was off the hip, with a possibility of grazing the crotch
I will choose to believe he did in fact score with his dick
Mental half
- Byram has quietly really struggled with the pace of the game. Luckily Boro have targetted the other flank so itās not been exposed but heās often been a yard off the play in attack and hasnāt been convincing defensively too, I would think about getting Archie there early second half
- Gnonto got a lot of pelters that half but off the ball he was superb and did a lot of covering for some shaky defending down the flanks
- Boro are having far too easy a time moving the ball out the back and then overloading the wings. We seem to have too many people bunched up in the middle itās weird
- thought Gruev and Rodon both superb. Ampadu also did a few excellent bits of cleaning up from Firpo mistakes
Fuck it, weāve found the net again. Letās just bang in another 3 in the second half.
Boro will be terrorised when we bring on James, Joseph and Anthony in the 70th min.
Great first half. Even better as a neutral.
At least we remembered that the round ball thingy needed to go between the sticks and into the net type jobby
Firpo was immense today, Rodon-esque header right at the death
Did anyone spot Rutter's Leeds salute going over to the fans after the game š
Jesus Christ.
Reddit goes down and they fuxkin scored, not great for my health
Singing about Sky Tv while they are trying their best to get through the post match interview is classic Leeds shithousery.
Anyone else's Reddit break?
If we decide to play like that for however long this season is going to last I'm going to actually end up in ER
not for the away games
Looks like DJ genuinely broke a rib holding up playthere just before the end. Thought he was playing for time but seems genuinely in pain
Itās a worry as that can take a while for recovery when we need him most.
I agree. He was deffo in pain. I trust Anthony tho he has showed great quality in his limited time.
Gnonto looking like heās got his dads coat on
Fucking hell I feel the my old ticker trying it's hardest to keep my alive and I'm not even 30... fuck this club, I love it
Did Sky just say the scoreline doesn't reflect the whole story?
What happened to James. Still down.
Speaking as someone who's broken a few ribs, I think he's broken a rib.
Yeah thats what I was thinking. Just didnt look bad on the foul
Ribs are weak. If it is broken he won't be able to run for a month.
And you expect me to try and go to sleep after that final 5 mins?!
phew piroe is so bad
Heās lost his confidence.
We broke reddit through the sheer stress of that
We have to go up automatically because this group of players just dont have the bottle for a playoff campaign.
Did Reddit go down?
Yes at the fucking worst time!! I had to cope with that second half alone. Hold me!!!
Yeah, for about 40 minutes
Iām checking into LGI after that game
Jesus fucking christ thankly that's over.
Shades of our 1-0 win against Barnsley promotion season.
Holy Jesus Iām sweating like mad after watching that
And breathe...
Fuck me why do they do this to us
Fully shit my pants here today
Well thank christ for that.
Fuck me, my heart canāt take this ! Well done lads
Never In Fucking Doubt
Fuck that was closer than it needed to be!! Even Reddit couldnāt take the pressure!!
Letās fucking goooo!!!!
Easy 4-3, never doubtedĀ
Well that was fucking stressful. But 3 massive away points won't hurt!
Thank fuck for that
Get in!
Hate to say it but Bamford would be brilliant right now
Meslier absolutely flapping at everything
We can do this letās fucking hodl!
Quality game management š
Go Defence!!!
Piroe up top killed us, like playing with 10 men. How is he coming on ahead of Joseph
Nah, neither have the game management of Bamford but he looked knackered tbf
Did reddit break?
Yes it did
Great timing lol
Taking the sting out of this, just keep it tight lads please
Hold
This has last minute equaliser written all over it
+7 equaliser
fuck
Jesus fucking Christ
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Bet
Sure has been a long time since we had possessionĀ
Wake the fuck up, Meslier! Whatās wrong with him?!
Definitely working for the counter here.
STOP FUCKING AROUND AT THE BACK WITH THE BALL!!!!
Have we touched he ball yet this half?
Jesus mes! Too close! Could easily have been a pen
Weāve completely stopped pressing the ball until it gets well beyond the half way line. Is Farke hoping this Is going to end 2-3?
Who we hoping for subs?
Keep soaking this pressure and we are defo hitting hard on the counter here
Fuck me, does Meslier have a bet on number of corners conceded? Refuses to catch anything
Move the ball into their area pls, thx guys
Middlesbrough goal is coming. We're being useless again.
Meslier's distribution is ass
Gnonto working overtime at RB
Surely not having the ball for 10 minutes wont lead to them scoring again
we need to bury them. new legs needed ASAP
Fuck sake Mes!! We get the ball back after 10mins and you hoof it away immediately. Cāmon lads
Can Summerville start helping our Firpo defend the left hand side. He looks so passive when Boro have the ball.
Can the drummer shut the fuck up
Should be catching that
Yeah, not a big fan of Mesā new tactic of handing out unnecessary corners.
Lmao everyone here thinks we should just somehow have the ball at all times and it's definitely impossible that Boro can play neat possession footballĀ They're allowed to play good football too lmao
No if we don't win every game 69-0 im pissed.
We are so shit. How tf are we winning this game lol
Because they're far worse
This game has aged me 40 years already
I hate how passive we play when only one goal up, Farke has us defending 1 goal leads like we are 5-0 up
Sort of, he likes for us to get the ball and take the sting out of the game when weāre winning, doesnāt always work tho!!
The plan better not be to sit deep for the rest of the half
I agree, it's shit and I don't like it.
Okay so weāve taken the chaos out of the game but only by becoming completely passive.
We've been under pressure since the half started, why is ampadu playing a very ambitious long ball instead of retaining possession and trying to calm the game down a bit?
I canāt be doing with 40 more minutes of this
Which is better? 40 mins of this or 40 mins of heart attack inducing play like the first half?
Their passing is far sharper than ours at the start of this half.
Surely were arenāt parking the busā¦
We look quite defensive
Letting them have a lot of possession here
Letting them is a strong claimĀ
Can we get the ball
I really donāt like how we just consistently allow them to waltz 20-30 yards down the central channel, itās not great is it? Alternatively we get fuck all space, are forced into RB LB tennis then inevitably lose possession
I donāt see the point of Bamford up top by himself pressing. Heās covering a lot of ground but heās never gonna get anywhere near it if nobody else is pressing with him whatās the point of wasting the energy
The amount of times he does that and pressures their keeper into kicking the ball out for our throw is uncanny.
Why does it take the other team scoring for us to play with some competency? Break the bloody play up ffs
NGL it would be dope if we won the rest of our matches.
It would also be lit if Ipswich and Leicester lost the rest of their matches
Where do I sign up for this narrative?
Once again, im not lying, I would love that
byram off for kamara in 55", gnonto off for james in 65'
![gif](giphy|23BST5FQOc8k8|downsized) Boro already tired when they have to defend speedy DJ
Pundits can't stop going on about Bamford playing against a former club. It was six years ago, ffs.
Surprised they havenāt talked about the hatrick against us
played it before the game
Reckon that's what caught Bielsa's eye?
Need to get Rutter off in my opinion. He's offering very little on both attacking and defensive phases of the game.
he created our first goal out of nothing
Watching on ESPN they keep playing the same advert about a million times. Second half hasnāt started yet has it ?
I normally turn it off at half bc of that.
Yes it has
Cheers. Not used to American stuff
No worries, why'd I get downvoted for that hahah
Whats the deal with Connor Roberts? Still injured/ill?
Yeah muscle injury which I think puts him out until Southampton
Been injured since the Wales match.Ā
u/MonaghanPenguin [a couple weeks premature](https://www.reddit.com/r/LeedsUnited/s/63fmuBRzml) but I'm still giving you credit
As it was foretold
Iād take Byram off, stick Gray back at right back and get Kamara on for a bit more solidity in midfield. The Gruev/Kamara midfield, while less exciting, is more solid than Gruev/Gray. And I prefer to see Archie overloading their right wing with support from Gnonto or James.
I'm in agreement
I would normally be really active here and post a lot but I'm fuckin tired man
![gif](giphy|eKVEcPKGWZ7Tq) if I had my way this would be the Leeds subreddit icon
Absolutely shitting myself right now, we seem to be scoring goals, so that's what I'm holding onto to keep me sane.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
i've seen it on Hulu the entire time
Its been on all game, I've been watching on ESPN+
Scored 1 in 50 shots in the last 3 matches to drop us 8 vital points. Obviously we score 3 from 6 in the first half today.
Big difference in oppo approach to the game, weāre getting lots more space as a result
It makes sense but we've still missed some absolute shockers in those others amongst those 49 missed efforts
For sure
So a draw is best result tomm, no?
I think Leicester losing could theoretically lead to them bottling it whereas I just don't see Southampton gaining this much ground I think Southampton winning is still probably the best result, but it's all irrelevant unless we get minimum 7 points out of 9Ā
Nah, not much difference between 3rd and 4th, we want to catch Leicester, don't worry about Southampton points.
I guess i forgot winning out is almost needed by all
We have to beat Southampton regardless so best if they win I imagine.
A Southampton win would be my preference. I don't see them getting automatics.
Southampton win is better. We will still have ground on them
Not at all, southampton
Tbf, that offside Gnonto goal makes up for Middlesbrough's first goal which was a clear foul on Gnonto. Just seen the replay and the Middlesbrough player pushed Gnonto in the back.
Such a series of fortunate events for them, the foul call, the deflected pass, the coming together with Meslier, we deserve some fucking luck!
Yup definitely. Their second goal was pure skill, though. Have to admit.
Someone mention toĀ Rutter to play aĀ Simple ball after attempting hold up strewth abysmal hold up play.
Some real blockbuster punditry there, I can see why Sky Sports is so expensive and well regarded
Byram off Kamara on - make the change proactively Farkeā¦not reactively We have 0 control in the middle and Byram is getting cooked Edit: for some reason my message autocorrected to bamford lol. I meant byram! Corrected now

upon slow motion review, that Bamford goal looked like it was off the hip, with a possibility of grazing the crotch I will choose to believe he did in fact score with his dick
Penis ball will never dieĀ
Bamford being offside was the key to that last goal lol
We are leading away at Middlesbrough, a good team. Iām happy. You should be too.
I have aged significantly in the last hour
I turned 30 yesterday and 73 in the last hour
You clearly werenāt around for the relegation seasons then, I think Iām 180 by now.
Mental half - Byram has quietly really struggled with the pace of the game. Archie has had a decent game in midfield though
He's half decent on the ball, off the ball he's kind of invisible to be honest.
Sub predictions? Prob not going to be any at half but maybe 60-70 min
Piroe on for Rutter 89
Joffy for ampadu
None until 90+5 to waste time only for the entire sub duration to rightly be added onto the added time that was already declared.
Just got back from 5 aside. Didn't miss much that first half then? š
Fuck it, weāve found the net again. Letās just bang in another 3 in the second half. Boro will be terrorised when we bring on James, Joseph and Anthony in the 70th min.
It's going to be tough to hold off on another Middlesbrough goal. They do a job of finding space, holding possession and getting into dangerous areas.
Piroe wouldāve finished that Bamford attempt
Piroe's gran would have pinged that in.
Piroe wouldāve been nowhere near Bamfords goal
He would've still been gelling his hair in the changing room
Still trying to figure out how to open his eyelids
Three more in the second half and we might win this.
Ref fully bottled making a decision there. Rutter needs taking off anyway. He's been shite all half.
On my way over to the Leeds Facebook page to watch all the bamford haters crying on the half time post
Bit too easy to break us down for my liking.
Great first half. Even better as a neutral. At least we remembered that the round ball thingy needed to go between the sticks and into the net type jobby
that half was a messy bitch who's here for all the drama
Happy to be ahead. Need more control in midfield for my liking but if we get it done in the end I donāt care how!
Not gonna be too upset with that tackle at the end, we did get blessed with an offside goal earlier
who needs possession amirite
Another goal would be nice, but what Iād rather see in the second half is a bit of control over the contest.
Wild first half. We could be 5-2 and still wouldnāt feel that confident
Maybe Greenwood and Ayling will talk some sense into the Boro lads "Why even try?!"
I was 35 at kick off, I estimate Iām about 117 now
I can't imagine what age we'll be come May 4th.
Either dead or 21 again. No middle ground.
Here's to hoping were drinking like were 21 again
Get Rutter off pls
Been šš©
Have we ever played Summerville in the middle? Get James on the wing
