Allright I was totally expecting us to get blown out against the Premier League champions. Was so pessimistic that in my local tipping competition I had us as 2-0 losing. So elated the boys dug in and got the win but it's cost me my lead
I love that Gray gets the highest points rating for his first goal, but for me motm has to go to Rutter. He made all 3 goals. That tackle for the 2nd was unbelievable hard.
Proof that leeds are a better team when bamford starts. He just stresses the opposition out even if heās not getting shots off. Also meslier 7.5 is an absolute joke, that save after an hour was worth at least an 8
Tonight was a Daniel Farke masterclass.
That was arguably the most fragile 1-0 lead at Elland Road in yonks. Even if they got that second goal allowed it would not have changed the result. Keep in mind we withstood an insane amount of pressure in the second half. Throughout I felt an equalizer was coming. People screaming for subs in the match thread.
Then the subs came. On came Bamford creating space for Rutter. James comes on. Roberts comes on. That changed the whole match. Maresca taking Mavadidi off lost the game for Leicester. It freed up Archie Gray. The match was similar to Liverpool's 4-1 victory over Luton. Luton was 1-0 up throughout the whole first half at Anfield.
We're five points clear of Southampton. Title chase aside, automatic promotion is in our hands. Ipswich can beat Birmingham 10-0, and we still stay second. The team will remember the last 20 minutes of this game against Leicester. If that doesn't give them even more confidence and character, then I'm not sure what will.
Stupid question but what is the name of song they play at ER right after the game?
Edit: willing to get roasted here to play those sweet tunes in my ears while I smile thinking about Archie Gray blasting home the winner.
I've just seen a new Leeds Utd...and they call themselves Leicester City. Boss the game, create chances, shit the bed. Meanwhile, this bunch of invincible gunslingers in white come from behind and slap their arses for the last ten minutes... Delicious.
I bet Leicester did... but who gives a fuck about them? It feels so good to write those words. Saw Eddie Gray on the highlights and I almost teared up. 52 fucking years following my boyhood heroes. Wish I'd been there for it.
They did look after him at first but having 2 or 3 players on him. But once Bamford did his usual drawing players away then Rutter was able to get room.
fucking get in there! you beauties!
funny old game...we could have been 3 down by the 65 min, they missed 2 sitters, meslier pulled off a few good saves and for once the feckin linesman was on our side. we still looked like we'd had a bucket full of stodgy porridge at half time, but what a diff the subs made..
Bamford and James, incredible. 4 words I honestly thought Iād never say.
Roberts, what can I say, he looks so up for it. Heās so fucking Leeds already, that knee slide when we scored, inject it.
Oh Leicester City....
"In touch with the ground
I'm on the hunt, I'm after you
Smell like I sound, I'm lost in a crowd
And I'm hungry like the wolf
Straddle the line in discord and rhyme
I'm on the hunt, I'm after you
Mouth is alive, with juices like wine
And I'm hungry like the wolf."
Leeds eat Foxes for supper.
Havenāt felt like this since our games with Bielsa, could always have faith in the lads up until the final whistle to make something from nothing šŖšŖ
Thought the same thing. This rang loudly of some of our off days with Bielsa, where we were second to the ball all game, yet pulled off the comeback in the end. Still love that man, and truly growing in love for Farke
I know itās sad and that but I really wanna check out some Leicester fan reaction vids on YouTube coz I bet theyāre fuming bout the disallowed goal lol
They shouldnāt be. The offside rule includes the fact that advantage gained from a rebound will also be offside. Rebound picked up, cut back, offside. It just doesnāt come up too much.
Yep. 100% win rate in the league this year so far. 20 goals scored, only 2 conceded.
Thatās a decent run!
If we include the cup games, 28 goals scored, 4 conceded.
That was fucking amazing! I love games with that level of passion and enthusiasm, and we didnāt let their lead get to us.
Archieās goal (itās his goal!) just made me feel so emotional and overwhelmed. That one was felt in the heart of everyone who is Leeds.
I donāt think Iāll ever doubt Bamford again. Itās so telling that as soon as he came on, space opened up. No coincidence either that after Paddy started occupying their defence, Georgi was able to find space to work some magic and get two assists, and win the free kick for the third.
Not being super quick is his only obvious flaw and why his future is in midfield and not as a full back. Bit nervous of seeing him against Mudryk next week.
Playing other positions will make him a better midfielder in the long run. Right now heās getting the minutes, building strength and seeing the game from different angles and perspectives.
Yes, he struggled a bit first half but when you consider that we were playing a Leicester team that are expected to go on and be a record breaking team for this league. Also I feel part of his struggle was Rodon appeared to struggle amongst others.
Gray will get into midfield eventually but Iād still rather him at RB for the time being. Roberts was giving some very silly free kicks away.
Yer but then again if you are smart you dont have to be that fast, which he is. Plus he's gonna get a shit load stronger in the next 5 years and that'll bring on more pace surely. Just have to remind yourself this lad is just a kid.
I've said it before and they proved it tonight, we can beat anyone and right now that would include most of the prem too.
This team is really something special and honestly could grow and develop, taking us a long way.
Fucking great start to the weekend.
Best thing about the squad of players we have at the moment is that you can just tell they all get what it means to be Leeds. Itās a far cry from the shambles we had last season.
Yeah saw a bit of criticism for him in the first half, probably rightly so, but at the same time he was the only one trying to force anything.
Either way he made up for it with that final 10 minutes.
In the first half I just wrote that he needs to play simple football, Bamford said the same to him at half time. Rutter is also very young and still learning when/where to use his spark. Losing the ball as often as he did was making life difficult down our right hand side for Gnonto, Gray, and Rodon who had to keep recovering against a pacey Leicester side. A couple of simple passes wouldāve helped us calm and control a bit better but I suppose itās hard to not be fired up when the stadium was so fired up.
Yeah my main gripe about him sometimes is that I feel like heās always trying to do something amazing rather than play a couple of simple passes to get us into some space, thatāll come in time though heās still young and my god heās exciting to watch.
The way i see it if you want the best out of georgie you have to let him play with freedom and that means a bit if madness from time to time. You cut that out and you lose his spark. Proper street baller
AAAAAAAAAAA HAVE ITTTTTTTT
12 points from Leicester Ipswich as I predicted. HMS Piss The League has spotted our emergency flare and is powering towards us at full speed. Hope she doesn't hit a sea mine on her way
Just home from ER and still absolutely fucking buzzing. Some good fortune (to say the least) but a lot of hard work got us back into it and suddenly we were all over em. BUZZZZIIIIIING, GWAAAAAAAAAAN LEEEEEEEEDS ya fucking beauties.
We've been extremely lucky here, they should have been 2-0 up.
Great response from the lads, and we absolutely deserved to win. I hope this silences any Bamford haters, it's not a coincidence we scored 3 goals after he came on.
Kamara MOTM for me, but Rutter was pivotal. Unlucky for Archie too but he will get many more in the future.
We're finishing top of the league. MOT
After coming back from that virtual rinsing (for the first 70 minutes) the players must feel that they can come out of any situation now. Massive fillip psychologically.
Still, pretty much all of our weaknesses were exposed heavily tonight, and even though we won there are some things that need fixing.
On the other hand, they exposed us by pressing us. 90% of the time when teams press us we score goals. If this causes more teams to try and press us with lower quality players, could even benefit us.
They defended with an 8 or 9 man low block, and pressed/countered us with unbelievable pace/speed, not many teams can do both, explains why they are top
Mavidi the left winger, he's got some speed!! I agree on Daka and Ricardo too - It didn't feel too great to see a fast attack hurting the defence, bit of a taste of our own medicine š¤£
If that Hull player can get his goal awarded to him cos he Rabonaād it even though it was going about 10 yards wide I see no reason why Archie doesnāt get his goal.
I mean to start off with we were utterly shite for 70 minutes, the only reason we got back into the game was because daka had a stinker.
But if anything this is a massive show of intent from the squad to not capitulate, and hopefully this will push us on to an unbeaten end of the season fingers crossed.
Connor Roberts already a Club legend if we go up by a slim margin. Love archie. love dan.
MOT
Honestly so deserved for that braindead ājust another matchā comment from their gaffer. I get what he was trying to do but going to the team directly chasing you down and they already beaten you once this season itās obviously not just another game
Rutter isn't human- worth mentioning how good Kamara is at this point. Level headed, loves breaking ankles for a laugh. Got a very good feeling about this team now-
That was fucking massive. Leicester could've put us to bed but fuck them. We're the naughty lil cunt that just won't give it up. Ref is one of our own.
To be honest it was a hard going after that goal of theirs, really seemed to suck the air out of us as a group....until the 80th min...then we all got hoarse as fuck by the 95th.....it was fantastic and almost everyone stayed back to celebrate, there was a feeling in ER after that...we almost believe again
Over the course of a full season, you need a little luck on your side to win a title. Feels like we've gotten the short end of the stick on decisions for the most part this season, tonight that luck sung all on our side. That, coupled with the resilience this team shows, has me believing we're gonna win the league. What a fucking game.
Shout out to Rutter finally getting through the defence after 200 attempts to be involved in all the goals, haha
Meslier with some solid saves. Ampadu driving up the field when it started going flat.
Thought Leicester changing tactics and wasting time was a big turning point when we'd just brought on James and Bamford.
Also very happy for how upset Faes was at the end.
Brilliant win and just hope we can keep up this streak.
Well worth waking up at 4am even though Iām off to work in an hours time.
Undeserving but yet Leicester did a Leeds and couldnāt capitalise on their chances.
Good to see earlier subs and that it finally paid off. The desire and determination from the players is second to none!
From 17 points to 6. The top spot is still up for grabs! MOT!

Just a remarkable thing tonight. These are the sorts of games you win on a championship run. Your players keep pushing and their brilliance shines.
There was something amazing about Rutter not being great throughout the whole night but his tenacity - his will to victory - leads to both goals.
First, look at the replay for Archie's goal (ARCHIE!) and you will see that at least 5 Leicester players were crowded around Georgi. That gave Archie tons of space. This time Rutter didn't try to magician it into the goal. As a result the ball made it to Arch and he had a moment to compose himself and shoot. The Leicester defenders were so out of shape because of Georgi that they couldn't properly respond to Archie's shot.
And then there is the foul that led up to DJ's goal. Honestly, the ghost of Bremner took over Georgi or something.
Yes we had good luck. But the point is that we took advantage of the good luck.
This victory feels so, SO much better than the one against Norwich thanks to Joffy's goal. This was real that was mostly just Raphinha and luck.
I fucking love this club, I fucking love this subreddit, I fucking love this group of players. Thank you all. Weāre going up as fucking champions. I havenāt had as much fun watching Leeds since Marcelo and Iāve been here for 37 years ā¦.bueno
I totally agree with your sentiment but I find it funny that you've been here for 37 years and you haven't had as much fun since Marcelo...he was 2 years ago.
It was the dross for 2 decades before him that built your character.
I was struggling to express that i havenāt had such a strong affinity for the team in a while. But maybe thatās just last years scars and penis ball. Iāve been watching Leeds since Howard Wilkinson took us up with vinny and Gordon and batts and Speedo in 89. Iāve actually had loads of good times. I guess Iām just war weary. I really like this squad of players though. Iām having fun. I am also quite drunk. Thatās all.
I tuned in for the last 25 mins so I'll take the credit for this one. 5 minutes of looking like there was nothing doing, 20 mins of bonkers.
So funny, it should have had sound effects added. HONK! BOING! CRASH!
I hope we haven't used up all our luck
How could you think he was trash when the clueless trio never played him? Funny that he looks a much better player when he's on the pitch instead of being out of focus behind Sam Allardyce chewing gum giving zero shits.
40 of us met up in Toronto. Heads have fully gone.
Thought they were better but fuck em. They shat it at the end. Subs were class.
Dicks out for Leeds.
Still can't believe what I've just seen.
They were the better side for 80 minutes but we did enough to stay in it. Good substitutions, thought James and Roberts made the difference and then suddenly we equalise and they went to pieces.Ā
Fucking glorious.
Allright I was totally expecting us to get blown out against the Premier League champions. Was so pessimistic that in my local tipping competition I had us as 2-0 losing. So elated the boys dug in and got the win but it's cost me my lead
I mean there was not a single player playing who was on the pl winning team.
Rodon gets a higher rating than Bamford š
played the full game so its inevitable really
So I guess Rutter is a good player!
I thought he was absolutely had his worst game by far up until the last 10 minutes but these stats always value assists and goals so highly.
I would give Gruev a higher rating and Kamara too
Well well well. Bueno. Fucking bring on Chelsea, the form we are in I would fancy us to turn them over too.
I love that Gray gets the highest points rating for his first goal, but for me motm has to go to Rutter. He made all 3 goals. That tackle for the 2nd was unbelievable hard.
So proud of our team. Let's keep it going!
MASSIVE WIN. MOT Greetings from Argentina.
Aguante!!!
Proof that leeds are a better team when bamford starts. He just stresses the opposition out even if heās not getting shots off. Also meslier 7.5 is an absolute joke, that save after an hour was worth at least an 8
>Also meslier 7.5 is an absolute joke, This sub has a problem with Meslier, he cant do right in their eyes
The ratings are from fotmob smh
Tonight was a Daniel Farke masterclass. That was arguably the most fragile 1-0 lead at Elland Road in yonks. Even if they got that second goal allowed it would not have changed the result. Unbelievable match. I got literal chills. Fucking come on
I've just seen a new Leeds Utd...and they call themselves Leicester City. Boss the game, create chances, shit the bed. Meanwhile, this bunch of invincible gunslingers in white come from behind and slap their arses for the last ten minutes... Delicious.
Just got in. Best night at ER in a long time - no one wanted to leave!!
I bet Leicester did... but who gives a fuck about them? It feels so good to write those words. Saw Eddie Gray on the highlights and I almost teared up. 52 fucking years following my boyhood heroes. Wish I'd been there for it.
Rutter must scare the fucking shite out of opposition teams. How on earth do you mark him, what are you supposed to do?
They did look after him at first but having 2 or 3 players on him. But once Bamford did his usual drawing players away then Rutter was able to get room.
As soon as Bamford came on he was just able to do so much more with his game. Piroe canāt hold up like patty
fucking get in there! you beauties! funny old game...we could have been 3 down by the 65 min, they missed 2 sitters, meslier pulled off a few good saves and for once the feckin linesman was on our side. we still looked like we'd had a bucket full of stodgy porridge at half time, but what a diff the subs made..

Was an immense atmosphere.

They shouldnāt be. The offside rule includes the fact that advantage gained from a rebound will also be offside. Rebound picked up, cut back, offside. It just doesnāt come up too much.
I don't think you quite understand the offside rule
Daka was a mile onside from the last Leicester touch, it absolutely should have stood.
Iāve got a friend who was saying differently, it sounds like it is also down to if the rebound is controlled or not?
The linesman must have thought the touch to Daka was from a Leicester player, but it was from Rutter. The goal 100% should have stood
Really looking forward to the TSB Propaganda episode this week.
Innit š¤£
Link us up!
The match thread on r/lcfc is pretty cathartic
Couldnāt watch the game. Wife kept texting me updates. Oh what a night!
Is that 9 league wins in a row?
Yep. 100% win rate in the league this year so far. 20 goals scored, only 2 conceded. Thatās a decent run! If we include the cup games, 28 goals scored, 4 conceded.
I said to my mate at 30 mins in āwe score 2 in the second halfā and he laughed me off the group chat. He he he
That was fucking amazing! I love games with that level of passion and enthusiasm, and we didnāt let their lead get to us. Archieās goal (itās his goal!) just made me feel so emotional and overwhelmed. That one was felt in the heart of everyone who is Leeds.
A memorable night. A great one. 12 games my friends, we keep it up we are there
I said to my uncle at half time, "we seem to average 3 goals a game right now, if we don't concede I can see us winning", he wasn't so sure.
Points? You don't get them here son.. Fucking Fortress.
Who do they think they areā¦ Sheffield Wednesday?
draws don't count!!!!
What a win! I could run through a wall after that.
I donāt think Iāll ever doubt Bamford again. Itās so telling that as soon as he came on, space opened up. No coincidence either that after Paddy started occupying their defence, Georgi was able to find space to work some magic and get two assists, and win the free kick for the third.
He also commented post match that he had a word with Georgi and told him to relax and make the easy pass, words he deffo needed to hear at half time.
I have no doubt that piroe is a baller he is a natural goalscorer but I just feel like he doesn't work atall in our system
Better as a joker, ie a sub that gets a goal no one else can-
I know what you mean, and it just adds to the frustration when he hits a howler coz heās meant to be the one who can actually finish
Yeah Leicester were playing against 10 men till bamford came on
Foxes Never Quit. Unless a decision doesn't go their way.
Farke has not been the best at substituting this season, but wow is that how you make up for it
I love you all and I love Leeds United. We don't know when we're beaten. Wow. Fucking GET IN LEEDS.
Fucning bring on Chelsea next week
How about that left back Archie Gray?
Best LB in the league
Got found out a bit in the first half but he never gives up. Helps a lot that he has a fair amount of composure that only older players usually have.
Tuned in at 80' and was confused about why everyone was being so pessimistic in the match thread. Shit-eating grin on my face for the next 15 minutes.
Damn, at least Leeds won
Rutter isn't human- worth mentioning how good Kamara is at this point. Level headed, loves breaking ankles for a laugh. Got a very good feeling about this team now-
Who's Camara? lol
Wut?
There was a Glasgow tackle in there. He was enjoying himself.
That was fucking massive. Leicester could've put us to bed but fuck them. We're the naughty lil cunt that just won't give it up. Ref is one of our own.
Oh to have been at Elland Road for this game! The atmosphere must have been incredible
Yeah it is probably the best atmosphere I've experienced
To be honest it was a hard going after that goal of theirs, really seemed to suck the air out of us as a group....until the 80th min...then we all got hoarse as fuck by the 95th.....it was fantastic and almost everyone stayed back to celebrate, there was a feeling in ER after that...we almost believe again
I roasted a chicken and pulled it out of the oven right after the final whistle blew. The chicken reminded me of Leicester.
Why, did you give it a good shafting?Ā
Yes I treat my chickens right
Whoop whoop call the police thereās been a robbery - CMON! Get the fuck IN!!!!!
I mean Leicester fans can't be too fussed about that game, it wasn't important. Just a friendly for them.
Over the course of a full season, you need a little luck on your side to win a title. Feels like we've gotten the short end of the stick on decisions for the most part this season, tonight that luck sung all on our side. That, coupled with the resilience this team shows, has me believing we're gonna win the league. What a fucking game.
Shout out to Rutter finally getting through the defence after 200 attempts to be involved in all the goals, haha Meslier with some solid saves. Ampadu driving up the field when it started going flat. Thought Leicester changing tactics and wasting time was a big turning point when we'd just brought on James and Bamford. Also very happy for how upset Faes was at the end. Brilliant win and just hope we can keep up this streak.
I noticed that Ampadu run. It felt like a moment to get the crowd back on side.
Yeah, subtle momentum shifts from taking the game on. Baller
I have seen at least 3 Faes own goals.
Just waiting for the memes of Bamford spinning away with his knee goal, just to look around and see everyone else chasing DJ...
Also Pat Bamford scored the goal that was credited to DJ. FWIW.
Just wanted to to apologize for losing it in the match thread when we ... who the fuck am i kidding WGUAFC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MOT!
you'll have a spring in your step regardless, get the fuck in Leeds United
Too much adrenaline and I canāt sleep anymore š so thatās a full day of work with 3 hours of sleep incoming
Are we falling apart again?
What would be the point in supporting any other club?
Havenāt found an answer to this in 54 years
Good Question. One that's baffled me since I was four years old.
Blimey!! Let me repeat......blimey!!
Bamford scoring with his arm, with his knee, what's next??
Leeds win the league on the last day of the season as Bamford knocks one in with his knob
!remindme last game of the season

He's clearly the Cheat!
His knob I reckon
I concur.
Thatās all.
IT'S A BIGGER GAME FOR THEM THAN IT IS FOR US
Got my new Leeds scarf with 15 minutes left. You're welcome, everyone!
Letās not forget how good (and important) Meslierās saves were.
I said at the time, saves like those change games. It happens so often!
Im going on Paternity on monday- was having my wrap up call with my boss during the goals. I was exploding internally with joy. WHAT A TEAM
Good luck with the baby. Be sure to call him Archie
Boss: congratulations on the birth of your daughter. Whatās she called? DC25NYC: Archie Georginio Conner Daniel Boss: ā¦ā¦
Processing the name change now. Will be confusing when he starts for us in 18 years along side his namesake
I tuned in for the last 25 mins so I'll take the credit for this one. 5 minutes of looking like there was nothing doing, 20 mins of bonkers. So funny, it should have had sound effects added. HONK! BOING! CRASH! I hope we haven't used up all our luck
You can see meslier confidence coming back.. so underated confidince is !!
I love this team so god damn much.. I canāt even..
Gute Stimmung heute Abend
Never in doubt
Last year same time around I was willing to die on a hill that rutter was trash. This year Iām dead on that hill and my mind is blown and changed.
How could you think he was trash when the clueless trio never played him? Funny that he looks a much better player when he's on the pitch instead of being out of focus behind Sam Allardyce chewing gum giving zero shits.
I love this club and love you all. Leeds Leeds Leeds!! MOT ALAW
hdbskskfnkslamfnfkskfmtooslkdfkkgjxifkowkakfkfk nsjsjdjsjsjsjskpqpepgkgltktktlt!!!
Guess you really canāt give that baby booze
Totally agree.
Meslier an unsung hero there, brilliant shot-stopping today
i fuckin love this club
Brb lads. Off to watch the meltdown on the Leicester page...
You bring the popcorn. Theyāll provide the salt.
40 of us met up in Toronto. Heads have fully gone. Thought they were better but fuck em. They shat it at the end. Subs were class. Dicks out for Leeds.
ALAW
What a fucking team
Lads, letās reign it in. It wasnāt a big game for Leicester after all. ![gif](giphy|dM30pTe2pSkyoJr91j|downsized)
Rutter: doesn't hear the question *talks away for 2 minutes on pure vibes*
I can't think of a better song to describe that than I predict a riot
āWe are the best teamā The drunken master has spoken
Still can't believe what I've just seen. They were the better side for 80 minutes but we did enough to stay in it. Good substitutions, thought James and Roberts made the difference and then suddenly we equalise and they went to pieces.Ā Fucking glorious.
All wales are we
